The Ghost of Cozy Glow

by SapphireRose87

Chapter Four

As I sat on the edge of my bed crying, I thought a lot about the date and how it went wrong.

“You okay?” Cozy Glow asked.

“No,” I said, “I’m not okay, but thanks for asking.”

Just then I heard a knock at the door. My mom poked her head inside my room with a concerned look on her face.

“You have a visitor.” Mom said.

“Who is it?” I said.

“Silver Whiskers…” Mom said.

“What?” I said.

Mom then opened up the door and sure enough there was Silver Whiskers.

“What do you want?” I growled.

“Now Betty be nice.” Mom said.

“Why?” I said. “He’s best friends with Marble Sprint!”

“Just because he’s best friends with your enemy doesn’t mean you have to be so rude!”  Mom said.

I sighed, “Come on in…”

Silver Whiskers then entered my room and he had a note in his hand. It was from Marble Sprint.

“I wanted to ask you something and I’ve been wanting to ask you this for a long time but…” Silver Whiskers said.

“Spit it out…” I said.

“I’m sorry I picked on you for so long and I always had a crush on you from the beginning,” Silver Whiskers sighed, “and at the risk of losing my friends, I want to do the right thing and ask you out on a date.”

I sat on the edge of my bed staring in shock at SIlver Whiskers.

“Is this a joke?” I said.

“No, it’s not.” Silver Whiskers said.

Now I had a choice to make should I? Or shouldn’t I? I then decided it was in my best interest to go out with Silver Whiskers this might stop the bullying from Marble.

“Yes,” I whispered, “I’ll go out with you.”

Mom smiled as Silver Whiskers spun me around and kissed me. So that sealed the deal.

“Yeah I forgot!” Silver Whiskers said. “Marble wrote you a note. Here it is!”

Silver Whiskers then handed me the note.

“Let’s say I’ll walk you to school tomorrow around 8?” Silver Whiskers said.

After Silver Whiskers left I took out the note and read it.

Dear Betty,

I’m sorry our date didn’t go well. But you have to think it was forced. I was determined not to say anything to keep my reputation in tact. I’m very sorry I hurt your feelings to the point where you tried to kill yourself. With my blessing Silver Whiskers wants to date you. And I think you two will make a great couple.

Well that’s all I have to tell you, have fun with Silver!

Sincerely,

Marble Sprint

Another shocker for the day and I don’t think that my heart can take much more. I could tell this was going to be very interesting from here on out.

Just as promised Silver Whiskers he picked me around 8am and we walked to school together. I could feel the whispers as we walked down the hallway together Silver Whiskers walking protectively by my side.

“Shows over!” Silver Whiskers shouted.

Just that quick the whispering stopped. And the rest of the day went fine. I didn’t see Marble Sprint at all that day. Rumor has it that Marble Sprint fell ill today. But I don’t believe in rumors.

At lunchtime Silver Whiskers and I sat together by ourselves. Then Dark Meadow came up snickering.

“Well isn’t the happy couple!” Dark Meadow said. “I would congratulate you but I don’t approve of dating abominations.”

“Suck my dick Dark Meadow!” Silver Whiskers said.

“Awe,” said Dark Meadow, “I was just having fun.”

“That fun,” said Mystic Diamond, “it’s bullying. Leave them alone!”

“Like I have to listen to you?” Dark Meadow said.

“It would be wise to do so.” Mystic Diamond said.

“Or what?!” Dark Meadow.

“Or I’ll tell Head Mare Starlight Glimmer!” Mystic Diamond said.

“Oh I’m so scared!” Dark Meadow said.

“Well you should be!” Said a voice.

It was Head Mare Starlight Glimmer. The whole cafeteria gasped as Head Mare Starlight Glimmer walked up to Dark Meadow.

“Come with me…” Head Mare Starlight Glimmer said.

“I don’t want to!” Dark Meadow said.

“I said,” said Head Mare Starlight Glimmer, “come with me now!”

Then to everyone’s surprise, Head Mare Starlight Glimmer encased Dark Meadow in her magic lifting him up in the air and dragging him away.

“Well,” said Mystic Diamond, “glad that’s over.”

“I don’t know about that,” I said, “he seemed pretty relentless.”

“Yeah,” said Silver Whiskers, “what’s up with that?”

“I don’t know…” I said.

After that I had a feeling that this would be another saga of bullying.

That night I had a weird dream. Remember the System that I mentioned earlier in the story? Wel, the System has a big part to play when it comes down to the death of a pony or human. In this case I don’t think the System would know where to put me because I’m half human and half pony.

As I stood in front of the computer in awe I heard a voice that wasn’t coming from the computer this time.

“You’ve traveled here many times Betty,” said Princess Celestia, “you have a wonderful gift!”

“A gift?” I said. “How is this a gift?”

“Well,” said Princess Celestia, “it’s a gift to see into the world of the dead.”

“World of the dead?” I said.

“Wow,” said Princess Celestia, “you ask a lot of questions, come with me we need to talk…”

“Do you know what the System is?” Princess Celestia asked.

“I heard,” I said, “that it’s kind of like a sorting system for the Dead.”

“Correct!” Princess Celestia said. “But it’s so much more than that. Since you have the gift, I think it’s time for you to get to know the System inside and out.”

“What do you mean?” I said.

“For example, “ said Princess Celestia, “if I wanted to look into a dead soul and see where they are at, all I’d have to do is to use voice commands. Computer!”

Just then the Computer lit up and eyes and a smile greeted us.

“Hello Princess Celestia,” said Computer, “hello Betty.”
“How does it know my name?” I asked.

“I know the name of every living and nonliving soul in Equestria.” Computer said. “And last time you came here, you were very early not late.”

“What?” I said.

“Every creature in Equestria as an expiration date. “ Princess Celestia said.

“Oh…” I said.

Then we heard a loud boom in the distance and Princess Celestia gasped.

“It’ time for you to go,” said Princess Celestia, “go now! I’ll handle this!”

“What is it?” I said.

“Another breakout, “ said Princess Celestia, “It’s time for you to wake up now!”

Before I could say another word, I woke up.
