Simple and perfect.

Now that was good.
I previously had no idea that a 1k word story could be so deep and compelling. Now I know better.
Very nice. Moody, good message, solid execution. Give yerself a pat on the back.
I really enjoyed this story. I'm impressed at how you were able to convey such powerful feelings in relatively few words.
I love stories like this one. The word count is like the surface of a still pond. Then you step in and realize you're in a sinkhole miles deep.
Fantastic little story of the quest for reinvention. Thank you for it.
Before reading, I was having a bit of an existential crisis. I needed this to cool me down a bit
Man, I love you. For your stories...
Very nice story here. And you wrote it in an hour? Very impressive.
Damn... just...
... Damn.
This was a great early morning read! Have a 'Shy!
4635228 did you like the song?

I legitimately thought that was a real song sung by a group and went looking for the lyrics! As a singer and music nut, I ADORED IT!
ya
Ya = you [singular]; y'all = you all [you all] [plural].
You use it right 50% of the time. Only gripe I have on the fic, and only error I saw.

Nice song, and decent fic. All the y'alls were distracting and made the bartender look like he was full on retarded, but other than that it was decent for a short fic.
Odd, I didn't get a notice for you posting this. Oh well, onto the RiL it goes.
4639096 He's originally a guard from Canterlot. Maybe he's trying too hard.

Ah! The big northerner mistake of thinking that saying "y'all" makes you sound southerner. I thought the one who was the ex-guard was a budding comedian on the stage, not the bartender. If it was the guard, then it goes to cringe worthy territory.
Been wishing I could do what Octavia's for the past few years. It ain't fun.
So good and so relatable. I kind of wish Octavia stayed. I love it when city slickers and fancy folk end up in country towns. Yeehaw.
Just to let you know I made a small review and analysis for your story:

4641830 Thank you!
Not too bad. The song sounded pretty good when I put the lyrics to Apacolyptica's " I don't care" and improvised from there.
Simple, yet so powerful, this was an excellent story.
Sometimes, less is more. This story is a key example of that, in my humble opinion. A nice read, for what it was. Cheers
Singing while playing cello struck me as odd, but otherwise this was pretty darn good. :)
5045325 if anyone can do it it's Octavia glad you liked it!
Nice little short read, sometimes I've thought what it'd be like to start anew, do your own thing with no expectations. I still do want to do that, move to England, get an accent, learn something new, etc.
Little bit unrelated, has to do with letting go rather than starting anew, but here's an sea shanty for you.
Such a great atmosphereic piece.
Really nice. Very atmospheric, and I really liked Octavia's song.
5699202 Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Don't. Look. Back.
Good choice. That would make going back too easy.
She is a very distinct pony.
This was not what I was expecting. Assumptions I guess. Have this to Begin Again.
5093855 That's better than the Assassins' Creed version. Thanks for showing it.
This it one of those stories I will read again, and again...
I finally kept my promise to you and actually read on of your stories instead of just having them on 'Read Later'. Even if I'm a wee bit late.
It's very good.
Maybe even brilliant.
Combine that with you being a fantastic person, and you have made me like you even more.
6628857 Thank you! Glad you liked it!

You're very welcome.
(I just realised this is the second comment I have ever posted on a story... I normally send PMs...)
What a wondrous piece. Glad I finally read it!
