Looking after the dreams of everypony isn’t always an exciting task, but fortunately, the princess of the night has a cure for that boredom. Unfortunately, though, even the smallest and most innocent secrets can come out to light.

Fewer hours sleeping, and more exhausting lives were turning the task of taking care of the ponies' dreams more and more boring. The number of nightmares had dramatically decreased and the fear of darkness and closet monsters were apparently almost completely extinct in Equestria. All of that was terrible news for Princess Luna who had to take care of everypony’s dreams as her main royal duty.

The boredom was getting unsupportable and the princess of the night didn’t know what she could do. Fortunately, Luna was going to find a new hobby. Something that was going to change her working time and lifestyle forever. It was better if all of that remained secret. But there are some things, that no matter how much you try to hide, there is always somepony, who finds the truth.

This story was highly inspired by a short story created by my good friend Yosh E-O as part of one of his usual comments in my drawing submissions. And of course, this story pretends to add some context to this beautiful drawing that I could create a short time ago.

Warning: Regardless of what could be read in the first chapter, the second chapter contains a lot of heavy references to diapers, diapers usage and omorashi. You shouldn’t read that if you don’t feel comfortable with those things. Thank you.

“Another… night… Another workday.” Princess Luna said while she stretched walking to her bedroom preparing herself for the daily duties of an alicorn princess like her.

“Hello, sis. Everything ready for the night?” Princess Celestia said while she walked across the corridor to take a well-deserved rest after a long day of duties.

“You bet! The moon is raised and let me tell you that tonight’s stars are few of my best ones…” The dark blue alicorn said proudly.

“Great! Dreams realm patrol then?” Celestia asked.

“Dream realm patrol,” Luna affirmed. Soon both sisters said goodnight and left. Princess Luna, had, like every single night, to lay down on her bed while she used her special magic powers to patrol the dreams realm to find dangerous nightmares and help ponies with all their troubles and nighttime fears. After all, that was her main task as the princess of the night and it was pretty important to keep her subjects safe and sound. Sadly, this task was getting more and more boring with time. For some reason ponies were sleeping less, dreaming less and having more boring dreams each night.

“Time to work.” The princess of the night said with low expectations as she put the sleeping mask over her eyes and relaxed on her comfy bed. The magic powers of the alicorn soon transported her into that weird but magnificent world where the dreams could be revised and sometimes controlled for her daily patrol. As always, some fillies and colts needed help with common fears like darkness, monsters, evil teachers, and bullies. Normally, a quick change to the dream solved things pretty fast, as well as a good inspirational conversation, in which Princess Luna, of course, had a lot of practice. That was the daily task list for this alicorn princess, a task list that recently was ending fast.

“Okay, then… five fears to darkness, eight fears to closet monsters and four random nightmare monsters…” Luna said to herself watching carefully the dreams realm. “It seems that everything is under control here.” She added. Luna did a last quick view across the wide scene of the realm and suddenly she returned to her bed with only an eye movement. The most important part of the job was apparently done for another night. Princess Luna then started to walk across the castle corridors in extreme boredom. She looked at the sky to make sure that her beautiful stars and moon were still there. She took a midnight snack in the castle’s kitchen. She talked to one or two royal guards and she even read a couple of books from the library as well as she looked through the telescope to realize… That everypony out there was on the bed as always...

Nights were getting more and more boring with the time and Princess Luna just asked herself what she was going to do. Was she going to sleep less during the daytime to help her sister with her duties? Or maybe she was going to investigate more about magic to improve her alicorn skills? Any option that the princess could think about was simply out of any possibility that she could tolerate. She was the princess of the night after all. She had to find out something related to the sacred part of the day that she guarded, not just being the sidekick of the princess of the day. That'd be humiliating...

Luna thought that if she was going to change her way of working, she had to find out how and soon. She returned to her bedroom and turned on one of those new machines recently installed in the whole castle. Every worker there apparently has one. Those were called computers and were getting pretty popular in recent times. They could help the ponies without magic writing faster and better. It was possible to read books on it without visiting a library. But maybe most important, thanks to the technologies team of the Princess Celestia School for gifted unicorns, it was possible to navigate on a thing called Magic Network of Machines or MNM… Usually just called MagicNet to abbreviate. The same theology that connected the dreams or magic of unicorns from long distances was now able to transmit information through the air. Amazing, huh?

Princess Luna used then her magic to turn on and control the strange device. In the first weeks, it was hard to control, but with the time it was easier than levitating feathers in magic kindergarten. Luna entered in the MagicNet with the hope of finding a good way to make the nighttime job more interesting. At first, she was looking for recent researches about magic. There was a curious study about the effects of changing the horn’s shape in unicorn's magic powers. Suddenly, moving across different sites, she found something completely unexpected in one of the ads.

“Canterlot Legends? What is that?” Luna said to herself surprised when she found that screen with several shiny colors and a detailed description. “Create your own powerful pony and fight with your team against other players in tremendous battles. Completely free!” She read. Luna had heard about this too. Apparently, there was also some kind of games in this MagicNet. Like those arcade machines where you could beat your own score in silly games like jumping across lateral maps or eating small balls in a maze. In other circumstances, the princess of the night would be probably not even close to being interested in this foals' stuff. But the boredom was at an extreme level, there were still three hours before the sunrise, and she had to do something.

“Okay, let’s try out this thing.” She said to herself. Clicking on the start button quickly brought her to another screen where she could create her own pony character. Apparently, she was able to choose the whole appearance of the virtual creature. She wasn’t too creative and simply created a pony as close as possible to herself. Once that the character was completely customized, she was able to choose a class.

“Attack, defense, balanced, tank, health…” Princess Luna said as she tried to find the logic behind those words. She simply chose randomly the defense class and started to play. Her character appeared in the middle of a virtual battlefield and she had to move it and apparently attack other players tapping on them. Even if the game mechanics looked too simple, the screen was somehow full of numbers, bars, statistics and buttons to press. The princess though decided to ignore them and just continued attacking other players.

The low skill level of the newbie princess simply ended in an easy victory for the rival team. With the defeat letters on the screen, Princess Luna felt disappointed by the game, she was about to leave it. But before she could realize, another match loaded, and suddenly she defeated one character and another… And another one more. After five minutes, her team won the match, and before she could even realize that again… She was in another match… That night, without a doubt, the hours passed faster than ever.

The months passed in the Canterlot Castle. The routine was the same as always. Royal duties day and night, more boring during nighttime like the last time… At least, that was what everypony thought…

“Guard… I don’t want to be disturbed tonight. Knock the door three times if my presence is needed. Only if it is completely required please.” Princess Luna said to a near guard before moving to her bedroom. As always, she was about to take care of her duties on the dream’s realm, but that wasn’t her more desired activity of the night. She revised all the dreams as quick as her magic powers allowed herself. Something apparently pretty weird. Months ago, the princess of the night would have wished to have thousands of dangerous nightmares to fight during her duties, but as her banishment to the moon a thousand years ago, things can change.

As soon as she returned to the real world, the sight of the dark blue alicorn changed suddenly. She moved quickly from the bed to make sure that each window or door was closed and nopony was peeking. She then opened the drawer to grab her new and vibrant headset with lights that she bought a few days ago. The princess of the night was now taking this thing of Canterlot Legends seriously and she thought that it deserved the best equipment possible.

Luna turned the computer on preparing everything for another night playing the game. In the last weeks, she had truly converted into an expert. Her character now had an amazing armor and it looked like a really experienced one. The boring nights of work had converted into a great advantage to improve in this game. Almost all the ponies have to work or study, making really hard to spend the quantity of time that Luna could in the last time.

“Guess we are ready.” The princess said to herself as she approached a package of her favorite snack called “Ponytos” to the desk. They now had an extra powerful orange color apparently. It was also a big advantage having magic to eat them, then she wasn’t going to leave her hooves full of that orange powder of the snacks.
The game finally loaded, and a new match was about to begin.

“Okay, so, the other team has three warriors and two tanks. Elemental magic will be our friend this time guys.” Luna said leading her team.

“Understood!” A voice coming from the headset speaker said. The whole Luna team then moved apparently perfectly coordinated to face the rival team on the other side of the map.

“Sugar, protect the left flank. Their highest rank player is walking over there. Don't leave him to pass. Fluffystack, through the middle, their defenses are low.” The princess instructed as a true leader. “I’ll protect the fort in case of intruders. Call me when we have to do the final attack.” She added. The match progressed, the skills and powers were used as a kind of choreography. Each skill point, energy, and special ability was used carefully, and once again, a victory message screen was shown to Luna’s team.

“Yes!” Luna said proud of her team.

“Well done, Night Shadow.” A voice coming from the headset said again. Luna was, of course, using a nickname to play this game. What could the ponies of Equestria think if they knew that the princess of the night was playing videogames late at night? Well, they’ll probably think it is just a filly or colt trying to supplant her, which would be pretty annoying. Night Shadow was after all a great nickname since Luna’s special skill was moving quietly to attack their opponents from the back.

With another victory in the box and a new waiting time on. Luna took a bottle from a mini-fridge next to her desk. It might seem that no, but playing videogames could be an exhausting activity. Especially when it was required a lot of concentration.

“Oh! I almost forget it. Be right back, guys.” Luna said leaving the desk for a moment. The blue-coated pony was looking for a special thing carefully hidden in her closet for being able to continue playing without distractions. Under tons of useless stuff and old clothes, there was a big plastic package with a showy design on it. Looking around making sure that nopony was close, the princess took out one unit from there. A big fluffy doubled piece of a padded and absorbent garment. Why was, the princess of the night, a big adult alicorn going to wear a diaper? It was quite obvious for Luna. Online games do not have pause option and matches could get longer than expected. A really big trouble when nature was calling.

According to Luna’s calculations, a full bladder could reduce the chances of winning by about 40%. At first, Luna thought it was crazy. How was a royal alicorn like her going to wear such an embarrassing garment like a diaper? But after a few nights experiencing it herself, she changed of mind. She ordered the most absorbent diapers that could find online. They were pretty thick and had a curious pink design around it, The curved pink line moved across the whole piece in the center section, and some pink stars filled the rest of the blank space. Luna could barely walk with that fluffy garment between her back legs, but hey! She didn’t need to do so when playing. Besides, it was comfy support for the butt after hours being sitting down.

Taking the necessary actions to wear a diaper like using some powder, the princess of the night was now ready to return back to the game.

“Okay team, we are ready to continue,” Luna exclaimed as she approached back to the computer. The gaming session continued for a couple of hours. Luna’s team was apparently unbeatable. No matter which combination was using the rival, Luna and her online friends apparently always had the proper combination to defeat them. Their game strategies were basically perfect. One after another, the team matches only ended in victories that night, and Luna’s character rank was increasing quickly.

“Night Shadow, you’re almost silver rank!” A pony from the match exclaimed. When Luna looked at her character stats, she realized that he was indeed right. Her awesome defense pony was about to reach the second most important rank in the online game. Something that required a lot of skill and a lot of experience points, but thanks to the stupendous winning streak that Luna was having, she was too close to reach the goal, probably just one more match if she was lucky.

More decided than ever, the princess of the night prepared herself for a new match. Meanwhile, Luna planned the perfect strategy for this critical moment, the possible combinations of characters in the rival team, the stats, the scenery, there wasn’t anything more important at that moment than that. And suddenly…

“Update?! You have to be kidding me!!!” The princess of the night said angrily as she looked at a big message alert in the middle of the screen. Of course, as an online game, new things were introduced, the characters were modified and some bugs were fixed, something that forced the gaming alicorn to wait several minutes until the process was complete. That was usually before starting to play, but never in a critical and important moment like this.

“THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE… WHO COULD HAVE THE STUPID IDEA OF UPDATING A GAME AT 3 A.M. I’M GOING TO FIND HIM AND SEND HIM TO TARTARUS FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE ETERNITIES…” The angry princess screamed and finally, she hit the desk hardly with her hoof. Only after that fit of rage, Luna could breathe again and realize that probably she made a big mistake.

“Luna?” A familiar voice asked close to the bedroom door.

“Dammit…” Luna thought to herself. Celestia never disturbs her at night except in big emergencies, of course. But her thunderous screams clearly worried her. Now she was going to find her in the bedroom, playing videogames late at night, with the desk full of Ponytos leftovers and empty drink bottles, and more important… Wearing a fluffy big diaper…

The princess of the night thought as fast as she could what she could do. Her only reaction was stopping the bedroom’s door with her body while she thought better, just in case that Celestia tried to burst inside.

“Luna? You okay there? Can I go in?” Celestia said once again. Meanwhile, Luna simply tried to think about something to do. She had clearly no time to put everything in its place to show that everything was okay. But just at that moment, something worse came to the mind of the princess when she was forced to look directly to her personal bathroom, just in the middle of her field of view. Shivering for the nerves she couldn’t avoid watching the bathroom sink and later to her legs and the big diaper between them. All the hours spent playing videogames didn’t pass in vain.

Luna then finally could think in the perfect plan. She was going to teleport far away enough in the castle to take the diaper off, throw it in the rubbish and later plan a kind of excuse to Celestia when she returned. With a quick spark, the blue-coated alicorn indeed moved away, but she was surprised how close she was still. She was probably thinking of teleporting to the castle gardens to have enough time to execute her plan, but she only displaced a couple of rooms away from Celestia’s position. Gaming capabilities weren’t the only thing reduced to 40% with a full bladder…

Luna then began to run, she was sure that the sound of her hooves was going to call her sister's attention, but she didn't have any better idea. She had to change the original plan and add to it… sooner or later another phase because of her current body status.

“So… I find a place to take my diaper off, later I go to the bathroom and return to the bedroom… Or… Before…” Luna said hiding in a corridor closet, pretty nervous, shivering, and sweating. “Oh my! … I have to pee… Right now!” She thought to herself worried.

“Luna… What are you doing sis?” Celestia’s voice said again. Luna suddenly began to run once again trying to find a solution to the imperfect plan. Maybe somehow, she would lose Celestia and everything will be magically fixed. She had to try it anyway. What could she lose?

The princess of the night ignored completely where she was going, she simply did her best running with that fluffy garment between her legs as well as her full bladder. Luckily, it seems that she was running across the loneliest part of the building since not a single guard was found in the road.

Crossing a corridor corner and looking behind, Luna thought she had finally lost her sister. She was finally able to take a breath. Luna sighed deeply, but turning to the other side, she found herself rubbing some white fur with her head. She was in front of her big sister.

“Uh… Luna… What’s going on?” Celestia said apparently ignoring still her sister’s fluffy garment. She was just worried because of her attitude.

“Uh…” Luna tried to say something while she felt a big wave of embarrassment across her body. And in less than one second, a big wave of another thing filling her garment with a warm sensation… Unfortunately for the ashamed blue alicorn, the night was completely silent. And the hissing sound coming from her diaper was completely audible in the environment. It was pretty clear that Celestia already realized what was happening because her eyes got completely opened in a surprised expression.

The following minute occurred in the most awkward silence possible while both princesses were completely alone in the corridor, frozen in their positions in the middle of a completely calm night, just with the soft hissing sound. If all of that wasn’t enough. The drink that Luna had been consuming the whole night, turned the liquid inside her diaper in a pretty dark tone, something that changed a lot the white color of the outside part of the diaper. Also ignoring the fact that she really needed that relief, which was making the experience even longer as well as swelling crazily the garment.

“So… Feeling better?” Celestia asked with a completely flat tone when no more hissing sound was audible, and Luna finally moved her body a bit.

“Uh… Huh…” Luna said shyly and completely embarrassed as her face turned into a red tone with her heart beating crazily.

“Okay… I guess… I won’t say anything if you don’t say anything…” Celestia said uncomfortable showing that she had a big plate with a colossal slice of cake behind her with already some big bites. Luna wasn't apparently the only alicorn with a couple of secrets in that castle.

“Deal…” Luna said this time a lot more relaxed.

“Good night sis…” Celestia said moving away as if nothing has happened.

“Good night…” Luna also said now trying to find the way back to her bedroom without calling attention until there.

“Guess that the game is already updated…” She said to herself.
