It's Been a While: Another Request for Help · 7:07pm Jun 3rd, 2022
Hey friends.
Sadly, I'm not here to talk about stories. Life honestly has been too hard to find time or energy to write. I'm dealing with a divorce, trying to get out of Blizzard and into a healthy company, and fighting so hard to work remotely that it took 9 months and a new diagnosis of PTSD to get them to let me have an accommodation under the ADA Guidelines and so much more. Life has been hell.
Instead, I'm coming here, yet again, to ask for your aid. I'm trying to move the family to Portland, where we may be able to actually afford to live and maybe start over. And I need help. Divorces are expensive. So's moving out of state.
Even some signal boosting would be so appreciated.
Thank you and I love you all. <3

Boosted.
I'll help.
All greater gaming companies are terrible. Ubisoft, blizzard-activision, EA, Daybreak they all suck this includes project red. they all suck!!! and we all know it. Ubisoft I heard that they abuse employies same with EA, blizzard activision, and daybreak who made everquest more worse than etc... konami is also the worst for making kojima to leave. OMG the game companies are more abusive these days.
EA killed star wars... Ubisoft killed ghost recon... Blizzard killed world of warcraft (shadowlands expansion), Daybreak cut down abilities in everquest. Sqaure-enix took away belts in final fantasy 14... project red still fixing cyber-punk 2077.
Vampire masqurade 2 bloodlines fired or kick out a guy who been working on that game for 5 years.
I still owe you for reinspiring me those years ago. It's not a lot, but I hope it helps get you to a better place.
Just shot you some money, stay strong and good luck. I don't know what it is you're organizing at the moment, but if you're looking to get a different job in game development, I'd recommend Panic, as they're definitely a much better work environment and also in Portland. Doesn't seem like they're hiring right now, but maybe you could keep an eye open.
Oh, dear; good luck!
Can’t give much but I sincerely hope your move comes swiftly and things get better for you and your family.

Well, you can live on the street for a few years waiting until perfect comes along or you can take the lesser evil. I'd guess she already found an employer if she decided on Portland... But that isn't the point of this. The point is she's trying to rebuild her life in a healthier environment and she's trying to get help to make it a less painful change.
I can't afford to help out, my roommate just got his hours slashed into oblivion but I wish you guys the best of luck. I know how hard it can be starting over, stay strong and you'll pull through just fine.

Honestly, that's an over-exaggeration and only works if you see the company as this giant corporation instead of actual people. The people I work with on a daily basis are flipping awesome and I love them. Most people there just wanna make cool games. Leadership is another thing entirely, and that's not something I wanna dig into.
The truth is it also depends dramatically on what role you have. If you're CS or QA, it's not going to be super fun a lot of the time. If you're a developer with a AAA project, then it might be awesome or it might be a nightmare.
Being inside the industry makes me see more than just the articles that are published. There's so much more to companies than that and most people just wanna do their job, have fun and make cool stuff. <3

Actually, I kinda forced my company to allow me to work remotely (under ADA guidelines). But yes, I am very much trying to build a whole new life.

Thank you all!!! The good news is that things are in motion job-wise. In fact, I already landed a new position and there's the potential for more change. But that's the future. Thank you all for helping me with the now.

Ah, you're welcome, and I'm glad things have improved and appear to be continuing to do so. :)

No problem. Hope things get easier for you from here.
I'll help out. You've been a wonderful friend to me. I feel this is what I should do to try and be at least a good friend to you. Best of luck in the move.
