The Beginning Day

"Uh, Twilight, are you OK?" asked Spike as he curiously looked at the pile of books on the purple unicorn's desk. Normally the desk is kept neatly organized. Twilight Sparkle, who was asleep on top of the mess, woke up startled. Her eyes were blood shot, hinting that she'd been up all night. Her mane would give Rarity a stroke in the condition it was in. It was as if her mane was defying gravity

"Yeah Spike, I'm, um, OK," Twilight said, struggling to get up. Next time, Twilight thought to herself,I'll make sure to drink and extra cup of coffee.

"Are you sure?" asked Spike, concerned about his friend's well being. "Do you need me to get you anything? You look awful!"

"Yes Spike, I'm fine. Thanks for checking on me though. How long have I been studying?"

"Uh, I don't know, three days maybe?"

"No wonder I'm such a mess."

"What were you studying for anyway?" asked Spike. Twilight froze. What was she studying for? It had been such a long night that she forgot the reason she was studying. Maybe I have a test next week in pony biology? Or I needed to catch up on some books from when I was sick with the pony pox last week.

"I'm not sure. Maybe I need to eat some breakfast. Hopefully food will jog my memory."

"I could definitely eat something right now,"

"Most of Ponyville's restraunts are closed this early though. We don't have any food to make a meal anyway, let alone a meal for two."

"How about we go to Rarity's? I bet she'll have something for us to eat!" Spike suggested. Even though he knew the beautiful fashionably styled mare was too old for him, it never stopped him from dreaming.

"Did you suggest that because you actually like Rarity's breakfast or because you want to harass her again?" Twilight smirked.

A light purple unicorn unicorn picked herself up off the ground. Her eyes were green and mysterious, and her mane was a light blonde. In her mane was a white headband, which was helping keep stray strands of mane out of her face. Purple smoke covered the area in an eight foot radius. The unicorn shook a little dirt off her messy mane and grinned and pranced around. Her sister, who was laying on the ground covered in dirt and grass, rolled her eyes as she stood herself up too.

"Dear sister, I told you the spell would work!" exclaimed the blonde unicorn. The other
one, who look exactly like her sister except her mane was a light brown and she wasn't wearing a headband, was running her hooves through her mane trying to get out little chunks of dirt.

"Yes, I know. For the record, though, you couldn't have done it without my help." The brown mane unicorn paused for a moment. "Now that we're here, what are we going to do?"

"Well first, we should probably figure out where we are, don't you agree?"

"Well there's a start."

"We have finally succeeded,

In what's gonna help us become!

The greatest unicorns ever,

So listen to me humm,

I can't believe this is happening,

a new world to manipulate around us!

Full of excitement, and innocent ponies!

To control them, we lust!

Now follow me, my dear sister,

and you will understand,

along with me

we'll take the laughter of this land."

"Why hello darling! Finally decided to get that dress I suggested for you, yes?" asked Rarity.

"Actually, we were wondering if you had any breakfast," Twilight explained with an awkward grin. She made it sound as though she only wanted to mooch food off of Rarity.

"Why of course I do! I always cook breakfast every morning. Normally I give the leftovers to Opal, but I'm sure she won't mind if you have them." Rarity didn't seem offended at all.

"Are you sure? What will Opal eat?" Twilight didn't want to take food from her friend's cat, as if the cat wasn't fed enough.

"Opal can eat cat food. Won't you Opal dear?" Rarity cooed at the prissy cat. "Although, Twilight, I didn't expect you to be back from your meeting with the Princesses so soon."

"WHAT? THAT WAS TODAY?" Twilight exclaimed. How could she have forgotten? This meeting was suppose to decide whether or not she'd advance to the next level of her training. There was even going to be a quiz! Without even telling Rarity goodbye, Twilight Sparkle headed out the door and to the train station.

The wrong kind of meeting

Twilight ran across town. What if Spike didn't wake me up? Twilight thought to herself. Imagine how awful that could have been. She was too busy pondering, worrying about what could have happened than to pay attention to where she was going. Before she realized it, she found herself on the ground along with another mare.

"Watch where you're going!" snarled the brown maned mare on the ground. She felt a swift hoof kick her in her rib quickly after she said that.

"Sorry about my sister being in your way," the blonde unicorn apologized. "I'm Amethyst, and this is Ametrine. We're twins." The unicorn's smile was as fake as Rarity's eye lashes.

"Um, I have to go. maybe one day we can meet again!" Twilight stood up.

"Where are you going? Maybe we can accompany you!" Ametrine offered.

"I'm going to Canterlot! I have a meeting with the princesses," Twilight told them. Amethyst's eyes glittered at the sound of 'princesses'. This could be our chance! She thought to herself.

"How about you can come join us for a quick meal? Surely these princesses can wait, can't they?" Ametrine's voice soothed Twilight's worry of whether or not the princesses would be mad.

"Well, I do need to eat something," Twilight said, her stomach growling on cue. "Oh, and my name's Twilight Sparkle, but you can call me Twilight."

"Do you know any good places to eat?" asked Ametrine.

"Well I was going to eat at my friend's house, but Sugarcube Corner is much closer," Twilight told them.

"Do they have anything good to eat?" Amethyst asked Twilight..

"Lots of stuff! They have cakes, cupcakes, muffins, and all sorts of sweet treats!" By the time Twilight finished explaining to them the joys of eating at Sugarcube Corner, they arrived.

"Hey Pinkie! Do you think you can get us some breakfast?" Twilight shouted after walking through the door. The pink Earth Pony bounced over to the group.

"Sure thing Twilight! Why wouldn't I give you breakfast?" Pinkie smiled. She loved showing off her sweet creations to her friends. Who are these ponies with Twilight though? I haven't seen them around Ponyville before. Pinkie wondered to herself.

"Hello? Earth to Pinkie!" Twilight snapped Pinkie Pie out of her wondering.

"Oh! Sorry!" Pinkie apologized as she sat the unicorns down at a table. "Hey Twilight, aren't you suppose to be in Canterlot?"

"Actually, I'm taking a day off with my new friends!" Twilight smiled at the two mares sitting beside her. "The mare with the blonde mane is Amethyst, and the mare with the orange mane is Ametrine."

"Uh, are you sure that's a good idea Twilight? What if Princess Celestia gets mad?" Pinkie was concerned about her friend. Twilight was so perfect, why would she ditch the meeting? Surely there is a good reason!

"I always have perfect attendance, so the princesses won't mind if I miss one day."

"And if they ask, you can just tell them you were sick," Amethyst added. Pinkie frowned. Lying is wrong! Pinkie wanted to say. Why would anyone want to lie? And why would anyone lie to a powerful princess? But she didn't say that. She knew she had to support her friend's decision, even if it was a bad one.

"Now go on, we're trying to eat," Ametrine snapped at Pinkie. Using her levitation, she levitated Pinkie Pie away from the table.

"So Twilight, what is your special talent? You know, your cutie mark?" Amethyst asked.

"My special talent is magic!" Twilight showed them her cutiemark.

"Our special talent is magic too!" Ametrine showed Twilight her cutiemark. On the mare's flank was a yellow star.

"Mine looks exactly like that, too," Amethyst showed Twilight her cutiemark too.

"Wow, we have a lot in common!" Twilight enthused. "If you guys need a place to stay tonight, you can sleep at my place!"

"Wow? Really! That's fantastic!" Amethyst smiled her fake smile again.

"Thank you, Twilight," said Ametrine.
