Going Turbo Part 1

Me and my opponent were neck and neck as we entered the fourth lap. I had my Turdbo Synchron on my field, and my opponent had Black Wing Dragon. "Black Wing Dragon attack." My opponent's dragon released a blast of dark energy.

"I don't think so. I play the trap, Mirror Armor."

A mirror appeared behind my tuner and redirected the blast. The blast wiped out the rest of his life points. I used my speed to jump onto the winners podium. "This duel has gone Turbo!" The crowd cheered my name.

"Turbo! Turbo! Turbo!"

Real Life

Someone was shaking my shoulder. I felt myself come out of my dream as the person called my name. I opened my eyes and was blinded by the light. When I tried to cover my eyes my left arm sent a wave of pain through me. "What happened?"

"We're glad your awake," said a familiar voice.

"Yusei?" The light left my eyes and I saw my friends around me. I felt the track underneath me. "Why am I on the track?"

"Well your opponent tried to run you off the track. You barely escaped when the two of you crashed."

I was able to sit up as Jack and Crow helped me stand. I looked to the right and saw the two duel runners. One looked like a black dragon, which was my opponent's. The other was a blue, Orange, and yellow one, mine. I could see that the cockpit was on fire. "There goes my deck and duel runner."

"At least your safe," said Akiza.

"Yeah." I looked at the card that was hung around my neck. The Crimson Dragon. "At least he didn't get you."

"Now what?" asked Leo.

"Well I need a new deck and runner." I began thinking of the places I traveled over my dueling career, all be it short. Just being out of high school. Then I got an idea. "I know the perfect place. Hope the rest of you are up for a little trip."

------------

Meanwhile, in Canterlot

A lone figure strode the dark streets. He had arrived on the bad part of Canterlot. Rats and trash littered the ground he walked on. "I hope to not stay in this place longer then I have to. I have to find those three energy signatures. They'll be perfect sacrifices for my spirit." He turned a corner and found a waiting limo with three girls about to enter. "Perfect. Now to give them some car trouble."

Adagio and her sisters were entering the limo after a very good performance. "That was one of the best performances yet."

"I just wish we didn't have to be in this part of town," said Aria. The three were about to enter, but the front of the limo began caving in. Oil and gas leaked from the front as the limo was totaled.

"How did that happen?" Sonata backed away.

The cloaked figure walked towards the three. "Hello ladies. I hope my little magic show didn't scare you."

"Who are you?" asked Adagio.

"My name does not matter. I'm here to collect the power my spirit needs to survive needs to survive." He raised his hand as black mist surrounded it. But he didn't get far. A faint rumble was heard and it got louder. "What is that?"

A jet black duel runner appeared in the air. It landed on the limo and took out the cloaked figure. The figure on the runner wore a midnight blue t-shirt, black jeans and black boots. His helmet looked like a raven and covered most of his face. "That should teach you not to mess with others."

"Wait, is that..." began Sonata.

"Night Rider?" finished Adagio.

"Good to see you girls too." Night turned his runner towards the cloaked figure. "Now to deal with you."

"I don't have time for this. I'll deal with you in a duel."

Night smirked. "Then I hope you have a duel runner."

"Don't need one." The cloaked figure began to float on dark mist.

"Well then. Time to duel." Night pressed a button on his duel runner.

"Duel world field spell active." The world around the group gained a purple hue. A jet black duel disk activated on the left side of Night's duel runner.

"Let's duel!"

Night: 4000

Night took off down an alley and the figure followed. "I'll start things off." Night drew his first card. "I summon out Sonic Warrior."

"My move. I draw." The cloaked figure drew his first card. "I summon out my Tuner Shadow."

A cloaked figure appeared on the field. "Really captures my essence, doesn't it?"

"Creepy and weak? Yeah that's you." Night turned a corner.

"I'll show you weak. I tune my Tuner Shadow and Spirit of True Darkness to Synchro summon..." Tuner Shadow turned into three green rings and covered Spirit of True Darkness. The second monster turned into three lights. "Dragon of Dark Destruction." A column of light shot through the rings. When the light broke a new creature appeared. It was larger than any building surrounding them. It had scales of pure darkness and wings to match.

"Now say goodbye to your field." The Dragon released a powerful blast that destroyed Night's field. "Now with your pesky cards gone, my dragon will make you suffer." Another powerful blast hit Night. His body slammed into the sparking controls of his runner. He was barley able to recover before he hit a wall. "I think I'll make you suffer one more round. I end my turn."

'Man, that actually hurt. I better find a way to end this before this turns bad. I could just automatically end the duel.' He looked down see his controls smoking. 'That's not an option. Better end this with my next card.' "I draw." He looked at the new card. 'Red Dragon Archfiend! Jack gave me this card. He said that something about me seemed like he belonged with me. And the others got their own. If this guy's legit, then it's time to bring the others together.' "There's something you should know about me."

"And what is that?"

"I don't believe in the word lose. Now I activate Speed Summon."

"Now I can summon out three monsters. But they won't be staying for long." The three monster turned into three rings and five lights. "Rise from the flames, Red Dragon Archfiend." A strange mark appeared on Night's arm. "This must be what the legendary dragons have to offer. I guess the Signers are back." The information on Red Dragon Archfiend didn't appear on Night's visor. "Is my helmet busted too?"

"No it isn't." Red Dragon appeared next to me. "This battle goes beyond normal dueling. Time to show this dark figure the door." Red Dragon charged up an attack and fired. Dragon of Dark Destruction began to disappear.

"What are you doing to my Dragon?"

"Making sure it can't hurt anyone else. And without its existence, your out of luck." Red Dragon fired another blast travelled out Dragon of Dark Destruction and the cloaked figure disappeared. "He may be gone, but he'll be back. We have to find the other new Signers."

"Right. Let's make sure the girls are ok, and then we can get to work on stopping this new threat." The two took off back to the beginning.

Night Rider was in his garage checking over his fixed duel runner. He sat back and admired his handy work. "I should really open shop. With the new system up, things should work better." He sighed and leaned back. He looked over to one corner, and saw the duel runner covered with a simple cloth. 'Turbo's runner. The last thing he left before going to the big leagues. His last duel didn't end well. Hope he's OK.' Night walked to the front and opened up for the day. There was someone already outside. "Can I help you?"

"Yes. I was wondering if there was a discount for friends?" The stranger removed his hat to reveal himself.

"I thought you would come here Turbo. Well how about free?"

"Works for me?"

Night led Turbo into his shop. "So where are the others?"

"There at a hotel, trying to get a room."

"What do you mean trying?"

"I signed the room under my name, everyone but Crow knows about it."

"I wonder how that's going?"

-----------------

"I'm telling you, the name on the room is Crow!" Crow slammed his hands on the desk.

"I'm sorry sir, but their is no room under that name," said the clerk. Crow sighed and slumped to the floor.

----------------

"I still have your old duel runner." Night pointed to the old duel runner.

"I remember this thing." Turbo removed the cloth. Underneath was an impressive duel runner. It had a multi color design. The front had a golden dragon head on it. "I remember when me and the others built this. We all built it by hand. The girls had the idea for the paint job while I handled the aesthetics."

"Yeah. Those were some good times." Night then had an idea. "What if we go visit the others? You know? A little reunion?"

"Sounds good. But Rainbow will be expecting a duel, and my deck was destroyed in the crash." Turbo' s smile faded.

"Well then we will just build you a new one. But not right now." Night tossed a helmet over to Turbo. "Let's ride."

Turbo smiled again. Both of them hopped onto their duel runners and took off. Turbo looked around the city. "Feels like I never left."

"Yup. This city will never change." The two headed for the far side of town. "First stop, Sweet Apple Acres." The two pulled up, but were very surprised. The sign had been knocked down, and the broken end looked burnt. "What happened here?"

"Let's find out." Turbo parked his duel runner, and walked to the door. When he tried to open it, intelligent budge. "Can you give me a hand?" Night ran over and braced the door. With their combined force, the door opened with one good push. The inside was in shambles. "Looks like somebody came looking for something." A black circle of ash was on the floor. "And they didn't find what they wanted."

"Wait." Night walked over to the circle. "Remember when Yusei told us about the dark signers. He said their pawns made these circles of energy that traps the duelist." Two wings glowed on Night's right arm. "That's a yes."

Turbo's arm had a head on it. "I guess the signs moved on to new people."

"But I thought it took 500 years."

"Someone or something may have accelerated time." The two walked into the kitchen and saw another circle. And it was connected to the first. "This is not good."

"The infinity symbol. You don't think?"

"Our enemies are more powerful then before. Let's go tell the others." Turbo moved to leave but Night didn't. "What is it Night?"

"AJ, Pinkie, Flutters, Dash, and Rarity were all here. They must have all been taken."

"Then let's not waste time. We got to move." The two made to leave, but they saw a figure in the door way.

He wore a black cloak, and had a glowing spider symbol on his arm. "You Signers are not going any where."

"Looks like we found a pawn," said Night.

"You know you can't take us on. It's two Signers against you. Make the right choice."

"I'm just here to deliver these." The figure pulled out five cards. He tossed them over to Turbo. "See ya." The figure made a quick escape.

Turbo looked at the cards. "Rainbow Dragon, Junk Warrior, Master Diamond, Kuribo, and Performapal Uni. The girls' cards."

"So this confirms our worst fears," said Night.

"Then we have no time to lose. Let's gather the others and save our friends." Night nodded, and the two were headed out. They jetted for the only place they knew they could talk in secret, Pinkie's Party Cave."
