The absent-minded casual approach for Hitch's storytelling was a good decision!
I see that Owlowiscious is the drill that will pierce the heavens. 😂
Owlowiscious' voice was very poignant in this story. Honestly, I'm not quite up to snuff on all the G5 shenanigans re: Opaline yet, so this was definitely an interesting one for me to parse. Overall, I think you accomplished what you set out to do: this is a light-hearted crackfic-ish one-shot that serves that purpose well.
Like Novelle Tale, I haven't caught up on G5 yet, so I'm not entirely sure what's canon here vs not (aside from some of the obvious things, like Opalescence reappearing to steal the Unity crystals, lol). I also agree with SparklingTwilight that having all the drama be translated through Hitch -- with accompanying commentary -- was a fun way of doing it! I don't often see people take advantage of Hitch/Fluttershy's special talents that way.
I enjoyed Owlowliscious' stubborn insistence on bringing the Wonderbolts back, and how clearly proud he was to be one -- that was a very fun way to tie this story into the theme of the prompt. :D Shame about the Sonic Rainboom not working out, though.
