"The world is changing with the glaces cast between the eyes of many. I've only known this much through the stories from my friends... my friends who helped..." This is the story of Motion Reflux, a special pegasus with a unique sensitivity to the ripples of motion against the ground, as he travels from Equestria to the outskirts and comes across the city of Skyfell. Skyfell, a city of technology that has disbanded and disconnected from the reaches of Equestria, ruled by a pegasus princess named Snowfall which technology grants her the powers of a unicorn combined with her natural pegasus abilities. Our protagonist gains new relationships, meets unique ponies and helps himself in the process. Many glace at him, most spit at him, others wave and little say a word; this town is plagued with distrust and illusions caused by unfruitful emotions. The Elements of Order... they call it, will save them... but 'who' and 'what' are these Elements?... one proclaims it keeps The Elements of Harmony in balance, another says that the elements control aspects of ponykind... but who knows..?

"A Friendship is like ones soul as it can never be taken or lost, but roams in search for longing."
"A lost memory isn't as a roaming idea, it follows but can never achieve but can always strive for greater glory."

Incision - Part 1

It was a bright summers day with Celestia's sun brimming high up in the sky and the clouds gently flowing across the boundaries of sight. Movement was abound in the city of Canterlot. Today was almost just like a regular day, but one figure within the castle will face a task beyond his recognition; he was different.

Difference in this stallion was unapparent or unseen by the naked eye, though his blue coat and special innate ability to sense motion. He always tried to hover because of his sensitivity to it; he's a gifted flyer that is skilled in flight stamina and speed.

"Hey, Motion!" pushed a purple unicorn, "You still need to be awake, you know". Motion Reflux streched out his legs and got up from the floor in Canterlot Castle that he managed to fall asleep on; he asked, "Why are we here again?". Twilight Sparkle dusted off his hair with her forehoof and said, "The Princess wants to talk to you, I'm just instructed to bring you to her as well as listen to the conversation".

Motion Reflux hovered slightly above the ground and sighed, nodding; Twilight Sparkle grabbed him in a field of magical energy and pulled him into the Throne Room, where Celestia sat upon a large throne infront of them. The guards stationed outside the doors closed the doors and then Twilight Sparkle set Motion Reflux on the ground; they both bowed to the princess and then Twilight Sparkle stepped back while he moved forward. Celestia locked her eyes in a tight grip towards his, "I have a task for you, Motion Reflux." she smiled as she spoke.

He slightly tilted his head and asked, "What task could a pegasus like I even be able to accomplish, Princess? I'm not judging your choice or anything but couldn't you have chosen somepony else?" but Celestia forwarded with her reply, "This task is going to help you, and Equestria; I want you to visit this land on the outskirts that has made itself independent from us and I want you to help them and make some friends." then she stood up and flew down to stand infront of him, "Think of this like a task of friendship, like one I've given Twilight Sparkle over there; but you don't need to send me letters detailing what you've learned, I know you're going to learn much there already." He raised an eyebrow, "You know?" with a moment of silence delaying her response, Celestia answered with a smirk, "I know". She hovered back up to her throne and sat back down, "You may leave now, both of you, I hope you do well on your task Motion". Motion Reflux and Twilight Sparkle bowed towards the princess and Celestia returned the gesture by smiling and bowing her head towards them; the two opened the door and exited, Twilight Sparkle giving one more happy wave goodbye towards her mentor.

"So, now you've got a task about Friendship like me?" giggled Twilight Sparkle as they walked, he rolled his eyes and answered grudgingly, "Yeah, but I'll have to be away from my home for awhile" he stopped and looked down, continuing "I guess I should be counted as lucky, if the princess were to take eye on me for this task". Twilight Sparkle stopped and turned, reaching a hoof to rest against his cheek and smiling "Don't worry, I have full faith that you can complete your task and maybe even bring this independent land back to Equestria." He looked up and gave a soft spoken smile towards his friend; they began their walk to the train station to head towards Ponyville and ready for his departure to the outskirts of Equestria.

They waited at the station for a couple of minutes until the train arrived and then made their way inside, sat down in their respectable seats and the train departed. "Woah..." cringed Motion Reflux, "I'll never get used to trains." he finished as he was experiencing a small sense of motion sickness. Twilight Sparkle covered her mouth slightly as she giggled softly at the her friends uncomfortableness within the moving vehicle.

Two hours passed before they made it back to Ponyville, exited the station, got stopped by a salespony for a moment and then finally arrived at Twilight Sparkles library home. "It's been awhile since I've set hoof in here, Twilight" he spoke as he stepped into the centre of the room, she followed in afterwards and closed the door with her magic, "I know it's been awhile, You're welcome to sleep the night here and depart tomorrow" she yawned and began to walk to her bed, "I've already set up an extra bed for you up here, so you don't have to awkwardly snuggle up close to me like a long time ago" she laughed gently and left his field of view.

It'll be awhile until I leave, I'm not sleepy so I guess I'll idle around Ponyville until I'm tired.. he thought to himself as he walked towards the door and exited the building. He hovered around the nightly streets of Ponyville, hardly anypony could be seen. Probably everyponys asleep by now... He thought to himself and began to turn to go back to Twilight's Library, but was as he hovered on his path there he was interrupted by a rainbow-maned cyan mare pegasus who collided face-first with the ground in front of him.

She got up, shook her head; her vision blurred as she looked towards the 'figures' infront of her, "W-Weaaoh... that must've been a hawd craush" stuttered the rainbow pony as she wobbled to regain her balance and sight. "R-Rainbow Dash?" he stepped back from the wobbly mare but was then caught in a large hug from her. "Figures you wouldn't forget about me, How're ya bud?" she happily laughed and then released him from her tight embrace. Motion Reflux stood back up and gave a soft smile, answering, "I'm doing fine, Dash" he brushed a hoof over her hair, she asked, "Anything cool happen in your adventures away from Ponyville, Flux?" then he waved his forehoof, "I was assigned a task by the princess.." he put his hoof down and continued, "...a task of friendship, something like Twi's".

He stood up and looked at Rainbow Dash, "I won't be in Equestria anymore, this task is taking me to another area outside of this land..." He turned and looked towards the night sky, "..you and Twi were my only real friends, but now I'm going to have to leave you both..", he looked down and closed his eyes, "I need to get some sleep, I have to leave to this land by tomorrow so I'll need to be wide awake for my departure". She stood there, her head slightly tilted with the expression of a confused mare, "So you're goin' off to some fancy new land?" she bumped his side with her forehoof and smiled, "I'm sure you'll do fine, Flux.". She hovered into the air and then did a loop, "You're a pretty capable stallion, No pony's gonna mess with ya". Her loop was perfect, no movement off course and moving in a perfect 360 degree flip like she had done it a million times already. Rainbow Dash landed and Motion Reflux rolled his eyes, returning his almost blank stare towards her, "You're like a sister to me, Dash, being the first pony I've ever become friends with and all." He gave her a hug and she awkwardly returned the hug, patting his back and trying to crack a joke, "Hey, maybe you'll find your true element when you meet some new friends!" but he returned the joke by laughing, "Ha! You know there's only the Elements of Harmony, Dash. I don't think there is any other elements in the universe!"

They let go of each others small embrace, he waved goodbye to her and she said, "See ya later, Flux". Rainbow Dash went and flew away back home at a steady pace and just as she exited Motion Reflux's view he turned and began his walk back to Twilight Sparkle's library. Tomorrows going to be a huge day... he thought to himself as he walked, the words echoing in his head until he reached the door of the library. He entered and walked to the bed, it sat a small distance across from Twilights bed. He got into his bed, pulled the covers over himself and fell into a dismal sleep.

~

He woke up, his body shaking; he looked around and saw that he wasn't even on the bed anymore. Infact... there wasn't even a bed! He studied his surroundings, It looks like Twilights place... he thought but neither Twilight Sparkle nor her bed was there across from him. Oddly, the room began to darken slowly like a darkness was overwhelming it. Words began to flow out of the darkness, all jumbled up and unreadable give or take a few words that were out of the loops of other words. Hate, Alone... were the first two words he spotted. He looked around even more, the words flowing down the walls like a puzzle without an answer. Stubbornness, Sadness... were the next two words he spotted out of the confusing mass of white letters. The last word he spotted confused him the most because it seemed so out of place, he repeated to himself the word in the phrasing of a question, "Love?". Without him noticing, the room he was in had turn completely white albeit a shadowy darkness filled ceiling. Suddenly a door opened and out came Princess Luna, she looked around wondering why it was so blank and empty. "Motion Reflux, what has happened here?" she had asked, standing infront of the colt who was sitting on completely blank space. He took a second to even hear what the princess of the night had said but finally replied, "Is this a dream..?" in an innocent tone.

Princess Luna nodded her head, "Yes, this is a dream, but why is your dream so empty..." she gave him a concerned look, "...dreams like this don't happen anymore in Equestria, the dreamscapes I have visited in ponies dreams were always so filled with color and memories..." Motion Reflux stood up and was about to reply but Luna raised her hoof signaling not to speak, "...your dream doesn't have any kind of memory, nor does it have color and emotion; This must have something to do with sis asking me to..." she planted her hoof on the ground, stopping mid-speech and closing her eyes, ranting, "Yes, that must've been why.." He asked, "Princess; If I may ask, what did Celestia ask you to do..?" but she shook her head gently, turning and making her way out of the dreamscape, "She's instructed me not to tell you, Reflux... if her knowledge is true, there is something special that is going to happen to you in this 'other' land..." She said other like she knows what it is... he thought to himself, Luna still speaking "...I don't know what my sister has in plan for you, Motion, but I know that she's always right about these things... even if her plans aren't always the best...". Princess Luna was at the door in the dreamscape, she turned and bowed her head, "Goodbye, Motion Reflux". She then turned back and exited out the door which was then sealed off by the white void surrounding it.

~

Motion Reflux woke up, he looked around and noticed every single thing back where it belongs, except he still woke up off the floor rather than his bed. He shook his head twice to wake himself up, he finally stood up and looked out the window. Well, it's already daytime. he streched a bit and made his way to the front door. By the door he saw Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna talking to each other; he saw Luna nod her head and Twilight Sparkle tilt hers afterwards. He couldn't hear a word they were saying but the conversation lasted a few seconds which ended up with...

"Hey Motion, you're awake!" exclaimed Twilight Sparkle, she motioned with a hoof for him to join in the conversation mid-way. She said to the princess, "So you'll be escorting him to this new land?" and Luna answered, "Yes, I'll take him as far as my sister permitted before I let send him on his own with a map." the princess turned towards him, "It's not that long of a journey from here in Ponyville, Motion; Tia said I have to make sure you get there, she couldn't do it herself because of how busy she is". Twilight asked, "Luna, I saw you and the Princess Celestia talking together earlier and I heard her say something about the return of an old set of something..." she tilted her head, "All you did was nod your head but I still need an answer to what this something is!" Motion Reflux sat not knowing how to enter in the conversation, so he just listened in as Luna whispered in a quiet voice into Twilight Sparkles ear, covering her mouth with a hoof so he couldn't tell what was being said. Twilight Sparkle covered her mouth with a hoof in surprise, not knowing how to respond anymore.

They both nodded and Luna exited out the door to talk to her sister who is right outside. Twilight Sparkle turned to her friend and said, "I really can't believe what the princess told me, Motion... This task is truly going to be an adventure through friendship like mine, I'll tell Rainbow Dash that you've said goodbye because I know she'll be wondering why you didn't." She motioned with a headtilt telling him to go see the princesses. Motion Reflux nodded and said, "I'll see you later Twi, maybe we'll see each other again someday." and then he walked out the door towards the two conversing princesses.

Princess Celestia caught that he was walking towards them and with her eyes Luna saw knew the same thing. They both stopped talking and Luna turned towards him, he bowed infront of them both and stood back up. Celestia was the first to set up the conversation, "Motion, my sister has told me about what was happening in your dreamscape and now I know completely that I've made the right decision; You already know what the Elements of Harmony are, right?" and all he did was nod, Princess Luna stepped into the conversation and said, "An old set of elements has been felt in a cosmic field, elements that only arrive every 500 years-" Celestia raised a hoof towards her sister telling her to stop so she can speak, "These elements are special because of that and because of how devastating they can be; their essences being planted within special ponies." Luna planted a hoof, wanting to speak and so she did, "As with the Elements of Harmony, there is one elusive element that does not follow with the rest, being born at a random interval of year after the old one has passed on; All the documents about these elements were lost through time and the knowledge my sister and I keep are limited, but we know that world is changing once more.

"It is very rare to feel the full set of these elements and it can cause a massive lash at the workings of our world." But why are the elements so destructive...? he thought to himself... "You'll find out why soon enough, Motion." answered a smiling Celestia like she knew what he was thinking. Luna rolled her eyes and said to her sister, "That's not very princess-like thing to do, sis." and Celestia turned to her sister and whispered something into her ear, she then turned to Motion Reflux and said, "You two may depart for the outskirts of Equestria now, may your trip go well."

Celestia departed back to Canterlot, she didn't bring a carriage this time around so she flew back very majestically. "Let's go, Motion." sternly said Luna as she hovered up into the air and slowly began to fly, he saw this and quickly followed with his own flight and followed beside the princess.

As they made their way through the sky towards the boundaries of Equestria, he asked, "Hey Luna, didn't you say you were going to give me a map?" and there was a quick reply of "Yes, but I lied so that Twilight didn't have to worry. The path we're following is quick easy as you just keep moving forward until you hit a land of snow that is unapparent and unnatural to be there." and she said all of this while looking forward and flying, her face focused on her task. Motion Reflux flipped 180 degrees and began to fly upside down, Luna looked over and cracked a soft giggle hidden under a hoof, "Motion, May I ask you a question?". "Sure" he replied and she asked, "Why did you decline your invitation to the Wonderbolts?" and he said answered, "I don't like organized flight and being a groups. I might've been good at flying but it wasn't my all-out favourite thing to do." he flipped over to fly properly again, he chuckled slightly "I guess I picked up a bit of laziness from Dash."

The flight seemed endless even though she said it was short, then Luna flew down and landed and Motion Reflux followed by landing beside the princess. "Here's where you'll be off by yourself Motion, just keep straight and you'll arrive there." she gave him a soft smile, he nodded and immediately hugged Luna farewell. She returned the embrace with one foreleg and then he pushed away. "Goodbye Princess Luna, I'll look up to your moon and your sisters sun everyday." he smiled and began his journey past the boundaries of Equestria. Luna waved goodbye, a heroic smile on her face as she saw him walk away from her view. She turned and took flight back towards Canterlot to tell her sister that her task is complete and that Motion Reflux has begun his adventure through friendship.

Incision - Part 2

Motion Reflux had entered a new land that was unknown to him and to Equestria, as he flew forward he noticed the land changing from a lush green to a pale white and he figured that he was nearly there. The seasons magically begun to change before his eyes from a wonderous summer to a foggy and cold winter, the degrees shifted from a warm embrace to a cold whisp and within sight he could see the large walls of what seemed to be a large town. He pressed further and could notice the walls were made of a magically strong stone that was covered by thin whisks of snow. As he made he got closer the fog spread apart to reveal towers that led into the sky as well as spotting platforms at different elevations connected by spiraling bridges.

Woah... was all he could think. His gaze shifted to grey guards covered in a reflective silver armor protecting a closed wooden gate that provided as the entrance to this sky city. He walked up to the guards and noticed they were both unicorns which was strange to him as the guards he's seen are mostly pegasi. The two guards shifted their sights towards to unknown blue stallion standing at the front gate of the city, one of them steps forward and shouts "Halt! Who are you and what is your business?"

He looked at the guard that had spoken and said in a shaky tone, "Uh... my name's Motion Reflux, I come from the land of Equestria under task of Princess Celestia..". The other guard spoke, "We don't allow citizens of Equestria into Skyfell, turn back and leave the way you came." then the guard whom stood ahead stepped back into his spot and they both stood at the gate.

The gates swung open and a large pearl-white pegasus mare stood behind it. She gave her guards an angry stare but then smiled, "Welcome, Motion Reflux.". She had a metal device strapped onto her body, a large glowing tube on each side in a horizontal position. In a sudden movement, Motion Reflux had been engulfed by a shimmering white aura and picked up off the ground by the mare, her mechanical device glowing the same color. Wa- was all he could think as the large mare pulled him into the city.

"Welcome, to the city of Skyfell!" she exclaimed as the gates closed behind them, the city close up revealing many large pillars extending high into the sky as bridges connected back and forth in twists and spirals as well as inclines and declines. She continued levitating him until they reached the main castle which stood upon the ground it was built upon, then letting him go of her magical grip on him infront of her throne as she flew onto and sat upon it.

She smirked, "I had been contacted by an old friend of mine and she told me to allow you special access into my city, but at due price of course". Her eyes were as blue as the sky but her stare is, as piercing as the freezing cold to Motion Reflux as she smiled and said those words. "Tell you what.." she paused for a moment, waving her hoof and rolling her head, "...the price is that you'll have to do some small jobs and tasks for me while you are in my city!" she giggled somewhat cutely, covering her mouth with her hoof while doing so.

What have I gotten myself into...? he thought to himself but remembered he still had his task to complete as well, she did only tell him small jobs and tasks so they shouldn't stray him from his original ideal task assigned to him. He nodded, "Alright; do you have anything you want me to do right now, Princess?" he paused and asked a second question, "Also if I may ask, what's your name?"

She trotted up to him patted his head with her hoof, "My name is Snowfall" she walked around him, her face becoming serious as she continued "...and yes, talk to the Commandant of the Guard and he'll brief you in on your first job." then she flew upwards past a vertical door into her own quarters. Motion Reflux nodded, turning his attention to finding the Commandant but in a good stroke of luck, a guard had already waiting for him at the castle doors.

The guard saluted as Motion Reflux approached and said, "Commandant's waiting for you outside, sir!". "Eh... at ease?" said Motion Reflux and the guard then planted his hoof back down and stood like a living statue, he walked passed the guard and through the door.

The blissful snow continued to fall as the wind spread its coat over the land; the snow had been seen as mystical and magical yet destructive and destroying. A solid white pegasus with a fiery detailed mane that protruded out of his steel golden-outlined helmet stood by a frozen fountain that had stand in the middle of the park right outside of the main castle.

Motion Reflux trotted up to him and greeted him, "Hello! You must be the Commandant?" and the white pegasus nodded, "The princess has notified me to brief you on your assigned task." He hovered and stamped over his head, "There has been a string of disappearances in the Northern District of Skyfell, locally named Tower One and we need you to find out where the victims are and who is behind it." He landed behind him and continued, "I warn you, not many people here in Skyfell like Equestrian citizens like you." he quickly jumped into the air and flew off.

Motion Reflux trotted away after hearing his task so he can find his way to the Northern District. Taking his time walking he looked up to see the fog clearing away and could see many pegasi soaring and flying across platforms yet staying within the boundaries of the city. All his thoughts resinded to seeing the sign above the door that had shown the number one. Here it is... the Northern District. he thought to himself as he spread apart his wings and jumped into the air; he begun to soar upward into the sky along the tower, passing by many bridges and flying pegasi until he landed at a nearby platform.

The first thing he noticed were earth ponies and unicorns talking to each other, one of them looked over at him with a face of disgust and then they all dispersed. Other groups dispersed as well so in the end, Motion Reflux was alone on the pearl platform that used to be full of life. He looked around confused, How could he even find a friend if everypony already hates him? He looked around once more and spotted a radiant yellow pegasus leaning over the railing on the edge, gazing at the snow. Her attention immediately turned to him; her stare as hateful as the grudging darkness that clouded his mind. She had a bright pink mane with a shocks of what seemed to be a darker shade of her manes original color. Her eyes were a bright red and the cutie mark she bore was a butterfly with a strike of lightning from a white cloud.

"Go away, you're not wanted here." is all she said as she turned back her attention to the snow that continued to fall. He approached slowly, his loyalty to making atleast one friend in this crazy city was still overpowering his common sense to follow what she says, "Uhm... what's your name?"

Silence...

In one swift motion she turned, a knife-like device that was connected to the rear of her right forehoof extended out from a sheath hidden on the back side of her right foreleg. The sharp end of the sharp steel knife was held right between his eyes, only making contact with the fur there.

"Tell me why you're even trying to talk to me, pitful soul." her eyes made contact with his, the sharp stare as deadly as the knife she held against him. He was shaking slightly from the danger right in his face, his thoughts scrambled to make up a reason as he blurted out and stuttered, "D-Do you know anything a-about the re-recent dis-disa-", she interrupted him "Disappearances?" she retracted the knife back and stood properly.

"Yes, I do know and infact everypony in the Northern District knows; but why should I tell a disgusting waste of flesh like you the knowledge I contain?" she turned and whipped him with her tail right in his face, "Don't ever talk to me again, you worthless pegasus." she spread her wings and took flight to a higher platform.

He couldn't even speak, she put him down on everything and said all of her lines without even a bit of emotion. He tapped his chin with a hoof, figuring that there's something more to her. His thoughts drifted off to his sense of motion, he could feel her shiver when she said that everypony in the Northern District knows, so he figured that could've been an entire lie in itself.

Maybe I can still complete Princess Snowfall's task first... he figured as he spread his wings and jumped off the edge, taking flight once more to the higher platform. As he flew upward, another flying pegasus bumped into him and almost made him fall right down to the ground but he managed to keep on course to the next platform above.

The tower seemed to reach past the sky and platforms ranging from parks to homes kept circling up higher and higher. He landed on the platform and noticed that everypony had already left when he arrived, except for the same pegasus that stood a tree length across from him.

She had a look of anger on her face as she store at him, seemingly ready to strike at any moment. The bright yellow pegasus took a step forward, her wings slowly spreading so she can make a quick dash towards the annoying blue pegasus in front of her. "Tell me why haven't you left yet." she stated as she continued to take steps towards him; he said to her with a smirk since this time he knew what to say, "You still haven't told me your name."

"Swiftshock" she said.

"I'm Motion Reflux" he said.

She held out her right forehoof to the side and extended the steel knife hidden behind it and began running towards him. He spread his wings and was about to jump over her but in quick reaction she closed her wings, a ripple of extraordinary energy originating from her shot out in all directions and flashing right through walls and objects, as well as ponies.

He tried to jump and takeoff into the air but he wings wouldn't catch air anymore and he fell right back down on his plot, getting a knife held up at his neck in an instant. "Having trouble flying?" she smirked, her piercing red eyes connecting to his as he couldn't move in fear of having his throat slashed open.

Pegasi began to fall out of the sky in slowed motion around them as he replied, "W-What did you do?" he tried to move but she held the knife even closer and said, "Don't try to move, I only just disabled your flight and everypony elses as well." she giggled aggressively, "I didn't use my whole power so it should only affect a few pegasi."

He looked up in disbelief and she put her muzzle near his ear and whispered, "Yes, I did lie about everypony knowing about the disappearances but I still won't give you any of my knowledge of them." she took a step back, retracting the knife back into its sheath and spreading her wings in one swift motion, the wave moving backwards and flight returning to all the pegasi in the immediate vicinity.

Motion Reflux flapped his wings a few times and hovered, sighing in belief that he could fly again. She turned towards a large mansion that sat on the platform and trotted towards it, "Leave now, insignifcant colt; You're not welcome here." she walked through the open gates which closed behind her and vanished into the mansion.

He sat there, dumbfounded and confused about what had just transpired. He was about to fly off until he noticed a dark shaded purple unicorn sitting right by a corner of the platform. She looked like had been crying for quite some time now and so he tried approaching her. She noticed him walking towards her and in immediate action she stood and her horn shimmered a twilit shine. She ran forward and her body began to disappear like she was teleporting away, but instead of a flash of light for a teleport she looked as if she was crossing into an invisible tear in space. A purple trail of stars flowed across the sky magically showing her path as she transported elsewhere in Skyfell.

He watched as this all happened and didn't understand how it did happen in the first place; but he shrugged it off and jumped off the edge, spreading his wings and taking flight back down to the ground-level of Skyfell where the main castle stood.

As he made his way into the castle, Princess Snowfall was sitting upon her throne within the main hall. "Hm? Why are you back so soon, Motion?" she toyingly smiled. He looked at her and asked, "I have a few questions about one of your citizens." she looked at him and he said, "Do you know anything about the pegasus Swiftshock?"

Princess Snowfall giggled and said, "Do you have a crush on her or something?" she smiled happily and gave him the information.

She cleared her throat and began to speak, "Yes I do know her, I know all my subjects within Skyfell. She was born within a rich family in the Northern District and was pampered with everything she wanted. Later in her life she developed a disorder with her personality and became very aggressive towards others. Her parents died a few years afterwards after a small fight within the family because of her; she did this by grafting together a piece of crude technology that she connected to her foreleg that extended out a sharp piece of steel which she had used to slice up her own parents."

Princess Snowfall closed her eyes, "She brutally tortured them until they died by first tying them in their sleep and taking an assortment of crude sharp steel objects she created by herself. She didn't get what she wanted so she tore open her own mothers belly with a claw and disemboweled her mothers own organs as her father watched in pain. Then she unsheathed her crude knife and slashed at her fathers whole body over a hundred times, the final blow being her slicing his throat open."

Princess Snowfall sighed, "We captured her and held her within a cell for days on end, giving her treatments, therapy and special care until she was fixed but in the end we could only help her keep it under control for only a short time and we couldn't fix her aggresiveness."

He listened to the whole speech, his face in shock the whole time. The room darkened as night already began to fall upon the city and the princess asked, "Is that all you needed to know?". Motion Reflux could only nod and then she said, "It's getting late so I must go rest; There is a room settled up for you in the left wing over there." she pointed with a hoof and then jumped over him, "Good Night, Motion Reflux. May your dreams be pleasant." she giggled weakly as she flew up into her room on the top floor.

He sighed, listening to the story really dampened the mood as he trotted over to his room in the left wing of the castle. He arrived and entered; the room was just like any other room in the castle, there was stone walling and it had a dresser, mirror, a few lights that were switched off and a table with a chair. There was one window looking outside but it was covered by the curtains right now but the only difference this room had is that the bed was made of a soft blanket of clouds.

She must've had this made for me while I was away. he brushed his hoof along the cloud bed, Might as well use it he thought as he hopped onto the bed and laid in it. It was soft, plush and gentle like the clouds he usually slept on in Equestria. Confirming this, he nuzzled into his pillow and yawned; he was sleepy and he knew it so he shut his eyes and fell into a hasty sleep.

~

He seemed to be in a white voided room once more, a lifeless incoherent place that he doesn't like the feel of. He couldn't even think to himself, or his thoughts would be echoed through the dream. He couldn't feel emotion or it would be doubled or tripled. He couldn't move, his motion was being held back. He couldn't force things to happen or else he gets a force of a dropping anvil smacking his gut. He couldn't see properly, his vision was blurred.

Before in Equestria, the dream was tame and listened to him; Now his dream goes against him and keeps him in stasis until he awakes the next morning, he just sat there... Motionless

~

Hoofsteps.

He was already asleep and couldn't see a shadowy figure of a pony walking into his room. The pony brushed her hoof against his mane and sat on the bed beside where he lay. It seemed that she just got up and left the room, closing the door silently behind her to not wake the sleeping colt.

Shock - Part 1

Hush now... it's alright...

The morning stroke as time began to flow back into the almost lifeless body of Motion Reflux, he was aching badly from his less-than-average sleep. He growled as he stretched; even if the bed was comfy, his sleep wasn't in the least. As he rolled off of his bed he noticed a note pinned onto the door of his room. A bit cofused by this, he picked it up with a forehoof and read it.

--
Dear Strange Pony,

I don't know why you've taken up in your mind to find knowledge about an uninteresting pony and if you want to figure out the truth about the disappearances, find me. I'll be within the Northern Districts Fifth Platform at the stroke of twelve at night, wait under the large oak tree for me there.

Yours Truly,

A Friend
--

A Friend? he thought to himself, taking a seat back on his plush cloud bed and pondering. He figured that he could investigate a bit more about the mystery until then and see if he could unearth anything. Another thing he thought through was that he could make some more friends before then, killing two birds with one stone in the process.

He stretched once more and stood up, there was also a bag on the table in his room so he trotted up to it and took a peek inside to see a blueberry muffin. His mouth watered because he enjoyed the taste of muffins and cupcakes more than anything else in the world. He picked up the bag and flipped it over dropping the muffin right onto the table and he began to munch away at it. It was eaten quickly and when he was finished he exited out of his room and walked towards the exit of the castle, passing Princess Snowfall who wondered where he could be going off to.

The morning was as dull as yesterdays evening, it was still snowy and windy with the only difference being that it was brighter atmosphere. Something he really wanted to do was find the teleporting purple unicorn he saw last night but that had to be kept for next time. Right now he figured he would visit another district.

He walked over to the Western District which was still close to the Northern District and he flew up to the first platform. When he landed on the platform the first thing he noticed was a large library that took half of the floor, the other half being grass and stone paving. He looked in astonishment as he walked towards the grand door of the library and entering.

As he walked along the soft red carpet, he noticed at the front desk a brightly cyan colored unicorn with a darker shaded yet still brightly colored cyan mane. She flipped through pages of books and scanned them through with ease, carrying book after book with her magic into her view and placing it back afterwards with no effort. Her entire focus was on those books.

He walked past her and headed towards the shelves of books, seeing if he could find one about-... "Ah ha!" he exclaimed as he found the book he needed. It was a book of history on the city of Skyfell that he hovered up the large bookshelves and grabbed. He headed towards a large table in the middle of the library where ponies could read in silence.

Motion Reflux wasn't really a fan of reading books but right now was an exception, he needed the knowledge about the city right now. He flipped through the pages, it was an extensive book with a huge amount of pages to read. As he flipped past each page he stopped on page 67 and read...

-Disconnection from Mainland-

Times were dreary in Skyfell during the four-hundreth seventy-first summer solstice where stocks of food were running low and morale was lost. The citizens pleaded to the princess for help but she did not give it to them, shoving them away from her kingdom of Canterlot. They pleaded once more and again they were denied the help they needed. In the end, the citizens of Skyfell decided to separate themselves from Celestia. They created massive stone walls and a large wooden gate that disconnected their land from Equestria, sending a scout to Celestia with a letter stating their leave to become an independent nation. Skyfell advanced in their technology much faster, creating food like apples from apple trees that they have altered to grow faster and create a more abundant harvest. This was the beginning of a new age for Skyfell.

"Huh?" he whispered to himself as he shut the book, he didn't know whether or not this writing was true or false but atleast it was something to know about why Skyfell wasn't apart of Equestria anymore. He quickly put the book back and trotted out, the unicorn who was focussed on her books is just silently reading through one large book and didn't notice him leave.

He went towards the edge of the platform he was on and looked over, seeing an orchard of apple trees and a large wheat field. He also noticed that it wasn't snowing directly in that area, the snow was whirling around it like the whole farm was incased within a protective bubble. Another landmark to remember and maybe another place to visit some other time. He jumped off the edge of the platform and spread out his wings, beginning to soar through the sky to the Northern District.

The gale shifted its ferocity by blowing the magical snow even more fiercely than before. Motion Reflux struggled had landed on the third platform of the Northern District before the angry wind began to blow, flight was near-impossible now. He made his way towards the structure-holding tower and entered it, going higher up the staircase to the fourth platform.

He passed the entrance and noticed a familiar looking yellow pegasus with a solid pink mane. She turned her head and noticed him, flaring her wings in preparation. "Hey there..." he softly spoke to her, approaching in slow steps.

"What do you want, peon?" said Swiftshock as she turned and planted her hooves on the ground, standing tall and fierce. Her stare was as sharp as a tempered blade he noticed and knew that there was something odd.

He returned the stare and asked her, "Do you like animals, Swiftshock?" and all she did to reply was a simple nod. That was the icing on the cake that she did have a soft side to her angry persona. "Don't you have something better to do, little idiot?" she forcefully put out, almost cracking his mental shell. He turned away and took in a deep breath, "I just want to talk, you know, as friends".

She laughed, "You think I'm your friend, musky scent?" she brushed her wings against his cheek, "I'm sure we're not friends and that everypony in Skyfell hates you" she turned and smiled, "Don't think we're friends because we're not". Swiftshock walked right past him and leaned against the edge, "Now go away, stupid colt."

He grunted and walked away, finally faltering to the pseudo-insults she's been throwing at him continuously and furiously. He turned to see her giggle, her bright red eyes piercing right through his gaze. Motion Reflux turned away and made his way to the tower, descending back to the ground floor. His thoughts turned from Swiftshock to asking Princess Snowfall about why Skyfell disconnected from Equestria so that he can expand on his knowledge.

Making his way back towards the castle, he was interrupted by a blue colored pony crashing into him. Her mane was ruffled and messy and her tail was the same, her fur was a soft blue while her mane and tail were a darker blue. He snuck a look at her flank to see her cutie mark which was a thunderbolt and many plus signs.

"O-oh... oh!" she started, "I'm so, so sorry!" she apologized as she picked him back up, her energy was astounding as she hyperactively hopped up and down, "My name is Plusle Pulse!" she smiled, "Most ponies just call me Plusle~" she waved, "You must be that new pony that arrived! It's so nice to meet you, what's your name?"

"My name's Motion Reflux" he said in an organized manner, brushing away some dirt that got caught in his mane, "It's nice to meet you too, Plusle". She hopped, "I've gotta go! Mydowninthedumps bro needs me~" she quickly leapt and made her way into the Western District Tower.

Strange Pony... was all he could think, he noticed she was very hyper and kind because she didn't seem to hate him in the slightest. He walked into the castle and saw that Princess Snowfall wasn't there, "She must be away on royal business" he said to himself as he turned.

A Headache...

The headache came to him in a sudden instant, hitting him with the force of a dropping anvil. He shrugged it off and kept his mind forward, ignoring the pain. His vision was shaking, his legs were trembling but he kept his composure and went to the Northern District.

It was already getting dark and he guessed it was time to get to the fifth platform and wait under the tree for his unknown friend. The windstorm slowly ended which re-allowed the pegasi to fly through the city so Motion Reflux instinctively jumped up and scaled the tower quickly.

It only took a few moments to arrive at the fifth platform, the sky darkened and a small fog swept over the city. He walked up to the tree in the center of the platform and sat under it, the pain all over his body soon overpowering him. He couldn't move anymore and all he could do was breath, speak and look around.

"Hush now, quiet now..." said somepony as she walked into his view and revealed herself to be Swiftshock. He winced and tried to move, but his limbs were numb and uncooperative. "Sleep" she said as an evil smile crept across her face. Everything began to become ever blurrier and soon it all just went black.

He passed out...

Swiftshock giggled and picked him up onto her back, taking him someplace else where nopony was around and where nopony ever dare tread.

It took a few hours before he could muster back the ability to wake up, but he didn't want to open his eyes because he knew something was wrong. He tried to move his hooves and they wouldn't budge away from a fixed position like they were tied down. Next he tried to spread his wings but they were bound tightly onto his body with a strong bandage. He didn't want to open his eyes still and through his ears he heard...

Hush now... It's alright...

Shock - Part 2

"Hah..." he took a breath in and slowly creaked open his eyelids to see he was in a basement. No, not just any basement but the literal meaning of a horror basement. There was blood everywhere, guts could be seen laying in random piles on the ground. The lightbulb above him flickered annoyingly in bursts; he couldn't move so all he could do was look around in a panic. Suddenly he heard a voice from the dark.

Hush now... It's alright... said a voice beyond the darkness of the room and next he could hear the hopping of small feet and many other sounds. He figured that whomever captured him really loves animals. Motion Reflux couldn't figure out who is was because his mind became blank after passing out. Then a yellow pony with the eyes of a destructive catalyst walked past the shadowy darkness.

"Hey there, ninny-colt." she said as she extended the blade from a sheath beneath her left hoof, brushing the blunt edge of the blade against his belly. "Nice of you to finally wake up." she finished as he pulled away, leaving a slight cut. His hearing continued to slowly return to him as he began to hear the crying of ponies. His vision came back to focus afterwards and he could finally see slightly more past the shadows of the room. He looked around to see a staircase leading up to a door and then as he turned his head he saw ten to twenty prison cells. He looked closer at a few of them and noticed blood on the cell bar doors.

Swiftshock pulled beside her a cart with a tray, the tray full of sharp, blunt or toothed steel objects. There was a second tray in the middle slot of the cart that had a box full of small syringes filled with a unknown substance. She immediately pulled out the box and flung open the lid, taking out a syringe and smiling, "This adrenaline shot will keep you awake." Then she swiftly jabbed the needle of the syringe right into one of his forelegs, the adrenaline being pumped quickly into his body until the needle was pulled out after it was emptied fully. It wasn't too big of a syringe of but it sure still hurt a lot for him.

Swiftshock turned her head and her right ear perked up like she began hearing something. Then she turned her body and looked at the empty space beside her and muttering, "I know, I know! I'll get to it..." then she turned back to Motion Reflux, wide awake and listening to her mutters. He managed to catch the slight tinge of glowing red eyes in the darkness but the most mysterious thing is that he felt steps moving away from him that were whispy and ghost-like.

"Now where was I..?" she smiled, she picked up a sharp bonesaw and ran a hoof across its blunt side, "These bonesaws are for cutting bones, but for you..." she looked up at him, her red eyes glowing from the reflection of light against them, "I'm just going to give you some lovely cuts on your legs to make sure you don't run away". A scream could be heard in the background of this fiasco and she turned, frowning towards where the sound originated and mumbled to herself, "One of my animal friends must've got into one of the cells..." she turned her view back to him and continued, "They have a peculiar habit of eating the dead ponies that I leave here~"

She positioned the bonesaw against his left leg and pressing the toothed edge against it, puncturing his leg slightly. Swiftshock slowly and gruelingly pulled the bonesaw across his leg, leaving a large incision and pulling it away so that she didn't completely cut off his left leg. Throughout this experience Motion Reflux growled and shouted in pain, even if it wasn't that big of a wound the toothed edge of the bonesaw made it hurt more than just a straight blade cutting through his leg. Swiftshock stepped back and giggled innocently and as she was about to create a second incision on his right leg she suddenly stopped her foreleg's forward movement as if somepony was holding her back.

She turned her head towards an empty space beside her and shouted in protest, "Let me slice him! He deserves this doesn't he?!" and she struggled and tried to flail about her foreleg though it wouldn't budge as if it was being gripped tightly so after a few moments she sighed and dropped the bloody bonesaw onto the ground, stepping back with her hair dropping over her face. He felt the movement of a ghostly figure again but it was coming closer, seemingly stopping right infront of him. Then he felt a hoof touching his chest like it was inspecting him, then Swiftshock looked up towards Motion Reflux and nodded like she was answering to a question.

A black mist...

It all happened in an instant but the figure of a stallion appeared, he was slightly transparent and was completely black; his eyes were glowing a bright red and his mane and tail were tattered and cut. The dark figure pressed its hoof tightly against Motion Reflux's chest and began to speak without opening his mouth, "Hello there... my name is... Soothing Song..." and as he spoke there were small gaps, "I... come from... Equestria... as you did..."

Pieces of the puzzle slowly began to fill in, an Equestrian in Skyfell who is kidnapping ponies? It sort of made sense to Motion Reflux as he listened. "I... sang songs... songs that... touched hearts... calmed ponies..." he paused, "I came to... Skyfell... when I was little... I met her..." his eyes glew a brighter tinge of red, "Here... they shown no... no kindness...". Swiftshock began to slowly tear up in the back and Soothing Song continued, "I... was murdered here... no one cared... no one paid attention... except her... no one here deserves... kindness... except for... her..."

He stepped away, "Leave... now... you are from Equestria... you don't... belong here... I'm giving you... this one chance... or you'll be next..." he turned away and disappeared in a mist of black smoke. Swiftshock stepped around the smoke and untied Motion Reflux from his binds, saying, "Say a word about this and I'll certainly come after you next, weak minded colt". He dropped like a heavy stone onto the ground from the angled bloody steel table he was bound onto, the pain shooting up from his leg to his whole body. Motion Reflux managed to get up and limp slightly, he then slowly hovered upwards and quickly flew out the door.

The pain kept shooting up his spine; he couldn't hold his wounded leg in place while flying but his stupidity kept him flying back quickly to the castle. He hid behind a bush making sure no guard was around to see him and then snuck his way into the castle and back into his room, already finding a couple of bandages laying on the table with a note.

Dear Motion Reflux,

I hope there are no hard feelings about almost slicing open your leg so I left you a few bandages on your table. It isn't a bad wound from my view and my tools were completely clean so it shouldn't be affected with any infections. Just wrap a couple layers of bandaging over it and it should be okay. I also left you another muffin on your bed and I promise you that it's not drugged this time! Think of this as a goodbye note from Soothing Song as well.

Love,

Swiftshock~<3

There was a large pink heart right beside Swiftshock's name signalling to him that she's completely changed her personality. "This must've been what Snowfall meant by a disorder with her personality" he thought to himself loudly as he put down the note and picked up a bandage roll with his hooves, quickly wrapping his openly-cut leg with one layer, then another layer and finally a final third layer. The pain was still in his leg but it wasn't as bad anymore and he could partially walk normally without limping again; he gently flapped his wings and hovered towards the bed, sitting on the edge of the bed and picking up the muffin that was left for him. He inspected it carefully because he felt it still could be another trap but he decided it was okay, removing the small covering on its lower bread and throwing it immediately into his mouth to devour it quickly.

He rubbed the bandange that covered his wound and sighed, this was a stupid idea in his mind and he knows it but he has to stop Swiftshock and Soothing Song from kidnapping anymore ponies and killing them, he knew how it felt to be there and he knew it wasn't right. His loyalty to finishing the job that Snowfall put upon him had a part in his idea to continue on. Swiftshock wasn't evil on her own part he figured and also believed that she was being controlled by Soothing Song for his plan of revenge.

Knock, Knock...

His attention turned to the door and he stood up, hovering towards it and then opening it to see Princess Snowfall waiting outside. "P-Princess..?" he stuttered, trying to hide the bandage underneath his wing. She asked, "I'm just here to see how you're doing, Motion, you seem distant as of today and I'm wondering if you have any leads on the case." she stepped into the room, waiting for a response. Motion Reflux looked around for a second and returned his view to the princess, replying, "Not any leads yet...", the princess raised an eyebrow and he continued, stuttering slightly, "I'm a-also doing fine, t-thanks for checking though!" he faked a smile and sat back down on his bed.

"I see..." she said concerningly, turned around and walking out the door before turning her head back to him and saying, "Come see me if you need anything.", she turned her head away from him again and walked back to the main hall. He thought that his white lies were being taken in by Snowfall but she actually saw past them without letting him know. She let him do what he wishes to fix this problem and she knows that he'll fix it entirely. Her strapped on magical device stopped glowing as she reached into the main hall.

He looked out the window of his room, the snow wasn't falling so furiously so he decided to go out for a walk. Carefully he got up from the bed and started to slowly walk, being careful not to injure his wound much further. He walked out the castle and walked to a park near the Western District Tower. To his surprise he saw a familiar blue earth pony hopping around though her expansive happiness wasn't really transmitting to anypony around her. She looked over to him and smiled, making a mad dash towards him faster than he could ever fly and she stood tall in front of him, saying happily, "Hi Hi, Motion!~" she pat his head with her hoof.

Motion Reflux rolled his eyes and smiled, "Hey Plusle, what are you doing around here?" he began to trot along a path and she followed beside him and answered, "I'm just hanging about, silly! I can't really think of any other reason except that!~" she hopped high into the air and landed onto his back, sitting. "Ha-Hey!" he complained, "Don't sit on my back!" he snarled but she giggled and said, "Don't get yourself all knotted up just because I'm sitting on your back, Flux~"

He took in a deep breath and sighed heavily, at least she was nicer than everypony else in this crazy city. She was so abundant with energy that it was finally emitting to him in a happy manner, giving him some brightness to balance out the dim days he's been having since he's arrived in Skyfell. She jumped off his back with a flip and landed perfectly, giggling afterwards and saying, "It's been fun, Motion, but I've gotta get going now, see you later!~" she waved goodbye and he returned the gesture by waving back to her as she walked away.

Motion Reflux took in a soft breath and then continued on, a repeating question murmuring within his mind...
How do you kill something you can't touch...?
He stopped in front of the castle that he had unknowingly been walking back to and tapped his chin with a hoof, pondering what the answer could be.

As if time could tell, it was already getting dark once more unnoticingly to him and he looked around in surprise realising the time. He went into the castle and was stopped when he saw Snowfall talking to a unicorn. This unicorn was white like Princess Snowfall, her mane was magnificently longer than any style he's ever noticed and her cutie mark was a green twisting circle behind a gentle white flower. Her eyes were a soft blue and from what he could hear from the distance he could tell she spoke very gentle-like.

The unicorn signalled with her eyes to the princess that Motion Reflux was behind her; she nodded her head and they both separated immediately. Princess Snowfall greeted him happily, "Evening, Motion, how is everything going?" and she smiled; she then yawned slightly, "Please speak quick though, It's almost time to sleep."

Motion Reflux tilted his head and asked, "Who was that unicorn that just left?" and she quickly responded, "That was my niece, Soft Spoken" she sat in front of him and continued, "She loves to speak her mind about matters in the city, be it at the top of the towers towards the district platforms. I don't think you've been to the top yet, have you?" and he shook his head in reply that he hasn't and she spoke once more, "You should visit up there some time, it is one large platform above the clouds that holds all the middle-class and lower-class homes and ponies; it has parks and even environments contained in small biospheres up there..." she yawned once more and stood up. "I must now get to sleep, have a nice night Motion." she finished as she hopped up and flew to her room on the upper floor.

"Visit the top platform..?" he thought to himself aloud before yawning and making the decision that he should get some sleep himself. He turned towards the left wing of the castle and entered through the door, trotting to his room quickly and leaping onto his bed. "I hope Swiftshock and Soothing Song don't find out that I'm still staying in Skyfell yet..." he yawned loudly and thought to himself, "I still need to figure a way to free her from him..." he then fell asleep, snoring softly on the bed with his body splayed out awkwardly across the bed.

Let me tell you a tale,
of a young colt who lost his life,
of prejudice and hate of his origins,
of the loss his friend endured for years on end,
of his return to exact vengeance,
of his peaceful tone but aggressive feel.

Let me tell you a tale,
of a young pony who lost her friend,
of hate and guilt for her people,
of flight and finding of her feelings,
of her obedience to a ghastly creature,
of her nefarious tone but kind feel.

Let me tell you this tale,
that she found her friend dead in front of her doorstep,
of a note she found that showed a symbol of rebellion,
that the symbol had shown a different story of reality,
of a reality that was lost within knowledge and books,
that knowledge and books can become fakes and lies.

This tale of Kindness,

This tale of Anger,

This tale of Vengeance,

This tale of Thundering Kindness.

Rebellion... the word echoed in his head as he slept, the time passing by quickly as he slept as it moved from night to morning. He opened his eyes and stretched, turning his head to the side to see a unicorn sitting and staring at him. "W-Woah!" he fell back off the opposite side of the bed, his legs hung loose into the air and his back contacting the ground. He lifted his head up and took another look, "Are you the princess' niece..?"

"Yes I am." she spoke gently, "My aunt must have already told you my name, but allow me to introduce myself in person. My name is Soft Spoken, niece of Princess Snowfall and next in line to the throne of Skyfell." she bowed and then stood up once more, her expression was almost monotone but she always had a soft smile on her face. Her mane and tail were blissful and long and colored bright blue with a strike of white. Her fur was also just as white as the princess and her eyes were soft blue like the last time he had seen her. He got up and looked at her, his bandaged leg stinging quite a bit from the surprising fall off the bed.

He rubbed his eyes and said, "Well, It's nice to meet you Soft Spoken, my name is M-" she interrupted him, "Motion Reflux, yes, my aunt has already told me quite enough about you." he sighed and she pondered, "May I ask you a question, Motion?". He nodded lightly and she asked, "What is with the bandage on your left leg there?"

He stepped back, looking at his wounded leg and trying to think up an excuse, "U-Um... I fell! Yeah! Somepony knocked me out of the sky as I was flying and I hurt my leg!". She was examining him as he was speaking and then she leapt over the bed and landed beside him, her muzzle close to his ear as she whispered, "Next time, don't get cut up by somepony." her horn shimmered slightly and then she walked around him, her tail brushing against his neck and then she exited the room.

What a strange encounter to him, his lie was looked right passed and she seemed to find the truth faster than he could think of a fake excuse. She was a unicorn but he didn't know if she was an advanced level unicorn that can access the minds of other ponies. The way she spoke to him during their talk was in a very charming tone, something seductive behind those gentle words. He shrugged them off and ignored them, looking to her only as a friend right now.

He looked around his room, wondering what he'll be doing next. Maybe he could find Soft Spoken and hang out with her a bit more, or maybe he could visit the Western District and maybe bump into Plusle again. That... or maybe he could confront Swiftshock in the Northern District.

Pondering, he figured that the latter should be left until he knows how to beat Soothing Song so he decided that he would go visit the library in the Western District to study up on ghosts and then maybe see if he can hang around Plusle afterwards. He walked outside and stretched a bit more, the snow coming to a halt for the day revealing even more details about the city. He looked over to the Southern District Tower and was able to see it was boarded up and locked with a note in front of it.

He flew to the Southern District Tower's door and read the note and it said: ALL RESIDENTS OF SOUTHERN DISTRICT PLEASE USE WESTERN DISTRICT TOWER TO ACCESS TOP PLATFORM, SOUTHERN DISTRICT TOWER IS UNDER HEAVY REPAIRS. then he looked up the scaling of the tower to see large cracks against it as well as it slightly tilting with no balance on each fissure.

Turning around, he took one last look at the crumbling tower before he headed off to the Western District Tower; once arriving he scaled the tower by flying up it to the first platform and landing on it, walking into the library that stood on the opposite end of the platform. He looked over to the front desk to see the librarian unicorn still reading through books in a continuous loop but all he could do is roll his eyes and find the book he needs by himself.

Sifting through one of the large bookshelves, he spots a dark black book; he flies up to the book and pulls it out, landing back on the ground and sitting as he begins reading through the book. He skims through the book that he thinks is going to hold the best knowledge of ghosts but only comes out with knowledge that ghosts aren't real or figments of a greater imagination.

He sighs and puts the book back on the large shelf, quickly exiting the library. What he didn't notice was the librarian unicorn eyeing him as he exited, her attention away from her books for once.

"I guess the only two options now is to run away or fight." he looked down, thinking aloud, "I'll fight if I have to, even if I die I don't want to disappoint the princesses..." he turned to look off the edge of the platform, leaning against the railing and staring off towards the Northern District's third platform. His task now was to try and fight the ghastly being but without any knowledge of how to even hurt the ghost but he knew his time was running short by now.

He jumped off the edge and soar towards the ground, landing softly on his hooves and watching around him cautiously in fear of a surprise attack. Quickly he trotted back into the castle and into the left wing then into his room, finding a note stabbed onto the table. He looked at it in slight fear and read it.

Dear Lead-brained colt,

We see that you haven't left so now we're coming for you.

Unless you want to make this easy, then meet us at sundown on the third platform where my house sits and we will be waiting outside. Either way, you will die a slow and painful death.

Yours Truly,

Swiftshock

Shock - Part 3

///

Even the brightest of ponies are corrupt.

But in the end,

Who is the real monster here?

You are.
///

Time had passed since he had read the note; he had been laying in his bed in waiting and thinking of ways to beat them. He knew that if he was going to fight the ghastly form of Soothing Song, he was going to also have to fight the ferocious Swiftshock in a two versus one duel. He got up since it was almost time to meet them, believing it was better to confront them rather than be snuck up upon.

He quickly flew out of the castle, soaring by Snowfall and Soft Spoken in the process and quickly flying to the Northern District Tower. He landed in front of it and took in a deep breath, it was going to be a rough ride and he knew it.

The snow still wasn't falling this day so he could clearly see the sun as it was falling past the horizon, he did a flip upwards and flew vertically to the third platform.

As he reached it he found two ponies standing outside of the mansion; he landed a few meters from the two and spoke first, "Hello Swiftshock, Soothing Song." and Swiftshock stepped forward and was the first to reply, "Heya, weakling, I see your leg is still wounded." she smiled, "That makes it so much easier to capture you."

Soothing Song stepped forward next and spoke in a fiery echoing voice, "I told you to leave! I gave you a chance! No more chances now, you're going to die." his eyes were glowing a flaming red with a wispy stream eminating from them and his fangs grew in sharpness and size to resemble a changelings. Ghastly wings grew from his sides even though he was an earth pony in the beginning and Motion Reflux couldn't understand how this was happening.

He knew from reading the book that not even ghastly entities can do such transformations from their original form and from that knowledge he quickly figured something was wrong.

The dark entity grew slighty in size and then grew a horn, having spasms and twiches as this ghost began to transform in front of his very eyes. Swiftshock closed her wings swiftly, causing a ripple in space that disallowed flight to whoever was on the platform. Motion Reflux felt this wave of magical space and knew accordingly that he couldn't run anymore and neither could he even try to fly.

Swiftshock stood back, her mane covering her eyes and her head bowed down slightly as a signal that she wasn't going to interfere. Her personality completely changed from aggressive to submissive in this one instance. Soothing Song's transforming completed, he towered over Motion Reflux with his doubled size, his large wisp-like wings spreading apart in a magnificent yet sinister pose and his horn glimmering a shroud of dark aura. His eyes were solid red whilst the rest of his body was slightly transparent. His breathing was long and raspy as he glared menacingly at the worrying colt.

Motion Reflux hesistated and stepped back in horrible fear, this kind of transformation shouldn't even be possible to a ghost. He read that they should keep the form of their old selves but seeing this made him think otherwise. He took in a deep breath and reared the front portion of his body down in preparation. He waited a second and then charged at the large being at his fastest running speed, leaping at the enemies front.

Whisk...

He passed right through the giant ghost without any contact and landed on the ground face first and slid for a few inches. "Ouch..." is all he could get out as he shook his head and stood back up, only to be punched by a large hoof and sent flying once more. By the time he landed, this time on his back, his bandage revealed that more blood was pumping and adrenaline was flowing as he stood up and limped into balancing. His skidding across the ground had caused some fur to be slightly singed and his bandage to completely rip off. The blood from his left leg seeping out slowly from his wound.

Being punted further away wasn't too pleasant in the slightest and bleeding was a far cry from fun. He looked over to where Swiftshock was standing and she just continued to stand there with her eyes covered by the shadow of her mane. This distraction of staring at her didn't help him at all because the aggressive ghost closed the distance and stood in front of him, angry.

The ghost jumped up into the air and flapped his wings, flying. "Wha-What?!" exclaimed Motion Reflux because he knew that Swiftshock used her power to remove flight from the area but was shocked that the ghostly entity could still fly. Soothing Song flew vertically into the air, gaining height and stopping some distance away from the injured Motion Reflux. He then began to dive, his right front hoof extended and the whole right leg morphed into a sharp ghostly scythe.

The distance between the evil wisp and the blue pegasus quickly shortened as the blood-thirsty ghost closed in with his scythe-hoof...

Boom.. went the collision of the scythe against an object.

~

A Flash of white came to Motion Reflux as he felt like time froze around him and he entered a dream state. He began to see a flashback of himself when he was younger...

A young blue colt had just packed his things in a bag that sat upon his back, he was going to run away from his home. There was nothing for him here and there was no reason for him to stay there. He leapt into the air and soared with the darkness of Lunas night hiding him in his escape. He wasn't too good at flying at this age but a year by himself in his room gave him time to teach himself how to fly forward.

The flashback ended suddenly as a second flash of white engulfed his vision and time slowly ticked back to life...
~

He opened his eyes and took in a deep breath, surprised that he was still alive. Looking slowly to his side he saw that the shadow scythe lodged deep into the platform just two inches away from his head. He took out a sigh of relief and noticed that Soothing Song was stuck there. He rolled back to dodge a brief swipe from the aggressors other leg but made his wounded leg rip slightly more open, the blood gushing out at a slightly faster pace.

All he could do was let out a moan of pain as he stood up and stepped back, the dark ghost flailing about with his free leg trying to pull out his trapped scythe-leg.

Motion Reflux now had time to think, ignoring all the pain he had from his almost-broken back and bloody hindleg. It couldn't be a ghost because it wasn't obeying natural law, it couldn't be a pony because it could transform and morph. One thing crossed his mind that gave him a good idea, Soothing Song wasn't real.

He looked over to Swiftshock who had been standing in the same spot the whole time, she must have more control over the ghost than he thought if she didn't have to do anything. The large ghost pulled his scythe-leg out of the platform, freeing himself and looking angrily at Motion Reflux. This time though, he was ready for the attack as he deftly dodged the lunge by the ghost and ran towards Swiftshock.

One thing he knew was that a giant couldn't run too fast, so he knew that he could easily outrun him. He didn't take into account that the ghost could still fly although so he had to roll to the side in a lucky sense that the ghost was dashing towards him. The dark entity landed and skid across the ground on his hooves, turning one-hundred and eighty degrees and still keeping his maniacal stare against Motion Reflux.

Motion Reflux now knew how to beat Soothing Song, or whatever it really was so he waited until the ghost gave another lunge at him. The ghost did so as it was his only real means of attack and in one swift movement Motion Reflux dodged the lunge once more and made a mad dash towards the stationary Swiftshock.

"No!" the ghost shouted, taking too much time to stop and turn and fruitlessly trying to catch up to the quick pegasus. Motion Reflux jumped forward, reaching his forehooves out towards Swiftshock as he collided with her; wrapping his hooves around her body in a tight embrace as they both fell onto the ground.

"You created him..." panted Motion Reflux and Swiftshock replied confused, "What...?" then Motion Reflux answered, "You created this ghost... from your guilt and hate..." he pet her mane as the large ghost began to close the distance. He soothingly said, "You created him to seek revenge..." and he held her closer to himself and continued as time suddenly felt like it halted.
-

"You loved him, didn't you?" said Motion Reflux

"I... I did..." said Swiftshock, genuine tears began to flow out of her eyes.

"A long time ago, when you were both young... they killed him... didn't they?" he asked.

"T-They did..." she stuttered.

"You found him in front of your doorstep, dead, and you knew it wasn't an accident, didn't you?" he said.

"...I... I wanted revenge... I loved him and all of a sudden he was gone... it all clicked together so quickly..." she sadly answered, crying much harder.

“Shh... shh... it’s alright...” he soothing said to her, calming her.

“I couldn’t... couldn’t trust anypony...” she whispered.

He grabbed her cheeks with his hooves and gently turned her head so she would face him and whispering to her, “It’s all over with now... you can trust me...”
-

He pressed his lips against hers tightly and closed his eyes, her eyes shooting open in complete surprise as she blushed with intense heat. The ghost lunged one last time towards them but disintegrated into the mist before his scythe-leg could even touch either of them. Pulling away from the kiss, Motion Reflux smiled softly, "Let off all of those bad feelings on me, let me be your flight from them." he whispered softly to her as he cradled her in his hooves.

He nuzzled her softly as he ignored the pain of his bleeding wound and bruised back, whispering ever-so-softly into her ear, "I now realized... I love you, Swiftshock..." he smiled softly, "Even if we just met, I felt a spark between us and I knew that I had to save you..." he held her tightly in his forelegs, "I knew that it wasn't all your fault, it was your emotions controlling you completely for so long..."

She pressed herself against his body, "Ninny-colt, you sure are one for words." she wrapped herself around him in a loving embrace, "You are just like him..." she let out a sigh of relief, her horrible emotions deflected away for the first time in years for her.

She let go of her hold of the mystical field of flight, the aura she emitted had dissapated without anypony noticing and the ability to fly was restored in the area. She wiped away her tears with a hoof.

As if a magic barrier had been cracked, the Northern District began to shine brightly as the rays of the sun shot past the clouds and onto the tower; the pearl-white tower reflecting the light all around. A unnoticeable light grey mist was now seen as it rose away from the district, as if it had been freed from a mystic shield that covered it for centuries.

They both got up and stood, staring into each others eyes. She blushed softly and he pet her on the head with his hoof. "Maybe you should be cleaning out your basement..?" he smiled, she rolled her eyes and returned the smile, saying, "Yeah... I need to go do that, come over if you want to help or anything..." she looked at him seriously, "I don't really want help though, but if you want to... go ahead."

He laughed for a second and waved goodbye as she trotted quickly into her mansion, he looked over to the side and saw the ashes of a demonic familiar fly away in the breeze, turning white as if it had been let go of the sadness it took in. Motion Reflux took every single piece of knowledge in quite easily, now knowing there was more to this city than meets the eye.

He huffed and knew that this wasn't just a task of friendship anymore, he now figured out that it was a mission to save this city from the hidden problems beneath it; he knew who he was going to see about this issue but he first had to see a nurse pony about his injured back and see if he can get his leg sown up. His left leg had a large sliced mark visibly past the bloody mess that was drooling out of it but he kept calm so it wouldn't end up worse.

Now though, he's made three new friends as well as a lover...

-

A lover...

It was strange to him, he'd never felt this feeling of being loved ever since he was born, he couldn't remember anything before the time he arrived in Cloudsdale with a bag full of belongings when he was young. It was a blissful but scary feeling to him but it wasn't something to dwell upon, he liked this feeling and he wanted to continue to keep it, he loved her but he still doesn't know if she loves him. The kiss still continued to be sensed upon his lips and he couldn't get it away, it was his first kiss so it was strange and unfamiliar; he knew though that he had to do it to save himself and to save her from the evil ghostly entity.

-

He hoped that she did love him back but he did force that kiss on her though so he had a small belief of otherwise. He jumped off the edge of the platform and soared through the sky towards the main castle on the ground and his land on the ground was a roll into standing upright. He fell over although and groaned in pain, his back was in extreme stress and his leg had been bleeding for quite a bit now. He was about to pass out but luckily Soft Spoken just happened to trot out the gate and see him.

She gasped and covered her mouth politely with a hoof and she quickly shook him to keep him awake and sat, slowly beginning to cast a strong healing spell on him. A bright blue aura surrounded his body as the wound slowly began to close, the tissue and muscles connecting back together first and then the skin and fur growing over it afterward. Soft Spoken couldn't help his almost-broken back so the only thing she could do was levitate him with her magic and carry him to his room as fast as she can, running past the gate and through the doors into the left wing and finally past the door to his room and resting him gently on his superbly soft cloud bed.

She panted as sweat trickled off her forehead, her magical energy nearly depleted from healing and carrying a fully grown stallion. He wasn't that heavy and she figured that out from how little energy she needed to use to carry him, but the heavy healing spell was what almost drained her full magical prowess for the time being. She fell right beside him onto the bed and smiled, not able to speak as she calmed down and slowly regenerated her energy. He was feeling much better to be on something much softer instead of hard ground, he reached over and grabbed a large bandage in his hoof, pulling it back and slowly wrapping it around his body in an awkward circle to maneuver around his wings.

As he finished wrapped the whole roll of bandaging around his center body his muscles finally gave in as he went limp onto the bed, his physical energy all depleted from the fight and as much running as he did. He wasn't used to running so much as he always flew around most of the time. His head fell right onto the even softer pillow as he closed his eyes and passed out.

Soft Spoken reached a hoof over to his mane and pet it softly, smirking gently and getting up and off the bed. She wiped away the sweat from her forehead and nodded, soon walking out the room and closing the door.

"Sweet Dreams..." she whispered in a soft voice as the door slowly closed shut and she went back to doing what she was going to be doing.

Conduct

"Hey Ninny-colt!" a familiar voice shook the drowsy body of Motion Reflux, he had a few days of rest in his room already with a few visits from Soft Spoken as well as some nurse ponies in regular checkups. His awkward bandaging from before had been replaced with properly wrapped bandaging that had been done by one of the nurse ponies that had entered the room.

He turned his head and growled gently, his eyes opened to see Swiftshock laying right beside him, he took dropped his head back onto the pillow and closed his eyes once more. "Hey Swiftshock" he said unamused, "What brings you here?" he took in a deep breath and continued, "Also... how did you even know I was here?"

She smiled happily, her eyes closed in delight but her face turned from bright to serious as she said, "Well it's not like I wanted to visit you or anything, you know, I thought I would be a nice gesture to see how you're doing." she booped his head gently with her hoof, "The Northern District seems so much brighter now with what you've done." she looked away and closed her eyes, "I just want to... you know... Thank you for... for uhm... for saving me..." she opened her eyes and smiled brightly, "I really, really do thank you, Ninny-colt!~"

The blade that was sheathed underneath her hoof extended out as she put it up to his neck, grinning evily, "I'll make your death quick and painless..." she retracted the blade and hugged him tightly, flapping her wings in joy! Her mane brushed against his face, causing him to sneeze gently. She giggled at his cute sneeze and rolled ontop of his back, nuzzling into his mane like an overly obsessed marefriend, whispering, "If you ever leave me... you better watch every corner of the streets because I'll come for you..." and she giggled seriously, her eyes glowing a sharp red.

"Never leave me."

His right eye sparked magically like something inside him just clicked. He flapped his wings and asked, "Hey Swift, can you get off my back now?" he turned his head to see her with one eye, "I also think I need some alone time now... maybe visit tomorrow because the nurse ponies said I should be well enough to travel around again by then."

She nodded reluctantly and hovered off of him and off the bed, nuzzling him gently, winking and speaking in a soft tone, "I'll see you later then...~" and then she walked out of the room, slamming the door closed behind her as if she was angry. He took in a deep breath and let out a gentle sigh, rubbing his back with a forehoof and rolling over to look towards the ceiling. He heaved himself off the bed, limping slightly towards the table and sitting on the chair that was beside it. His leg felt so much better now that somepony had healed it, but he doesn't know who did so; at least all he has to worry about now is his hurting back.

He looked over to the bed and thought to himself that maybe some more rest until tomorrow will lighten up his mood much more than how he feels right now. He lightly flapped his wings and gently hovered as carefully as he could, setting himself on the bed and letting the side of his head fall back onto his pillow. He closed his eyes and quickly fell into a silent sleep.

-

The day he left home was the greatest day of his life, no more sheltering and no more hateful and abusive words laid against him. He wanted to forget and so he did, he hovered gently with his little wings and roamed towards the general direction of Cloudsdale. He did his studying and he knew which way to go and where he was running away to. Leaving no evidence behind and leaving no trace of himself, he fled.

Loneliness was a company he grew used to and he wasn't too afraid of being by himself in a world of strangers. His small wings were tired out and he panted gently, he wasn't too used to flying for such a long time so he hovered down and landed beside a tree, laying down to take a small rest. It'll be awhile before he can reach Cloudsdale so it was better that he took his time, he had the advantage of sensing motion so he knew when to hide. He closed his eyes and took a nap, his small body snuggled up against the tree he lain beside.
-

Time passed by quickly with a new day arising off the horizon. Motion Reflux woke up groggily, facing upwards he rubbed his eyes with his forehooves and then opened them.

This isn't the castle...

It wasn't the castle in the slightest, the walls were made of solid marble and the floor was carpeted, the bed was large and could accommodate two ponies and it itself wasn't made of clouds like his bed in the castle. The bed was made of fabrics and wood, he was also tucked into a blanket on the bed as he surveyed his surroundings.

He wondered where he was and he rolled to his side to see the empty spot with the blanket draped off the bed messily as it wasn't fixed. He pushed away the covers and hopped off the bed, standing easily on his legs for the first time in a couple of days. His back wasn't hurting as much as before which was a plus, but he still needed to figure out where he is.

His attention immediately turned to the closed double door on the opposing side of the room, opposite to the beds position. He felt the motion of somepony walking towards the door.

The doors slowly opened... "Heya Ninny-colt!" was the happy sound that came out from the door. Swiftshock walked through the door and giggled, her ears flapping in visible joy to see her friend awake. Motion Reflux exhaled a gentle breath that he was holding in, he knew where he was now. Swiftshock turned in a full quick circle, brushing her tail against his face on purpose and afterwards saying, "The princess said that you could stay here now! Isn't that wonderful?" her gaze immediately changed to anger, "I didn't want you here though, just think of it like a friendly gesture." she said in a hazy tone. She pounced onto and wrapped her hooves around his neck in a happy hug, smiling once more.

"Yeah... okay..." he brushed his forehoof against her soft pink mane and then escaped from her embrace. He flipped and then hovered in the air, "So you wanna do anything now that I can move about on my own?" he rolled his eyes and looked away, "That and the fact you essentially took me here beyond my will, which I forgive, but anyways...?"

She hopped, "Let's go visit the top platform! That's where the whole of the city is truly located!". He nodded and she gleefully cheered, "Let's go then!"

They both exited the room, Swiftshock following behind Motion Reflux. They had a quick breakfast in the dining room that she had already made before he was awake and then departed the mansion to the large top platform that was hidden above the clouds by flying to it.

It was a bright and sunny day, the snow glided gently along the air and shimmered gently in the Northern District, the sun seemed like it was growing stronger when you tried looking up towards it past the mist of white flakes from the sky.

-

There were hoofsteps and with a quick nudge of motion, the small pegasus woke up and rolled into a nearby bush. It looked like a normal earth pony going for a jog, he saw when he poked his head out of the bush when she passed by. He let out a gentle sigh and picked up his bag of belongings, continuing his trek to run away from home.

He looked both ways to make sure nopony was around and then he quickly hovered upwards and glided forwards. Flying a few meters forwards he landed and gently plucked a feather off his wing, laying it on the ground. He wanted to hide his tracks and lead anypony searching for him, off the track. Bending down, he inhaled and then blew the air out against the small blue feather, sending it flying away into another location.

Now he had to just get away from the place he once lived in, there was no point in remenescing about a city that he wasn't appreciated in so he took off towards Cloudsdale.

Fears - Part 1
-
The days are quickly turning... through the mist and the fog... the ponies are stirring... in fear and in loss...
The worst things in life aren't as shallow... Look towards the sun and happiness will follow...
My fears are yours and yours to mine, but my fear isn't yours but it is but mine.
-

Bang, Bang went the smacking of Motion Reflux hitting his forehead against a wooden surface. He couldn't sleep this night, nightmares have begun to plague his mind everyday since after the first day he moved into Swiftshocks mansion. Swiftshock was snuggling close against him in the bedsheets as they laid in the same royal-sized bed together. It was awkward but comforting as well as cute as he felt her hooves wrap around his body in a warm embrace as she was sleeping.

She was a present example of reality hidden behind a facade, he looked at her and smiled. Even though Swiftshock was valiantly insane, she was also very loving and incredibly kind, always looking out to help others even in her own violent ways.

His heart was beating at a midly quick pace and his cheeks were portruding a slight tint of red, going so far as to be able to sleep next to Swiftshock was one thing he'd never thought he'd get to. In truth he had believed that he'd be sleeping in another room in the mansion.

He pet her mane with a hoof and returned the embrace happily, turning his body to face her. Softly he pressed his forehead against hers, closing his eyes and finally falling asleep and hoping that this night wouldn't portrude any nightmares. He held her closer in fear that his wish wouldn't be fulfilled and that a horrific dream will plague him once more. He managed to finally fall asleep.

The night flew past quickly, the stars falling away and the moon being pulled down as the sun rolled upwards to signify that day has arrived. Motion Reflux had already snuck out of Swiftshocks home and made his way towards the library in the Western District.

As he was flying he took a look over to the Southern Tower, the blurriness of the fog hazing his vision but was still able to see the large cracks that crawled up the tower. He was able to view that there were no outer platform connected to the broken tower, figuring that they either fell off or they had to be taken down.

Just above, a pegasus flying over saw Motion Reflux flying so as a fickle treat he hocked a loogie down towards the speeding blue pegasus. Motion Reflux looked up to see the cruel joke awaiting him but he knew how to avoid this trick from experience in flight camp.

So he sped up his flight, his forelegs locked extended forward and his hindlegs locked in a straight fashion so his body was in the shape of a line. The counter worked as he picked up much speed to dodge the glob of mucus that fell right behind him but now he couldn't slow down since he was so near the Western tower.

"Oh crap!" he shouted as he covered his head with his forelegs, crashing right into the wall of the tower and then falling hard onto the platform of which the library stood on.

He shook his head and got up off his back, his plan today was to see if he could be friends with the patron of the library, he still knew that he had to make friends but at least he doesn't have to send letters every time about friendship like Twilight Sparkle did. He entered the library and close the enormous doors behind him.

The library was always so empty every time he visited, the only pony he could ever see was the brighty mint-cyan unicorn that was already sifting through the books one by one. He approached slowly and spoke, "Hi there!". She continued reading through her books but replied to him, "Welcome to the Skyfell Grand Library, please return any books you take out. How may I help you?" in the most brightly sounding but bored feeling voice.

He stepped forward and hopped over the front desk infront of him, standing on her side, "My name's Motion Reflux, what's yours?" he asks. The books in front of her fell as she released her magic and turned to look at him, her eyes were colored a soft blue and her mane was clean and well-cut. Her glare was awe-inspiring, unlike Swiftshocks and she answered, "My name is Discovery." she stood and he was able to see her cutie mark which was an open book with tendrils of electricity reaching into the center.

Returning his view to her face, "Nice name..." he waved his hoof and smiled, "D'ya want to be friends, Discovery?" she turned away in a spiteful motion and said, "I know that you really think my name is weird and I don't need friends, friends are just pawns in a greater game of an unachievable chess game."

Once more she sat down and her horn sparked, it wasn't a regular shimmer and glow like a regular unicorn's horn as hers was emitting small yellow electrical bolts on itself. It then began to glow and shine the minty-cyan color it should've done so before and she picked back up the fallen books and began to read the first one that was in front of her.

He tilted his head, confused at whatever she had just said and then she spoke once more, "Leave me alone, go read some books around my library here and take them if you want, they're all mine but I let anypony take them." She then picked him up with her magic and levitated him away from her, releasing her grip on him after she positioned him away from herself.

That plan didn't go as he planned so he looked around and then immediately exited the building. He feared that he'd anger Discovery and feared that it would freeze over his chance at making her a friend. "Plan B, leave her alo-" his loud thought was interrupted with an angry Swiftshock tapping her hoof deftly onto the platform.

Uh oh...

"Where have you been?!" she shouted at him, her eyes glowing a sharp red and her sharp vampire-like chompers were visible. She took a heavy step forward, "I'VE BEEN WORRYING ABOUT YOU, YOU SHOULDN'T SNEAK OFF ON ME!" she tackled him and wrapped her hooves around his neck in a hug, "I fear that I'd lose you like I lost Soothing Song..." she teared up.

He pet her mane and whispered an apology into her ear, returning the short embrace and then slipped away, standing back up and giving her a gentle nuzzle on the cheek. Swiftshock stood back up and smiled, flying back to the Northern District a minute afterwards.

-

A shadowy figure isn't the only thing that plagues the mind, but it is the corrupted kindness and horrible thoughts that create it...

Nothing is bitter yet sweet, but everything is sour...

Generosity will only take you so far...

-

He flew straight up to the highest platform that stood ontop of all four towers together. He'd visited it once with Swiftshock who had shown him around some of the actual northern district and he wasn't to explore the rest. One thing he also wanted to do was find where Plusle lived in the southern district.

Twisting his path so that he dodged the edge of the platform, he curved around the top of the edge railing and landed. The first thing he noticed was the many wooden buildings that he saw along the straight path he stood on the edge of and the sight of ponies disgustingly glaring at him. At least is was still a bright sunny day so that was one thing to look up at other than the other ponies.

A unicorn pushed him down with her magic and huffed, stepping over him while he grunted impatiently. Once in awhile he was able to overhear some small talk about some kind of elements and he believed that they somewhat knew what Celestia and Luna did know.

He got back up and began to explore, the path was a simple staight with some short extensions from the sides and ending with a large wall that surrounded the district like the walls he saw when he visited the northern district.

A thought arrived in his head, ponies in the northern district were much brighter and nicer when he looked and in the western district it feels gloomy and lonely. Shrugging it off he guessed it was because he was with Swiftshock and she'd scare anypony into doing what she wants.

Slightly letting out a sigh he quickly flipped and hovered high into the air, he was glad he had no fear of heights and it was natural to not fear heights for a pegasus. He soared back towards the edge of the large four-plate platform that had massive walls blocking each district with large steel gates connecting them and then dove off the edge.

Curling his wings to his sides as he let himself nosedive down the length of the western tower, a metre away from the ground he spread his wings and curved back so his forehooves lightly skid across the grass. Then he slowed down and landed on the ground, blowing a puff of air to push away the front part of his mane that was covering his right eye.

He needed to talk to Snowfall about a question that was rolling in his mind so he trotted towards the main castle in the middle, passing the guards inspection and then entering the main castle's gates to see the Princess laying sideways on the throne on her back who was twidling with her wings.

Snowfall turned her head to see Motion Reflux entering, "Oh Hello Motion! It's been quite lonely here in the castle since you've left." she rolled jokingly off the throne and stood up, fixing her mane, "Is there something you want to talk about?"

He nodded and sat in front of her, "I want to know how you even know Celestia and Luna..." and after he said that her eyes went small and she reared back her head. "Uhm... I guess I'm going to have to answer either way since I know you'll keep asking more and more if I don't."

She sat back on the throne in a proper, more mannerly way and began explaining...

~Flashback~

I was still rather young when they first visited Skyfell, their visit was usually a monthly check up on the town to keep together the fears and plights of worrying Skyfellians.

The sky was as clear as crystal, the grass flush green and the stone masonry-made buildings were abundant. Some buildings were larger and made of wood but most of the homes were made of low-cost cobblestone. Trouble was secretly brewing within the streets where hooded ponies would meet up at random positions in the town and what was seen was either a intensely small chat or an exchange of a concealed item.

Snowfall was laying back on a nearby cloud and brushing off her wings; she was known in the town as the fastest and best flier and she was in charge of managing the clouds in the area. Usually she'd go on a limb and make it snow for the hell of it, but she still had to follow suit with the ideals and plans that the princesses had put out for every town and city in Equestria.

She rolled over on the cloud and stood up, whipping her beautiful sky blue mane to the side and hopped off the cloud. Today was as any regular day when the princesses would come and check on the large town of Skyfell so she had to gather up with everypony else in the centre where the largest open area of the town was.

Quickly soaring to meet up with the crowds of ponies she waved to anypony that waved or greeted her as she flew and then she landed in the front of the crowd. Her ears perked and she listened to some ponies talking about a recent murder of a young earth pony outside the rich families mansion, there was also some talks about fears that the princesses wouldn't listen to their pleas for assistance.

Then she saw Celestia being carried into the front of the crowd in her royal carriage that was being pulled by two royal guard pegasi.

Celestia steps out of her seat and stands magnificently, "Greetings Skyfellians, I have received your requests and I will try to fulfill as many as I can to ease your worries."

Snowfall rolled her eyes and Celestia raised a brow, catching on to Snowfall but she continued to speak, "I will grant you the needed supply of water for the farmers that have been at a drought of it, I will bring a fresh supply of tools so that you can expand and upgrade your town. I will not change the weather schedule I have placed nor will I allow the technilogical advances that have been asked of."

She bowed her head, "You are a far ways from the mainland and I humbly apologize that I will not be able to grant a path or transportation towards it."

Snowfall stepped forward, "Princess Celestia." she bowed and then stood back up, "Where is Princess Luna?"

Celestia turned away, "She's... 'on vacation'... don't you worry little Snowfall, I know you two are great friends with each other but I don't think she'll be back for awhile." she let out a gentle sigh, "I'm sorry that I cannot provide any transportation for you all but I am trying my best to help all of you."

I know what you're going to say and yes, I've lived for over a thousand years now because of the prevailing technology here, giving me a pseudo-immortality that is all too real in some senses.

Celestia got back onto her carriage and was carried off and Snowfall stomped her hoof when she saw that the princess was out of sight, clenching her teeth. The weather schedule was a brutal task in Skyfell this year counting many scattered thunderstorms and a month of heavy winter, even though she loved the winter month she knew that it was a despair to many others.

The crowd broke away back to what each pony was doing before the arrival of the princess, some angry and a lesser portion was happy but most were neutral. She looked back as she was flying away to see the remainder of the crowd being hooded ponies, suspiciously idling in their spots. Shrugging the feeling of slight fear, she continued flying back home.

She lived as every other pony did in Skyfell, in a house on the ground. At least she had the comfort of a warm home made of comforting wood, the poorer ponies needed to live in the cold crude stone homes.

She entered past the door to her home, it was a plain house interior with the regular items that you'd see in a house. The special thing was the specially made cloud bed that she made herself, it was comfortable and cozy and was able to support the weight of any sub-species of pony.

As she made her way into her bedroom she took a check on the weather schedule this month the was pinned to her bedroom door. It was an approaching winter and the schedule shown heavy snowstorms throughout the month.

It made her cringe slightly when looking at it and then she pushed pass the door and into her room, hopping onto the bed and sighing. It was going to be a long month for her and everypony in Skyfell, she twiddled with her wings using her forehooves.

Closing her eyes one thought came through her head, At least it wasn't a rush of thunderstorms...

~End Flashback~

"...and Yes, Luna is one of my distant friends that I've known but we've never communicated since she left all those years ago until now." she finished her lecture, laying back on her throne and curling up her wings around herself like she was hugging herself.

She winked at Motion Reflux and smiled, "If you have anymore questions Motion, go ahead and ask at anytime I'm available."

Motion Reflux rolled his eyes and bowed his head in respect, leaving the castle afterwards to fly back towards Swiftshocks place where he was staying. The whole speech had made time pass by faster than he could've thought so he figured that getting back home is the best plan right now.

Fears - Part 2

The midnight shadows were gruelingly casted upon the streets in the top platform, nopony visibly was able to even sleep except for those in the Northern District. Many were hidden in the darkness, talking to each other or fighting except for the Western District where everypony was hiding in their homes or in any crack that was pheasable.

A common theme within the Western District was the abundance of constant and differenciating fears of many things.

Motion Reflux walked up the tower staircase this night to the top of the western district tower and a sudden headache hit him. He staggered slightly as he walked and suddenly it felt as if his fears were amplified. His tiny fear of water and his extensive fear of darkness were amplified greatly.

The development of his fear of the dark started after he earned reached Cloudsdale when he was younger as his fear of being discovered was the true connection to it. He feared the darkness because he feared those who were looking for him would finally find him.

He knew he couldn't hide so he had to suck it up, slowly walking along the path shivering with fear. Looking around himself he saw some homeless ponies curled up in some boxes or in even darker alleyways.

Now he knew something was wrong; he looked at a glass of water and yelped in shock. He wasn't this scared of water before too, he usually was able to shove away the feeling of fear for it but like the darkness he couldn't.

He fell back, his eyes locked onto the darkness surrounding him and before he knew it he shut his eyes tightly, crying.

Blankness and the feeling of a pony carrying him away was the final things he felt before he ultimately was somehow put to sleep. The one thing he knew was that it was either another pony kindnapping him or it was Swiftshock helping him in her own strange way.

It was probably the latter.

As he woke strapped onto a chair in a dark room he could see the sharp red eyes of a familiar pegasus that was staring him down. She started, "It's not safe to go out alone in the dark, stupid colt." and all he could do was huff in response. Then she threw a punch with her forehoof, keeping her balance on two legs as she barely missed his face and only skidding his fur slightly.

When the deft punch hit a surface the lights immediately switched on showing that he was in the main bedroom. Swiftshock was crying heavily like she too had felt the strong field of fear.

"Don't you ever explore in the dark without me again..." she cringed he teeth as she spoke, rearing back from her punch and falling onto floor landing on her rear.

He struggled slightly but finally freed himself from the straps on the chair as they weren't tightly tied and he rubbed his nose against her cheek to sympathize and apologize, "Alright... I guess there's going to be a lot of rules just to be with you then..." he smiled and wrapped his forelegs around her neck in a soft embrace, "How about you write them up on a sheet of paper and I'll look them over so I know what to follow." and then he let go of her and walked over to the bed, flipping onto it.

She stood and trotted to the other side of the bed, smiling gently as she made her way into the bed and wrapped the sheet around herself. He didn't bother to as he just curled up and fell asleep.

Her blush was sincere and held back as she soon followed suit and fell asleep, there was much more to this blue pegasus she knew and she wanted to learn all about him in her own ways later on.

As quickly as time flew the snow quickly strode in and it began snowing moderately. The sun wasn't glowing too bright in Skyfell this morning because of the snow clouds blocking it.

Motion Reflux woke up first and noticed that Swiftshock was out of the sheets and snuggled up close to him with her wings wrapped around his body like she was protecting him.

He quickly jumped away in slight embarrassment, his cheek slightly red as he stood staring at her. She was still blissfully asleep and as he stared he blushed at her beautiful appearance. Although her eyes gave her a sharp stare of fear to those who saw it, her gentle yellow body had the physique of an angel. He turned away and quickly made his way out the room, his wings flared in what seemed to be silent pleasure.

He creaked a peek through the door to see Swiftshock waking up, she yawned and stretched out her legs; then she immediately looked side to side in surprise. Her head slowly turned towards the door, her hair covering her eyes as only a red glow could be seen past them. A purple negative aura was noticeable around her head.

"Where... is... my...Fluxxy?!" she shouted angrily.

Motion Reflux eeped silently, nosing his way past the door and shivering; his speech stuttered, "H-Hey Swi-Swift!" he faked a smile and she glared at him. She smiled, "There you are, Ninny-colt!".

She called me Fluxxy earlier so why not now?

She rolled out of the bed and jumped towards him, flying politely through the small distance. "I was wondering where you were!~" she giggled cutely like nothing ever happened before. He choked his words, "Y-Yeah! I'm here o-of course!" he nuzzled her cheek and she nuzzled his.

Then she walked around him and through the door and saying, "I'll let you go off to your own thing now, ninny-colt, it's daytime and I also have to write up a list of rules for you~" she turned once she was outside of the room and the other side of the door from him and continued, "But don't think you can do anything funny... I'm always watching."

Finally she walked out of sight and he sighed gently once he knew so. Quickly he made his way out the mansion and went to visit the Southern Districts top platform. He flew up the scale of the northern tower and then hovering over the top platform he made his way into the southern district.

Looking around under him he saw ponies arguing with each other, others bumping into one another like their sight was impacted. If this was the southern district and the western district was fear then what was the eastern district?

He didn't want to find out just yet, right now he surveyed the area. There were two large parks and the houses here were two stories high and made of pearl and wood, there were less houses than the western district but more homes than the northern district. This must've been the moderate wealth part of the city.

He hovered around a bit more and explored the parks, they weren't too shabby nor were they that great but they sufficed. As he explored the park he saw ponies blindly moving around separate from each other, none trying to socialize until the odd ones out come in contact and begin to argue for no reason.

This place wasn't too fun to hang around in so he quickly made his way back to the western district tower and began walking down the stairs, he really didn't feel like flying too much today.

As he reached the floor where the library was, a thought came to his head if he should see if Discovery is willing to speak now or maybe he should just leave her be for awhile more.

He exited out the tower onto the library platform, now standing in front of the grand library. It was now or never.

Entering past the large doors he walked towards Discovery and waited until she noticed. She looked past the side of her book to see the blue stallion waiting there and before she spoke she figured out it was the blue stallion from before.

"What are you doing here?" she murmured annoyingly, simply unamused by his presence as she put down her book and looked at him with a bored face, "Can't you see that I want to be alone?". He gave off a gentle smirk and said, "Maybe I can change your idea of friendship and finally be your friend, Discovery." his muzzle was an inch away from hers. She pushed him away with a forehoof and grudgingly snarled, "I might not have friends but I know you're in a relationship with the toughest character in Skyfell." she picked up her book and began reading once more, "I don't want friends, nor do I even dare step outside."

"I don't need to eat, drink, sleep..." she lectured, "I'm not a real pony."

This confused him greatly and created an immense set of questions in his mind, is it possible for her not to be a pony?, is she a ghost?, is it even possible to create a pony?...

It almost made sense to him as he began putting pieces of the puzzle together, all he was missing was the final piece which could only come from her answer. He knew she wasn't willing to answer the question in his thoughts.

She tilted her book down and glared at him menacingly from behind it, popping the question, "Do you believe in fate?" with a smirk hidden. He answered, "Fate isn't something to truly believe in, I don't completely believe in it but I also do believe in it; but it comes around to the decisions you'd make that generates this energy of fate."

"Bzzt... wrong, Fate is something that you can believe in like everything else in this world, everypony is entitled to their fate that is destined to them as shown by their cutie mark." she tilted her head, her mane flowing magnificently to the side, "But some cutie marks are even deeper than that."

"Huh?" he looked at her with a brow raised, "A deeper meaning to ones fate?". She nodded, putting down the book and resting her magic for once, "It takes incredible thought to even find this in a pony. Take something like The Elements of Harmony, some cutie marks in the six don't even signify the true element itself."

Closing her eyes and taking in a short breath she continued, "Cutie marks aren't your true fate but the answer lies within the deeper meaning of fate within ones cutie mark." she looked at his mark, "Your cutie mark is a wave with a large countering wave that shows a control of water, the small wave being a regular ripple of motion and the large wave being a created wave of motion within water." she squinted her eyes, "But if you really think about what I just said, it's all about motion."

He rolled his eyes, "I guess you do know a lot from reading all of the books in your grand library". She snickered softly, "I already knew everything from the day I was created."

She's lightening up...

She glared at him once more and stated, "Fate and Destiny aren't the same, in fact their ideology is completely separate."

** and ** aren't the same, in fact their ** is completely **?

Stretching his wings he looked over at her as he turned, "You know a lot then." she smiled and replied, "Most ponies are controlled by fate but I know the special ones are controlled by destiny. I know those with destiny follow a set future but fate is never in stone."

"I fear the unknown." she finished, turning away and walking deep past the large bookshelves and disappearing from his sight. He thought to himself, The unknown, huh, I guess that's why friendship is so stale to her... but then he dismissed the thought and left the library.

Walking towards the edge of the platform, he leaned against the golden railing; turning his head towards the tower staircase since he didn't want to really fly he noticed a familiar blue figure climbing up. He squinted his eyes to see it was a mare from the figure's shape, it has no wings nor a horn so it was a earth pony, and what finally made him run towards her to greet her was the fact her cutie mark was a shocking bolt with three blue plus signs.

It was Plusle!

He jumped a short distance and skid the rest, that sliding making a noise loud enough to get her attention. "Oh! Hey Motie!" she smiled and turned to face him, her eyes shut joyfully, "How're ya doing?"

He rolled his eyes and answered, "Doing fine for the most part and also trying to be-friend the keeper of the library." Plusle jumped back in surprise, "Y-You actually were able to speak to her?!" She took a breath and spoke, "Every time I see her I never get a hint of a peep from her..." she sighed sadly but then perked back up, "Maybe I'll tag alone with you the next time you see her! I've known mostly everypony here in Skyfell except her and I'd like to meet her!~"

She giggled cutely with her forehoof covering her mouth slightly. Motion Reflux observed that Plusle was always happy and joyful about everything like that's how she sees the whole world. He looks at her face and finally asks, "Hey, is there any time that I could see your brother? I'd like to meet him first before I try introducing you to the librarian."

Plusle nodded gleefully, "Anytime really!~" she tilted her head cutely, "..I think he should make more friends like I do, so just come visit anytime in the Southern District! We live in a building made of pure stone and wood and it really juts out from the crowd of rough cobbly rock homes around us."

She snuck in a nuzzle against his ear and whispered, "Just remember Motie that when you meet him, try not to do anything rash..."

"He's very mean..." she pulled away and then winked amourously, wiggling her plot in his view as she walked up the western tower staircase and moved out of his sight.

He watched her as she walked up the staircase out of his view and he thought to himself, "She probably could get out Discovery's happier side." he walked into the tower and began descending down the incredible spiral staircase.

Now he walked to the main castle because he figured Snowfall might have some kind of job for him now after the days wait.

He entered through the castle doors and to his surprise he saw Soft Spoken sitting on the throne. It was odd that she was there and funny that she was half the size of the massive throne. Motion Reflux waved to her and she tilted her head and smiled, motioning with a forehoof to come to her.

He did so and bowed, "How're you doing Soft Spoken?" he asked. She bowed her head and closed her eyes, "I'm just watching over Skyfell today because my aunt says she has some important business in Equestria."

She raised her head quickly and opened her eyes to beautifully look at Motion Reflux, squeeing slightly, "Hey Motion Reflux, maybe you could be my personal guard for the rest of the day. That might suffice for whatever my auntie Snowfall would give you as a job."

Soft Spoken nodded to herself and smiled, her thoughts to herself were private yet lustful. Hopping off the throne she walked passed him, "Come on, let's go walk around the southern district park for awhile." she winked as she trotted past him, her magnificent long mane flowing magically and beautifully.

His blush was faint as his wing was caressed by her smooth hair, tickling his sensitive limb gently; then he turned and followed behind her, sighing for what could be in for him in the coming moments. They both exited the main castle and Soft Spoken waved her hoof to the guards telling them in secret that there's no need to follow.

The two guards looked at each other and then one of them just shrugged and they both continued their job of holding guard at the main castle doors.

As if it was enough to worry about not knowing how to protect somepony, it was worrying when as if on queue the sky fell dim and dark, no pony was in sight around the park they had entered in the ground level of the Southern District.

Soft Spoken looked over at the blue pegasus behind her and smirked, her eye gleamed slightly in the moonlight as she turned and faced him. The fog lowered as if ordered by a ponies magic and then she slowly moved closer to him.

He winced and reared his head backwards as her muzzle tried to get close to his and he knew that something wasn't right...

She's trying to make a move...

Her efforts were worthwhile as her lips came in close contact to his but to his surprise she took a step back. Her ears perked up as if she heard a sound that he couldn't. Out of nowhere, Swiftshock stepped past the shadows with her eyes glowing an intense red ember. From her eyes emitted a red, slightly transparent, wispy and glowing flames which curved upwards flowing all the way past the dark fog.

"Don't you dare get near my Fluxxy..." she scowled at her, Soft Spoken replied in a declaring voice, "Your Fluxxy? My, My, Swiftshock... you're in love with him?" she smiled.

Swiftshock store at her angrily, a small common rosefinch hovering into sight beside her as she pointed at Soft Spoken and let out the words... "死ぬでしょう..."

After she said that, the small rosefinch burst into flames and transformed into a magnificent flaming phoenix, it's eyes as red as Swiftshock's and began to fly at high speeds, it's sharp break pointed at Soft Spoken...

Nuclear

Let me tell you a story...

A story of creation, of science, of destruction.

Where the rules of reality are broken,

Where the supernatural doesn't exist,

But where the energy is condensed into a new idea,

An idea that was formed into a living being,

A living being that was discovered to become a pony,

A pony that was formed into a unicorn,

A unicorn that had more power than the sun princess,

A power that was...

Nuclear...

The Skyfell Laboratories were set in high alert, their sirens calling and their speakers bawling. The scientists crowded into the main foyer of the building, talking to each other as if there wasn't anything to worry about. It was a regular emergency drill that was issued once a month and was most of the ponies who worked here were already used to it.

As the alert was called down and everything began to calm, the scientist ponies began their walking to their assorted labratories they work in. In laboratory Alpha Three they have begun their first test of a device that creates object from pure magical aura energy.

There were seven scientists on this project and they've been working without sleep for countless days trying to perfect this technology. Shimmer was the leading scientist in the lab and her colleagues took position their respective control panels in the room.

"Set the device on fruits and have it create an apple for it's first run, that should be easy enough." she shouted the command past the noises of running machinery.

The scientist pony behind the switches that decided what they were creating had nodded, twisting the round switch that was located near the edge of the panel and setting it to fruits, flipping a lever back from a down position to an upward one as setting it to small and inputting the words from a keyboard using her magic and spelling out 'apple'.

Shimmer called out to the two scientists by the forming chamber, "Activate the power, hold for two minutes then..." she turned towards the three that held position at the panels near two large poles that have a massive electrical bolt intertwined between them and said, "Transfer the energy through the machines."

The scientists did as told by activating the power and holding it steady for two minutes. The energy from the two poles emitting a magical aura and condensing the large bolt from between them into a small electrical sphere.

After the two minutes one of the scientists moved over to a large button that was positioned on the wall and pressed it down. The button relayed a signal to the ball of electricity which magically moved it through the upper pole and through the machinery in the back. The machines roared loudly and screeched widly and then the ball appeared in the large former chamber.

The two scientists began inputting commands on their keyboards from the panels with their magic, causing the ball of pure electricity to stretch and morph slowly in the chamber. Piece by piece in small parts it slowly began to form into a red glistening apple and once it was finished it floated within the forming chamber waiting to be taken.

Shimmer turned over to the doorway behind herself and motioned with her hoof to bring in a test subject. A dark silver earth pony walked into the room, his eyes were a beautious gold and his cutie mark was briefly hidden behind his curled wings.

She glared at him and said, "Welcome test subject, you've been called here to eat this scientifically created apple." she pointed at the forming chamber, "Go ahead and take it, then take a bite and tell us how it tastes."

He nodded with closed eyes and returned his opened view to the apple, walking up to the forming chamber and reaching past it's gooey forcefield to take the apple in his forehoof. He didn't hesitate a bit as he took a swift bite, devouring half of the apple in one swing. The test subject smiled and swallowed it, nodding and then turning to Shimmer to say, "It's great."

Shimmer looked at his unsuspectingly and stated, "If you experience any effects like drowsiness or food poisoning, come and tell us immediately." she let him exit the lab with the apple and watched him eat the final half in one last bite.

Shimmer looked over to her colleagues, "Alright, you all can go for the day, tomorrow we'll run our project through one last stress test and then send it to the high ranking science ponies." and she raised a brow, "Remember... Do not let word of this come out... or severe punishments will be given."

The other scientist ponies shut off the machine and nodded, taking their things from the nearby lockers and leaving for the day. Shimmer took one final inspection of the lab to make sure every single connected machine has no cracks or severed parts.

After a few minutes of inspection she made her way towards the exit door of the lab, flipping a switch to turn off the lights as she exited the laboratory.

During the night there was an intruder and the figure of their body was an easy give away that it was a mare; her face was covered by her black mask and her body was hidden behind her black suit. Her eyes were visible color of a modern cyan. As she snuck her steps were complete silence as if the aura of heaven itself was keeping each step incredibly light. Neither a horn or wings could be seen through the black foggy aura cast over the silhouette.

She made her way to the controls and looked over them for a second, then she walked away from the panel and made her way to the delicate machinery without missing a step in complete darkness. Then she flipped open the two openable panels and saw a computer with a keyboard behind them. It was a console computer that needed specific commands inputted.

Covering a vicinity around her to make sure any guards that walked in wouldn't notice what she was typing in, she began to input commands with due speed.

A similar sized mare walked into the room with the same solid black suit and mask, her body was covered in a slight magical vision disruption field to hide specific parts of herself. Her eyes were as visible as the mare at the console which were an easily visible as a light magenta and she spoke in a regal tone, "Come on sis, we must go... now!"

The cyan-eyed mare looked over and let go of the smokey mist surrounding her, closing the panels back onto the machinery and running towards the light magenta-eyed mare that stood slightly taller than her. Both of them nodding in unison they ran out of the laboratory. Even though it was protected by high security, their silent steps and high magical auras kept them in the cover of true darkness.

It felt as if the day was delayed by a few moments but that didn't deter many ponies...

Many years passed with true smoothness and the continual tests have led the scientific creation machine to move forward in upgrades and fixes. The time had almost arrived and the same seven scientists have been waiting for this moment for the years they've worked on this project. Shimmer looked over at her aquaintances one-last time and ordered, "Let us begin the procedure..."

Already by this time, Skyfell had been separated from Equestria and became their own independent nation. The construction of four large towers that were set in the directions of north, south, east, and west had begun.

The other scientists got into position by their respective controls and machines. "Set it to form what we have been waiting for this long time..." Shimmer took a slow breath, "Set the device to create a living pony."

The switch was twisted to its limit by one of the scientists, the arrow on it pointing at the words 'PONY' and the lever was already set in the position of 'LARGE' for a large scale creation. They knew that it was going to use much of the energy in Skyfell but it was a risk they were willing to take up. The scientist that had flipped the first controls went to their keyboard and inputted the selection of words...

GEN "MARE"; SET "FOAL"; SUB "UNICORN"

Shimmer nodded after viewing the words that appeared on a screen in front of herself and then ordered, "Activate power to the machines and hold for ten minutes on full transfer."

The three ponies near the two energy transmutation electrical poles nodded in unison and began to input their respective codes into their panels and flipping levers and pressing buttons when needed. The machines in the background began to roar incredibly loudly which shook the ground that they stood on massively. The two energy poles began to hold their positions as three large electrical bolts transferred between the two.

Holding the power for ten minutes the bolts slowly began to compress into a large yet unstable ball of pure electricity. After the minutes passed one of the scientists quickly pressed the button as the room was going to overheat if the energy ball overstayed its welcome.

The ball of pure electricity was transferred by a relay through the upper pole and began to move through the loud machinery.

BZZT went off one of the machines silently.

The sphere of energy appeared in the chamber and it was strangely tinted a different color that was unnoticeable by the naked eye. The two scientists by the chamber began to enter their respective commands that relayed into the chamber. The ball began to stretch and morph into the shape of a pony and then piece by piece spots of fur began to form around it.

The first to be completed was the ponys face, its eyes closed and its unicorn horn appearing shortly from its forehead afterwards. Then it began to form the body underneath the spots of fur that were appearing and finally the mane and tail were last.

Colour began to settle in and visibly it was a mare as inputted, then it slowly began to morph with a combination of magic and science into a small foal from its large size as if it was recently born. They saw that her fur was a bright cyan and her mane was a slightly tinged darker cyan.

Shimmer walked in and picked her up after the machines were shut off; she then looked over to her buddies and said, "Let no pony know about what happened here today..." she glared at each of them, "We will name her 'Discovery' but none of us will reveal the crimes against nature we have pulled."

Then she turned away from them, holding Discovery as she said, "We already have caused a worse enough rift of space with our smaller tests, the fact that we've done this in secret is a crime punishable by death..."

The scientists all walked out together from the abandoned, vine-covered laboratory; Shimmer in her old-state carrying the seemingly newborn unicorn foal on her back...

Continually the years passed without haste, the building of the four large towers with their portruding platforms were completed along with the top platform. Everypony began to move from their homes on the ground to the top, the richer families gaining the separate platforms scattered around the towers.

The towers had many swirling bridges connecting from one to another so that nopony had to go back to the ground level unless a needed talk to the princess was established.

Like an old memory that had been forgotten, the old laboratory was buried under inches of snow and Discovery grew up slowly with Shimmer taking care of her throughout her lifespan. Their test was a success as the lifespan of this created figure felt the same as a regular unicorn.

Already know was that unicorns had a slightly longer span of life than pegasi or earth ponies and Shimmer was already nearing her final days on this world. With the help of some old friends, she and Discovery built the grand library of Skyfell from the ground up on their platform, slowly filling it with books that had been archived in the older library from the ground as well as including books from the abandoned laboratory.

Shimmer brushed her hoof against her ' daughter's ' mane, Discovery was always one to be immersed in her books and her talented ability in magic was astounding. Her cutie mark already had appeared when she first began using her magic. Shimmer told her, "It is time for me to bury the hatchet, Discovery..."

There was one thing that Shimmer knew and it was that her last glint of life could not be left seen on this plain of reality anymore, her body had to be removed or else the new skyfell scientists would access the secrets in her mind with their new technology.

She took in a slow breath and asked, "I ask for one final favor..." she never really asked favors from Discovery but this was important. "Kill me..." she sighed like she just let out a heavy weight. Discovery dropped her books immediately, her magic dissapating and her pupils shrunken in surprise.

"K-Kill you...?" she repeated in the phrase of a question.

"Yes..." she answered.

"I-I can't...!" she protested.

"You can..." she calmly responded.

Discovery clenched her teeth as her pseudo-mother just asked her to do a horrible thing. Her eyes shut tightly with her head bowed down as tears began to slowly flow down her brisk cheeks. "B-But..."

"No ifs, ands, or buts, Discovery; I thought I taught you this before... Just fulfill this for me and my soul will rest in happy peace." Shimmer wrapped her forelegs around her creation in a motherly embrace and continued, "I know of your potential and one thing I know is..."

"...you can't disobey a direct order..."
BZZT... silently went off a jolt in Discovery's mind.

"NO!" she shouted and stamped her forehoof in forceful protest, her invisible thoughts ever-twindling around herself like a protective barrier from her so-called mother.

Shimmer gasped weakly and knew that something was wrong, even though she never tried giving Discovery a direct order before this was still hard-wired into her programming before she was created...

Not unless...

Discovery grinded her teeth angrily as she began to hover three metres above the floor, her eyes glowing an intense yellow as she spoke slowly, "You are not my mother... are you...?"

Shimmer answered the question immediately and quickly, "I'm not."

Discovery asked hastily, "Then who... who am I?!"

Shimmer once again answered, "'Our creation'"

Discovery shouted, "Are you saying that..."

Shimmer quickly intercepted her sentence, "You're not real nor were you born."

Discovery roared, "NOT... REAL?!"

Shimmer closed her eyes and bowed her head, waiting for what was to soon come.

Discovery held tightly the sides of her own head and screamed in confusion and pain. She wasn't real? She wasn't born? She was just some complex creation?

Question after question began to flood her thoughts and she began to overload, a bright electrical aura forming around her and growing in size and brightness slowly as every question formed within herself.

What is real? What is fake? Was my life just a test? Was it all just one lie? Could this all be a joke?

She screamed louder and louder, twisting and rotating as her power grew to stronger proportions.

Am I really fake? Was I really created in a machine? Did Shimmer really care? Did anypony else know? Did anypony care?

One final, loud, innocent scream filled the room as her power reached its peak; the electrical aura blasting out with the force of an unstoppable hurricane that could tear any living being into nothingness.

Her nuclear power immediately destroyed Shimmer and left no trace of her body nor any stains of blood or organs. It was like she had just dissappeared from this reality.

A few minutes later Discovery opened her eyes, she was laying on the floor of the grand library where she lived with Shimmer and when she looked over to where her pseudo-mother was there was nothing but a scorch mark on the floor where Shimmer once stood.

It all felt like a nightmare... but why couldn't it have been one instead...

Discovery slowly picked herself up off the floor, nothing else was damaged except for the fact that there were books laying scattered everywhere along the floor and it seemed that the only thing missing was Shimmer.

"Where did she go..." she asked herself aloud and hoped that her fake mom would appear from behind one of the shelves.

It never happened.

Discovery weakly searched around, tears slowly running across her cheeks once more as she finally reached the conclusion that her 'mother' wasn't coming back anytime soon.

She fell onto the floor and curled up; she never had any friends to see nor any other family to find...

She was alone...

alone...

True Power

Generosity can only go so far, but the hidden facade of self-hate must come to fruition at some point...
_____________

Swiftshock store at her angrily, a small common rosefinch hovering into sight beside her as she pointed at Soft Spoken and let out the words... "死ぬでしょう..."

After she said that, the small rosefinch burst into flames and transformed into a magnificent flaming phoenix, it's eyes as red as Swiftshock's and began to fly at high speeds, it's sharp break pointed at Soft Spoken.

Soft Spoken smirked and stood her ground and before the suicide-phoenix could contact her, Motion Reflux jumped in front of it and shouted, "NO!" and then took the whole blunt of the attack.

He shouted in immense pain as his chest began to burn intensely. The fiery bird was gone and he did his job that the princess's niece assigned to him. He began breathing heavily and fluttered his wings in a panic.

Swiftshock's eyes flew open and one of her forehooves covered her mouth as she gasped in horror, stuttering, "F-Fluxxy...?"

Motion Reflux didn't respond as his eyes closed shut, his breaths coming to a halt soon after.

Soft Spoken walked off past the surrounding fog as Swiftshock rushed to her fallen love. She hugged him tightly and shook him slightly, "Wake up please! J-Just wake up!" her teeth were clenched tightly and there wasn't much she could do because she wasn't a unicorn.

Swiftshock looked around in an innocent yet helpless panic, searching for anypony that could help Motion Reflux. She knew that the phoenixes that she sends at others can almost kill them if it hits them in the right place.

Suddenly from behind the incredibly damp fog a spark of electricity emancipated from behind it and its gentle bolt striking at the spot where Motion Reflux was harmed.

It didn't seem to do anything and it was barely large or loud enough to be noticed before it dissappeared and the silhouette from behind the cloudy wall walked away.

Swiftshock picked her lover up onto her back and wiped away some of her tears. Flapping her wings she tore breaks in the sky which carried her up and away, normally she wouldn't be strong enough to carry a heavy stallion like Motion Reflux but she was determined to get him home.

Now she felt extremely guilty for what she did.

-A Week Later...-

Swiftshock paced back and forth in the bedroom, her body shaking in fear of the loss of her special somepony. Her eyes weren't glowing as red as before; instead they were quite tame and more rose than solid red.

She trotted up to his slightly immobile form and checked him from bottom to top, she knew she was responsible so throughout the week she bathed him and 'force-fed' him; finally resting him on the bed afterwards and continuing the cycle.

She rested her cheek on his chest and rubbed up gently against it, she couldn't believe anything bad happened to him.

Swiftshock sat with her cheek rested against his chest for a good minute; then she felt a beat. Her eyes flew open as she listened in further and was able to hear and feel Motion Reflux's heart beginning to return to life once more. She hopped back and smiled gleefully.

Motion Reflux took in a good deep breath for the first time in a whole seven days; his muscles felt weak and his wings were aching madly, it felt like he had been in a frozen-state for a year. He opened his eyes slowly and looked over to Swiftshock weakly and asked, "Wha-What happened... Swift...?"

Swiftshock turned and hid her face, giving a long reply, "It's not like I had helped you or anything, Flux... I love you and all but doing that was just plain stupid!" She looked back at him and frowned, "You could've died!"

He scratched his head; his memories were coming back slowly from what had happened during that night. Scratching his head with a hoof he picked himself weakly off the bed and immediately after getting off he fell right onto the floor.

She looked at him and giggled; she then picked him up with her forehooves and placed him back onto the bed. "Don't move around so much, you're still healing, Idiot." she smirked and sat down on the ground beside the bed.

He looked and her and blinked; then he tried to tirelessly flap his wings and surprisingly his two feathery limbs weren't as achy and painful to move.

"Swiftshock... why did you attack?" questioned Motion Reflux as all his memories finally came back at that moment and she replied, "No reason! It's not because I was jealous or anything... your loyal marefriend wouldn't need to be jealous at all!" and then she sneered, "Don't think of my love the wrong way, Ninny-colt."

She ran her hoof across her own wings and continued, "It's not like I'm obsessive about losing the one thing in my life that I hold dear..." she pointed at her wings and smirked, "These puppies!"

Motion Reflux looked at her with big eyes and then she giggled, "Just kidding, Ninny-colt, It's obvious that it's you, idiot!"

Swiftshock exited the room slowly and nudged out a quick response, "If you need anything just call me... if you can." she then winked and closed the door behind her, leaving the bed-ridden pegasus on the bed.

I guess sleep is the best decision for now then... he thought to himself and then shut his eyes so he could let himself drift off into the grasp of the dark.

___________/Dreamstate\

He looked around for a moment, it was seemingly like he was back in Ponyville but the aura field felt much different. Motion Reflux took a walk around the night's path with his wings flared and spread apart in anticipation. The aura of him began to fluxuate tremendously as if the source was coming closer and closer.

All of a sudden the flux dissappeared in a swift moment; he sighed and curled his wings back against his sides. "Hey Flux!" a voice came from behind him as he turned around to see Rainbow Dash.

Then in one quick movement she pressed her lips against his with her eyes closed and a smirk showing from behind. She pulled back and he replied in shock, "D-Dash..?"

"Come on! You're still staying at my place during your time at Ponyville." she said and motioned with the tilt of her head; then she quickly flew off at the same time another sudden fluxuation of the aura began to grow.

A voice came from slightly past the darkness, "So this is what your dreams are like." and all the could be seen from the distance was a bright cyan colored unicorn. He wondered if that could be Lyra or even...

It wasn't possible to believe because he knew that if it was a dream, both real life and fake wouldn't excuse the fact that Discovery can't access Ponyville nor dreams!

"Oh and it is me, Discovery." she said as she walked into plain view, the dream falling apart immediately into a blank white void and she responded, "Whoops, I guess bringing out my presence kind of breaks the whole state of the dream world." she covered her mouth cutely with her forehoof and looked at him with the same cuteness.

Motion Reflux was dumbfounded because his belief was that only the Princess of the Night, Luna, could access the dreams of ponies so all he could get out was, "H-How in Celestia are you in my dream?!"

Discovery looked at him and giggled soft-like, "Good, so you do know I'm real." she pat him on the head, "You better thank me for before, I saved your life." she laid down on the ground and continued, "It takes a lot of magical prowess to even revive a pony from the brink of death; much more than accessing ones dreams."

She brushed up against his side and smiled, "Seems you had a crush on that rainbow pegasus, didn't you?" her horn began to shimmer and spark as she casted a spell which made her look almost like Rainbow Dash albeit without wings but having a horn.

Her voice wasn't too shabby as well as she spoke to him, "Ya know Flux, I don't think your new marefriend would like to know about this old repressed feelings you have for another pony..." she morphed herself back into her normal look and continued to speak as she circled around him, "...because I know how obsessive she is and how jealous she can get."

He looked at her with a worried look, "You're not going to tell her... are you?"

She responded with a evil grin, "How about take this as a favor for me saving you..." she faced him and continued her response, "...Don't ever talk to me again, or I will tell her; I don't want friends but I do help other ponies when they truly need it." she shut her eyes and began to fade away, "I give a lot to others for as little as a small favor in return..."

The dreamscape began to fill in from a once blank white void back into the image of Ponyville at night again as Discovery finally dissappeared from the dream reality. He took one final look around before it all faded to black as he began to wake up; he wished that it didn't have to end there.

He wanted to believe that it was all fake.

But he knew that it wasn't and he knew that there wasn't an easy way out of this new problem. There was one thing he knew though, and it was that he was completely stubborn and would still drive headstrong to face a problem without thinking first.

This time he needed to figure a way to talk to Discovery but without her spilling the truth to Swiftshock or he could let it happen but find a way to explain to his marefriend that it was only an old truth that couldn't ever come to life anymore which could sooth her anger of which would come towards him if he didn't.

The latter he felt was the better option of the two as his mind drifted away from the dreamstate and back into the true reality.

___________/End Dreamstate\

He woke up from his dampened sleep to see Swiftshock staring at him creepily; he said to her, "H-Hey Swift?" and all she did was tilt her head and smile. Then she replied, "Morning, Fluxxy!" and then with her whole strength she wrapped her hooves around his neck and hugged him incredibly tightly.

Her embrace was so tight it almost choked him back to being unconscious but luckily she let go before that could happen.

Then he rolled off the bed and stood up, his strength finally returned to him just enough that he could keep himself standing. He took a test flight by hovering above the ground only slightly and then landing right back down to not tire himself out or even cramp his wings.

He looked at her, "Uh Swift?" she gave him an amused look and responded, "Yes Fluxxy? What could you possibly want to tell me?" the blade that had still been strapped on to her forehoof extended out from it's sheath. She pressed her nose against his and looked deep into his eyes; inspecting them as she continued, "Not unless somepony has been flirting to another mare behind my back..."

The blade from behind her forehoof brushed it's blunt side against the joint of his left wing and she said, "...so? What do you have to say?"

He hesitated a bit and stood completely still as a statue and finally he stuttered, "T-There's no neh-need to buh-be ha-haste-hasty Swift! I wa-wasn't flirting with an-another mare!"

Swiftshock retracted the blade back into it's sheath and smirked, saying, "グッド" and then pausing for a second before saying, "Good."

She stepped back and gave off a cute giggle.

Her personality always was so sensitive and so swingy and it wasn't something to mess with on a whim. She could easily just kill him now rather than later and he knew that well even though he was still new to Skyfell.

The right thing he thought in his mind to do right now is to consult Princess Snowfall, he wondered if she was even back in the city by now. So he gave Swiftshock a gentle nuzzle and said, "I'm going to go walk around since I need the exercice."

"Alright, Fluxxy... don't over-excert yourself~" she smiled widely with her eyes closed and her head tilted cutely. He rolled his eyes and walked past the doors and through the hall and out the main doors of the mansion.

He gave his wings a little flap and rubbed the left wing with his forehoof, talking to himself, "Don't fail me now, pups."

Then he jumped high into the air and spread his wings apart, flapping them in one swift movement to pick up the air and fly. He kept his pace slow so that he doesn't wear his wings too much but it felt like they could continue on forever as always.

As he reached the end of the platform he dipped his head down and began to dive towards the ground where the main castle of the city stood upon.

Then when he landed in front of the incredible large doors of the castle he looked around; his eyes connected to the eyes of a dark purple unicorn in the distance and from what he was able to see it looked like tears were streaming down her cheeks.

He almost turned to fly towards that pony in the distance but he decided not to and instead he walked past the large doors and into the main hall of the castle.

"Hm?" Snowfall questioned as she turned her head to look at Motion Reflux and she said, "What brings you here, Motion?" she smirked and with the motion of her head she dismissed Soft Spoken who had been talking to her earlier and she left with a smirk.

Snowfall stepped onto the same level as Motion Reflux from her large throne, her tall stature and her strapped on magic device around her body gave her an advantage over him. He gave a soft-hearted smile and asked, "Princess, if I could ask..." he turned so his side faced her and continued, "...is there any way I could tell somepony something without them getting angry at the certain thing that I'm explaining?"

After he finished speaking she gave a small brow raise and said, "Is there something the matter?" and he replied, "It's nothing important."

She gave a gentle snicker and then said, "Well the way one would do it is use a spell on them to calm them, but seeing as you have no magical prowess to access I guess the better way for you is to just take it slow and steady."

Motion Reflux waved lightly and said, "Thanks for the advice, princess." and then he left with Snowfall waving goodbye back towards him as the large doors closed and the view of her hidden away behind them.

He made his way along the path to see the dark purple unicorn again so this time he made his way towards her. As he got closer he could see that she had the figure of somepony like Rainbow Dash who was very athletic but her mane style looked almost like Twilight Sparkle's par the fact that it was much longer.

By the time he closed the distance between the two of them he smiled towards her softly and said, "Hey there."

She looked at him and said in a depressing tone, "Go away, you're weak and unsuited to help me." her sharp canines were visible. He responded by tilting his head and asking, "What makes you think I'm weak?" and she talked back, "Because you have no strength, you make rash decisions, you can't even throw away your stubbornness to think."

Her horn began to glow a misty purple aura as her body began to fade into the void beginning on the bottom; she said to him, "You should just go back to your unrequited lover in Equestria."

How did she know?! he clenched his teeth, he didn't like to hear that more ponies knew which threw him into a fit of rage.

He threw a punch at the purple unicorn and it just phased through her causing him to fall on his stomach as she sighed and said, "Nice hit, dimwit." before dissappating into the mist.

Soft Spoken walked up to him and glared at him with a confused face, "What are you doing, Motion?" She picked him back onto his hooves with her magic and brushed off the dirt from his chin with her forehoof. He looked at her and asked, "Do you know anything about a dark purple unicorn?"

They walked back into the castle and when they got inside she finally answered in a soft tone, "Yes but she is so respected in this community that even royalty cannot speak out her name without permission. Her ancestors are the ones who originally owned this land from its beginnings."

Her tone began to fall darker as she continued to speak, "As herself, she has taken over as the caretaker of this land and thus she keeps watch to make sure everything is in order. She's never had time for friendship because of this and her only hobby is magic and her skill easily surpasses my aunt..."

He continued to listen as they walked, "...she has an incredibly tough outer personality like your marefriend but no pony knows anything deeper than that. The one thing we all know is that we try not to interfere with anything that she does because we all know that she's right ninety-percent of the time; from old records I have looked through she had the greatest intelligence growing up where her Intelligence Quotient was much greater than even mine."

She stopped walking and turned towards him, "So don't try messing around with her unless you want to die and don't even try to kill her because every single pony in this city would come after you."

___________

It was good that he got some new knowledge on a pony that is almost untouchable. The last piece of information he got from Soft Spoken was that only those of equal power could truly socialize with her and he remembered the dark purple unicorn stating that he was weak so he knew that making friends with her wouldn't be the smartest of ideas.

He redirected his attention back towards the problem he has with Discovery and how he could get past her threat. At least it wasn't like the ordeal with an incredible yet underwhelming fight with a ghastly entity. All of his strength returned to him finally and he felt the aura around him move with its return so he hopped into the air and flew back to the mansion.

_/One Brief Hour Later...\_

Motion Reflux walked out of the mansion with slight bruises and cuts but all around he was still fine; he jumped off the edge of the platform and knew that he was ready to face Discovery. Soaring and Dodging past damp colored pegasi and sky bridges he landed on the grand library platform and with the fluxuation of the space around him he knew that Discovery knows he's here.

He walked into the library and saw that Discovery was already waiting for him behind the front desk. They both stood still for a moment and then she made the first move by saying, "I thought I told you to get lost."

"You can't get rid of me that easily." he replied mockingly as he hovered closer to her. Her horn began to glow and spark with magical electricity and which then she held a spell that held tightly against Motion Reflux's neck.

She angrily glared at him, "So I've given you life and you can't even handle a simple favor? You're like the epitome of a horrible friend!"

He grinned, "More like a true friend, Discovery." he said and she threw him into a bookcase. Hard.

He got up and stretched out his wings since the impact made them ache, "You don't even know what friendship is like, so who are you to judge?" he smirked as he stepped closer.

Then she pushed him away with a wave of magical wind but the force only wrapped around him instead of forcing him away as she responded, "Are you calling me lonely? HUH? I have friends!"

"No you don't, you have what you call aquaintances. By just helping somepony doesn't make you two immediate friends because friendship takes time and effort!" he shouted as he advanced towards her more. Her magic began to flow faster as she shot a sharp javelin beam towards Motion Reflux which he only slightly dodged as it scraped against his side painfully and he continued to step forward, slyly pressing the boundaries, "You're weak and not even as strong as I am."

"WEAK?!" she shouted as she forced a repelling field around herself causing the blue pegasus to slide slowly backwards but it wasn't strong enough to stop him from advancing forwards.

Then a yellow pegasus with a bright pink mane walked in past the doors, "So this is that other mare you were talking to in your dream?"

I didn't even tell her it was her...!

Swiftshock easily walked beside Motion Reflux as if the repelling field around Discovery didn't even affect her. Discovery smirked and let go of her magic as she was about to speak but Swiftshock quickly interjected, "I already know, Pseudo-Unicorn, he talks in his sleep so I heard every single thing."

She already knew...?!

Swiftshock turned to her lover and tried to mimick his voice as best she could as she said "You're not going to tell her... are you?" in a dramitic tone.

Discovery was dumbfounded with her mouth gaping open at the fact that her plan had easily fallen apart and she finally said, "Y-You're bluffing!" but Swiftshock responded by saying, "Try me, oh wait..." she covered her lips slightly with a forehoof and giggled, "You can't~"

Motion Reflux then interrupted and said, "Here's an easy explanation, Discovery, I told her the threat and she took it well."

/\_A Hour Before..._/\

Motion Reflux entered the mansion and called out, "Hey Swiftshock are ya here?" and then she appeared past the dining room door with her hair all frazzled and in a mess as she said, "What is it, Ninny-colt?"

"There's something I need to tell you and it might.. uh.. anger you slightly.." he said as he sat down in front of her and she gave off a confused expression. "Nothing you say would anger me, Fluxxy!~" she smiled, her hoof twiching and almost looking like it'd want to make contact with his face with force.

He said, "It's about an o-" she interrupted him, "An old unrequited lover?" she said in an angry tone as her hoof gave a swift punch to his face and made him fall back. There was only slight blood coming out of his nose and mouth but it wasn't too much to worry about.

"H-How?" he stuttered and she positioned herself on top of him and said, "Let's say that you like to speak every single sentence from your dreams whenever you sleep."

He slapped his hoof onto his face in embarrassment as his cheeks glew a slight tinge of red and then he saw that she was weilding a carving knife in her mouth as well as sighting that her eyes were glowing a fiery red.

"...AND WHEN WERE YOU EVER GOING TO TELL ME THIS? FLUXXY?" she shouted in a slightly obscure tone because of the knife she held in her mouth. She began to slice away at him but because it was in her mouth and that they were in an awkward position she missed many of them and only was able to cut him slightly around his body.

A strong swing just missed his neck and he sighed in relief and then in protest he pushed her off with all of his strength and said, "I'd prefer not to get cut, Swift."

They were both in fighting stances but then she dropped the knife and spread her wings; then she dashed towards him with a punch directed at him. He turned so that his side faced the aggressor and he took the blunt of the blow from there, falling onto and sliding across the ground and then hitting the wall on the other end of the foyer of the mansion. He got up and said, "I don't want to hurt you, Swift."

She cried out in anger as she flew towards him again and even faster, this time with her right hindleg stretched out as if she were going to kick him hard. This time he dodged by sidestepping out of the way which got Swiftshock's hindleg to break through the get caught in the wall.

"Calm..." he said to her as she tried to bite him when he got close but before the bite could contact him he stepped back. After a few minutes of heavy breathing and thrashing around trying to free herself her eyes began to dim from their red glow as she finally began to calm down from her hissy fit.

He stuck around loyally until she was sane again and then he helped her out of the wall and said, "So... you 'kay now?"

She nodded as she began to catch her breath; he picked her up on his back and carried her to the bedroom, laying her on the bed and pulling the cover over her before saying, "Get some rest now, I know that little skirmish took a lot out of you."

He kissed her forehead and then left the room. Then he made his way through the foyer and then walked out of the mansion.

/\_A Hour Later..._/\

Motion Reflux let out a small chuckle as he walked up closer to Discovery and said, "Is there anything that you're going to try now?"

Discovery mumbled, "Nuclear Magic..." and then her eyes began to glow as radiant as the sun, her body hovering into the air as she spoke, "I've only done this against my one and only friend..." her mane and tail burst into a bright yellow fire as she continued, "...but now I'm going to use it on you both!"

He recoiled slightly and was about to run but Swiftshock put a leg around him to stop him and she smirked, "Running so soon, Fluxxy?" and then Discovery smiled and said, "You will both die!"

Motion Reflux shouted to Swiftshock, "She's going to kill us Swift! We gotta get out of here!" but she only shook her head and said, "Trust me Ninny-colt."

She stood her ground and he hid behind her; then with a burst of magical fluxuative energies small explosions began forming around Discovery.

The room began to slowly brighten a vivid and blinding white as Discovery roared with anger, her power uncontrollable.

Swiftshock whispered silently to her lover, "It seems she's trying to stop but she can't."

Motion Reflux tilted his head, his forehead covered with sweat from the amount of heat filling into the room. He crouched down and covered his head fearing that today might be his final moment.

Then, with one final ripple in the universal aura Discovery let out a incredibly strong and radioactive blast wave of pure uncontrollable magical energy which engulfed the room as well as every pony within.

An agonizing minute passed without effort as the room slowly dimmed, the lights broken and books scattered with some bookcases fallen onto the floor. Discovery had fallen, her body twiching as she lay helpless on the ground but believing that she had elimated the two pegasi that were there with her.

A yellow pegasus walked over the fallen unicorn, "What a waste, old friend..." the pegasus said as she picked her up onto her back. The blue pegasus stood up from his cowardly position and perked his ear, "We're alive..?" he questioned as he felt around his face and chest with his forehooves while falling back into a sitting position and exclaiming in joy, "We are!"

He looked over to the yellow pegasus, "Hey Swiftshock... How in Celestia's name did we survive?" he asked in a suspicious tone. "I'm not completely sure, Fluxxy, and most of it was just a gut feeling that we'd survive." she responded innocently and smiled.

"A g-gut feeling?!" he shouted, "So you just pressed your luck on this dangerous situation?!" his eye twiched. Swiftshock giggled gently; he looked around her and noticed that she was carrying the almost lifeless unicorn named Discovery.

"So... what's the situation with her?" he walked up and inspected the unconscious pony; she shoved him away lightly and said, "I feel something special within her like I felt for you except slightly less; For her it feels like she could be useful to us as a friend."

A friend... he questioned himself as he had been trying to befriend this hostile unicorn for a few days now to no avail but maybe when she wakes up they could finally talk and altogther they can be friends. He thought to himself that it would be very much a great experience for Discovery because she's never been with or had real friends before.

A redirected movement of the space and aura around them fled right into the body of Discovery and her consciousness returned. It was as if her own cells were living off the mystical auras around them and recycling them into more positive auras.

Being near her felt much more different...

Being near her before felt negative and displeasing...

Being near her now feels joyful and happy...

The unicorn woke up with a gasp and in a startle but she couldn't move her limbs when her mind awoke. "Good Morning, Lonely Missy" Swiftshock mocked her gently while poking the movement-impaired unicorn's sides after dropping her softly onto the ground.

"Ha-Hey! Stop with the poking!" Discovery hissed as she used the final reserves of her magic to push Swiftshock away from herself and shouted, "How are you two not dead?!"

Swiftshock rolled her eyes and responded, "Maybe we used some mystical magic!~"

"Uugh... I give up..." said Discovery as she let her head fall back and she continued, "My thoughts about you were wrong, Motion."

She closed her eyes; her body beginning to glisten softly and turn brighter as she told him, "I feel like there is a connection between us... like an old bond of friendship that was locked away from me this whole time... The same goes to your yellow pegasus friend because I have the same feelings of friendship with her as well now..."

The room brightened and a spherical wave engulfed the room; everything slowly picked itself back up from the bookshelves magically moving back upright with the books organizing themselves into their respective shelves without any real magic being used. Discovery smiled for the first time in many years and she opened her eyes and stood up to finally say, "Your thoughts... Motion... the ones of the belief of friendship... I finally see it now and I finally realize that friendship is something that I need. My own thoughts had believed otherwise until this moment and I finally got to release my pent up anger in that one nuclear blast and then let in the flow of happiness back into my life..."

She turned away and looked up, "I finally forgive my mother; my... creator; I finally can let old tales rest and think clearly without the haze of deceit from my cracked memories." she told them. Then she quickly turned back around and jumped towards Motion Reflux, wrapping her hooves around his neck and giving him a big hug, tears happily rolling down her cheeks and caressing her face with a loving touch.

He returned the embrace and smiled; Swiftshock joined in a minute afterwards by awkwardly wrapping her hooves around the both of them, forming a shameless group hug.

Another minute afterwards they finally let go of each other, smiling as they then had a small laugh together. Through one simple release of her old thoughts and memories was Discovery able to let some pony else into her life and finally she could feel happy again after years of loneliness and anti-sociality.

Her loneliness gone...

Her memories forgiven...

She looked towards her new friends and gave them one final smile before letting them leave, after all she had just blasted them with a powerful magic so even if they didn't get harmed there could be side-effects.

Motion Reflux and Swiftshock returned the smile and then left the library, the day coming to a close after a series of misfortunate events escalated into truly fortunate ones.

Confusion
____________

The soft sprinkle of the winter precipitation continually rained down across the land of Skyfell, the Northern and Western Districts feeling much brighter and its citizens more friendlier than before.

Between the two towers was an incredible park with a enormous statue of a unicorn named Shimmer that stood in the center of the area. Engraved was the time she dissappeared from Skyfell and the acts that she's done to improve the independent nation for the greater good.

One phrase stood out from her positive actions, 'Planned and created the towers', which greatly had revealed that it was her exceptional scientific ability and knowledge that created the incredible towers the stood in and held up the city structure.

There was hardly any pony that ever walked on the actual ground level of Skyfell because of the amount of distance from the top to the bottom as well as how they were used to their elevated distance above ground.

"Come on, Motion!" shouted the female unicorn as she forcefully dragged a male pegasus along the pavement with her magic in the park named 'Glisten Park' that stood between the Northern and Western towers. She huffed, "I want to show you something!"

He looked towards her and gave a rough sigh, he hadn't had much sleep ever since figuring out that he talked an incredible amount in his sleep. His eyelids suddenly flew open as he had a sudden realization.

If he had always been talking in his sleep like that... does that mean Rainbow Dash would've heard him when he was living with her for those few months when they were younger...?

He shook his head and told himself that maybe he just began talking in his sleep because of recent events and being homesick. Motion Reflux glared in front of him to see the unicorn who was dragging him; as well as getting a nice view of her behind...

He hid a blush that almost crawled onto his cheeks and gave off a gentle smirk instead. "Alright Alright, Discovery." he calmly said, "Could you just let me go from your tight magical grip first, then I'll follow behind you?"

She gave off a hardy laugh and stopped, looking behind her. "What? Do you not like getting a good look at my nice plot?" she wiggled her behind at his face, "Or is it just uncomfortable for a stallion like yourself to be dragged against your will?" she cocked her head back to look at him, giving off an evil smirk.

He let his head fall in defeat; "Fine, carry me if you have to, Discovery." he snarled lightly and let his muscles loosen up. She smiled at him and returned her vision forward, walking along the path and carrying the strangely light stallion.

Once they had finally reached the destination that the insistent mare was pulling her friend to she finally let him drop onto the ground with a THUMP!

"Ack!" was all he could get out as his face planted against the hard concrete pathing. He took a moment and finally got up, shaking his head left and right and making a strange sound, "Wubububu"

Discovery looked over at him and giggled, covering her lips with her forehoof; then she turned back towards what stood in front of them both, a giant statue of a unicorn mare that stood strong on all four of her legs.

She hesitated a bit but finally said to her friend, "This is my 'mother'..."

"Your mother..?" he repeated back to her in a phrase of a question.

"...yeah, She was an incredibly bright unicorn in Skyfell during her time, she planned and helped create these magnificent towers that stand here now." she said to him.

A tear ran down her cheek and she turned towards Motion Reflux, quickly wrapping her forehooves around his neck and hugging him tightly, her face buried into his neck as she began to cry.

"I miss her..." she murmured gently.

Her eyes began to glow gently yet unnoticeably, her horn emitting electrical pulses and glowing as she finished her phrase, "...so much."

Positive
____

It had been a month that already passed by without effort in Skyfell. The North and West towers were glistening brighter than the sky-bridges and the other two towers in the city for some odd reason. Even the inhabitants of the two shining towers are acting more... happier... more lively...

They are acting much nicer!

But it was strange because the other two corners of the city and those who walked along the sky-bridges were still in a state of conflict and rivalry and no pony still knows why this is. Those who live in the East and South districts aren't as joyful as some pony like Pinkie Pie, they were downright depressive, angry, or even just plain rude.

Motion Reflux walked along the bridge towards the Southern District of Skyfell, passing a series of unconscious ponies along the way. He really didn't notice the lack of disrespect towards him anymore because he's gotten so used to it, but he wasn't used to the fact that some ponies are actually warming up to him now...

=Flashback=

"Come on Flux!" the persistent yellow mare pulled at his foreleg and dragged him with her enhanced strength, managing easily to tug him into the sky in the area of the Northern District as she shouted, "There's something we need to talk about!"

"Why can't we talk here?" he asked as he centered his weight downward, making it harder for her to lift him. "This is a special place that I just remembered about moments ago! It's a place old friends of mine used to hang out and I want to show you it and talk to you about something else I remembered there!" she tugged harder, "Come ooon!"

He gave out a soft sigh and finally stopped resisted her efforts, letting her carry him awkwardly by the foreleg into the sky. Something was different as he looked around, it was much brighter than before. Much more beautiful. He looked up to the top of the tower and saw something he'd never seen before, a miniature tower with a platform on top.

Was that where he was being carried to? He wondered and pondered but got no answer, so instead he late fate decide if that would happen.

So it did and as they landed on the smaller platform he got a hold of standing once more to finally look around. The sights weren't much but easily the things he could spot was a staircase on the end of one side, railing the surrounded the platform, and a table with seven chairs sitting tucked into it.

He looked over and something odd stuck out to him; all the other chairs were clean and kept except for one last chair sitting by itself, it was webbed and dark colored.

It felt ominous like somepony he had just recently met.

The sound of a blade being extended was heard and he turned around to see Swiftshock holding out her weapon to the sky. "We have company." she said as a fiery hawk dove down at them.

"W-What is that?!" he jumped backwards in shock, not knowing what to do in a moment like this. "That's a rare fire demigod, Deceit!" she shouted as she took a step back in preparation for a counter-attack, her eyes glued onto her target.

"A Demigod?!" Motion Reflux shouted as he dove beside Swiftshock, rearing himself for a battle.

"Pesky Ponies..." a humble yet deep voice spoke. The flaming hawk, Deceit, landed onto the table after slowing down what seemed to be an impossible speed to break from. "You must be Motion Reflux." the hawk looked at him, "Allow me to introduce myself properly, My name is Deceit and I'm here to speak to you."

He turned his head slightly and looked at Swiftshock, "But not you."

She gave a huff, nodded and then flew off the side of the platform to shout, "Come see me at the mansion when you're done, Ninny-colt."

Motion Reflux turned his attention towards the burning demigod in front of him. "So you're what all this fuss is about?" the hawk looked at him. "You look so weak, so hopeless, yet even in your soul I see torn scars and brittle hope. But I do see a painful and unbreakable loyalty." the demigod spread his wings, "So truly you are the element to saving this land from itself, you've brought back two others already and are getting so close to the end."

The blue pegasus nodded and then said, "If I may ask, why is your name Deceit?"

The hawk looked away and closed his eyes. "It's a long story, are you sure you want to hear it?"

Motion Reflux gave a small nod and sat down in a sky blue chair, tucking himself snug against the table. "Let's see... let's start at part of the beginning then..." the hawk thought out a moment and then bluntly stated, "I am the creation of cracks between friendships."

"I can see past a ponys soul and into their weaknesses, what makes them tick or what really pains them. The master of betrayal and the master at deceiving. I know that telling you these first few points could make you not to believe what I was saying earlier and I understand, I've grasped my way out of the darkness because of friendship and I learned not to be so dark, even though my name continues to stay I use my abilities to help close a scar..." the demigod hawk explained.

The bird looked at the pegasus and said, "I am the embodiment of kindness in its darkest form, cruelty; I was born after the events of Discord's return and created as a form that holds a great burden for the good a ponykind."

The blue stallion looked down, his hair covering most of his face as he kept on listening.

"There are five more like me, five others that were created the same way but they are formed differently. We have seen what holds the future and have sought a battle that cannot be avoided."

"I, deceit, am the hawk."
"Self, is the dragon."
"False, is the owl."
"Feint, is the lion."
"Tear, is the fox."
"Memory, is the shadow."

"You will meet us all in due time, but I think for now you should go and seek out your friend. I think she's waiting for you in that place she calls a mansion, probably with anger and hate held close to her heart from our encounter." the hawk looked over towards the sky, "But I can understand, because I've deceived her kindness, one final thing I can tell you is that the embodiment of her ghostly friend wasn't just because of loss. Magic still cannot be conjured up that easily by a non-unicorn."

"It was because I helped her create him and in return she gave me part of her soul as per contract... The whole story of her 'lost love' is made up but she will always believe it. Once the being was destroyed by you, she gained back that lost part of her searching soul that had raged in a flurry of fluxuation in this district. Each of us stole part of a ponys soul and now I must warn you that the next is going to be a harsh problem to solve. Feint isn't an easily won over demigod amongst us and we know that only he had the strength to take control over parts of two ponies souls." the fiery hawk spread his wings and leapt into the air, shouting, "But since you were able to fix Self and I, you might find us to help you in your time of need. I must tell you now though that only whoever we had contract signed with are the only ones that can summon us, you must find the one out of the six of us that you are able to summon... and you cannot tell anybody about this talk..."

The flaming hawk dove downwards into the sky and dissappeared from sight with only a ripple in space that sealed itself up afterwards being sighted. Motion Reflux took this as his time to return to his marefriend before she began to get testy and violent and so, he backflipped off the platform and flew quickly back to the Northern District mansion.

"Six Elemental Demigods..." he pondered to himself as he flew.

=End Flashback=

"It has to do with something about souls and certain ponies" he thought to himself as he hopped off the edge of the bridge and began soaring back to the mansion in the North District. "She hasn't even told me what she wanted to talk about before..." he remembered.

He landed in front of the doors of the large home that belonged to Swiftshock and a message was posted on it.

Meet me at the Twirling Tower~<3"

This beautious writing could only tell him that it was Swiftshock who had written it so he took the note in his forehoof, spreading his wings and flapping them with much strength in one movement which took him into the skies quickly and efficiently, leading into him soaring to the meeting location.

The sky was clear and the wind brisk as it fled across his cheeks as he flew the distance up the tower speedily.

Once he rounded past the railing on the platform of the tower he saw Swiftshock sitting on a bright yellow chair, leaning back and sipping tea from a teacup. She looked over at him.

"Yo, Ninny-colt!" she shouted and put down the teacup on the table, positioning herself so into a regular seated pony stance instead of some laid back position that some pony in Ponyville did.

"Hey Swift." he replied as he landed; he walked up to the table and sat on the blue seat as an obvious question finally popped into his mind. "Swiftshock... why are there seven seats up here anyways?" he asked, his nose curled back slightly from not asking it sooner.

She recoiled and dipped her head down a bit, after a moment passed she looked back at him and said, "I don't truly remember all the details... but right now we're here so I can tell you something that I do remember now, Ninny-colt."

Swiftshock spread her wings majestically and turned her view, "A few days after remembering and befriending Discovery, I remembered a bit of my past..."

She looked down, her eyes half closed as she spoke, "I remember a fight between close friends... which broke apart what should've been an everlasting bond between intertwined souls."

A tear seeped down her cheek and fell off her chin. "I can't remember anything after that... not even who else other than me was in it and what the reason was for the fight."

She raised a forehoof high and then let it fall hard onto the table with a BANG! "...Something that I've never told anypony... Fluxxy... I've always wanted to run away... A flight from my problems..."

Her wings began to glow a bright luminescent white; Motion Reflux turned his head towards the sky and saw Deceit flying up above, slightly transparent but still visible enough for the naked eye.

"Fluxxy... Ninny-colt... Flux... never leave me like my friends did... promise me... promise me that..." her eyes began to glow an even brighter red, "...or I promise you that your end will come soon... because... because I love you... I love you so much... I can't handle if you ever left me... I won't... I need you..."

She began to shake gently as she began to stand up, it looked like she couldn't even keep her own balance. She spoke quickly, "I've never felt like this before... why now...? It feels like something lost has been returned to me... something that I never knew I could ever gain back..."

Her soul... Deceit is giving back the lost part of her soul... maybe it'll contain the truths that she's forgotten for all those years...

She passed out and Motion Reflux was on the other end of the table so he couldn't possibly reach her in time to catch her as she fell. Deceit the flaming hawk swooped down and caught her head on his back, slowly landing on the ground and shifting his weight so he didn't snap her head by accident.

"Deceit..." Motion Reflux gasped quietly.

The hawk looked at him and with a faint smile, "My job here in this world is finally done... Goodbye Motion Reflux, may we meet again." the fading demigod looked at Swiftshock and whispered, "...and may my new master call me in times of dire need."

The flames dissapated and the hawk disintegrated into ash, the true element now shining brightly past her darkness.

Swiftshock lay there for a minute, passed out on the platform and Motion Reflux waited, hoping she would get up soon.

And so she did.

She opened her eyes and lifted her head to look at her coltfriend, her special somepony, her Fluxxy. "We're going to see a dragon soon, Flux." she stated to him as she stood up slowly, her legs visually weak in this moment.

"A dragon named..." she was interrupted by him as he said, "Self?"

"Yes!" she smiled gladly; "Intelligence aside because I know you don't have much of it, Fluxxy, Let's go see Discovery soon."
