I called it, didn't I? · 8:21am Nov 26th, 2014
So, the whole school are alternates of the ponies of Equestria, and it is heavily implied there's a second Twilight Sparkle in this world as well. But knowing her, she graduated 4 years early and is already on her way to a second PhD; plenty of reason for her not to make an appearance in a high school
Totally called it

As 2617516 said, September called. It wants its shocking reveal back.
I didn't notice the spike dog in the corner when I seen the movie. I mean it would be obvious there would be one, but I wonder. Does original dog Spike talk?
2617616
He barks. It gives the impression that human-world Spike is just an animal, which seems like it could make all sorts of awkwardness when pony-world Spike meets him. I imagine he might be a bit disappointed on meeting his alternate self. I mean, if everyone else's alternate is roughly analogous to their pony-world self, what does it mean when his alternate self is just a dumb pet?

Meh. This wasn't meant as 'shocking reveal'. That'd be kind of a dick move to people who hadn't seen the movie yet, especially now the blog post tile shows the first embedded image in the blog. Hence why I posted it only now, and not right after the movie came out

Yeeah, I thought that was kind of awful, to make him a dog rather than a little adopted brother or something
2617784 Maybe he's a genetically engineered super-dog? He's intelligent despite not being able to vocalize, as well as semi-indestructible (both blunt force and fire-resistance). He communicates by using his mouth to hold a pencil and write down what he wants to say, although Twilight can usually understand the gist of what he's barking; his main job is taking down notes for Twilight (she takes a lot of notes). Although he's Twilight's 'pet' (though she prefers to call him her 'assistant'), he was actually raised by Twilight's mentor, a highly eccentric polymath who sometimes dabbles in experimental genetics - his name is Dr. D.
This is now my headcanon until proven otherwise.
2617700 I'm curious to see how this will turn out.

Drakken? Well, blue-faced people aren't too abnormal, in this world
2618055 I knew I should have clarified in my original post.
I meant a humanized Discord; he'd be less evil, but more nuts. And possibly have a grafted eagle claw to replace the hand he lost in a fight with a beaver.

Meh. I prefer to think Discord is the somewhat crazy janitor of Canterlot High

In fairness, they hinted at a second Twilight in the first film, Rarity pointing out that she even had a dog called Spike.

Yeeah... that wasn't my point. At all. As I said in my original blog, "and it is heavily implied there's a second Twilight Sparkle in this world as well." What I called was the fact she wasn't in Canterlot High with the rest, despite logically being around the same age, because she's a fricking genius and she graduated ages ago
You haven't quite proven your precognitive powers yet.
After all, you predicted 'second PhD'. For all we know, this one could still just be working on her first doctorate.
2648150
True, I guess. But my point (as I said to Daniel-Gleebits just above) was mainly that she isn't in school anymore because she's way too bloody smart and studious to still be there. The "second PhD" thing was just me being extra flippant about it
