ooh it means I give you boops going towards either negative or positive infinity. On a graph (with the 4 quadrants) negative is left, because the x-values go towards an increasing number towards the negatives. An example: -1, -2, -3...etc. While positive is on the right, going from 1, 2, 3, etc.
