On Hiatus for College.

They were not at war. They were just trying to survive. They weren't doing what was wrong, they were just doing what had to be done to survive. That is what the 'Children of the Night' told temselves.

One October night Sonydon Song found herself pressed with a question from her younger cousin on the origin of the monsters of myth at the filly's school. The monsters however, are closer to home than the youngster could ever imagine. The battles of old, darker than a night without their Princess.

(This is intended to be a historic look on zombies. The dark tag is there for a reason. While it is fictionalized and ponified. The events are taken from Earth's history. There is nothing grafic described, but many things are alluded to.)

Special thanks to those who made this story possible. My Dad for encouraging the idea. Atlantean, for the stunning cover. And my editors, ShadowLDrago, MahoganyMLP, Diamond dust, and last but not least KillerRobotQuote. Thanks guys.

Way too long title. Sorry dude

6584971 Did you downvote his story because of that?

6584971 Rule is 5 words and under.

But I agree, the chapter title is longer than I wanted.

That was amazing! I never knew zombies had such a backstory- your story and authors note was very informative! It was a fun read and it kept me interested the whole time. Keep up the great work!

6585705 Thank-you. It's still a zombie story, but a whole new type. And that's the true story.

6586262 I really liked it. It really goes to show how awesome non-fictional stories are (and things based off fact, of course.)

Not bad. I like it. Though, if you don't like the title, you could possibly call it "Moonlit Falls?"

6586429 Personally I think James Kirk was based off of John Smith. You read the story of John Smith, then watch Star Trek... It's the same character in different circumstances.

6586560 I like the title. I know it's fashionable right now to keep titles around 2-3 words. But traditionally it's 10 words or less. The Lion, The witch, And the wardrobe is 7 words long. 5 and under is what is recommended. Yes, I pushed the limit, but I'm happy with it. The Zombie Wars, and Not at War were the other two I considered.

I'm getting a Lord of the Rings in a sci fi movie feel from this :derpytongue2: I like the term "Nightmares" that's really cute :pinkiehappy: Songbird's going to grow up to be a general or something, I can tell. She's got the drive. I'm new to bat ponies, so this is really interesting! :pinkiegasp:

6587295 Or something. I'm glad you enjoyed this story.

I didn't think it had a LOTR feel... But since that was my favorite series growing up, I'm not surprised it worked in.

6587814 I'll do the review tomorrow :pinkiehappy:

6588066 I'll be watching for it.

6683616 Many of the tribes down in South America were canibals across the line. It's hard to say if it was a tribe thing, or if it originated when the people got... messed up. You can't be sure, the story is too old.
