Okay, now I know the empty bottle of whiskey on my desk 'looks' bad, but there's a perfectly sober explanation.

This story is a sequel to In Good Company

While this story is set within the “In Good Company” universe, reading the previous stories is not necessary. This story is entirely self-contained.

In the wake of the Changeling Invasion, Princess Celestia may or may not have formed a secret agency concealed within the ranks and bureaucracy of the Royal Guard. Its task may or may not be: to locate, isolate and help the Royal Guard incarcerate the Queen of the Changelings for crimes against Equestria.

The agency may or may not be called simply “the Agency.” And their mission may or may not be going all too well.

Stricken with budget cuts and scrutiny thanks to what may or may not be a lack of progress on their original task, the ponies of the Agency may or may not be plunging flanks-first into a conspiracy that may or may not spell the end of harmony in Equestria as they know it.

Will the ponies of the Agency be able to save the world? I can of course neither confirm nor deny any such success or failure without Princess Celestia’s express approval.

Lance Corporal Sure-Shot – a unicorn fresh out of the Sol Guard academy, intended to be one of Princess Celestia’s elite protectors – is transferred to Shield Team of the Twilight Guard. Under Corporal Steel Block and accompanied by privates Mercury and Brute Force, the lance corporal will serve as Princess Twilight Sparkle’s elite close-guard on a diplomatic mission to Saddle Arabia.

And in keeping with the usual 'first mission' tradition, all sorts of dookie hits the fan.

The fragile walls of the multiverse are collapsing and rainbow-bridges are dumping creatures who do not belong into Equestria. Ponies soon find their existence plagued by monsters, b-movie killers, robots, land sharks and humans with poor personal hygiene (and fedoras for some strange reason).

But there’s a glimmer of hope in the form of a magnificently bearded, professional trash-talking, operator-as-fuck, freedom spreading, whiskey chugging, cat rescuing, hipster blasting, manly-man.

Hide your daughters and pray for mercy. Mat Best is here to save the motherfuckin’ day.

Rated Teen for so much silliness and oodles of freedom.

The headhunters came, saved the day, and then they left. But in their wake they not only left a pile of Covenant bodies – they left Princess Twilight Sparkle with a spark of wonder. An interest in the galaxy that surrounded her little home planet; an interest in the lurking dangers and the magnificent wonders of the universe.

Unfortunately it seems some of the danger and wonder is coming to visit Equis. So it’s time for the bookish shut in to throw herself into the galaxy to find the warriors who would help her defend her home.

What has four legs, wears a bullet-proof vest, can hear you through a solid concrete wall and has a set of highly-trained fangs that can exert up to seven-hundred pounds of pressure per square inch?

In Equestria, there are lots of things like that. But only one of them stands at Princess Luna's side, protecting Equestria as he once protected his own world.

His name is Bungee, and he is a Military Working Dog.

It has been a year since Lieutenant Rourke threatened the harmony of Equestria. But the thing about danger; it's always lurking. A long forgotten foe rises against the land. An ancient threat that has been plotting her revenge since the dawn of Equestria.

The reclamation has begun. And it falls upon the faithful dog to stop it.

Billy Blaze was more than just an average eight year old boy. He was a hero on – quite literally – a stellar scale. As Commander Keen he protected not just the Earth, but the whole galaxy from danger. He thwarted the Vorticon invasion and freed the Vorticons from slavery at the hands of his arch nemesis and classmate, Mortimer McMire. He stopped the vicious Shikadi from destroying the galaxy. Keen even saved his babysitter, Molly McMire from the hostile planet of Fribbulus Xax where she was almost eaten by carnivorous Bloogs.

And then... nothing.

His arch nemesis disappeared. There were no more impending invasions to thwart. No more galactic danger. No more babysitters being kidnapped by hungry aliens. The adventures of Commander Keen became a memory. Billy grew up.

Seven years later. Billy Blaze is living a normal life like a normal teenager. He’s made new discoveries and didn’t have to travel halfway across the galaxy to make them. Sci-Fi conventions. Science fairs. Video games. Comic books... girls.

Billy has plenty to keep him busy in ‘normal’ life. Should he really be concerned about the fate of the universe too?

When his nemesis returns with plans of destruction on a universal scale, and in their battle Billy ends up stranded on an uncharted planet, the answer to that question seems to be an astounding ‘yes.’

A Commander Keen / MLP: Friendship is Magic crossover.

Marko and Ishmir are polar opposites. But that’s what makes the Spartans so good together. So good in fact they can take on a whole Covenant space station and win.

Unfortunately extraction didn’t go too well, and the headhunters find themselves stranded on an unexplored planet. Can Ishmir keep the peace with the locals and get the Spartans home; or will Marko cause an interstellar incident?

My money’s on the latter.

What has four legs, wears a bullet-proof vest, can hear you through a solid concrete wall and has a set of highly-trained fangs that can exert up to seven-hundred pounds of pressure per square inch?

One word; Bungee.

Bungee has been a Military Working Dog for as long as he can remember, trained from a pup and turned into a highly effective member of the armed forces. He sniffs out bombs, clears rooms, scouts compounds and assists with flanking manoeuvres to disable dangerous personnel. More than just military equipment; Bungee is a brother in arms. A warrior.

But when a mission goes wrong and Bungee chases a high-value-target through a magical portal; how will the German Shepherd adjust to life among talking ponies?

And how will he manage to complete his mission if he’s considered a pet instead of a soldier?

Rated Teen for violence.
