No way of knowing, where we'll be going, our adventures never end.

This story is a sequel to Car Wash

Ford Mustangs are made to be driven. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania is filled with scenic covered bridges that can be driven over. And little ponies love Mustangs and quaint, picturesque landscapes both. I wonder if cruising through the beautiful scenery of Amish country reminds them of home?

Sounds like a lovely day.

Edit: I cannot upvote?

I've been to Shady Maple a few times. The desserts are amazing. The other food is also quite good, and I expect the only reason why the Amish don't all have coronaries at 40 is because they do a lot more physical labor than most of us.

It's hard to argue with Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. The food's good, and you get plenty of it. I can say I've been to all of the following:

Shady Maple
Oregon Dairy (the starting point in this fic)
Hershey Farms (the finish line)
Yoder's
Dutchway

They're all good, but if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Yoder's, which is about ten minutes from Shady Maple. That said, I'd recommend sampling all of them. Shady Maple can't be beat when it comes to variety on offer, but I find them to be the priciest and the most crowded (totally a tourist trap). Oregon Dairy (BBQ meatloaf), Dutchway (mac & cheese and beef brisket), and Yoder's (potato filling) all have their specialties I love.

What can I say? I like food. :scootangel:

One of the regional foods is "scrapple" (It's in the sausage family of foods)
Prince of Whales (later Edward VII) visited Pennsylvania, he said
"I've forgotten whether I met Biddles (socially prominent family) and ate scrapple or met Scrapples and ate biddle"

The Mustang's my favorite car. Owning one has been on my bucket list since I was little. Thus, this story is an easy one for me to like, as is its predecessor. I had a chance to buy one, but had to pass it over in favor of something else for complicated reasons I won't get into. It was a rust-colored Foxbody GT convertible with a manual transmission.

and even a Ford Pinto.

I hope the owner is adept at shield spells.

My condolences that you had to pass on the Foxbody, and I hope you have the opportunity to have a Mustang (or, better yet, Mustangs!) at some point in the future.

Much like you, the Mustang's been my favorite car since before I can remember, so I always knew it wasn't a matter of 'if' but rather 'when' I finally got one.
