Part 21 to the Maybe series Follow the main character thought his newest trails as he tries to better understand the power he possess, and its affects on those he loves.
Part 21 in the Maybe series. This part takes place after much after the events of Maybe I always... "Nothing is ever simple." Twilights will power to not us magic is put to the test when trouble come knocking in Ponyville. Trust maybe the only thing our character can rely on.
To old readers I say this...Enjoy this series end and have fun waiting for the next one. To new readers I suggest going back and starting an an earlier part this way you're not confused.
You find yourself just nodding your head to everything Twilight says as she goes down today's list from memory. Instead of her voice you pay closer attention to her heavy hooves hitting the wood every step she takes on the hard library floor as she paces back and forth.
A smile crosses your face as you look over her protruding stomach. You hold your smile as you think over what the doctor said three weeks ago, he was right she did start showing only after a few weeks...but you didn't expect her to show like she is now.
You start to drift out of your daydream as you notice her staring at you.
"...Yes or no?"
You shake your head at voice.
She squints at you, "You weren't listening where you?"
You stare back at her for a moment, carefully planning the best possible excuse you can think of...takes too long, "I'm tired."
She rolls her eyes with a giggle, "Spike what else is on the list?"
The small purple dragon sitting next to you scratches his head as he looks over, "Uh...which list are we on today?"
Twilight gives an annoyed groan as she motions with her hoof, "This one Spike."
You watch as the list that Spike was holding is floated past you. Before it gets too far you swipe at it with your hooves and stop its traveling toward Twilight, "Doctor said no magic."
Twilight blows at the comment as she takes the list from your hoof, "That was like three weeks ago, I’m fine now." Twilight hold the list up to her face as she talks, "Besides I don't see how a simple telekinesis spell is magic."
You give a sarcastic laugh as you answer her, "Simple? How is any magic simple?"
She looks up from the list as she smiles, "You want me to explain it to you?"
You stare at her for a moment before you shake your head no.
She lifts her head up to show her victory, "Good because talking magic with you is a stress, and my books say a pregnant mare should stay away from stress." She smiles as she continues, "But you already knew that didn't you."
You stare at her act with a smile, "And didn’t they say to not eat too many sweets?"
She giggles at your comment, "Of course not. Did Pinkie ever bring those cupcakes by?"
You shift your body in front of the box that sits behind you, "Maybe."
She hovers the box off the table as she takes one out of the counters with her cheating purple magic. With a playful giggle she slowly floats it past you.
You give a sly smile as you wrap the cupcake in your own green grasp and burst it into flame.
Spike laughs as the charred cupcake falls back to the table.
You place your hoof on the box as you set it back to the table, "You said yesterday to not let you eat more than ten cupcakes a day."
As she goes back to her list you take a cupcake out of the box and hold it in your hoof as you tease her, "I think I would rather have emotional Twilight then overly planning Twilight." You move your snout closer to the cupcake but end up biting air as it floats to its puppet master.
"Oh Celestia don't remind me of that." She bites into the soft vanilla cupcake as she stops talking.
Spike smiles as he talks, "Twilight that’s eleven."
She swallows back the cupcake as she gives a giggle, "It's still early, something is bound to get me moving today."
You stare at your empty hoof as you think my cupcake...
Twilight looks back to the list as she continues down it, "...check...check...check..." she mumbles to herself as the list moves upward.
You roll you’re as the long list, "Twilight we have been using the same list all day, I think w...-"
"Ah ha!" She waves the list in front of you as she talks, "We forgot to put baby locks on the bath faucet."
You squint at the comment, "What?"
She rolls the list up as she nods to Spike, "We don't want the little colt hurting herself do we?"
You smile at the comment, which must look weird because she holds her eyebrow up to you awaiting your response, "You said colt."
Twilight taps her hoof to her mouth as she think, "You're right my bad, filly."
You stare at her with a larger grin, "Twilight, do you know?"
She puts the list on the table and gives a giggle as she continues to mess with you, "I don't know what she is going to be or what her coat colour is going to look like."
Your smile fades a little as you start to think, "Twilight it's not twins right?"
She turns as she talks, "Spike would you help me?"
Spike jumps from his seat as he follows her towards the stairs, "Yes ma'am."
You hold your head to her as she walks away, "Twilight," she ignores you as she walks away, "Twilight that’s not funny."
A knock at the door pauses your mind for the moment. As you get up you hear Twilight calling from upstairs, "Could you get that?"
You open the door to a deafening squeal, "hello!"
You stop for a second as you look to the small white filly jumping up and down in the doorway, "Hi Sweetie..."
Sweetie has her cutie mark crusaders cape on and is wielding a big smile as she looks at you, "where is Twilight?"
Rarity who stands a little behind her sister cuts in with her normal soft elegant tone, "Yes, um sorry it’s kind of late but Sweetie just wants to as Twilight a question."
You look to the sky for a second, you have gotten better at telling time from how the sky looks and you know that the day is well past noon. Which this makes you think, another day has been spent baby proofing the house.
You quickly snap out of your thoughts as you move aside, "Sure Twilight's upstairs."
Rarity and Sweetie walk past you as you call Twilight's name.
After a few moments Twilight appears at the top of the staircase, "Hi Rarity, hi Sweetie. What brings you by?"
Rarity holds her hoof up to her chest, "Well darling you know I would ra-.."
Sweetie cuts her sister off as she talks, "Twilight! On behalf of the cutie mark crusaders we would like you to know that if you ever need a foalsitter that we would loVE to get our cutie mark in it." She ends her sentence with a happy smile.
Twilight gives a friendly laugh as answers Sweetie, "Thank you Sweetie belle."
You on the other hand are shaking your head, no nope no, they would definitely go exploring in a forest for a cave and most likely end up fighting a hydra.
Sweetie points to you as she talks, "maybe you can get your cutie mark in foal-sitting to."
You hold your straight face as you think about that comment, I better not get a diaper on my ass for the rest of my life.
Twilight laughs at Sweeties comment.
Rarity now looks at Twilight as she clears her throat, "So is this weekend still ok for you to foalsit Sweetie?"
Your ears throbs at the thought as you wait for Twilight to answer.
She smiles as she answers, "of course it is."
Sweetie looks a little annoyed at the change in conversation, "Hey...if I need a foalsitter then how can I be a foalsitter?"
Rarity taps her hoof to her mouth, "um...hey Sweetie hows about we go home and I show you how to cook a...-"
Before she can finish Sweetie answers, "oK." Sweetie tugs on her sister’s hoof as she moves towards the door.
Rarity smiles as she is pulled towards the door, "Thank you Twilight."
As the door closes behind them you look to her.
Before you can even speak she answers, "Rarity is going out of town and I think it would be a good thing to look after Sweetie for a few days."
You nod your head, "Fine, but we are not going to the lake got it."
She giggles as she walks to list sitting on the table, "Good." You watch as she puts a check on the list.
Her smile fades a little as she moves the list up to its last box.
You get closer as you look over the list, "What's left?"
Twilight sighs as she looks at the last thing, "Something we put off for three weeks." She floats a quill and a piece of paper to the table, "Dear mom and dad...."
You give a long inhale as you awake from your dream. At the same time you give a quick laugh to yourself as you think, whoa I am finally boring, I had a dream about yesterday.
Your hoof is draped over Twilight's warm stomach as you lay in bed still a little tired from yesterday's list of unnecessary baby proofing. You give a little laugh at the thought of how Rainbow will react to the new locks on the windows.
You hold the smile as you turn your body around to face the window, the sun is just now starting to creep over Ponyville, you have never really seen the sun rise over the small town before... the thought of how boring your actions our right now starts to make you want to fall asleep again. With a yawn you start to invite that idea in.
But your invitation falls short as a loud thumping is heard from downstairs.
You bring you body up as you listen to the sound, great Rainbow found out about the windows and now she wants to knock loud.
Twilight gives an annoyed groan as she opens her eyes, "What pony would be up this early?"
You smile at the comment because not even a few months ago she would be up earlier than this.
She stretches as she talks through a yawn, "You get."
You blow into her ear as you talk, “Say it’s a colt.”
She gives an annoyed moan as she plays along, “mmmm, it’s a filly...”
The sound from downstairs echoes through the house again. You smile at her early morning grogginess and slowly flick at her nose with your hoof as another annoyed groan comes from her. You accept this as your win as you give a quick shift of your body you plate you hooves on the floor. Note to self, invent air condition so that the floor is not always cold.
As you poke your head out of the room you again hear the loud knock form downstairs. You bring your head to the bathroom but decided it's better to answer the door first.
You start to get annoyed at the increasing sound as you near the door, "Alright alright."
You open the door as you blindly talk, "You know Rainbow you ca...-" You stop your comment as you look at the two ponies at the door...oh shit, death came early this week.
Your eyes focus on the blue stallion opens the doorway, you slowly bring your eyes up to his dull orange eyes. Night lights angry stare pauses your voice as you stare at him.
Velvet stands behind her husband with a slightly softer expression but more of a look of concern.
Night light clears his throat as he talks, "Could you tell Twilight to come to the door?"
You stare at him blankly as you think over what Twilight might had said in her letter last night. You don't want to be the one to tell them if she didn't. With that thought in mind you decided to try your luck, "She's asleep."
Night light doesn't seem to like that answer as he talks again in a slightly more raises voice, "Get Twilight."
Before you can speak Velvet cuts in with a softer tone, "We would like to talk to Twilight outside ok?"
"Ok, I’ll go wake her up."
Velvet nods her head as she talks in a low tone, "We just want to see if she is alright."
You squint at her weird low tone as you motion to shut the door, "A-alright."
But before you shut the door it flew open with Night Lights hoof as he talks to Velvet in a raised voice, "No I’m not letting her stay in this house with this mare abuser for another minute!"
"What?!" is all you can say as he turns his father driven eyes to you.
"Don't you lie to me! I should have stopped you when I first meet you! I swear to Celestia if one hair on Twilight's mane is ruffled I will have you arrested and thrown in the Canterlot prison!"
You can't speak as your stuck completely dumbfounded as you think, what the fuck did Twilight's letter say?
Night light pushes past you into the room as he yells Twilight's name.
Velvet call from the door as she talks, "Night light calm down."
After only a second of no response he turns back to you with his horn glowing a bright blue, "Where is my daughter!"
Your thoughts drift as you look over his stance, your mind feels wallow in a rising anger as you talk, "Twilight is asleep! Did you not read the letter?"
You feel Night Light's magic start to run its way through your coat as your ability to move stops.
His eyes are focused on you as he asks again, "She said she need to see us and I know it's because of you, now where is my dau...-"
"Dad!"
Twilight stands at the top of staircase in all of her pregnant glory as she continues to talk, "What are you doing?! All I said was that we needed to talk." Her eyes are fixated on Night light and her voice carries almost as much weight as her hooves.
You feel the blue magic loosen its grip over your body as Night light stares at his daughter in silence.
Velvet is the first one to talk as she darts through the door and up the stairs, "MY baby! A-are you?" She stammers at the words as she looks her over.
Twilight still has her burst of energy from her yell as she takes a deep breath, "yes."
Velvet wraps her hooves around her daughter as she cries out, "How can my baby be having a baby?!"
Night light continues to look completely silent the scene at the top of the staircase.
Twilight rubs her mother’s back as she talks in her own cracking voice, "I-I wanted to tell you both but I would rather do it in person."
Velvet release her from her grasp a she look Twilight over, "How can you be...when you did..." She continues to ask questions before she can finish one and most are not audible as she tries to hold her emotion back, "...I saw you only a few months a-ago how are you s-so...
Twilight giggles a little, "Big?"
Velvet gives another loud sob as she wraps her hooves around Twilight, "Yes?!"
Twilight swallows hard as she think about her next words, "There is something you both need to know about...him." She points her hoof to you as she talks.
Night light turns back to you with a stone hard face, "...I thought he was a library assistant?"
You stand up straight as you look him over...I can take him. You hold the toughest face you can muster as you talk, "I'm a little bit more than an assistant." At the end of your statement you swallow hard...I need to use better words.
Velvet's face and Night light's face are both fixated on you as you all sit at the main library's small table. Twilight finally takes a moment to breath as she finishes basically your life story, "...And since we don't know for sure how long I have, we thought it would be better to tell you both now rather than wait any longer."
You nod your head in agreement to her as you wait for one of them to respond.
There are a few moments of silence as the long conversation starts to finally sink in.
Night Light continues to hold his new found death stare on you as he talks in a low but stern voice, "Twilight, you are coming with us back to Canterlot today."
Twilight gasp at his comment, "B-But why? I already told you...-"
Night light cuts her off as raises his voice, "No butts, you're far too young a mare to be pregnant and...-"
Twilight now cuts him off as her voice rises above his, "Where you not listening? I am already pregnant! What does it matter where I live?"
Night light looks to Velvet for help, her voice is still a little shaky from her crying thought out most of Twilight's story but she joins in on her husband's side, "Twilight, honey it's better if you come home."
Twilight still holds her tone as she talks, "I am not leaving."
Night light again chimes in, as he slams his hoof on the wood table, "Did you even tell Celestia?"
Twilight pauses at the question, "n-no."
Night light softens his hoof's movement as he tries to draw an imaginary plan on the table, "You are going to come to Canterlot with us to tell Celestia.”When she sees how mature you are and your mistake she won't release you as her pupil."
Twilight scoffs at him, "I am an element of harmony. The Princess would not stop being my teacher."
Night light stare her down as he talks, "Twilight we are not going to talk about this here, you are coming with us back to Canterlot."
Twilight shakes her head at his comment, "If I go back to Canterlot I am going to come back here."
Night light again bangs his hoof on the table as he talks, "Twilight you are not coming back here!"
Twilight shouts back to him in protest, "Why not?!"
He points his hoof to you as he stands from the table, "I am not letting you throw your life away with this...this thing!"
You talk now trying to not show your building resentment for him, "You can't do that I am the fa...-"
He cuts you off before you can finish, "My daughter was put in the hospital a few weeks ago and I am just finding out about it. My daughter is pregnant! And I am just finding out about it! And on top of all that she can't even do what she needs to do without running the risk of hurting the foal. So don't you dare say what you are about to say!"
You hold your breath at the comment before you talk, "Twilight will not get hurt because I won't allow it."
Night light laughs as he looks at you, “II don't have to explain myself to you, and all you have done is cause problems for her."
You bite your lip to stop yourself from letting go to an anger building inside you. It pains you to not defend yourself but you have to try to get them to understand..."...I love her I would never let anything happen to her."
Velvet's low voice cuts you querying mouth off as her gaze shifts between you and Twilight, "Night Light...-"
Night light walks from the table towards the door in a angry tort as he talks back, "Velvet, you know why we came here." He shoots you a look as he opens the door, "If you love my daughter you would have kept your dangerous self away from her."
Velvet reluctantly nods her head as she stands up, "Twilight, I just want you to know we only want what's best for you ok?"
Twilight looks to her mom with pleading eyes, "Then you know I need to stay here."
You hold your emotions back as you think over what she is saying before you talk..."Twilight is not going to Canterlot."
Velvet shifts her eyes back and forth between you both as she talks, "...We already decided what we were going to do before we found out you were pregnant."
Twilight and you both share a confused look as you both try to make sense at the comment, "What do you mean?”
Velvet has a frown as she stands from the table, "You're getting married Twilight."
Twilight's eyes widen as she talks in a defeated voice..."w-what?"
Velvet shakes her head as she talks, "We already picked who you will be marrying..."
You feel like your world has just crashed down around you as her words hit you.
Twilight stares at her mother, "What do you mean you already picked somepony!"
Velvet holds her head down as she talks, "When we saw the way he acted when we first meet, me and your father started planning an arranged marriage." She holds her hoof to you as she talks, "...and when we got that letter from you yesterday we quickly told your suitor to meet us in Ponyville."
You can't think as you listen to the conversation.
Twilight stand from the table as she talks, "I am not going to marry somepony I don't know!"
Velvet tries to calm her as she talks, "We are only thinking about what is best for you, we want somepony who can protect you an...-"
You cut in as you stand, "Where is Night light going?"
Velvet looks at you in a paused moment before she talks, "H-he is going to the Three leaf clover to get Prince Blueblood."
Twilight's eyes widen as she almost screams at her mother, "Prince Blueblood?! I said I needed to talk to you, how could you go and try and marry me off?!"
You start to the door as you hold a thought in your head, I have lost my life to many times to not fight for this one...
Your breathing since you left the library has been pained and your thoughts have been eating away each step you take that brings you closer to your destination. Twilight tries to keep up beside you as she has her own worried look to her. Even Velvet is starting to warm up to you...at least you think.
The three of you pause for moment as the restaurant comes into view.
Twilight now stand a little ahead of you as she looks at you, "I'm not leaving Ponyville."
You nod to her as you both walk up to the building. As you near the outside area you both stare at the table where Night light sits. To his right is who you would guess is Prince Blueblood. You look over the large white unicorn stallion, he has blonde mane and seems to have a red bow tie on with some kind of tuxedo top.
You grind your teeth at his sight, he looks like a typical snob by the way he sits. You give him one last look over as you both near the table to where Night light and Blue blood look up...ya I can take him.
Night light stares at you with a rock solid face as you both stop in front of the table. Velvet takes her seat beside him.
Blue blood is the first to talk, "Ah yes waiter I would like the soft bread sandwich, ok?" His voice is a snobby almost whines like you thought it would be.
Night light's face changes a little as he introduces you both, "Um, This is my daughter Twilight Sparkle...and her friend who will be leaving soon."
You smile to Night light as you take your seat next to Twilight.
Blue blood seems too dumb to pick up on the mistake he makes and he acts like he has done nothing wrong, "Oh, hello Twilight." He licks at his hoof and then brushes back his mane as he smiles to Twilight. Twilight shifts her gaze around the table as she talks, "Hello, Blue blood. I came here today to tell you that I will not be marrying you."
Blue blood's smile fades a little as he looks to Night light.
Night light gives a shifty laugh as he looks to him, "Oh she is just being funny. She was all excited about it a few minutes ago."
You and Twilight both stare at Night Light as Twilight continues, "As you can see I am pregnant and as a result I refuse to marry you." She holds her head up high in a shaky feel of pride. You hold her hoof under the table as you wait for Night light's responses.
To your surprise Blue blood is the one to talk...well laugh.
Everypony stares at Blue blood until he stops, "Oh Twilight's, I don't care if you're a filthy herd pony." He takes a sip of his drink as he finishes his comment. "With an element of harmony as my bride we will be the most regal family in all of Canterlot." He changes his face to what he must feel is a softer face as he looks at Night light, "It will be a great thing to know your daughter is so safe." He smiles to you as he speaks his last words, “Unicorns won’t run from a fight.”
Your mouth hangs open as his comment hits your ear, you stand from your seat as you talk, "What did you just say?"
Night light even looks to him in a bit of shock.
Blue blood sets the cup down a he brings his hoof up to his mouth, "Oh my...you're the father?"
"Yes." You stare at him just hoping he will say something stupid as you already feel an uncontrollable anger feel swirling just beneath your coat.
Blue blood gives another laugh, "Well now, can't have an earth pony running around a castle can we?" He rubs his mane back again but before he could say another word you snap.
You throw the table across the restaurant in a burst of rage filled magic, as the green sparkles from the magic start to settle you almost are yelling at him, "That not magic enough for ya!?"
Everypony that sits around the restaurant stares at your magic show with their jaw in complete awe.
But whatever doubts Night light had in Blue blood is throw out of his mind just like the broken table that sits across the restaurant floor. Night Light points a hoof to you as he talks to Twilight, "You see why we want you away from this freak!"
You shake your head at his comment, "I would never hurt Twilight."
Night light takes up a stance as he talks, "Leave now or I will make you leave."
Twilight stands in front of you as she talks, "No."
Night light stares at her not knowing what to do.
Blue blood stares at you with his mouth quivering, "W-what are you?"
Your mind races with anger as you look over his dumbfounded expression. Your body still tingles from your outburst of magic, and as a result you can't really speak as your words are a little mumbled.
At first you think it’s just some kind of side effect of the sudden burst of magic that you just used but it feels more like you're being drained or something...your balance starts to shift a little as you try to shake off whatever is affecting you.
Night Lights mood changes a little as he notices your change in position, "What's wrong with him?"
Twilight puts her hoof on you as you continue to sway, "Wha..-"
She quickly takes her hoof from you as she talks, "Your coat is hot, what’s wrong?"
You stammer at your words as you talk, "I-I d-don’t know."
You start to feel your own body's warmth as the tingling sensation comes back, you grind your teeth a little at the feel. You back away as you start to give a pained groan.
In your mind you hear a laughing...the kind of sinister laugh you haven't heard in the last few months. You close your eyes as you try to fight the thought of the laugh, after a few more moments of your body’s intense heat you feel a cool sensation run over you as you feel yourself lying on the ground. You have not fainted but you don't feel like opening your eyes...all around you hear ponies start to scream, but you continue to hold your eyes until you hear Twilight's voice call out his name in a frightened and confused voice..."Discord"
Your eyes shoot open at the looming laugh that now lingers over you.
You push yourself off the ground as you look to the demented god of chaos...your mind and body is still fried but your fear sensory is off the charts as you look to him...he was sent to earth? How...how can...
Discord floats in the air as small green particles of magic slowly fall to the ground, he stretches and groans as he blinks his yellow eyes into focus, "uh, really do you know how hard it is to teleport between worlds!"
Blue blood shouts as he points his hoof up, "DDD-Diis-Dis..."
Discord smiles with a nodding head as he motions with his claws to the stuttering prince, "Come on...come on."
Twilight lowers her head as she speaks up in a shaky voice, "Discord..."
He turns to her with the sound of a party cannon behind him, "And the prize goes to!..." He stops as he laughs and holds his sides, "My gosh! You have gotten fat haven't you!" He snaps his fingers as a megaphone drops into his clawed hand. He sucks in for a moment before turning to Twilight's parents and giving a loud shout that blows there mane back, "She must be pregnant!!!"
You continue to try and push yourself from the ground as you keep your eyes focused on the crazy mis-matched creature still hovering in the air.
Velvet is struck with fear as she holds her mouth a gasp. Night light stands with a shiver as he looks to the still laughing being.
Twilight plants her hooves firmly on the ground as she shouts to Discord in a shaky but stern voice, "How did you get back! I sent you to..."
Discords happy yellow eyes turn a solid black as he snaps his head to her, "To a plant of overly charged beings of pure anger and confusion!" He smiles as Twilight is struck silent at his menacing face. "...Really Twilight, Celestia did not plan at all when she tasked you to do that."
Your stance is shifty but you place yourself in front of her as Discord starts to laugh.
"Oh I see the human puppet is still around." his eyes turn back to their yellow color as he talks, "I have to th...-"
Blue blood finally snaps as he tries to run past Discord, "Discord is back everypony ru...-"
Discord snaps his fingers and Blue bloods escape is halted as his bright white coat is turned a stone grey.
Discord laughs are covered by every ponies screams as stone holds clamp around there hooves. You look down in shock as the cold stone shapes itself around you. Discord's eyes turn back to a dark black as he look back to you, "Really human you did such a good job at holding your anger back...I thought I would never get a beacon to teleport to." He smiles at you as you hold an emotionless face. But in your mind your fear raises almost paralyzing you as you see your reflection in his eyes.
His smile fades as a purple aura clouds around you.
You snap out of your daze as you look to Twilight, her eyes are closed and her horn glows a bright purple.
Discord waves goodbye as he talks, "I will give you ponies a ten minute head start." As his smile runs across his face his eyes shade goes a normal yellowy-orange.
The quick rush of wind and purple swirls are quick to end as the library's bright wood and colorful book take shape around you. Every other time you have been teleported you have closed your eyes as the sensation of magic carries you away, but not this time you ken fear of her use of magic has keep your eyes and body focus on her position. As the purple swirls finally settle and your breath is brought back into your body you talk, "Twilight!"
You put your hoof on her side as she holds her eyes tight with a bit of a shake to them.
Night light and Velvet who have also been teleported show their concern as they both talk in an almost inaudible unite sound.
Twilight opens her eyes quick as she pushes away from you, "Spike! Spike!"
You continue to talk as she call her assistant's name, "Twilight are you alright? Twilight?"
She quickly runs to the bottom of the staircase ignoring you and her parents as she calls up the stairs, "Spike! Wake up."
The purple dragon finally appears on the top of the staircase with almost tear filled eye, "Twilight are we going back to Canterlot?"
Twilight pauses but is quick to talk, "Spike, get the elements of harmony."
Spike looks confused as he looks around the room at everyponies’s faces, "W-why?" His voice is still a little shaky from his lack of awareness of the situation outside.
Twilight's eyes are focused and determined as she answers him, "Discord is back...now get the elements of harmony."
Spike freezes for a moment but then backs away from the top of the stairs with a dash towards Twilight's room.
You and her parent’s calls to her have not stopped at her ignoring, and she finally turns to face you as she talks, "I'm fine."
You stare at her but before you can talk Night light cuts in, "You see why you need to come home with us!" He points his hoof to you as he talks, "He brought Discord here!"
Twilight turns her head to her father as she starts her lecture, "Well dad the only reason Discord is here is because he used the human magic brought on by feelings of hate and discrimination unlike pony magic of love and tolerance...which you show none of!"
Night light is struck silent as he looks to the ground.
Twilight paints a little from her outburst as a flicker of green magic flares from her horn.
You don't notice the flicker but you put your hoof to her to try and calm her. She takes deep breaths as she calms down.
But the calm moment doesn't last long as the door to the library flies open with a bust of a cyan streak.
Rainbow slams into the floor and quickly closes the door as she runs up screaming in her high pitched cracky tomboyish voice, "Twilight, Discord is back and the sky is turning all cloudy and Ican'tdoathingaboutit!" Her voice trembles as she tries to speak through her out of breath body and fear driven ramble.
Twilight nods as she talks in a leadership calm voice, "Rainbow I need you to go and get Fluttershy and Applejack."
Rainbow pauses for a moment as she looks over her friend, "Twilight...you can't be serious?"
Twilight nods her head with a determined, "I am."
Again the door flings back open, everypony looks to the door in a little bit of hesitation but the fear is quickly subsided as a ball of pink fluff slams the wood door behind itself.
Pinkie scream as she rubs her hooves over her cotton candy like mane, "TheskyisgettingalldarkponiesarescreamingIcan'tgettheoventowork!AndIheardponiesscreamingThatDiscordisB..-"
Pinkie is silenced as Rainbow shoves her hoof into her mouth, "Pinkie we know, can you get Rarity?"
Pinkie mumbles something thgourth Rainbow's hoof, "Iskdfndsfjbcejksb." She spits her hoof out as she talks in high pitched squeal, "Rarity is across town, she was probably eaten by the lake monster!" She lets out a tear filled cry but unlike a normal cry her eyes almost look like she was a water faucet turn on high.
Rainbow shakes Pinkie as she talks, "This is no time to mess around Pinkie."
Twilight rubs her head as the conversations around the room get louder and more fear driven.
You have a pounding head and you're still weak from earlier as you try to make sense of the noise that is quickly filling the room.
Spike finally emerges from downstairs with a large box that he struggles to hold up. "H-here you go Twilight." He almost slams the box down to the ground.
Twilight raises her voice to stop the madness as she talks, "Enough!." She opens the box to reveal five gold necklaces looking things with what almost looks like a princess crown in the middle of the box. You blink at the contents of the box as you think, this is the most power thing in all of Equestria! A fucking fashion statement!?
You watch with a lost hope as two of the items are floated out of the box and brought to Pinkie's and Rainbow's hooves. In the middle of the gold necklace is an emblem of their cutie marks which again only fuels your concern for them not doing shit.
Velvet talks now with her hooves up to her mouth, "Twilight...you’re...you’re not going to fight that monster are you?"
Night light stares at his daughter as he shakes his head, "No, no we have to wait for Cleastia or-or Luna." Rainbow and Pinkie look to them as the talk.
Twilight doesn't take her mind of her eyes off of the elements as she talks, "We don't know how long they would take to get here, and if Discord is as strong as I think he is there won't be enough time."
You stare at her as you shake your head, "No, no you're not doing this."
Her face is completely emotionless as she looks to Rainbow, "Rainbow go and get Aj and Fluttershy."
Rainbow gives a nod as she opens the door and darts out towards the now cloud looking sky.
Twilight hovers the tiara out of the box with what you would guess is Rarity's element toward her. You quickly stop the movement with your own purple grasp as you talk, "Twilight you are not doing this."
She smiles as her magical pull over powers your, "I have to there is no time."
You grab Rarity's element as you talk, "No, no magic it-it..." you stammer on the words as your fear starts to unscramble in your mind, not just for her but for what she is carrying, "This strong of magic would hurt you and the foal."
She places the tiara on her head as she talks, "There is no magic in the elements of harmony, and it’s just a power."
You shake your head at the lie, "Twilight doesn’t lie, and I will not let you do anything like this."
She stares at you as she holds out her hoof, "Give me the element." Her soft eyes have darkened to the color of determination...but you can see in her big purple eyes that she is just as scared as you are.
Everypony watches silently at your back and forth conversation.
You shake your head as you voice starts to get raised, "No, h-how would you get this element to Rarity anyways? Hu? Discord is not going to let you walk past him."
She starts to shake up a little as she talks, "I would teleport to her shop."
Your mouth quivers as you ask her the same question as before, "Do the elements of harmony use magic?"
She reluctantly nods her head yes.
You back away from her still holding on to the element, "Then I won't let you do this."
She tries to hold back her cry as she talks, "You have to trust me, the elements don't need that much magic...it does it on its own."
You again shake your head to her.
Her voice is shaky as she stops her hoof, "We don't have time for this, the fate of Equestria rest on in our hooves in trying to stop Discord."
You give a shaky laugh as you talk, "I don't care about Equestria." You look over her softening purple eyes as she again tries to lie to you. "You just have to trust me...the elements won't be too much for me."
You stare at her as you wait for her lie to crack...but she doesn't falter. You look down to the element you hold as you talk, "You promise Twilight?"
She nods her head.
You feel your magic tangle around your body as you picture in your mind where you want to go. You bring your head up to her as you feel your teleportation spell starting to take effect, "You promised."
As the sound of your teleport starts to fade around you open your eyes to the clothes and fabric covers boutique.
"Oh, perfect darling I needed a stallion." You feel Rarity's hoof press against your side as she try to move you to the modeling step up in the center of the room.
You break free from her push as you hold the necklace up to her.
She stares at it for a moment, "...Why do you have this?"
It's at this moment you realize all the windows in the building have been closed and there is no way to see outside.
You start to speak as you rush through your words, "Discord is back!"
Her pupils shrink back as she backs away from you, "W-what! H-how? Oh this is dreadful!" She holds her hoof up to her mouth as she talks, "How long do we have until he is in Ponyville?!"
You’re quick to answer her, "He is already in Ponyville..." You look to the nearest window as you focus a purple glow surrounds it and it lifts up revealing the outside world. The sky is dark from what looks like heavy storm clouds but there is now wind and no sound of thunder, the colorful green trees now look more like a dead brown and black.
Rarity looks out the window as she talks in a low voice unlike her more regale sound one, "...this..This is awful..."
You take a deep breath as you wrap the both of you in a purple veil of magic, she doesn't seem to notice as she continues to look on the dreary scene outside. You hold your mind on the library as you try to keep the fact fueled thought that you have only teleported you and another pony only a few times before...you grind your teeth as you try to not burst into flames and just focus on the simple teleportation spell.
Your eyes are closed as you feel the tingling sensation run across your body, the rush of air and sounds is quickly over as you open your eyes to the library. Your small sense of accomplishment is pushed aside as the thoughts of what is bound to come his you.
Rarity put the gold charm around her neck as she talks in the most demanding voice you have ever heard this lady like pony ever talk in, "Ok Twilight what are we going to do."
Twilight holds her head to the front door as she shifts a little uneasy, "When Rainbow gets back with everypony else we will..."
Her words are cut off by the door flying open, Rainbow hurries a shaking Fluttershy into the room and Applejack comes in behind them as she closes the door.
The chatter in the room starts to rise as everypony realizes what they are about to do. You stare at Twilight still believing she knows what she’s doing, but holding this thought and your tongue is hard as your eyes drift to her hanging stomach.
Twilight quickly floats the last two charms to Applejack and Fluttershy as she talks in a low voice, "Girls, Discord is back...and until Celestia gets here we have to try anything to stop him." She pauses as everypony nods their heads.
Night light and Velvet sit at the small table in the main library as there wide eyed stare at their daughter speechlessly.
Twilight takes a deep breath as she says her last few words, "...I don't know how long Discord will give us...so we can't waste time." She turns her head back to you as her horn begins to glow a low purple, "I will be fine."
She smiles as the purple magic poofs them away. You stare at the scene you just watched, your mind races as you think... "Spike why would she do that!" Your heart pounds as you talk.
Spike talks in a low voice as he holds his claws together in fright, "If Discord wins h-he would turn everypony to stone!"
Night light holds his head to you, you can see the fear on his face but he still defends her action, "That's what the elements of harmony have to do..."
You shake your and then dart out of the door racing to where she teleported.
As your hooves hit the hardaning dirt road your mind starts to race, Twilight you are not doing anything stupid for me or Equestria.
The sky outside has darkened to a cloudy layer just above the town, the dirt roads have started to turn a cold almost stone feel but the trees have taken on a bright cotton candy look to them. Ponies are still running from the town as your pace to the center of town starts to quicken, in your mind you can't believe that you're running into danger...but something keeps telling you that you should get use to this.
As your heartbeat and your breath overtake the noise around you, your eyes are brought to the hay covered buildings that are just before the restaurant...the hay has turned to what looks like chocolate fudge that now drips onto the path. Your mind quickly falls for this as you stop in your tracks at the voices just up the road a few feet.
"....This-this is fun! I just absolutely love the snack attack you tried." Discord smiles to the six ponies that stand around him.
Twilight is in front of you but her back is to you, no pony seems to have noticed you as everyponie's eyes are fixed up to the floating laughing stack as Twilight talks.
"Discord you know you can't harm us while we wear the elements of harmony." You watch Twilight as she holds her head up high to the mis-matched creature.
Discord snaps his claw and begins to sip on a drink that falls into his lion like paw as Twilight's voice picks up.
"This is not like Canterlot! You won't get away with anything...so give up now." The purple star that sits atop her tiara begins to glow a low purple. You shift a little not knowing if you should run and stop her.
Rainbow flaps her wings as she takes up off the ground, "YA, you're not turning anypony into stone today, hear us body?" Her proud tomboyish voice brings a sense of confidence to everypony as they all start some kind of comment.
But your gaze has not changed from Discord...you know something doesn't feel right, how can he be so calm?
"Well that was good tea." His yellow eyes shift as he talks, "Does anypony want some?" The silence eats away at him as he continues to look at each pony, "No....Good." His eyes turn a darkening yellow as the orange of his pupil start to take over at the end of his sentence.
Twilight hold her head up and takes a stance as she talks, "Discord."
He ignores her as he crosses his arms behind his head and lifts his legs up into the air, "No-no, you can have the first go."
Twilight and her friends close their eyes as you watch. You stare at this for a moment, why are they just standing there!
But just before you call out you feel a certain calm feeling run through past you...almost like a cool breeze. You watch with your hooves digging into the dirt a little as the low glowing purple start on Twilight's element starts to get a brighter shine. The light chime that you have heard from magic before is nothing compared to the sound that seems to be radiating from it...your breathing becomes slow as you watch everypony else elements start to glow, but unlike Twilight's they begin to form a rainbow like ring around Discord.
The ring bounces off of each cutie mark shaped necklaces as it starts to grow towards where Twilight stands.
Discord's smug face begins to waver a little as the rainbow like circle hits Twilight's start and begins to glow a bright whitish-rainbow color. The loud chime is almost deafening and you feel like time has somehow slowed around you. A smile creeps across your face as you watch in pure amazement at the scene in front of you...You swallow hard almost unable to believe the sight as the rainbow circle seems to stem from nowhere.
But your new found happy feeling is quickly brought to an end as your face is brought back to Discords...his eyes have darkened to a coal black and a smile has crossed his face leaving his teeth resting on his lip.
The cold stare shacks you as snap out of your amusement with a single shaking thought..."Twilight!"
At the sound of her name her ear flicks and she turns a little to you.
The sound from the elements are now almost screaming, everypony has shot their eyes open as the rainbow light that in case Discord has turned a dark green...the light slowly creep toward Twilight's star.
With a loud thunder like cracking sound you watch in horror as everypony is pushed back from their positions in a blast of greening light. You turn away from the intense brightness as the thundering sound starts to calm. You hold your eyes shut for a moment until you hear the cackling laugh from Discord.
"OH no, I think that somponies have not been true to their elements."
Your head is quickly brought back in front of you, "Twilight!?" The circle that was once formed by a colorful array of light is now littered with Twilight and her friends as they rub their eyes from the light.
But your eyes rest on Twilight, element has fallen from her head and she kneels on her front hooves in a hunched over panting heap, her stomach lightly rest on the cold ground every time she breaths in.
You burst into a run when she doesn't answer you.
But your heroic like run is brought to an end as you feel your body turned upside down...you have just been teleported and are now floating upside down next to Discord.
He places his bird like claw around your face as his beings to mess with your cheek, "Oh look yo-.."
You bite at his fingers as you yell, " I swear if...-"
Your voice is cut off as his hard claw slaps across your face.
He now tightened his grip around your head as he scream at you, "Or you will what? WHAT is a human pony freak like you going t-.."
A blast of purple magic streaks his thin body and his grip on you is lost as you plummet back to the ground with a thud. The wind has been knocked out of you and you lie on your back for a moment unable to move, your head has turned to your left, toward Twilight. She stands on all four legs, her head tilted down with a little paint.
The pain in your back makes it a little hard to roll over but you eventually make it to your hooves as you turn back to Discord.
He laughs as he pokes at his almost burn fur, "Oh, that-that is good..Ha ha ! That is good." He turns to you as he talks, "My turn."
He snaps his claw and Twilight's horn becomes encased in a stone block. She gives a pained yelp as she sits back on the ground frantically rubbing at the stone.
Twilight's friends all yell in unison as they gallop over to her.
You stare at Twilight as Discords voice resonates behind you.
"Tell me human, what's it like knowing that you help corrupt the elements of harmony?"
Rainbow yells from Twilight's side back to his comment, "Hey I-..."
Her tomboyish voice is silenced by Discord's loud booming, "Hush Rainbow, some loyal element you turned out to be, can't keep your hooves off somepony hu?"
Applejack now shouts out, her normal blond mane looks a tattered mess as her words rock her head, "Y'all just wait till the Princess get here!"
You again hear Discord's laughter behind you as he talks, "The Princess? You mean the pony that wanted me to go to a world where chaos is free to run rampant? Yes, let’s wait for the Princess, she might throw me a party...."
You ignore his words as you stare at Twilight, you both hold a stare as the conversion rages around you...her determined eyes that she once had are now a soft and worried stare. Your eyes drift down a little as you stare at her hooves cradling her bulged stomach off the ground. You feel a tingling sensation coming through your body as the sounds around completely blank...you hold your gaze as you remind yourself of something...nothing bad will ever happen to you...you feel a tear forming in your eye as bring them back to Twilight's.
You turn back to Discord, your mind completely focused on what you want to do. The sensation throughout your body is not rage it's not pain it's not lost...you hold this thought in your head as you let it consume you...
"I am not losing anything else..."
Discord stops his rant as he laughs and points, "OH yes very well." He cups his head in his claw and paw as he talks in mocking voice, "One shot then it's my turn."
You close your eyes as you hold your thoughts, the tingling sensation that has been building in your fur you feel staring to leave you. Discord laughs and hold his sides, "AH ha ah stop, stop, it tickles!"
You shoot your eyes open as you watch a steady field of green magic building up around him. You shake a little trying to hold back your fear and doubts.
Discord continues to wallow in his laughter as he tries to talk, "ha ha-yes-yes, go on then give me a magical bust!"
Rainbow calls out from behind you, "What are you doing? Don't help him!"
The voices behind you start to grow as the field around Discord grows a brighter green. You grind your teeth as you push their voices from your mind.
Discord's laughter starts to fade a little as the field continues to get darker, "Wha-what are you doing?"
Your breathing starts to become heavy as you hold the feelings of your hoof draping over Twilight's stomach, the feeling of her warm fur in the slow morning, her pressed up against you while she is in a deep sleep ...the sounds of her laughter, her bright smile from a stupid comment of yours. You feel a smile across your face as these feelings begin to run your mind.
The green field around Discord has gone a light purple that continues to keep growing darker and darker the shade. His joy filled laughter begins to change into a pained scream as you watch his fur begin to blacking, "Wh-WhaT!"
The sensation has started to make you weak and you feel your front leg give in, but you focus stays on Discord and the spell. His yells are now getting mixed with your fading hearing, your last sight is his figure complete clouded by the glow of purple magic that stems from your own body.
You look around for a moment but can't see anything, oh crap...I’m dead again. You slowly regain the control of your body as you start to shift the haze of your eyes open, the flickers of light are fast and blurred. Each flicker gets longer and wider as you continue to try and open your tired eyes.
After a few attempts you eyes fully open and the blur fades with each blink, your mouth is open and you feel the warmth of covers over your body. Twilight sits in front of the bed in a chair.
She smiles as she talks, "How are you feeling."
You smack your lips together slowly, the bitter taste of magic still lingers in your mouth as you nod.
She gives a sigh as she continues to look you over.
It's fun because as she does this your eyes scan her to see if she is alright, you stop at her horn, a few speaks of the stone can still be seen on her horn. Like a tide wave the reason why you faint slams down on your mind as you quickly jerk up, "What happ...-" You hold your sides in pain from your quick motion and you feel a little light headed.
Twilight puts her hoof on you as she sets you back, "You need to rest, and I don't know what kind of spell you did...but whatever you did stopped Discord."
You lay back down on the pillow as you look to the ponies behind her, everypony from her parents to Applejack are standing behind her in the doorway. But you focus more on the fact you finally did something as you talk, "I did a transfer spell."
Twilight blinks at you answer, "How did you learn that?"
You lick your lips to enhance your low voice as you talk, "Celestia showed me in Canterlot when you were..." Your voice raises as you again try to jerk yourself up, "How's the baby?!"
Twilight again puts you back down as she talks, "I'm fine." She places a hoof on her stomach as she talks, "We're fine."
You relax on the pillow as you stare at her, the feeling of accomplishment and comply drained is strangely a good combo.
Twilight brings her hoof up to her face as she talks, "I wish I knew that it was a transfer spell, you should have gone to the hospital."
You shake your head, "Naw- suprepony don't need hospital."
She gives a light giggle to the comment.
Applejack now comes a little closer as she talks, "Thanks for saving our hides."
You smile as everypony else comes closer.
Rarity fluffs her hair as she talks, "Really do have to thank you." She gives you a starry eyed smile as she finishes. Pinkie runs to the bed and wrap her hooves around you, "Thankyouthankyouthankyou,IsodidnotwanttobeastonyagianandWhentheelementsofharomnoydidthatwackychangethingyIwassoscaryedbutnowitsallbetteranddoyouwantacupcake-"
You give a pained squeal as you wait for her to release you.
Fluttershy and Dash now get to the edge of the bed as they talk, "Thank you." Fluttershy gives you a soft hug as she burst her head against yours. Unlike Pinkie this one you don't want to end.
You give a smile to the cyan Pegasus as she rolls her eyes and point her hoof to you, "YA, I knew you would be fine the whole time."
Pinkie points her hoof to her, "Oh Dashy, you were just as nervous."
Rainbow smiles a little as she lowers her voice, "Glad to see I didn't have to save you this time."
Really? I save her life and that’s what I get? You smirk at her, "So what n-.."
Your voice is cut off as her hooves wrap around your upper body, "Don't scare Twilight like that again." She pounds against your back as she lets go of you.
You give Twilight a pain tired smile as you look at everypony. She stands from the chair as she talk thought a sniffle, "Ok everypony, I think we should give him some space."
Night light now moves into the room as he talks, his voice stops everypony movement as he takes the center of the room, his stone hard face doesn't looked softened as he stares at you, "You sir are a dangerous, reckless, brainless freak..." Everypony pauses with a gasp as he stops.
You stare at him speechless at his words, h-how can h..-
"...But I am forever in your debt for saving my little Twi." He wraps his hoof around Twilight as he kisses her forehead.
You breathe a sigh of relief as your head settles into the pillow.
You watch as Twilight's friends leave the room again saying goodbye. You're tired but you hold yourself awake to say goodbye.
The last three ponies in the room are Velvet, Night light and Twilight.
Velvet wipes a tear from her eye as she talks, "Thank you."
You nod your head to her.
Velvet then looks to Twilight as she embraces her in a hug, "Now no more surprise. You got that?!" They share a soft laugh as the break the hug. Velvet gives you nod as she turns, "Come on Night light, this stallion needs his rest." You watch as they both leave with Twilight.
But before Twilight leaves she turns around and walks back to your bedside, her eyes are a little shaky as she talks, "How could you do a spell that big?"
You stare at her soft eyes as you talk, "I thought of you." Her face falters as she hugs onto you, "I love you."
You nuzzle the side of her head as you repeat her. She lets go of you as she gives a sniffle, "Now get some rest, magic like that should make you very weak."
You close your eyes as she turns from your bed to the door as you feel your needed sleep creep into your eyes and mind.
You don't know how long you have been out but you open your eyes to the bed shifting beside you, the half moon light shining into the room shows you her lavender coat as she lies down. You wait for her to stop moving before you move yourself closer to her and being to wrap your hooves around her.
But you're meet with an unexpected reply as you do this, "...don't."
You shake the comment off as you continue to move your hoof over her fur coated side as you reach around to her stomach...but as you place your hoof on her, you don't feel the normal warmth you were expecting.
She shifts away from you and you hoof drops to the bed, your voice is still weak but you talk through it, "Twilight...what's wrong?"
The lavender blob in front of you turns to you, her eyes are facing away from yours as she talks, "I...I used human magic..."
You stare at her just listening to the sound of your breaths.
She swallows as she chokes up, "I...I think I hurt the foal."
A cold shiver crawls up your body as you place your hoof to her again...your eyes hold to her still protruding stomach, as she continues.
"That’s why the elements didn't work..."
You watch a shiny stream poor from her eye as she talks, "...I did it because I got scared...I got scared when I heard your voice...." She brings her eyes up to you as she talks, "...I didn't want a foal to live in a world ruled by Discord...."
You hold your hoof on her stomach hoping to feel the same warmth you felt before. You feel a tingling sensation come over your weak body as you focus on the one place you can think to go.
Twilight brings her head down as she closes her eyes, "...Is it bad that I don't want to know..."
