"Daniel flick that switch." Timothy Eirsfield commanded. Daniel had been dozing off due to sleep deprivation.
"Huh? What? OH!" Daniel stuttered rapidly. He flipped the switch and heard hissing and whirring and all other sorts of noises. The noises were Daniel's favorite part of being a scientist, being surrounded by the sounds of mechanical activity always calmed him. He could get lost in the sounds for days. The only thing that brought him back to Earth was his senior officer of the "Time Veil" experiment occasional queries and statements.
"Daydreaming again were you? Ha I understand, it's ok." Timothy teased right before multiple sirens blasted from above. The sound was deafening causing both men to fall and clutch their injured ears. Unfortunately Daniel stepped on a small puddle of oil.
This was new. This sound... it was...falling. Yes thats what it is. This is what it sounds like to fall. Maybe this is just a dream. Glancing to his left there was a black hole caused by the Time Veil. Oh...nope not a dream he thought before being sucked into the whirling death machine of nature.
Time...we figured out...was just a cloak. All time is happening at the same moment just...altered. We needed to go back. Time was one thing we didn't have. So we created it. The end of the world was coming. Just as the Mayans stated, but that was just coincidence and mere luck. The end it seems came it a comical way. The Earth was going to simply implode. All volcanoes would erupt and the tectonic plates would collapse. The only solution was to go back. Convince other we needed to stabilize the core.
Mistakes. Regret. Pain. Anger. Daniel felt all of these as he swirled in a void. A place between time and space. We made a mistake. Our calculations were wrong. The ground beneath us had crumpled like tissue paper way before we had predicted. Now it was over. He closed his eyes drifting off into what he thought would be an eternal sleep.
"You needed us Zecora?" Twilight Sparkle asked curiously. The message Zecora had sent was urgent and jumbled, as if the writer was rushed and confused.
"I have traveled far and wide, but a glance at this I tried. My brain cannot comprehend what I see before my eyes." Zecora rhymed.
"Um, im not even sure that rhymed silly" Pinkie Pie laughed. The Mane Six had arrived at Zecora's hut as she requested thinking of some outlandish zebra ritual. What Zecora showed them was way different. Unlike anything they had seen before.
"I found it in a bush surrounded by fire. I doused the flame to find out what had transpired." The creature was...odd. It seemed to be sleeping, but they were cautious all the same. The thing was covered in cloth that just didn't seem to fit.
"...um...what is it...?" Fluttershy quietly pondered.
"I bet it's a hairless monkey!" Rainbow Dash yelled which caused everypony to glance angrily at her.
"I don't know what it is, but that cloth it’s wearing is simply hideous." Rarity stated. "It's a human sillies!" Pinkie blurted. She then went on to talk about how she once had hung out with a human on Earth for a whole week.
"Uhm a what and where now Pinkie?" Applejack asked.
"Wait. I've seen this before girls. Starswirl the Bearded ran into one of these on his adventures through the stars. They are known as...." Twilight paused as she reached in her saddlepack. "...Homosapien. They live in an alternate dimension in which they are the dominant species."
"Are yall crazy!? This is crazy!" Applejack screamed causing the "human" to stir waking up from his sleep.
Daniels head spun. Where am I? What in the...OMIGOSH THOSE HORSIES ARE TALKING!!! He screamed at the top of his lungs as he started crying. Eight year old Daniel tended to cry and fuss a lot, but this was a new level of hissy fits.
"Um...Hi, I'm Twilight." He heard right before fainting.
