Review : Cozy Glow's Punish-...err, Reformation · 11:39am May 11th, 2019

Spoilers for season 8 finale.

After reforming Luna, Discord, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Gilda, Stygian, and others, our heroes are going to punish an ordinary, albeit nefarious, filly by sending her to Tartarus for all eternity in the company of adult villains?

Yeahhhh...no, just...no.

Crystal Aura’s Opinion

The story was a short one & it was rather nice enough. It revolves around the other possibilities of Cozy getting a Punish-...err, Reformation. Although, it has all been said & done & Cozy had been sentenced to Tartarus, it just doesn’t feel right. I mean, she’s a little filly for Celestia’s sake! Surely there must be better way to go about it. And one such way is in this story here. With a little bit of quirkiness from our Friendship Princess, this story takes place in an alternate universe, wherein they discuss before they take any action. The story’s been well written & if any of you want an alternate ending to Cozy’s tragedy, do check this story out!

Had a lovely read outta this. Would recommend this to those who wanted a better ending. Also for those who wanted a little Shimmer entrance :raritywink:

“Nice!

It's ironic because of just how similar Cozy Glow and pre-redemption Sunset Shimmer are.

Definitely would've been a better ending.

The only problem is they (the studio) don't really do crossovers... Even with Equestria Girls. (I think they actually stated that a EqG-FiM crossover would never happen.)

10/10 For clever story-telling, and originality! (Most other Cozy Glow redemption stories involve MLP: FiM former villains, you up'd the ante!)”

“Really, Cozy Glow got off easy; she at least has a shot at turning this around.

They straight-up killed Sombra.”

“Most of the so-called reformed villains, aren't villains. They're antagonists. Most of the reformed ponies/creatures were often lonely or hurting and were lashing out. Cozy Glow was a power hungry megalomaniac who was willing to sacrifice anyone, and abuse the power of friendship in her quest to become more powerful. Tirek wasn't reformed and neither was Sombra. Not everyone is reformable. Besides Chancellor Neighsay was reformed.”

“One thing all these arguments against locking cozy In Tartarus fail to realize is that for all we know, There is no other prison, there is no mental health institutions. We can think that their world functions similar to ours but we do t have anything to back it up. Now it’s fine if you’re interpretation views it like that, just don’t say it is fact. Heck, I think Cozy should’ve at least been given a bigger cage because that small one is inhumane (inponane?) but again that’s assuming. Also consider this, Was Starlight posing any immediate danger to Equestria? No, the only Ponies affected by her were the villagers and Twilight’s friends. Now we can say that she almost destroyed Equestria with her time traveling stunt, However, these other Universes already existed. It’s the magic of the multiverse theory, Starlights tampering Just showed Twilight how those futures could happen, her own time and present would still be there, she just had to beat Starlight to get back to it. Compare that to Cozy, who, think about it, posed such a big threat to Equestrian national security and way of life that the Army has to be called in, not the police, the ARMY. that’s when you know Cozy’s stunt was no small deal. (Plus from what we’ve seen of Tartarus, it’s just a cave. Just a big cave with spooky red rocks, nowhere near the exaggerations of hell we’ve been labeling it as) Also, to anyone who says she was shoehorned in at the last second needs to take a look at her appearances since ep 12, she was CLEARLY not chosen to be the villain at the last second. I will also echo the sentiment of others and say I don’t think she’s as old as she claims to be, entirely POSSIBLE that she is in fact older, but super short and stunted in growth. But take that with a grain of salt, again, no proof.”

FullMoon

“This is actually a really interesting and reasonable idea. While I don't agree that Cozy and Sunset's situations are the same (let's face it, cozy glow is seriously messed up and cannot by any means just be a normal filly and is probably a literal demon in disguise) it would be fair to think that Sunset could have a chance at reforming her.

The only worries there are if the mirror is left open so cozy can sneak back or if the Equestrias girl world has real dangerous weapons like guns and etc”

MJP

“A villain reforms - fans complain they didn’t get a proper punishment

A villain is punished - fans think the punishment wasn’t fair and they should have been reformed

It’s almost as if he’s a hypocrite or spmething”
