Chapter 10 Mind Over Matter Part 1

Nekros stood in the hall surrounded by zombified students as Loki, Fluttershy, Skyler and Mesa watched from above in fear as Nekros held his Reaper at the ready for the next attack.

*BANG*

Nekros along with everyone else was blinded by a bright light as Nekros dropped his Reaper in attempt to clear his vison. As his vison came back he saw his Reaper was gone.

“Oh hell no he did not just touch my scythe! i'ma stab a bitch!” Nekros cursed as he then felt something lift him as he saw Excalibur holding his Reaper as he lifted Nekros with the other as he pinned him agenst a wall

“Crawl your way out of this,” A more sinister Excalibur said as he lifted the Reaper and soon brought it down as the others screamed

*2 Hours Before*

“Soooo boooored,” Valkyr wined in annoyance as Excalibur rolled his eyes as the others did the same

“Well don’t worry only 2 more hours of nothing and we’re done,” Nekros said flatly as Mesa just twirled a pen around in her fingers

“Well could be worse,” She said simply as Skyler just sat glaring at Nekros as she rapidly tapped her desk “Scratch that with her on the verge of snapping I doubt we’ll make it,”

“Which reminds me how did you get a lunch detention with us Skyler?” Valkyr asked as Skyler stopped and pointed at Nekros as he shrugged his shoulders

“Well ‘That’ idiot decided to try pick locking Volt’s locker but I tried to stop him but ended up getting dragged down with him,” She explained as she looked down "Along with the lockers..."

“Hey he tried to steal something from me so I decided to return the favour,” Nekros chimed in as he held out a small box “Confetti bomb, Pinkie hooked me up,”

“So that explains the massive bag of gold she had,” Excalibur said as it dawned on him as the other face palmed before a group of students barged through the door and locked it

It was Fluttershy, Chroma, Dash, Loki, Applejack and Pinkie and when they turned they all yelled before stopping and sighing for some reason.

“Um guys what’s going on?” Excalibur asked as they tried to calm down and then Loki spoke up

“Well me, Dash, Mirage and Pinkie were preparing a prank for Volt and Ember but then noticed some students approach us in a weird way,” Loki explained as he thought before continuing “When Mirage went to see what’s wrong the grabbed her and soon something affected her and she tried to do the same!”

“They were like freaky-zombie-things!” Pinkie said in a nutshell as Skyler looked outside the door and saw what they were talking about as she saw Mirage, Ember and Volt amongst the crowd

“Yep definitely something,” She confirmed as the others freaked out before Excalibur looked away with a very pissed off face as he clenched his fist before sighing and quickly jumped into action

“Right then Nekros, you, me and Mesa are going to get help, the rest of you try to avoid contact with them until help arrives,” Excalibur ordered as some nodded whist some refused

“No I’m coming too and you can’t stop me!” Skyler snapped as Excalibur knew what she meant but sighed

“No I need you here because you have experience in the field unlike most so you’re their best shot at surviving this until we’re back ok?” Excalibur explained as she frowned but nodded

“Ok we’ll be back!” Excalibur said as he along with Mesa and Nekros jumped out the window as they ran off and Skyler clapped her hands

“Ok we need to get anything that can protect us from contact, then after, we’ll go find anyone else whose still among the living so to speak,” Skyler explained as Valkyr poked her

“I think its mind control,” She said as Valkyr pointed at their heads that seemed to have a small turquoise field around it as Chroma pulled them back as a hand smashed through the glass startling them

“Be more careful,” He said as they nodded and Chroma quickly lifted a table and placed it agenst the glass

“So how do you think we get out of here?” Loki asked as he looked around for something to protect himself with as the others began to look around also

After they found some things to protect most of their body they waited until they all heard something smash into the wall beside the wind as Mesa and Excalibur flew in with Nekros by the leg as they dropped him.

“Who put that wall there?” He moaned as he got back up and brought out his Reaper

“So what seems to be the problem?” Excalibur asked as Skyler smiled and the others stared in awe (Not the other Tenno)

“Well there seems to be some freaky mind control zombies that if touched will turn you into zombies as well!” Pinkie responded rapidly as everyone just blinked

“That actually makes a lot of sense,” Nekros said as he looked out the door as he batted a zombie on the head “One,”

"Really, what part of no casualties is hard for you to understand?" Excalibur asked in annoyance

"Well you said an non-hostiles, that was definitely not innocent," He retorted as he soul punch a group into a wall "Six,"

“Alright so lets see, we have an entire school turned zombie,” Skyler started

“And the fact that there may be survivors,” Nekros added

“And we know that only two Warframes are capable of mind control and magnetic abilities,” Excalibur finished as he remembered what (Nyx) and (Mag) could do and agenst others it was a deadly combo, then Valkyr piped up breaking his train of thought

“That’s it! If we all split into 3 groups we could cover more ground and fix this problem faster!” She said as she crossed her arms in amusement as Excalibur hit his fist into his palm

“Ok then 1 team will go after the two hive-mind Tenno, another team will go after an survivors as not to add to the numbers and the other will make sure that none of these zombies get out of this school,” Excalibur explained as Pinkie zipped around everyone before stopping

Excalibur, Chroma, Dash and Pinkie all wore a blue fabric around their upper arm. Nekros, Applejack and Skyler all had red and Valkyr, Mesa and Fluttershy wore yellow.

“So what’s this pinks?” Dash asked as she looked at the fabric

“It’s how we know which teams we’re in silly, The Commander (Excalibur) oversees finding the two nasty Tennos in charge of this mess!” She explained before pointing at Nekros

“Scary-reaper-man oversees rescue and Valky oversees stopping any from escaping, see!?” She finished as Excalibur laughed

“I swear if I wasn’t a low life Tenno I’d hire you!” Excalibur joked as Nekros shrugged

“We’re going to die, aren’t we?” he asked bluntly as everyone then looked around in silence as Excalibur walked up to the door and turned to face them all

“look I know this is a lot to ask of you, especially since some of you aren’t even solders, but right now this school, your friends need your help!” Excalibur spoke as they all listen intently “Now let me tell you something that my old teacher used to tell me. Strength and toughness are two different things,”

“Strength is the power that someone wields, but toughness is the power to keep going, and to keep pushing yourself past your limit, being tuff means to keep fighting for what you believe in,” Excalibur finished

They all just stared at him, unable to decide. Applejack walked up first and stood beside him with a smile.

“Am with ya on this, anything to save ma friends,” She responded as Nekros just shrugged and walked up as well with Valkyr and Mesa

“Fuck it, ive followed you for this long,” Nekros said plainly as the others soon joined as Excalibur smiled under his helmet and Mesa pointed her Vasto at him

"So what's the bet this time eh?" She asked as Excalibur looked at her

"Most incapacitates wins," He said simply as Mesa loaded in stun rounds before holding them to the sides of her face

"You're on!" She challenged

“Ok then,” Excalibur said as he smashed the door open and they entered the hall with a handful of students

“Let’s do this!” Dash shouted as the other yelled in unison as they all stood together, but the battle for their school had only just begun
