Chapter 23
Dangling On Strings part 1
*Location: Earth, Fairgrounds, Night 2*
Excalibur was walking through the streets with Skyler and her little sister as they made their way to the fairgrounds. After last night’s incident, the group promised to never speak of it again, which was difficult when Skyler questioned him, a lot.
“Is it really that bad?” Cora asked as Excalibur whimpered as Skyler just glared at him
“I can’t use my Warframe, unless I tell her,” Excalibur explained
“What’s so bad about that? Just tell her, my sis can be a bit… stubborn,” Cora responded as Skyler smacked her on the back of the head “Ow! My point made,”
Excalibur then leaned in close as and whispered it to her as Cora’s eyes widened before whistling.
“You’re dead.” She added bluntly as he nodded, then his phone buzzed
“This better not be Volt, or I swear,” Excalibur groaned as he answered the phone “Hello-“
Skyler and Cora kept walking as they then noticed Excalibur still standing still, they both turned back as Skyler looked at him with irritation.
“What could it be now?” She asked but then saw the scared look on his face, nothing but anger and terror as Skyler’s expression changed to one of fear “Cal? What is it?”
He slowly hung up the phone as he clicked his figners and his armour consumed him, he then brought his Skana out as Skyler looked right at his visor.
“Excalibur! What’s wrong!?” She asked with worry
“Equip your armour, now.” He said hollowly as she raised a brow
“Why?” She asked back as Cora just looked around to make sure no one was around
“They have one of our teammates,”

Somewhere in Canternlot. . .
When Excalibur arrived with Skyler, he brought Nekros, Valkyr and Rhino with him as they landed on the road. Many people had come to view the commotion and before them all was the Tenno. And the commander.
“Good to see you again, Tenno leader!” Blitz welcomed as Excalibur walked forward but guns clicked and he stopped “Sorry, can’t risk our little deal ending in blood,”
“Give our friend back!” Excalibur snapped as he clicked his fingers, not taking his eyes off the Tenno
When the men approached, the Tenno gasped, she was covered in blood from her wounds, her helmet was broken and revealed her face, nothing but fear was written all over it.
“Tri-Trinity? It’s gunna be ok, just hold on,” Excalibur reassured as she looked but a gave a small nod and smile
“Now, for your end of the bargain, one piece of your fine equipment! Nothing much for a little soul,” Blitz said casually as Excalibur looked back and saw Nekros clenching his fist
Valkyr’s finger twitched and Rhino held his shotgun tight, Excalibur then sighed as he threw his Lex over to him, it skidded to a halt at Blitz’s feet as he picked it up and inspected it.
“A fine gun, should help for the cause,” He said happily
“Now. Give. Her. Back.” Excalibur said sternly as he shrugged
“Ok, ok, I get your angry, so let her go!” He ordered as the men shoved her forward as Trinity got to her feet and slowly made her way over “One small problem,”
*BANG*
"NO!!!" Many screamed out as they saw the smoke trail from the Lex
“You didn’t say alive,” He spoke coldly as they all stared in shock and even some spectators gasped at the sight, Trinity slowly reached her hand out but then went limp as Excalibur slid forward and grabbed her
“No! dammit, No!” He yelled as he tried to hold the wound shut, his armour now staining with blood “Trinity! Trinity!!”
Excalibur then saw her rest her hand on the side of his mask, a smile still on her face.
“I’m sorry,” She whispered as Excalibur felt something sting in his chest “Goodbye…”
Then her arm fell onto her lap, and the air was silent, no one dared speak as Valkyr and Skyler sobbed quietly. Then they all looked up to the sound of laughing.
“You see! these freaks aren’t so tuff! We bloody ripped through her armour after about 30 minutes, but I guess she’s just another waste of life, a shame, real shame,” Blitz commented as he clicked his fingers
Behind Skyler and man appeared and pinned her to the ground as he held a gun to her head. The other didn’t dare move as guns pointed at them.
“I guess you’ll all have to make do,” Blitz grinned as he saw Trinity’s body rest on the ground and Excalibur standing up
“So, you treat life like an object? You dare to spit on life’s great gift like your own prize,” He said hollowly as he dashed towards the man holding Skyler down and shoved his fist right through the man’s chest as he gasped
“You will all die here,” Excalibur finished as he clapped his hands together and formed his energy sword, pure black, just like the night
Excalibur then dashed towards another as he tried to aim but found his arm to be missing as he screamed, then his other arm was sliced clean off as blood flew, then he froze as Excalibur sliced his torso from his waist as it slid slightly but Excalibur kicked the top half flying towards the pavement.
Many either ran or screamed as they watched Excalibur hack and slash at the soldiers as they fell, one-by-one. Excalibur then finished one off by grabbing the sides of his head and crushing his skull as the sound of flesh and bone tore and cracked.
Then only Blitz remained as Excalibur turned to face him, raising his sword in his direction.
“Your next, you are just like the Orokin, murders, torturers, thinking they are pure and we are the dirt, not anymore,” Excalibur spoke, his words cold as ice as they pierced into the soul of Blitz but he raised the Lex and fired
Nothing. As Excalibur kept moving, Blitz then unloaded all the shots into Excalibur as they tore right through his armour, but all they did was make him walk faster. Excalibur was then face to face with Blitz as he grabbed his wrist and broke it.
“Pathetic,” Excalibur spat as Blitz grabbed his knife and threw it into Excalibur’s neck, his did nothing
He watched in horror as Excalibur slowly twisted and pulled the knife out of his neck and threw it. He then leaned down and grabbed his Lex, before cutting the armour right off Blitz’s chest as he fell back from the shock. Excalibur then kicked back a few feet and into a wall.
His sword then disappeared as he reloaded the Lex, Blitz then felt unimaginable pain course through his leg as he felt the bullet pass through. Then another strike of pain in his other leg as he grit his teeth.
Excalibur then lined it up before something grabbed him from behind. It tightened around his armour as he was about to attack but heard sobbing.
“Just stop, please stop, no more killing,” Skyler begged as Excalibur looked back and saw the others just staring at him and through their helmets he knew they all looked terrified, of him
Excalibur hand shook as he fought against all the rage that had built up.
“He will pay!”
“In prison, but killing him, won’t make the pain stop, please,” Skyler begged as she buried her face in his armour
Excalibur then looked at his armour, coated in so much blood, just like before and here he stood once more, he was a monster, a freak with no sense, for now atleast. He fired his Lex.
Then all turned to the massive hole in the wall beside Blitz as he froze from the attack then his gaze hardened.
“Come on! Finish me off! You know you-“
“NO!!!” Excalibur snapped, as he looked around and only they remained, the streets were clear and the sound of sirens could be heard, then his helmet and armour deactivated “Enough blood has been spilt, and you will die for them all,”
Excalibur then held Skyler close as he felt tears fall down his face. Rhino held onto Trinity’s body tightly as Valkyr ran up and held Excalibur close as he slowly and shakily walked away.
“Neckros. . . Sick him!” Excalibur ordered as he clicked his finger and the remaining bodies of the soldiers glowed with shadows as they slowly crawled over towards the Commander as he watched in fear
“Chow Time!” Nekros spoke coldly as he walked away

“When the police and reinforcements arrived, only bloody stains could be found, no evidence of bodies were recovered and the military organization ‘Orokin’ was shut down.”
“Many say the Tenno were responsible, but that one of their own members was murdered after trying to gain her back.”
“All we can do now is honour the deaths of the military and even the Tenno’s ally and may they all rest in peace,”

“Aww come on! There’s no way I could have won!” Said a male voice from the distance void as he huffed and another voice laughed
“You lost, so that means you own me dinner tonight!” Came a cheery female voice as the other groaned
“Why can’t you just go with Valkyr!?” The boy snapped in annoyance
“Because its way more fun to see you try! Besides I already did that with Stalky, so it’s your turn!” She responded, this made him cry out in fear even more
