Up in the Stadium, the audience had all taken their seats and were waiting for the B Block Tournament to begin.
The main stage light up with lights and smoke, as the Celestial Sisters appeared and waved to the crowd.
Both: Welcome back everybody!
Celestia: It's time for the B Block tournament to begin.
Luna: Who will face off against who for the two spots in the Block Finals? Let's find out.
She lifted her remote up and pressed the button, causing the megascreen to switch on and show the images of the four remaining Duelists. The images then flipped around and began spinning around, until the first of the images shot out and flipped around.
Celestia: First up is Micro Chips.
The second image flipped out, showing who he'd be facing.
Luna: His opponent will be Shadow.
"So that means Twilight will be facing Adagio," Rarity said.
They all looked around at Twilight, who didn't seem to really care about her opponent.
"You okay?" Spike asked her but when Twilight didn't reply he poked her, causing her focus to suddenly shift to them.
"What?" She asked looking around.
"Are you even paying attention?" Rainbow asked.
"Um," Twilight said.
"You're worried about Flash aren't you?" Fluttershy asked.
Twilight sighed and just nodded.
"Ya'h can't let this get to ya'h," Applejack, "how's Flash gonna feel if he found out ya'h lost because of him."
"She's right," Pinkie said, "don't go into a Duel with a frown."
Twilight wanted to agree with her friends, but no matter what she couldn't. No matter what he mind kept flashing back to the Duel she'd watched. "I just hope he's okay."
Meanwhile the Duel between Flash and Cold continued. They were on a icy Action Field and Cold had just summoned his ace monster, while trying to cause Flash to get angry to see how much control he can have while unleashing the power of his rage.
"Now that Frozen Heart Dragon is on the field," Cold said, "you'll need to use all your strength if you wish to defeat it."
"I beat it once," Flash said, "and I can do it again."
"We'll see about that," Cold said, "I attack Magna Fighter Light Boarder!" The giant ice dragon rose into the air and held up one of its clawed hands, which suddenly fired a burst of frozen wind, which caused Light Boarder to freeze up before exploding into icy chunks.
"I activate my face down," Flash said as his card flipped up to reveal a Trap, "Defence Draw. This card will negate the battle damage and lets me draw one card."
"We'll see how far you can go like this," Cold said as he ended his turn.
"Yeah," Flash said, "we will."
Celestia: It's time for the first match of the B Block tournament.
Luna: Let's welcome our two Duelists onto the stage. First up, Micro Chips!
A boy with purple skin, black hair and glasses walked out onto the stage.
Celestia: And his opponent, Shadow!
Shadow stepped out, heading into the centre of the stadium.
The two met where the ref stood, before he flipped the coin and Micro was chosen to take the first move. The two nodded and turned to step to a safe distance.
Up in the box, Chrysalis was looking around in confusion.
"Any idea where that boss of yours has gotten to?" She asked Sunset, who shrugged in response.
"No clue," she said, "might be making sure the ARC System doesn't malfunction again."
"Are we sure it's a good idea the to be continuing the tournament?" Shining asked, "if the Duelists are getting hurt shouldn't we stop this?"
Sunset gave him a glare, knowing he was just trying to stop his sister from Duelling Adagio. "Relax, Cold wouldn't let the matches continue if he thought the contestants were in real danger.
"Still a scary thought," Thorax said, "especially after seeing what happened with Flash's Duel."
"I'm sure he's fine," Cadance said, "don't worry. Just relax and enjoy the next match."
Luna: Now it's time to see which Action Field they'll be playing on.
She held up her remote and pressed the button, causing the floor beneath them to glow as it generated the Action Field.
"AUGMENTED REALITY COMBAT SYSTEM ENERGISED."
In the blink of an eye the two found themselves in a large open space, filled with old school computers that were roughly six foot high.
Celestia: Computopia!
"Excellent," Micro said as he adjusted his glasses, "this field will work to nether of our advantages. That means we'll be Duelling on even ground."
"Whatever poindexter," Shadow said as he attached his Duel Disk to his arm, "let's get this over with."
"Let's," Micro said as he attached a yellow disk to his arm, which created a purple blade.
Celestia: With nothing else to say, let's get this Duel started. In three!
Luna: Two!
Both: One!
"DUEL!"
Shadow: 4000
Micro: 4000
"ACTION CARDS DISPERSED!"
"It's my turn," Micro said as he went to his deck, "I draw and summon Galaxy Hero, Astroman in ATK mode." A man in black futuristic astronaut clothing appeared, a cape flowing from it, before taking a stand infront of Micro. (A1000/D1000/L4) "I end my turn with two face downs."
Luna: A decent move from Micro. How will Shadow respond.
"It's my turn," Shadow said as he went to his deck, "I draw and set the Pendulum Scale with scale two Shadow-Mech Jetstorm and scale nine Shadow-Mech Scooter." He slapped the cards on the Duel Disk as it lit up. The columns of light appeared on either side of him, as the two monster flew up into them and forged the portal above his head. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and two beams of light shot out.
"Shadow-Mech Star Shuttle." (A3000/D3000/L8/P4)
"Shadow-Mech Hoist!" (A2400/D1800/L6)
"Attack!" Shadow called out as his Star Shuttle transformed and flew up into the air, before dive bombing towards Astroman.
"I activate my face down," Micro called out as one of his cards flipped up revealing a Trap, "Star Guard! Since I have a Galaxy Hero on my field, I can negate your attack and end the battle phase." A star shaped shield appeared in Astroman's hands, which he used to block Star Shuttle's attack.
Shadow frowned. "Fine I end my turn."
Celestia: Some quick thinking from Micro saved him from major damage.
Luna: But he's not safe yet. Unless he can pull something big he's in for a tricky time.
"Hopefully Micro can do something to beat Shadow," Sweetie said.
"Don't be so sure," Rarity said, "this Duel's just getting started. Micro might be good but I doubt he can keep up with Shadow's roofless Duel style."
"Maybe he's been hiding something big to use against him," Applebloom said.
"Didn't help Photo," Spike replied,
"Maybe," Applejack said, "and even if he does, Shadow may be hiding something of his own."
They all looked down at the arena, all slightly unsure how this match will unfurl.
Down below Flash and Cold's match was continuing.
"It's my turn," Flash said as he reached for his deck, "I draw!" He looked at the card he'd drawn and saw it was Exitium, making him frown. Defence Draw had gotten him Magna Fighter Radium, which meant if he could get one more Level four monster he could summon Destiny Bound and then Chaos Command Dragon. That thought alone made his nervous, since he wasn't sure whether he could trust himself with that card.
"What's the hold up," Cold's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"I attack with Flash Heart Dragon," Flash said quickly as his ace flew towards Cold's, before reeling its fist back and then throwing it forwards. The plan was for the two to destroy each other and then Flash would attack with Gladio.
Cold however, had other ideas and began running through the ice field, before pulling an Action Card off another icicle. "I activate the Action Spell Miracle."
A force field appeared around Frozen Heart, which Flash Heart punched only to explode leaving its target unharmed.
"Damn it," Flash said, "well don't forget I've still got my Pendulum Scale." The portal above his head began to form, before it opened. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
Two lights shot out of the portal, both taking shape as they struck the ground and took a defensive stance.
"Flash Heart Dragon!" (A2500/D2000/L7/P4)
"Magna Fighter Light Boarder!" (A1300/D1100/L3/P3)
"I switch Gladio into DEF mode and end my turn," Flash said.
"Then I'll go," Cold said as he went to his deck, "I draw and play Pot of Greed, which will allow me to draw two cards." He did so and looked at them, nodding as he did. "And now, my Pendulum Scale will once again cut through space time and carve the arc of victory." The portal began to form above his head, "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and a single light shot out, hitting the ground and taking form. "Frozen Heart Demon!" (A1900/D2100/L5/P2)
"Aw great," Flash said sarcastically.
"Frozen Heart Dragon," Cold said, "attack Flash Heart Dragon." The ice monster raised its clawed hand, before firing a burst of cold air out at Flash's ace. The wind struck the robotic dragon, encasing it in ice which then shattered into a million pieces. "Now Frozen Heart Demon," Cold said, "attack Magna Fighter Light Boarder." The ice gargoyle opened its mouth before unleashing a burst of icy breathe, which struck Light Boarder and causing her to follow in Flash Heart's foots steps.
"It's fine," Flash told himself, "I'll revive them next turn."
"Next," Cold said, "I activate the Spell Card Blizzard Blast. This card lets me destroy one Spell or Trap on the field and I select Magna Fighter Lucidum." Another burst of snowy wind struck the field, causing Flash to go blind from the assault while wrapping his arms around himself for warmth.
When the storm died down, Flash looked up at his Pendulum Monster and saw Lucidum's column was now a pillar of ice with him trapped inside. The pillar then shattered, causing Lucidum to be destroyed as the chunks fell to the earth.
"I end my turn," Cold said, "Now what will you do? Not gonna be so easy to summon your Pendulum Monsters out when you Scale is broken.
Flash frowned hearing the taunt. He knew Cold was just trying to push him over the edge and make him angry, but it wouldn't work. No matter what he wouldn't let his anger control him again.
Back upstairs, Shadow and Micro were continuing their Duel.
"It's my turn," Micro said as he reached for his deck, "I draw!" He looked at his card and nodded, before turning to his monster. "I activate Galaxy Hero Astroman's special ability," he said as his monster disappeared in a flash of light. "By sacrificing himself, Astroman lets me search my deck for a Level four or below Galaxy Hero and summon it to the field." His deck began to shuffle, before it slotted out a card which Micro took and then slapped on his Duel Disk. "Say hello to Galaxy Hero Sunman!" In a explosion of flames, a man in sun themed hero clothing appeared. It was mainly yellow, with streaks of red here and there, and he had a red cape with a yellow sun shaped insignia emblazoned on it. (A1200/D800/L4)
"An okay monster," Spike said, "but it doesn't really help him against either of those Shadow-Mechs."
"He must have something planned," Rarity said, "we'll just have to wait and see."
"Next," Micro said, "I'm summoning to the field my Galaxy Hero Lady Moon!" Another hero themed monster appeared, this on being female with a tight dark blue spandex suit. She had an insignia on her chest in the shape of a crescent moon, along with a crescent moon shaped visor over her eyes. (A1200/D800/L4)
"Those two monsters are useless against mine," Shadow said.
"We'll see about that," Micro said as he took another card from his hand and placed it in his Duel Disk, "I activate the Spell card Polymerisation!"
Celestia: So Micro Chips intends to Fusion Summon, I hope he knows what he's doing.
Luna: I'm sure he's got a plan.
A vortex opened up above the two hero monster, which they then leapt into before getting sucked inside. "I FUSION SUMMON!"
The vortex exploded, revealing Micro's newest monster. It was a man in hero themed clothing, a black suit with crimson red trim. On his chest was the insignia from Sunman's cape, which had Lady Moon's insignia on the inside of it. "Say hello to Galaxy Hero Ecliptor!" (A2400/D1600/L6)
"Nice move," Shadow said, "but next time you might want to try summoning something with more ATK points then my monsters."
"Hold your horses," Micro said, "at least wait until I declare an attack before thinking you have my monster beat. Besides, I already know that, which is why I'm equipping him with Galaxy Gunner." In a flash of light a large alien like weapon appeared in Ecliptor's hand, which it aimed at Star Shuttle. "With this card, my Galaxy Hero's getting a boost. He gains four hundred ATK points for each Galaxy Hero in my graveyard."
Celestia: Impressive. With three Galaxy Heroes in the graveyard, Ecliptor will gain twelve hundred ATK points.
Luna: That's enough to beat any of Shadow's monsters.
"Galaxy Hero Ecliptor," Micro called out, "attack!" The hero monster's weapon began charging up, as his power increased. (A3600/D1600/L6) The Galaxy Gunner fired, unleashing a black energy beam with what looked like stardust inside.
The beam struck Star Shuttle, causing it to explode and send Shadow flying back.
Shadow: 3400
Micro: 4000
"Why didn't he attack Shadow-Mech Hoist?" Sweetie asked, "he would have caused more damage."
"But it would have also left him open," Rarity told her sister. "If he'd destroyed Hoist, Star Shuttle would be able to attack next turn. If Shadow used something like Cyber Sabre, it would have made his monster strong enough to defeat Ecliptor."
"Micro must have been studying Shadow's style for a while," Rainbow said, "he must have designed a stratagy like this so he can keep himself in the game."
"Let's just hope he has a plan for Shadow's best monster," Twilight said, "he's playing a risky game using a Fusion Monster."
The others all nodded at this, before turning back to the field.
"I end my turn," Micro said.
"Then I'll go," He went to his deck and drew. He looked at the card he'd drawn and nodded, before turning to his opponent. "And with my Pendulum Scale, I'll now cut through space time and carve the arc of victory." The portal began to form above his head. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and a single light shot out, striking the ground and taking form. "Shadow-Mech Star Shuttle!" (A3000/D3000/L8/P4)
"You might have gotten a strong monster out," Micro said, "but it won't be able to beat my Ecliptor."
"That's why I'm taking a cue from you," Shadow said as he took a card from his hand and and placed it in his Duel Disk. "I activate my own Polymerisation!"
Micro frowned seeing this.
Just like with when Micro did it, a vortex opened in the sky which sucked Shadow-Mech Hoist and Star Shuttle inside. "I FUSION SUMMON!"
The vortex exploded, unleashing Shadow's monster. "Shadow-Mech Fusion Bot!" (A3200/D1300/L8)
Celestia: What a move. Shadow drew the one card which he could use to defeat Micro's.
Luna: Let's not jump to conclusions. Micro was no doubt expecting this.
"I attack your Galaxy Hero Ecliptor with Shadow-Mech Fusion Bot!" Shadow said as his monster's chest opened up and followed out its lance weapon. "And don't forget, when Fusion Bot attacks a Fusion Monster, that monster's ATK and DEF points are reduced to zero." A beam of light shot out of the robot and struck Ecliptor, causing him to flinch in pain. (A0/D0/L6) "This might sting a little," Shadow said.
"I don't think so," Micro said as his face down flipped up, revealing a Spell card. "Go De-Fusion!" Ecliptor suddenly flew into the air and transformed into a ball of red and blue light, which then split into a red beam of light and a blue beam of light. They struck the ground and transformed into Sunman and Lady Moon.
Celestia: Quick thinking form Micro there.
Luna: No doubt he expected this and had that card ready.
Shadow frowned at this, but wouldn't be deterred. "Fusion Bot attack Sunman!" The Fusion Monster's weapon fired, unleashing the purple energy beam which struck Micro's monster destroying it and sending him flying back.
Shadow: 3400
Micro: 2000
Celestia: Ooh, that had to hurt.
"I end my turn," Shadow said as he looked over at his opponent, "so what's next poindexter? I look forward to seeing what you have planned next."
Micro managed to pick himself up and looked over at his opponent. "Oh don't worry," he said, "I'm just getting started.
Meanwhile down below, Flash was looking over his options. His only option right now was using Exitium to reform the Pendulum Scale and summon Flash Heart. He could use either him or Gladio to destroy Frozen Heart Demon, but doing that would only do a little damage to Cold's life points and he could summon it back next turn and if he summoned another monster he could use Frozen Heart Dragon's ability to wipe him out.
He reached for his deck and drew his card, seeing it was Volt Edge Dragon. With everything he had, he could summon Chaos Command Dragon and use it to give him a great lead, but could he trust himself to stay in control.
He looked over at Cold. Seeing his stoic expression made him frown, knowing that Cold wanted him to lose his cool. "I won't," he said as he looked down at his cards, "if I stay calm I'll be fine." He took Exitium out of his hand and slapped it into the empty Pendulum Zone, causing the column of light to appear to his right as the Magna Caster flew into it. "With these two monster I can not cut through space time and carve the arc of victory," he said as the portal formed above him. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and three beams of light shot out, striking the ground and taking form.
"Spark up, Volt Edge Dragon." (A1500/D1200/L4/P5)
"Target sighted, Magna Fighter Radium." (A1600/D1400/L4)
"Shine your light of victory, Flash Heart Dragon!" (A2500/D2000/L7/P4)
Cold smirked, seeing everything in place.
"And now," Flash said as Volt Edge and Radium glowed, "I'm using these two monsters to build the Overlay Network." The two shot into the air, before flying into the black hole that appeared on the ground. "Destiny is the thing that binds us together, now new bonds will be formed and grant unbridled power." The black hole exploded, releasing Flash's monster. "I XYZ SUMMON!"
The light faded revealing Flash's monster. "Destiny Bound Dragon!" (A2400/D2100/R4)
"Almost there," Cold said.
"Next," Flash said, "I activate Magna Caster Exitium's Pendulum Ability." His monster raised his staff and waved it, unleashing an unusual energy which radiated around Destiny Bound Dragon. "Now I can change Destiny Bound Dragon's Rank into a Level," Flash explained as his dragon's glow died down. (A2400/D2100/L4)
Flash then turned to look at his other Pendulum Monster. "Now I'll activate Magna Caster Estella's Pendulum Ability, to increase Destiny Bound Dragon's Level by three." The wizard waved her wand and unleashed the stardust, which spiralled around Destiny Bound and caused it to glow. (A2400/D2100/L7)
"Do it!" Cold called out.
"You asked for it," Flash said as his Extra Deck opened and a card slotted out. However, when Flash's fingers grasped the card he suddenly froze as he felt his whole go stiff.
Cold grew concerned when he saw this and even more so when he heard Flash begin to scream, as he threw his hands up to his head. Suddenly he fell to his knees, his face hidden through view.
"Sentry!" Cold said trying to get his attention, "Sentry...FLASH!"
Flash's face suddenly shot up, revealing that his eyes were once again the crimson red colour they were when he faced Garble. Flash then stood up and smiled a wicked smile, as dark clouds began to form above them.
"Now!" Flash said darkly as his monsters glowed, "I'll Overlay my Flash Heart Dragon and Destiny Bound Dragon to build the Overlay Network!" His two monsters transformed into streams of light, shot up to the sky and into the clouds as black hole formed within them. "Light and darkness, hope and despair, creation and destruction," Flash chanted and the black hole grew bigger, "two sides of the same coin. But when they're all brought together, they create...ABSOLUTE CHAOS!"
As Flash slapped the card onto his Duel Disk, black sparks surged from it.
The black hole exploded with light, releasing the monster that was inside. "I XYZ SUMMON!"
Finally the light faded and the clouds disappeared, revealing Flash's monster. "DESCEND, CHAOS COMMAND DRAGON!" (A3000/D2500/R7/P4)
Cold stared up at the Xyz Monster before looking down at Flash, whose eyes were still bright red.
"You're not Flash," he said.
"What gave it away," Flash said with a smirk.
Meanwhile upstairs, it was Micro's turn against Shadow.
"Here goes," he said as he went to his deck, "I draw." He looked at the card he'd gotten and smiled. "I summon every Galaxy Hero's favourite sidekick, Star Boy!" In a flash of light a young boy of around ten or twelve appeared, wearing a superhero outfit with star patterns on it. He wore a white cape with a yellow insignia of a shooting star on it. (A500/D500/L2)
"That monster won't help you," Shadow told him.
"Won't it," Micro said, "because I'm using his special ability, which lets me increase the Level of a Galaxy Hero by one until the end phase." Star Boy took something out of his belt, which he unfolded into a star shape and then threw at Lady Moon. The star glowed as it spun around the Galaxy Hero, causing her to glow as well. (A1200/D800/L5) "And now," Micro said, "I'll tune my Level two Star Boy with Level Five Lady Moon!" Star Boy leapt into the air, before transforming into two spheres of light which carved a pair of circles. "Heroes unite your power and become a beacon, which will summon the greatest defender in the galaxy." The two monsters disappeared in a flash of light, "I SYNCHRO SUMMON!"
The light faded, revealing a monster in a bright red superhero suit with gold armour covering it. He wore a pair of gold gauntlets and boots, along with gold chest armour and a bright gold cape flowing down his back. On his head was a golden helmet which covered all but his mouth, with a red visor blocking his eyes. "Galaxy Hero, Captain Supernova!" (A2600/D1500/L7)
Luna: First a Fusion Summon and now a Synchro Summon. This kids got skill.
"Maybe," Shadow said, "but your monster still can't beat mine."
"You sure," Micro said as he pointed at his monster. Captain Supernova's armour began to glow. (A4200/D1500/L7)
"Hey," Shadow said, "why'd its ATK points go up."
"You see," Micro said, "Galaxy Hero Captain Supernova gains four hundred ATK points for each Galaxy hero in my graveyard. So with four of them in there, he gained twelve hundred ATK points."
Shadow glared at him, not having expected that.
"Now Captain Supernova," Micro called out, "attack Shadow-Mech Fusion Bot!" The superhero flew into the sky, before flames appeared in his gauntlet hands. He take the same stance a pitcher takes in a baseball match, before throwing the fast ball at the robot.
The fireball struck and caused an explosion, which engulfed the Shadow-Mech and sent Shadow flying back.
Shadow: 2400
Micro: 2000
"And now for Supernova's ability," Micro said, "which deals you damage equal to your monsters ATK points."
Shadow's eyes went wide hearing this, as he looked up and saw the monster create another fireball.
Celestia: If this ability works, Micro will have defeated Shadow.
Shadow looked around and saw an Action Card inside the monitor of a computer. As the Synchro Monster threw its fiery fastball at him, he leaped towards it and the second his fingers touched the glass it disappeared.
The fireball struck, causing an explosion which engulfed Shadow.
Everyone watched in anticipation, wondering whether Shadow had really been defeated. When the smoke cleared, it showed Shadow completely unharmed.
Shadow: 800
Micro: 2000
"How?" Micro asked.
"I got the Action Card Firewall," Shadow explained, "which cuts any Effect Damage I take in half."
Luna: Oh, so close.
Celestia: A lucky card saved Shadow there.
"That's not all," Shadow said, "I can now add a monster from my deck whose ATK points are equal to or lower then the damage I took." His deck shuffled before slotting out a card, which he took.
"Fine," Micro said, "I end my turn."
"Then I'll go," Shadow said as he reached for his deck and drew his card. Seeing what he'd got made him smile, before looking over at Micro. "Time to end this," he said, "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and two lights shot out and struck the ground.
The first was a green off road jeep, which transformed into a bulky six meter robot. "Shadow-Mech Rover!" (A1500/D2000/L5)
The second was a bright red motorcycle, which transformed into a three meter high robot. "Shadow-Mech Doom Cycle!" (A1200/D700/L3)
"What's he planning?" Micro asked. Neither of those monster could defeat his.
"And now," Shadow said, "I'm tuning my Level three Doom Cycle with my Level five Rover!" Doom Cycle leapt into the air, before transforming into three spheres of light which carved a trio of light circles that Rover leapt into as he transformed into his vehicle mode. The two monsters suddenly disappeared in a powerful burst of light "I SYNCHRO SUMMON!"
The light faded, revealing the new monster. It looked just like Fusion Bot and Xyz Bot, only its armour was bright silver. It suddenly began to transform, before becoming the ten meter high robot. "Shadow-Mech Synchro Bot!" (A3100/D1400/L8)
"Oh no," Micro said.
"And now I attack!" Shadow said as his monsters chest opened up and folded the lance like weapon out. "And I'm sure you've already figured out what happens when Synchro Bot attacks a Synchro Monster." A beam of light flew out and struck Captain Supernova, causing him to flinch in pain as his power was depleted. (A0/D0/L7) "FIRE!" The lance fired a silver beam of energy, which flew towards the Galaxy Hero.
Micro looked around and saw an Action Card inside another computer, which he rushed towards in a hopes of getting it. As he leapt towards the monitor, the blast struck Supernova.
BOOOM!
An explosion rocked the stadium, causing everyone to duck and cover for fear of being blown away.
When the smoke finally cleared, everyone looked down into the arena and saw Shadow standing over Micro, whose clothes were tattered and his glasses were smashed.
Shadow: 800 (Winner)
Micro: 0
Celestia: We have a winner. Shadow will be moving onto the final round of the B Block tournament.
Luna: Micro did well, but Shadow just did better.
Shadow smiled as he turned and retreated back into the stadium.
"Man," Rainbow said, "I can't stand that guy."
"He's good," Applejack said.
"But at least now we know what to expect from him," Rarity said.
Celestia: Next up is the last match of the day. Twilight Sparkle will face off against Adagio Dazzle.
Luna: Both Duelists please report to the arena.
Everyone looked over at Twilight, whose head was still down looking at her hands.
"Twilight," Spike said.
"I'll be fine," Twilight said as she suddenly stood up, "I can do this."
It's time for Twilight to face off against Adagio. Will she succeed, or will the power of Dark Siren be to much?
