Rene Apple was a half-human and unicorn baseball player for Crystal Blue Sox her no was 15 the team manager later said "she was always looking for a place to call home and family she found it in the team" When war broke out she enlisted in the 30th crystal chasseurs and saw action in 1915 to 1918 and was promoted to Sargent during the attack on the dahlia hawthrone line part of the Nivelle offensive facing heavy machine gun fire she save many of her squad mates leaving her lieutenant for last on the return trip artillery stuck the area she shielded her commanding officer and took him back to safety and was awarded Croix de crystal for her actions in 1918 during the spring offensive she and her squad slowed down the offensive cost them time and men later in the war she took 1015 pows most from the griffon division she was award the pink heart of courage after the war she returns the team had an outstanding career got married to pharynx and have three children
