The cutie mark map call the mane 6 for an adventure. the map show that they need to go to a dark and mysterious part of the Everfree forest that is home to not only home for many monster but also full a ancient dark magic. They thought that the map ordered them to defeat an evil monster or something like that but when they saw why the map called them there they couldn't believe it... Soon after wards their lives are change forever and Equestria is in a civil war... The mane six is slip up on different side and their loved ones are away from them...
This fic is gonna focus on family, loyalty, morality, love and on heroes. Those are the themes of this fic and just a warning there will be shipping.
And those of you who have read my Soarindash trilogy and came here to looking for more of that... don't worry there is gonna be a lot of Soarindash and a couple of other ships in this fic.

It was one of those perfect summer days. Birds were singing and a warm wind was blowing. Fluttershy was walking through ponyville. She could see the happy faces and expressions of the towns folk.
“Oh it’s a great day and nothing could ruin this.” She said to herself and smiled.
all the sudden She could feel tingles go through her body and she looked at her flank. The cutie mark was blinking. This could only mean one thing… a friendship problem that needed to be solved.
“Well that’s the last one of e’m.” Applejack said and whipped the sweat off her face. She and big mac just got done bucking the apple trees near the eastern edge of the apple farm.
“Yeep.” Her brother said as they were walking back to the farm house. The Applejack noticed the faint glow that came out of her cutie mark.
“Oh shoot! I gotta go. See you later Big mac.” She said and ran off towards Twilights castle.
The Wonderbolts had just finished their training session and Rainbow Dash was walking out of the field that they had practiced at.
“Rainbow Dash!” She heard a yell behind her.
“What’s up Soarin?” She said to the stallion who had ran up to her.
“You were awesome back there… you might be even better than I am.” Soarin said and laughed.
“Please… I’m like twenty percent better than you.” Dash said and laughed.
“Anyways… I was thinking… if you would like to…” Soarin said but then Dash noticed her flank… it was glowing.
“Sorry Soarin… gotta go catch you later.” She said and all the sudden flew off.
“go out with me…” Soarin said to himself while looking at Rainbow Dash who was already far away.
“Making some whipped cream…” Pinkie pie was singing while making some whipped cream in the Sugar cube corner’s kitchen.
“Ohhhh Glowing!” Pinkie said as she noticed her cutie mark. She was looking at it with huge eyes until she said to her pet alligator. “Gumpy could you make the rest of the cream. I have to go to the castle because there is a friendship issue needing to be solved!” She said and dropped her alligator to the cream bowl and started jumping out of the bakery.
“Don’t worry Gumpy I will be back to see you in a couple of chapters!” She yelled and left.
“Sweetie Belle could you hand me that silk.” Rarity asked as she was making a new dress.
“Sure.” Sweetie belle said and handed Rarity some dark blue silk. “Who are you making this dress… it’s so fancy looking.”
“It’s not a dress Sweetie. It’s a cape with a hood and a chest piece.” Rarity said and showed the Dark almost black piece of clothing. “And it is for princess Luna. Could you pack it to one of those boxes and send it to her…” She said and noticed her cutie mark. “Oh no I gotta get going. Twilight needs me. Sweetie I have to go see you later.” Rarity said and sprinted off.
“Sure thing sis.” Sweetie Belle said and put the Luna’s new piece of clothing to a box and walked over to the living room table. She sat down and took out her laptop and put on her pink headset.
“Button! Are you there?” She asked.
“Yeah? You wanna play Minecraft? Sweetie Belle” Button Mash answered back.
“Yeah of course! Rarity just left so we can play all night!” Sweetie said in excitement.
Spike was sitting in Twilight’s chair next to the cutie mark map and looking at the purple pony who was walking around the table while looking nervous.
“Could you just relax Twi… I’m sure they will be here any second now.” Spike said to her as she was walking around the table.
“Oh they should have been here already.” She said in a nervous tone.
“Twilight! We are here!” Applejack said as she ran in with Pinkie pie.
“Good that’s two out of five…” Twilight said but then Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash flew in through the windows.
“And I have arrived too.” Rarity said and walked in.
“Great! Now that everyone is here we can get started.” Twilight said and they sat around the table.
“So where are we going?” Pinkie pie said with excitement.
“I hope somewhere nice.” Fluttershy said quietly.
“We are going to the Everfree forest.” Twilight said and pointed at the cutie mark map.
“Oh that’s not so bad.” Futtershy said in relief.
“More pacific we are going to the Nightmare mountains and to the mountain right here.” Twilight said and pointed at some mountains that were in the middle of the forest.
“oh no.” Futtershy said. “But that’s were Nightmare moon fought the Royal guard and in there she formed the Knights of Night.” She said and was visibly shacking.
“The knights of night? Haha that’s a lame name!” Rainbow Dash laughed and smiled confidently. “Who are they even?”
“The Knights of the night was a group of ponies that were loyal to Nightmare moon. The six of them fought against the royal guard during the battle at the mountain range before Nightmare moon was banished to the moon. Six of them defeated all six hundred stallions who were fighting for Celestia in the royal guard. But after Nightmare moon was banished Celestia herself went and looked for them but she was never able to find them and bring them to justice.” Twilight explained.
“So what? It has been over thousand years since Nightmare Moon was banished and Luna is already back.” Dash said and looked at her friends.
“Yeah. No pony could live for thousand years.” Applejack said.
“And besides they are a not real. It’s just a legend. A story that the Pegasus ponies tell to each other.” Rarity said.
“Yes that is true. There was never any confirmed info about them… but sometimes there is some truth in legends.” Twilight said and looked at the map. “We don’t know that awaits us there… we have to be careful.”
“Yeah sure thing sugar cube. anyways have you got our saddle bags ready?” Applejack asked.
“Yes. Spike got them ready. Everything we might need is ready.” Twilight said.
“Well let’s go then. There is an adventure to be had.” Rainbow Dash said and grapped her saddle bag from the corner of the room.
“Yeah. we better get going before it gets dark. After all it’s the Everfree forest we are going into.” Applejack said and our heroes left ponyville and started to walk towards the Everfree forest.
All six of them were walking through the Everfree forest towards the Nightmare mountains. Sun was slowly setting and night creepet in. Fluttershy was of course scared so she was walking right next to Twilight who was looking at the surrounding forest.
“What are you looking for Twilight?” Fluttershy asked as they were walking.
“I don’t know… I just have this feeling that we are being followed."
“Who would be following us in here?” Rainbow Dash asked and trotted next to them.
“I don’t know that either… just keep your eyes open. we have to go and set up camp at some point too.” Twilight said as sun set below the horizon.
They didn’t see the eyes who were following them in the shadows.
“What do you want to do to them?”
“What we always do. You three know what to do. I’m gonna distract them. If they don’t leave we have to take them to him.”
Then the eyes flew and ran off to the shadows. The six mares didn’t notice them. But after the last bits of the sun light had left the sky and the moon was fully up the path that they were walking came to a cross roads. one of the paths led to the mountains and one to the castle of the two sisters and one that they were walking on went to Ponyville. As they walked closer to the cross roads they could see a young yellow colt standing there. He didn’t look exactly happy or kind. he was missing one of his wings and he had a could stare.
“Umm excuse me. Why are you here during night. You know that little colts like you shouldn’t come to the Everfree forest to play. This is a dangerous place during night.” Twilight said as they walked in front of the colt. He was clearly young but still a bit older and bigger than the cutie mark crusaders.
“Go away.” He muttered angrily.
“What?” Twilight said and looked at her friends.
“Leave now. You shouldn’t be here.” He said with more anger.
“Ok firstly we are adults. Secondly you shouldn’t be here either… even less during night. and thirdly I think that you might have a small anger management problem.” Rainbow Dash said and walked up to him. The colt didn’t move at all. He just looked at her in anger.
“Leave now! you got until three.” He said. “One.”
“Or what are you gonna do?” Dash said and smiled.
“Two.” He said.
“You really think that we are scared of you?” Dash said and laughed.
“Three.” he said and gave her an evil smile. All the sudden Dash heard a noise come from behind her. She turned around and saw her friend had their hoofs tied together and their heads were in sacks.
“What the…” She turned back to face the colt but was caught by surprise as he was standing there with some rope.
“You wanna tie our own hoof together or do I have to do it?” The yellow colt said and smiled.
“You little brat come here.” Dash said angrily and tried to walk over to him but noticed that her hoofs were tied also. “Sweet dreams.” the colt said and put her head in to a bag too. Dash couldn’t see anything but she heard ponies walking and she felt that she was being levitated by someone.
The other girls were too hearing footsteps as they were being levitated. Twilight tried to see out of the bag but it was useless.
After a good half an hour of being levitated and Twilight noticed that the ponies that were levitating them had stopped walking. All the sudden the six of them were dropped to the ground.
“Psst… Twilight. Whats going on?” Applejack said.
“I don’t know… Rarity could you try to levitate this bag out of my head.” Twilight said.
“I would if I could see.” Rarity said.
“No talking!” They heard a young filly’s voice.
They were laying on the ground for couple of minutes in complete silence until they heard couple of ponies walk towards them.
“Look six. I think me and my guys deserve something as a prize… since we are the best.” They heard the yellow colts voice again.
“I would reward you but I think that there is nothing that could satisfy your ego.” a adult stallion’s voice said.
“Come on… look two of them are earth ponies and two of them are pegasai and one unicorn.” The colt said.
“And what’s the sixth one. A griffon?” The stallion said and laughed. “You know you aren’t getting anything from me Goldie.” he said and laughed.
“What about if the sixth one was an alicorn?” He said. Silence fell upon the room. No one said anything for a moment.
“Take the bags off.” The stallion said nervously. All the sudden a lot more footsteps could be herd and the bags were pulled off. They could see over thirty small fillys and cots around them. they could not figure out where they were… it was some kind of cave that was full of crystals and small cottages. They could also see the Slightly older yellow colt standing next to a grey stallion who had a black mane.
“Oh no… this is bad… Golden Dash! do you have any idea what you have done?” The stallion said angrily.
“I defended our home from these invaders who didn’t want to leave.” He said proudly.
“That’s an alicorn!” The stallion said and pointed at Twilight. The six mares were just looking at the small colts and fillys around them.
“So what if she is an alicorn.” Golden Dash said. “She is the one that our mother talked us about! And you went ahead and tied her up and brought her here!” The stallion said. “She could have come here alone or if you just had to bring her here you could have just given her an escort.”
“How was I supposed to know that." The colt said.
“Guess what? I can’t deal with you right now. Just go and secure the cave entrance with the others.” The grey stallion said.
“Okay…” Golden Dash said and left with six other colts.
“I’m terribly sorry about what has happened. Our mother said that you would be coming here but we weren’t expecting you to come so soon.” The grey Pegasus stallion said and continued. “Pleas free them this is not how to treat royal guests.”
“OK. firstly who are you and what the hell is happening?” Twilight said and stood up right after her hoofs were freed by a small unicorn colt.
“Well my name is Night Comet. And this is my family.” He said and kneeled down. All of the little cots and fillys followed after him and kneeled.
“Okay… this is more than weird.” Applejack said to Dash as the watched to scene happen.
”Okay…” Twilight said awkwardly. “What the hell is going on?”
“Didn’t our mother tell you?” Night Comet asked and stood up.
“No. And this is all very weird… Why on Celestia’s name do you a grown up stallion lives in the middle of the Everfree forest in a cave with 30 fillys and colt?” Twilight said in disbelief.
“Don’t worry everything will be explained at the feast we’ll be hosting in our honour Princess Twilight.” Night comet said and the fillys and colts smiled.
“How do you know my name?” Twilight said and wondered.
“I’ll explain during the feast.” Night comet said and looked at Twilight and her friend who had walked next to her.
“How about explain now and forget the feast. I don’t need a party.” Twilight said and raised an eyebrow.
“It will be a small dinner. Tomorrow we will have the real party.” Night Comet said.
“Party?” Pinkie said and smiled.
“Yes. the full moon celebration.” Night comet said. “But please. let me show you around our little settlement.” Night Comet said and started walking away. Six mares soon followed him. They walked to the cave’s mouth. the scenery was great. you could see the whole Everfree forest from there. There was two unicorns and four pagasai sitting on the edge looking down to the forest. One of them was the yellow colt that they had met earlier.
“This is our little hideout. The Nightgale cave.” Night Comet said. “And these here are our look outs. Their job is to keep intruders away. And I believe you already met them.”
“Yes.” Rainbow Dash said and looked at the yellow colt.
“His name is Golden Dash… I’m really sorry about how he acted. He has a short fuse and is a hot head.” Night Comet said and looked at him. Golden Dash walked up to them and looked at them.
“Sorry.” He said quietly.
“What was that?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I’m sorry.” He said.
“What?” Rainbow Dash asked again.
“Screw you!” He yelled at her and gave her an angry look.
“Calm down Goldie.” Rainbow Dash laughed and looked at the young colt.
“Anyways I think we should move on.” Night Comet said and walked back in. Once they were back inside Night comet said.
“Don’t try to get under his skin.”
“Why not?” Rainbow Dash said and Walked next to Night Comet.
“He is the oldest of the young ones… actually he is the oldest after me these days. Did you saw his wing?” Night Comet asked Dash and Her friends.
“Yeah?” They asked.
“When our mother brought him here he was six. He was born blind and lived in an orphanage near Cloudsdale. He lost his wing during the same day as he got his cutie mark.” Night Comet said.
“That’s terrible. But he seems to see really well.” Twilight said.
“Well our mother has given him some vision through her magic but it’s not much. I don’t know how he uses it but it works.” Night comet said as they walked into a small hut.
“This here is our kitchen. And over there is our number one baker and chef. Cookie and Carrot.” Night Comet said and pointed at two beige earth ponies who were making food.
“What’s up?” They said in unison.
“They are twins.” Night Comet said. “What are we having to night?”
“Pasta with green lettuce mix and apple pies for desert.” They said in unison again.
“Great. now let’s keep moving.” Night Comet said and they moved to the next hut.
“This here is our little medical station. usually there is a couple of the young colts here injured but I guess not today.” Night Comet said and looked at the empty medical beds. “Moonlight!”
“Yes?” a yellow unicorn said and walked in from the back room.
“This is Moonlightsong.” Night Comet Said.
“Hi. I’m in charge of the sick bay.” Moonlight said and waved.
“You seem to have everything here.” Twilight said. “Where do you sleep?”
“Over there. In the library we have our beds and since that is the biggest hut we can all sleep there with the books.” Night Comet said and pointed at the large hut.
“Why do you have a library here?” Twilight asked and wondered.
“Well we need a place to study of course.” Night Comet said and laughed. “Anyways follow me. I think its dinner time.”
“But it’s literally middle of night.” Applejack said.
“I’ll explain later.” Night Comet said and walked towards the middle part of the cave. There was a long stone table and the seats were just rocks too. The small Fillys and colts already were taking their seat and food was being brought in. Night Comet sat in the far end of the table and the girls sat down next to him on either sides of the table. Once all the young ones had sat down Night comet Stood up and said.
“We are here to honour our royal guest her highness princess Twilight and the elements of harmony.”
All the young ones clapped their hoofs together and looked at the girls. After that Night comet sat down and they started to eat.
“So I think you owe an explanation now.” Twilight said.
“Yes… we are all ponies that were abandoned when we were little.” Night Comet said.
“Shouldn’t you be in an orphanage then… I mean the little ones not you.” Applejack said.
“We used to be… until our mother came and saved us from there and brought us to here.” Night Comet said. “When I was young and I had just started school me and five of my closest friends from the orphanage were taken by our mother and she brought us here. after some years had passed she brought more abandoned young ones to live with us.” Night Comet told them.
“So where are your five friends now?” Rarity asked.
“Our mother told them what their future was… She can show us the path but we have to walk it ourselves. All six of us are the same age and we used to live here and take care of the little ones but their paths have led them away from here.” Night Comet said as they were eating.
“So do you know where they are now?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“A two of them are flyers in the air force, one of them is a guard in the army, one of them works as a weather pony and one of them betrayed us all.” Night comet said and looked down.
“What do you mean?” Twilight asked realising that this was the friendship issue that they needed to solve.
“Our mother gave us the elements of heroism.” Night Comet started but Rainbow Dash cut him off.
“What! you mean some kind of knock off elements of harmony?”
“Shut up! They are so much more awesome than your stupid elements.” Golden Dash said. He had been sitting quietly next to Rainbow Dash all this time.
“I was talking. so you two shut up.” Night Comet said and looked at them. “The elements of harmony work only against pure evil. The elements of heroism work against everything but… they are… unstable.” Night Comet said trying to find the right words.
“And by that you mean?” Twilight asked.
“Wisdom, Honour, Valor, Bravery, Strength and Fairness. Those are the elements. One day The element of strength decided to steal the rest of the elements. You see the elements of heroism aren’t like the elements of harmony. Elements of harmony are infused to our hearts. Elements of heroism are magical crystals that have ancient magic inside of them. He stole the crystals and now we are without them.” He explained.
“Why do you need them?” Fluttershy asked.
“Well the crystals can make all kinds of spells but mainly they create shield spells. And well Everfree forest is full of evil things. We have survived without them for years but not without a cost. But anyways its really late now. I think we should get to sleep.” Night comet said and looked at the little ponies that were cleaning up and walking towards the library.
“I will talk to you more tomorrow.” He said.
“Ok. I suppose there is enough room there for us too.” Twilight said.
“Yes of course. Second floor your beds are there.” Night Comet said and all the little fillys and colt walked into the library with the mane six for a good night of sleeping.
The next day dawned and the young ones started doing their chores instantly it all seemed like they knew what they had to do. The girls had decided to talk to the young ones today. Twilight had decided to go and talk to Night Comet. He was sitting in the library reading some books.
“Night Comet?” Twilight asked and walked in.
“Your highness.” Night Comet said and put the book down. “Everything all right?”
“Yes. I was hoping if we could talk more about you and your friends.” She said and sat down to the couch that was in the middle of the room. The room itself was small and it was full of books and beds.
“Well what do you want to know?” He asked.
“Your mother how does she know about me and the elements of harmony?” Twilight asked.
“She said that you and her are close friends and that you would someday come here.” Night comet said.
“What about you… Who are you loyal to?” Twilight asked.
“I’m loyal to her majesty Celestia and to my family.” He said.
“What about your little family. are they staying here willingly or are they being forced to stay here?” Twilight asked.
“Everyone can leave whenever they feel like their path is clear. Our mother tell us when the time is right. But you are allowed to leave whenever you want to.” Night Comet told her.
“What about you. why haven’t you left yet.” Twilight shot back.
“Our mother says that my mission here is not yet finished.” He said.
“What are you gonna do after you leave from here?” She asked.
“Well if my cutie mark is right I will be serving her majesty Celestia as an advisor.” He said and showed his cutie mark which was the royal seal of the sun sister. “Where are your friends now.” He asked.
“They went to explore this place.” She said and smiled.
“Oh… I hope they don’t cause too much trouble.” He said.
“I still have one last question.” Twilight said. “The elements of heroism?”
“Yes… as I told you they are just crystals they aren’t like the elements of harmony that are inside of you. the elements of harmony are part of you… they can’t be stolen or corrupted… but the elements of heroism can be corruptive. that’s what happened to him and that’s why he stole them. But he cannot wield them alone. you need six ponies that represent each element to make them work.” he told
“What kind of magic do they use.” Twilight asked “It’s ancient chaos based magic bit like what Discord uses that why the elements usually corrupt their users. We used them only when we had to and still one of us fell. The elements of harmony do not have this problem since the magic in them is not chaos base or alicorn magic… it’s the magic of friendship. something that cannot be corrupted.” He said. “Anyway shall we go and look for your friends?”
“Yeah sure.”
“No the three first books were so much better than these new Daring do books!” Golden Dash said and looked at Rainbow Dash with anger.
“Oh please… those books are so much more boring than the new ones!” She said and looked at him.
“So what. The action in those books was enough and it was awesome.” He said and smiled.
“I guess your right on that one… anyways it doesn’t matter. We both love Daring do and let’s just leave it at that.” Rainbow Dash said and offered her hoof for a hoof bump.
“Yeah… I guess.” He said and gave her a hoof bump. “So what else do you do than read books egg head.” Golden Dash said and teased the older Pegasus.
“Well I’m a wonderbolt and fly in the squad one with Spitfire, Fleetfoot and Soarin.” Rainbow Dash said and smiled.
“cool… I always wanted to fly but I don’t think it’s gonna happen ever again.” He said and looked at his missing wing.
“What happened to your wing?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I was flying after I got my cutie mark and well I got hit by a lighting and fell hundred feet to a cloud.” He said. “And even if I had two wing the wonderbolts never would let me fly with them because of my vision.”
“What’s wrong with that?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I can only see faint patterns of the things that are around me… but I can see ponies clearly because of the magic that is inside of them.” He said to the older pegasus.
“What do you mean. you can see the magic?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Well you know… unicorns can use their magic. Pegasi use their magic in flying and earth ponies have the special connection to the ground and the nature. I can see that.” Golden Dash explained to Rainbow Dash.
“You know what Goldie. You are a pretty cool little pony.” Rainbow Dash said and ruffled his mane.
“I guess you cool too Rainbows.” He said and laughed.
“So what are you baking now?” Applejack asked.
“Pie!” The beige coloured mare twins with brown manes said.
“Ohhh… pie…” Pinkie pie said and looked at the pie.
“So you two are twins eh.” Applejack asked.
“Yeah!” They said in unison again.
“What’s your favourite recipe? Apple pie, brownies, cake, muffins…” Pinkie said but was interrupted by Applejack.
“What do you gals say if me and Pinkie help you make these apple pies?” She asked
“Oh now you don’t have to we are professionals.” Carrot said.
“But if you want to sure you can as long as you tell us your recipe.” Cookie said.
“Sure thing.” Pinkie said and looked at Applejack. She just nodded.
“We have heard a lot of good things about the Apple family pies.” Carrot said.
“You have?” Applejack asked.
“Yes. And they that the Sugar cube corner has the best cakes and muffins in the whole equestria.” Cookie said.
“Well let’s get baking then.” Applejack said and walked over to them.
“YEAH EXTREME BAKING MODE ACTIVATED!” Pinkie pie yelled in excitement.
“So Rarity… what do you think about all of this?” Futtershy asked as they looked at the young ones doing their chores.
“Well I think that is nice that a group of young ponies can live together and make sure that everyone is okay in their little family.” Rarity said and looked at Fluttershy.
“What do you think is gonna happen at the party that will be tonight?” Fluttershy asked.
“It’s going to be lovely I’m sure of it. It’s just one of their holidays… Full moon celebration… I’m sure that it will be great.” Rarity said and smiled at Fluttershy who was doubtful.
The group of ponies had taken their seats and were eating dinner. It was almost middle of the night and the moon was completely round. The ponies had sang a couple of songs and the mane six had told the little ones stories of their adventures. The little ones had been listening to their stories but one was more interesting than others. Their first adventure together… the defeat of Nightmare moon. Twilight saw how the colts and fillys were looking at them while they told the story… they seemed like they were watching the story happen in front of them… it was weird Twilight thought.
Once they had finished their story Night Comet stood up and looked at the fillys and colts who were looking at him.
“Well that was a great story. But now is time for the last story before the main event.” He said. “This story will tell the legend of the Knights of night.” He said and looked at the young ones. They all had a huge smile on their faces and they were visibly excited.
“Once upon time there was a huge war raging in Equestria… the great lunar conflict. The Lunar empire had been pushed back to these mountains and they were fighting their last fight. The Royal night guard had just fallen and the Royal canterlot guard was about to face off with the Empress of the night. But before the guard’s five hundred stallions could get to her they had to go through the Knight of night. The six knights were standing in their Imperial armour just waiting for the guards to get to them. Once the solar princess’s army got to them they fought fearlessly against them… they slaughtered each one of them. Six of them defended their empress until all of the sun sister’s guards were dead before them. But then they saw her… The princess of the sun walked towards them around her hovered the elements of harmony. They knew that they could not defeat her even thou they had just destroyed an entire army so they did the unthinkable… they all took a crystal from their pocket and transferred their soul essence to them. The princess of the sun did not know what they had done and was about to pick up the crystals but then she arrived. The empress of the Lunar Empire walked over to them and teleported the crystals away. She knew that she couldn’t defeat her solar sister there right now but some day the Empire would rise and take back what was rightfully hers. Later that night Nightmare moon was banished to the moon but the crystals were still missing and they were missing until our mother gave them to me and my friends… this was the legend of the Knight of night.” Night Comet finished the story and looked around the table.
All the little fillys and colts were excited because they knew what was about to happen. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack looked at the young ones and their expressions of excitement.
“Luna in Gloria, Nos autem ambulabimus!” Golden Dash Yelled and the rest of the young ones followed the chant.
“Twi… I don’t like where this is going.” Applejack said in fear while the young ones were chanting and looking at Night Comet.
“What are they saying?” Rainbow Dash asked Twilight. She was also a bit scared because this was starting to seem really creepy.
“Luna in Gloria, Nos autem ambulabimus… in the glory of the moon we will walk…” Twilight said in a horrified tone.
“Do you mean…” Rarity tried to asked but Twilight cut her off.
“They are Nightmare moon sympathizers… that’s the motto of the Knights of the night.” Twilight said and slowly started to back off from the table. “We need to get out of here.”
All the sudden a huge flock of bats flew in and started to fly in a small circle in front of Night Comet. All of the young ones kneeled down and Night Comet also did. Slowly the flock of bats formed into a pony who was wearing a dark cape and a dark hood. Twilight and her friends only saw her wings and her horn… and her eyes were glowing white.
“oh crap… we need to get out of here fast.” Twilight said and they started to sneak away fast.
“Is that who I think it is?” Applejack said scared.
“Yeah… Nightmare moon.” Twilight said and looked at the dark alicorn who was wearing the cape and hood.
The mane six quickly sneaked out of cave and were running through the Everfree forest. the full moon was high and it lit up the whole forest.
“Twilight! Was that really Nightmare moon?” Rainbow Dash said to Twilight who was running next to her.
“I don’t know. We defeated her and Luna was brought back but… I don’t know.” Twilight said and continued to run. “We need to get back to Celestia and give a warning to her! Split up! at least one of us needs to get to her!” Twilight commanded and the six ran off to different directions.
Back at the cave the dark alicorn took the hood off and revealed her face.
“Rise my children.” She said lovingly.
“We are glad to see you again.” Night Comet said and the little colts and fillys rushed up to her and gave her a group hug.
“I have missed you my little ponies.” She said.
“Umm… Golden Dash where are our visitors?” Night Comet asked and looked around the cave.
“I dunno.” He said.
“What visitors?” The alicorn said with worry.
“Princess Twilight Sparkle came here with her friends… they were right over here a moment ago.” Night Comet said and scratched the back of his head.
“Twilight was here!” The alicorn said loudly. “Oh no… I didn’t tell her anything about you yet.” She said with an worried expression. “We need to find them quickly! If they go and tell my sister we are all in big trouble.” She said
“You heard her! Find them and bring them to her!” Night Comet said and the little ones and him ran off after the mane six.
“Oh no Twilight I’m sorry I didn’t inform you earlier about this.” She said and looked as the young ones ran off.
Rainbow Dash was running through some thick vegetation until she came into an opening in the forest.
“Great! Now I can easily fly off to Canterlot!” She said happily and tried to spread her wings but they didn’t move. they had been tied together
“What the f… YOU!” Rainbow Dash said and saw Golden Dash stand behind her with some rope in his hoofs.
“Sorry… can’t let you leave now.” He said and tied up her hoofs.
“How did you catch me so damn fast?!” Rainbow Dash asked as she saw two unicorns walk out of the woods and they started to hover her back towards the cave.
“I might not be able to fly but I’m fast enough on four hoofs.” Golden Dash chuckled. as they were walking back to the cave.
“Pinkie… I don’t like the look of this.” Applejack said as they saw ten little ponies surround them.
“You two wanna do this the hard way or the easy way?” Carrot asked them.
“Don’t worry we already decided for you two.” Cookie said and before she had finished their hoofs were tied together and they were heading back to the cave.
“Dang... I hope Rarity and Flutters had better luck.” Applejack said.
“I don’t think so.” Pinkie said and pointed at Rarity and Fluttershy who were right in front of them.
“Umm... we surrender.” Rarity and Fluttershy said in unison and chuckled as they saw that their friends had been captured.
“Well Dash flew right out of here. right?” Applejack said.
“You wish” Rainbow Dash said as the unicorns levitated her next to Applejack.
“Well maybe Twi got out.” Applejack said.
“Unlikely.” The young colts and fills laughed.
“what do you mean?” Pinkie asked.
“No one gets away from him.” Corrot said.
“He always catches ponies who try to run.” Cookie said.
“If you run away from him you will only die tired.” Golden Dash said.
“Who is he?” Rarity asked.
“Night Comet.” The three young ponies said and laughed.
Twilight was running through the forest. She was breathing heavily and she had to stop to take a break. She looked back and saw that no one was following her. Her heart was pounding heavily and her hoofs were burning from the running.
“You know you shouldn’t leave before saying good bye.” She heard Night Comet’s voice coming from above her. She looked up and saw Night Comet standing on a tree branch. Her horn started to glow and she shot a beam of magic towards him. He jumped down before the beam could hit him and he quickly tackled Twilight to the ground.
“Don’t touch me traitor!” Twilight said angrily.
“Traitor? what are you talking about?” Night Comet said as he was looking at her.
“You aren’t loyal to Celestia. You are loyal to Nightmare Moon.” She said and gave him an angry gaze.
“What? I don’t understand…” He said and looked at her.
“Wait you think she is Nightmare Moon? BWAHAHAHA!” Night Comet Laughed and smiled. “I think you should come back and let her explain.” Night Comet said and Offered a hoof.
They flew back to the cave and Twilight saw that her friends were already freed and were talking to the alicorn.
“Luna? What are you doing here!” Twilight said in surprise.
“Oh Hello Twilight Sparkle!” Luna said cheerfully. “I’m terribly sorry I didn’t tell you this earlier. I thought that you would come here in a couple of years.” She said and smiled.
“I don’t understand… what are you doing here?” Twilight asked.
“Well I came to visit my little ponies of course!” Luna said while smiling and looking at the young ones.
“You are their mother?” Twilight asked.
“No… they are orphans. several winters ago I had a vision of the future… it was a dark future full of war and misery. But there was a glimmer of hope. I saw the elements of harmony fighting with six knights against the forces of darkness. I saw the six stallions you were fighting alongside and I knew had to find them and prepare them for the future. So I looked for them all across Equestria and finally found them in an orphanage in Manehattan. They were young just like these younglings around you now. I brought the six of them here and taught them to live in harmony with the shadows and night. And now Night Comet is the only one of the original six left here.” Luna said and looked at the girls.
“What about all these other colts and fillys? Why are they here?” Twilight asked Luna.
“They are here because they were abandoned or lost during their foalhood. I couldn’t just watch their suffering I knew I had to help them too.” Luna said and hugged the little colts and fillys.
“But Night Comet is an adult. You were banished to the moon while he was a colt. you couldn’t have brought him here.” Twilight tried to understand what she had just heard.
“Actually I was not banished… Nightmare moon was. The elements of harmony work only against pure evil. Nightmare Moon was in control of my body and mind but after Celestia banished her I could wonder trough out Equestria in spirit form during full moon like tonight.” Luna said and smiled.
“Why didn’t you tell me or Celestia or Candice about all of this.” Twilight asked her.
“I realise that I should have told you and I’m sorry I didn’t.” She said and looked down.
“It’s okay… no pony got hurt.” Twilight said and smiled.
“Yes but I came here for a reason.” Luna said and looked at the young ones and Night Comet. “You my little ponies don’t anymore have to live here in the woods. since Twilights know about you. You all can come and live with me at the Castle of the full moon in the northern mountain range.” All the little ones smiled and rushed up to her and hugged her. Night Comet smiled but looked a bit depressed.
“I suppose I won’t be coming with you guys.” He said and looked at Luna.
“No… you won’t come with us. Your path leads elsewhere.” Luna said and looked at him. “I think that the time is running out… the conflict that I have seen visions of is near and you need to rebuild the Knights of night.” Luna said and walked over to him. “You have to find you brothers and the elements of heroism that he stole… they are useless since there is only five of you now… since he betrayed us. But we need those crystals back.” Luna said.
“But the knights of night were loyal to nightmare Moon… are you asking me to be loyal to her?” Night Comet said and wondered.
“Of course not! You need to reform the old code and rules of the knights and to be loyal to me. Do you understand?” She said.
“Yes.” Night Comet said and kneeled down.
“Good. you will be headquartered at Twilight’s castle. You need to invite your brothers there and talk this over. They will follow you as their leader but now go with Twilight and follow her instructions. You are under her command until I say otherwise.” Luna said and pointed at Twilight.
“Go now and follow you path… don’t do what he did.” Luna said.
“I won’t.” Night Comet said and walked over to Twilight and her friends.
“So I guess we will be heading back to ponyville?” Twilight asked.
“Yeah let’s go.” Night Comet said and they said their good byes to the little ones and to Luna and left for ponyville.
It had been a day since the mane six and Night Comet got back to ponyville. Night Comet had immediately started writing four letters that he had sent out through Spike’s fire breath.
“So when are they gonna be here?” Twilight asked. “If they even come.”
“They wouldn’t dare to go against our mother’s will. give it an hour and they will be here.” Night Comet said and sat down to the throne that had Twilight’s cutie mark on it. “Is this the map that showed where to go?” Night Comet asked and pointed at the cutie mark map that was in front of the chair.
“Yeah… it’s a great map of Equestria but it also serves as my dinner table.” Twilight said and laughed. All the sudden the doors to the room flew open and Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack walked in with smiles.
“Hi girls!” Twilight said cheerfully and smiled. “You need something?”
“No we are fine. We just decided to come and check that everypony here was all right.” Rarity said and five of them walked in to the room.
“Well I think it’s about time.” Night Comet said from Twilight’s seat.
“Time for what?” Twilight asked and lifted an eye brow.
“Three… two… one…” Night Comet said and a loud noise of shattering glass could be heard around the room. A couple of seconds later a black Pegasus stallion with a turquoise mane dropped down from the sealing.
“OH GOD THAT STUNG!” He said in pain as he crashed down to the floor.
“Thunderlane?!” The girls yelled in surprise.
“Hi girls… sorry about your sealing windows Twilight.” He said and gave an awkward laughter.
“You know I'm a bit disappointed that you would say hi to them first.” Night Comet said and looked at Thunderlane from Twilight’s seat.
“Sorry it’s nice to see you Night Comet.” Thunderlane said and walked over to him and sat down to Applejack seat. “Any idea when the rest of us are gonna get here?” Thunderlane asked.
“Three… two… one…” and another sealing window was shattered but this time a snow white Pegasus stallion with neon blue mane dropped down from the sealing.
“OUCH THAT HURT! Damn windows.” He said in pain as he stood up. “Oh! i’m terribly sorry about your windows your highness.” He said and kneed down as Twilight and her friend were looking at him.
“SPIN!” Pinkie yelled and jumped forward and brought the white stallion into a strong hug. He only gave a small squeaked and said.
“Do I know you?” He said.
“No! No you don't.” Pinkie said and walked back to her friends who were wondering what and why Pinkie did that.
“Well it would be nice if you would give us some attention too.” Night Comet said and looked at him. “It’s great to see you Spin.”
“It’s good to see you too Night Comet” He said and walked over to the table and sat down at Pinkie’s seat. “So are the rest coming?”
“Three… two… one…” Night Comet counted down again and another loud noise of windows being shattered were heard and an orange Pegasus stallion with blue mane dropped down from the sealing
"SON OF A… Twilight?” He said and looked at Twilight in surprise.
“It’s nice to see you too decided to destroy my sealing windows Flash.” Twilight said and chuckled a bit.
“Sorry…” Flash said and rubbed back of his head.
“You know that we are here too.” Night Comet said and looked at him.
“Oh hi guys.” He said and walked over to the table and sat down at Rarity’s seat. “So we are missing one more.”
“Not for long. Three… two… one…” Night Comet counted down one last time and again a crash could be heard and a baby blue Pegasus stallion with a navy blue mane dropped down.
“THAT HURT MORE THAN I THOUGHT!” He said in pain and stood up.
“Soarin?!” Rainbow Dash yelled in surprise.
“Oh hi Dash. How have you been.” Soarin asked cheerfully.
“Oh for the love of Celestia! Why all of you ignore you family members!” Night Comet yelled frustrated.
“Sorry.” Saorin said and sat down at Dash’s seat. “It’s been a while since we all been together.” Soarin said.
“Yeah. and there is a good reason for our little gathering… Princess Twilight if you would join us.” Night Comet said and pointed at Fluttershy’s seat.
“Of course I will join our little talk.” Twilight said cheerfully and sat down with the five stallions. Her five friends just stood a couple of meters away and listened. They knew that this was something they didn’t need to get involved at.
“So as I told our mother wants me to rebuild the Knights of night. And I would like you to join me since you are the elements of heroism with me.” Night Comet said.
“Elements of heroism are useless… the crystals are gone and he is gone… it’s useles to try to find them when we don’t have six ponies who could wield them.” Spin said in a serious tone.
“Yeah his right. The elements of heroism are a lost cause.” Soarin said.
“Most likely yes but I want the crystals here so that I could do some research about them. I might be able to find some use to them.” Night comet said.
“Ok anything else.” Flash asked.
“Yes… I have already done the paper work and you are now in service to the Knights of night. Which is at the moment under her majesty Twilight Sparkle’s command. Your rooms are in the second floor and there should be a ceremonial set of armour and a set of combat armour there. Also your swords are there. Does anyone want to go back to their life and not join our ranks?” Night Comet asked and looked around the table.
“I’ll follow you since you have always led us to a better future.” Thunderlane said and looked at Night comet.
“You know what… the air force had a shit pay anyways. I’m in.” Spin said and smiled.
“Being a guard in the crystal empire is so boring… I think a small adventure would be nice.” Flash said and smiled at them.
“The wonderbolt pay is good… but I could not leave you guys hanging.” Soarin said.
“Great. Since Three of you have served in the military I’m trusting you to give Thunderlane a crash course on combat. Flash you are my new second in command and Spin you are my new lieutenant in charge of combat operations. Soarin I want you to be the head trainer in dog fighting and areal moves and Thunderlane you are our weather expert since you are a weather pony.” Night comet said to them and they all nodded back at him.
“So what’s our first mission?” Flash asked.
“We need to find and take back the elements of heroism… I don’t yet know where they are but I will do some research on where he could be hiding with them. Give me a couple of days. Until them I want you to get to know this castle and the ponies in this town. I’ll call you four here when I got some thing new.” Night Comet said and the four stallions just nodded back. “You are free to go.”
Four of them got up and walked out of them room and went towards their rooms that were on the second floor of the castle. Night Comet and the girls were still in the room.
“So they are the elements of heroism?” Twilight asked in amazement.
“Yeah… it could be worse… maybe.” Night Comet laughed. “Anyways I’m gonna need some help with my research would you like to help.”
“Of course. Girls you can leave we got some research to do.” Twilight said and the girls walked out and went on their own way. Fluttershy and Applejack left the castle to do their chores but Rarity, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash stayed behind looking at the stair way that would go up to the second floor…
”Should we go and see if they have already settled in?” Rarity asked and looked at the stairs.
“Yeah!” Pinkie said in excitement and walked up to the second floor of the castle. Rainbow Dash and Rarity followed her close behind. The walked up to a large door and opened it. There was a large lobby like room that had two couches and a table in the middle of it. The room also had five doors that lead in to the quest bed rooms. The girls entered the room and saw Thunderlane and Flash sitting on a couch cheering and yelling.
“COME ON SPIN! DON’T BE A QUITTER.” Flash sentry yelled.
“TAP HIM OUT SOARIN.” Thunderlane cheered on.
The girls walked closer and saw that Spin and Soarin were on the floor wrestling and trying to apply a submission moves to each other. Spin was on his back and Soarin was on top of him trying to get a double wrist lock applied. The girls just looked at the two grow up stallions wrestling like little foals on the ground. Both of them were smiling as Soarin finally took over the fight and applied a guillotine choke to Spin.
“TIME TO SLEEP SPINNY!” Thunderlane yelled.
“DON’T YOU DARE TO TAP OR BLACK OUT SPIN!” Flash yelled but after ten seconds Spin fainted and Soarin released the choke hold. He put Spin’s head down and woke him up.
“Fuck you Soarin.” Spin said and smiled.
“I believe that means I won.” Soarin said and gave him a hoof bump.
“You know I thought that you would have got him with that arm bar.” Flash said from the couch.
“Yeah I thought too but I guess Soarin has become more like me over the years.” Spin said and smiled as he walked over to the couch and sat down. He also spotted the mares who were looking at them in silence. They didn’t know what they had just witnessed. Soarin too spotted them and looked at Dash.
“What’s up?” Soarin asked and walked over to Rainbow Dash.
“What the heck was that?” She asked as she and her friends sat down on the other couch that was facing the couch that the stallions had occupied.
“It’s called combat training.” Spin said from the other couch and stood up. “Do you girls know where the shower is. I could use a quick one after that… lose.” He said and whipped off the sweat that was on his forehead.
“Sure thing Spinny whinny.” Pinkie said cheerfully and grapped Spin’s arm and bounced off the room with him.
“How do they know each other?” Flash asked nopony in particular but Rarity decided to answer.
“I don’t think they know each other. Pinkie is just… well Pinkie.” She said and smiled.
“Whatever going to go and take a nap.” Flash said and walked off to one of the quest rooms and slammed the door closed. After that it was just Soarin and Thunderlane with the girls in the room. There was a awkward silence but luckily Thunderlane broke it by saying.
“So… Rarity. Doing anything tonight.” He said and bounced his eyebrows.
“Nothing that involves you.” She said and gave him a could look. Soarin and Rainbow Dash just stayed silent and let the events unfold.
“Come on Rarity. I know that you would like to go on a date with me.” Thunderlane said confidently.
“And what makes you think that.” Rarity said again couldly.
“Because I’m almost a complete stud. I got the S,T and the D only thing I need is yoU.” Thunderlane said and all the others just gasped at his bluntness. Soarin facehoofed and shook his head. Rarity got up and smacked Thunderlane across his jaw and then walked off the room.
“That was smooth.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Yeah… What were you thinking.” Soarin asked.
“Well.. Something.” Thunderlane said.
“I hope that’s not your best pick up line.” Soarin said and looked at him.
“Oh I got tones of them.” Thunderlane said and smiled. “I think I should go and apologize to her.” He said and stood up and walked after her leaving Rainbow Dash and Soarin alone to the room.
“So… an element of heroism. Never decided to tell me about that. even thou I told you about being an element of harmony.” Rainbow Dash said and looked at Soarin.
“Yeah… I probably should have told you about that. but you know it was a secret at the time.” Soarin said and scratched the back of his head.
“So what element are you?” Dash asked.
“Soarin the element of honour at your service.” Soarin said and smiled.
“Honour? really? I thought you would have been the element of pies or maybe clipping your wing.” Dash said and laughed. “What about the rest of them?”
“Well Night Comet is of course the element of wisdom and Spin is clearly the element of valor. Flash is the element of bravery and Thunderlane is the element of strength. and the he was the element of fairness.” Soarin finished and looked at Dash.
“Who is he?” Dash asked.
“I’ll tell you when it’s relevant to you to know his name.” Soarin said and looked at her.
“So how did you meet each other then?” Rainbow Dash asked again. She thought that she knew all about Soarin after all he was her best friend at the wonderbolt HQ but they never really talked about family and personal stuff like this.
“Well me and Spin are real brothers and we have looked out for each other ever since we were throng away to the manehattan orphanage when we were foals. There we met the others and ever since then the six… five of us have been like family.” Soarin said and smiled.
“I never knew that you had a brother.” Rainbow Dash said.
“You never asked… talking about asking I was about to ask you something the other day before you flew off.” Soarin said and looked in to her magenta eyes.
“What were you about to ask?” Rainbow Dash asked and looked into his emerald eyes and blushed a bit. She always thought that Soarin was really handsome but she knew that she wound never be able to get him to be with her. After all the wonderbolts were know all across Equestria and Soarin was quite popular with the mare audience. Dash knew that Soarin had a couple of encounter with fanfillies that went further than just a hug or a kiss…
“Well I was wondering if you would like to go on a da…” Soarin tried to say but then Spin ran to the room. He was wearing a towel around his body and was completely wet from the shower.
“Soarin you gotta help me!” Spin said and ran up to him.
“What’s wrong?” Soarin asked.
“She doesn’t leave me alone.” Spin said and looked back at the door. “Oh god here she comes.” Spin quickly ran to his room and closed the door. Soon after that Pinkie walked in and asked.
“Where’s Spin? He forgot to wash his mane.” Pinkie said cheerfully and looked at Soarin and Dash.
“Pinkie… is there something between you and him?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Nope! or at least not yet. Give it a couple of chapters.” Pinkie said and chuckled and then bounced away happily.
“You were about to ask me something.” Dash said to Soarin once Pinkie was out of the room.
“Well do you wanna go out tonight and you know see a movie or something?” Soarin said and tried to hide his blush. The question took while to process through Rainbows brain. Her crush, idol, teammate, trainer and a friend just asked her out… like she was gonna say no.
“I’d love that Soarin.” Rainbow Dash said softly.
“Great you wanna go now?” Soarin asked.
“Yeah sure thing I got nothing else planned.” Dash said cheerfully and they soon left the castle to go for a flight trough ponyville.
Rainbow Dash and Soarin had just left the castle and Spin finally walked out of his room. He loked around and saw nopony in the large lobby like room. He walked over to the couch and laid down. He did’t know what he had done in his previous life wrong that caused the terrible course of the pink pony to be set upon him. He just laid there on the couch for several minutes thinking about life until he felt a weird touch on his side. He turned over and saw that Pinkie was laying next to him on the couch looking at him. He quickly jumped up and screamed in fear.
“Pinkie!”
“Wassup?” She said cheerfully
“Would you just please leave me alone.” Spin said and looked at the ground.
“Why? Do you wanna be alone?” Pinkie said and gave him a pair of puppy eyes.
“Yeah… so please leave me alone.” Spin said and looked at her.
“Why do you wanna be alone Spinny.” Pinkie asked him.
“Because…. I just feel like it.” Spin said because he didn’t come up with anything else.
“Sounds like you just don’t like me.” Pinkie said and her puppy eyes almost started to cry.
“No. no I do like you…” Spin said quickly trying to calm Pinkie down but then Pinkie just cut him off mid sentence.
“Great let’s go then.” Pinkie said happily and grabbed Spin’s hoof and they were off. Spin didn't even get any time to protest her decision.
“Rarity I’m sorry I was impolite.” Thunderlane said to Rarity through her front door.
“You have no idea how to talk to a lady of my kind.” Rarity said and opened the door.
“Please let me make it up to you.” Thunderlane said to her.
“Fine but I get to choose the place and you are paying.” Rarity said and smiled.
“Great… you lead I follow.” Thunderlane said and they were off.
“The books on the lunar empire are on that self over there and the books on the history of the lunar conflict are over there.” Twilight told Night Comet as they were walking through the library of the castle.
“Great I’ll start reading. I will tell you if I need some help.” Night Comet said and walked off.
“Hey Twilight!” Flash said and walked up to her from behind.
“Oh hi Flash.” Twilight smiled at him.
“I was thinking… if you would like to do something today?” He asked and tried not to turn red.
“Sure you can help me organize my books!” Twilight said happily and smiled.
“Umm… I was thinking something more like a dinner or a movie… but sure I’ll help.” Flash said and looked at her.
“Great follow me we got about two hundred books to organize.” Twilight said cheerfully.
“Two hundred…” Flash said in awe. "oh this was a big mistake" He whispered as he saw the piles of books.
“So what did you think about the movie.” Soarin said as he and Dash came out of the movie theatre.
“Those new Daring do films aren’t as good as the originals…” Dash said and remembered what the young yellow colt she had met a couple of days ago told her. “But it was good.”
“Yeah. wanna grab something to eat before we get back to the castle?” Soarin asked her as they were walking through ponyville.
“Sure I know a great bakery in town follow me.” Rainbow Dash said and flew off towards Sweet sugar cube. They landed next to the door and walked in. They saw Pinkie and Spin sitting in one of the tables near the door. Pinkie and him were eating some pie and talking about something. But when Pinkie Spotted Dash and Soarin she got up and shot across the room towards Rainbow Dash yelling.
“Rainbow dash!” She hugged her friend hard. Spin and Soarin both looked at the mares and then each others.
“Pinkie what’s up.” Dash said and broke the hug.
“Girl talk. That's what's up.” Pinkie said and picked up Dash and ran to the back room.
“What the…” Soarin wondered what just had happened but Spin cut him off.
“Don’t think about it too hard… Pinkie is…. something else.” Spin said and looked at the door that Pinkie had just ran through with Dash on her arms.
“What do you think they are doing back there?” Soarin asked and sat down next to Spin.
“Probably making out.” Spin said and eat a piece of pie.
“WHAT?!” Soarin asked.
“Calm down Soarin. they are probably just talking.” Spin chuckled and continued eating. “So what’s up with you and Skittles anyways?”
“You know that I like her…. and I think she likes me too.” Soarin said and blushed a bit.
“Did you ask her out?” Spin as he was eating.
“Yeah… what about you and the pink psychopath. what’s up with you two?” Soarin asked and gave a small poke to Spin’s side.
“I have no idea what’s her problem but she is kinda sweet…” Spin said and looked at Soarin who was chuckling a bit. “Not like that. Get your mind off the gutter.” Spin said and hit Soarin lightly to the back of his head.
“Whatever.” Soarin simply said and laughed. “Like you wouldn’t like to do that.”
“Fuck off. At least I’m not going out with a bag of skittles. rainbow humper.” Spin shot back.
“Ok Dashie… I need help.” Pinkie said as they entered the back room of the bakery.
“Ok I’m listening.” Rainbow Dash simply said.
“This is a secret. Promise me that you won’t tell to anypony.” Pinkie pie said.
“Cross My Heart, Hope to Fly, Stick a Cupcake in my Eye!” Dash said and did the motions for a pinkie promise.
“Great! I think I have a crush on Spin.” Pinkie said and blushed.
“Really.” Dash said unimpressed. “So what?”
“What should I do?” Pinkie asked.
“Just be what ever you are usually.” Dash said confidently and walked out of the back room. She opened the door and saw two grown up Pegasus stallions wrestling like little colts on the floor again. This time Spin was on top and Soarin was clearly disadvantaged.
“Excuse me!” Rainbow Dash yelled and caught the attention of the stallions. Both of them looked at her and then at each other. Then they quickly got up and smiled innocently like small colts.
“Ok I think it’s about time to get back to the castle… you two need a shower clearly.” Dash said and saw pieces of pie and stains of sweat in both of their furs.
“Fine let’s go.” Spin said and walked over to Pinkie. “Ready to go back to the castle?”
“Yeah let’s go and this time you will wash your mane!” Pinkie said and took a bottle of shampoo to her hooves from behind her back.
“Where did you get that?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Where do you think?” Pinkie said happily and bounced off.
Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Soarin and Spin walked back to the castle and as they entered the library of the castle they saw Twilight reading books and Flash trying to figure out her complex method of organising them. Pinkie and Spin walked up the stairs back to the showers as Rainbow Dash and Soarin sat down to a couch in the library.
“I really enjoyed today.” Rainbow Dash started and blushed. she wasn’t good with sappy stuff like this but Soarin just made her feel different…
“Yeah me too. we should totally do this again some time.” Soarin said and brought his hoof over Dash’s shoulders and pulled her close to his side. She could hear his heart beat and feel his body heat. Both of them looked at each other in the eyes and started to move their mouths closer together…
“No rutting on my couches!” Twilight commanded from the table she was sitting at a couple of meters away from them. Both of them blushed completely red and looked at her. But luckily the awkward situation was short lived as Night Comet Ran to the table with a map. He had a happy look on his face and was clearly excited.
“I think I know where those crystals could be.” He said and opened the map in front of Twilight. Flash quickly walked over to it and so did Rainbow Dash and Soarin. “The valley next to the northern mountain range.” He told and pointed at a mountain range.
“But the castle of the full moon is right here. Why would they be hiding next to Luna and her castle.” Twilight said
“Well I don’t think that Luna would be looking for them next to her front door and that’s the only place where he could use them since they need the power of the lunar sister to work. Of course he can’t use them alone but he might be able to do some test to them or even abuse them. Hopefully he hasn’t done any damage to the crystals.” Night Comet said and looked at the door that just opened.
“Hi! did we interrupt something?” Rarity said as she and Thunderlane walked in and sat down to the opposite side of the table.
“No actually it’s good that you came. Will be soon going to get the crystals back.” Twilight said as applejack too arrived with some pies and she sat down next to Rarity.
“I decided to make us some food. though that you’d need some after all that readin’.” Applejack said and handed the pies over.
“Thank you.” The ponies said as they started to eat but then the door opened again and Spin and Pinkie Pie walked in… or at least tried to they seemed like they were drunk or in some kind of afterglow. Both of them were slightly wet from the shower and both had huge smiles on their faces and they seemed more than happy.
“You two okay?” Twilight said as they walked over to the table.
“We are great. Aren’t we Pinkie?” Spin said and smiled.
“Yep.” Pinkie said and leaned into Spin's side and giggled.
“Okay then… now if we are going to the valley we need to know what are we going up against.” Twilight said and looked at Night Comet.
“Well we will probably go against one power hungry maniac who might have some kind of magical power depending on if he has done something to the crystals.” Night Comet told.
“Who is he?” Twilight simply asked.
“Blizzard.” The stallions said in unison. The girls could feel the hate and anger that the word carried.
“He deserves everything that is coming to him!” Spin said and hit the table with his hoof angrily.
“Yeah! I say we make sure he goes six feet under!” Thunderlane said angrily.
“He might have done a bad thing and stabbed us to the back but we can’t kill him.” Flash tried to calm the two down.
“He broke our oath. He broke our family. He betrayed our mother. He deserved death!” Spin and Thunderlane said together while looking at Flash.
“That’s true but the elements corrupted him… he wouldn’t have done it if he wouldn’t have been controlled by them.” Soarin told the two of them. Night Comet had stayed quiet and just looked at the exchange with the girls but then he spoke up.
“If he doesn’t realise his wrong doings then you can have your way with him.” Night Comet said to Thunderlane and Spin. “But if he comes back to us and reforms himself then we will help him. you got that?”
“Sure thing.” Thunderlane said.
“We will leave for the valley tomorrow morning. sleep well we need to be at your best game tomorrow.” Night Comet said and almost all of them walked off to their bed rooms and houses.
“So Pinkie… I believe we have some unfinished business.” Spin said and wiggled his eye brows.
“Yes we do.” Pinkie said and they walked up stairs leaving Dash and Soarin alone to the room.
“So…” Soarin tried to start.
“Sure I’ll stay here.” Dash answered before he could even finish his question.
“Well let’s go then." Soarin said and they walked up stairs to his room. The room wasn’t huge like Twilight bed room but it was bigger than Dash’s still. Soarin picked Dash up and threw her to the bed and laid down on top of her. Their faces were inches away from each other and they looked at each other.
“Dash… I love you.” Soarin simply said and kissed her passionately. Soon he broke off the kiss and Dash said.
“I love you too.” Softly and looked at his emerald eyes. The moment was perfect but it didn’t last… a long loud moan of passion from the room next to them destroyed the sweet moment they were having.
“Ahhhh!” They could hear Spin and Pinkie yell in unison.
“HEY! YOU TWO STOP RUTTING IN MY QUEST ROOMS!” Twilight’s loud yell could be heard all around the castle. She sounded almost angry and the moans of pleasure quickly ended.
“She sounded a bit annoyed.” Spin said and looked at Pinkie who was laying next to him gasping for air between the last small moans of pleasure escaping her mouth.
“Yeah she gets a bit butt hurt when ponies ruin her sheets.” Pinkie said and rolled over to hug Spin. “I really love you Spinny.” Pinkie said and hugged him. He simply put his hooves around her body and hugged her tightly.
“I love you too Pinkie. In all of your craziness.”
Celestia’s sun had pushed Luna’s moon away and ponies were slowly waking up. Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and saw that Soarin was still in his sleep underneath her. She didn’t get up from the bed but only nuzzled closer to his chest and hugged him softly.
“Good morning Dashie.” Soarin said and opened his eyes to find the mare of his dreams sleeping on his chest.
“Hi Soar… we should get up and get something to eat before Twilight or Night Comet yells us out of bed.” Dash said and got out of the bed.
“Yeah… your right.” Soarin said and they walked down stairs to see Twilight giving a lecture to Spin and Pinkie Pie.
“And that’s why no rutting on my furniture!” Twilight said to them angrily.
“Okay we are sorry.” Spin simply said and looked at Pinkie pie.
“Hi guys!” Rainbow Dash said and took a set from the table. “When are we gonna leave for the valley?”
“Now.” Night Comet said as he walked in with the rest of the ponies. “Boys get your armour sets on and take your swords with you. They might come in handy.” He said and after getting all they would need they were off to the valley. It took them the whole day to walk to the valley since the train didn’t go there.
When they arrived to the valley they could see an old mine entrance on the side of a hill. They knew that that would be the place where Blizzard would be hiding if he was even in this valley. They walked in to the mine and saw that it hadn’t been used for years. There was Spider webs everywhere and only light in there was coming out of Rarity’s and Twilight’s horns which they used to light the way.
“Be careful.” Night Comet simply said as they walked deeper into the mine. Fluttershy was scared shitless and said.
“I have a bad feeling about this.”
“Well you should.” A voice could be heard saying. It echoed through the mine and it was all most demonic. It creeped every pony out. Rainbow Dash took a look at Soarin but he was just as scared. Flash had walked over to Twilight and was ready to charge at anything that would come out of the Darkness. Rarity and Thunderlane were sticking next to each other as they scanned the darkness while Fluttershy and Applejack were trying to light a torch they had found on the wall. Pinkie had decided to jump on to Spin’s back and was hugging him tightly as he took his sword to his hooves.
“Blizzard. Come out we know it’s you.” Night comet Said to the darkness of the mine and waited for an answer.
“You have to find me first.” The voice said and chuckled.
“Fine. Let’s keep moving.” Night Comet said and took his sword out too. Rest of the stallions followed him by taking their swords out too. And Fluttershy and Applejack had finally gotten the torch lit and were now handing out lit torches to those who wanted one.
They continued to walk deeper and deeper to the until the mine spilt into two directions. Other one seemed to go up and the other one seemed to go down.
“We are gonna spilt up. Stallion to the right and mares to the left one. If you come to a dead end turn back and come to here.” Night Comet said and every one nodded. After that the five stallions walked down the mine and the mares up. They kept walking down and down until they came to a large room that was lit by purple crystals that covered the walls. The stallions could see the traitor in front of them… he had black fur and red mane and his eyes were slightly glowing orange. They also saw the elements of heroism right behind him. They were all different colour… Blue for valor, Red for strength, Violet for wisdom, Green for honour, Orange for bravery and white for fairness.
“Well isn’t this nice.” The black Pegasus stallion started. “A family reunion.”
“We will give you one change to say sorry.” Night Comet said and looked at his eyes.
“Yeah how about no.” And as Blizzard said that several shadowy figures rose through the ground and picked up swords and shields. The elements of heroism also flew up to the air and hovered.
“Thunderlane and Spin get the elements! Soarin and Flash take care of those shadows! I’ll take him!” Night Comet said and the Stallions were off. Soarin and Flash started to slash up the shadows one by one with their swords while Night Comet saw Blizzard run out to another room. he quickly ran after him.
Meanwhile Spin and Thunderlane were flying and taking the crystals in to their pockets. It was a easy job since Soarin and Flash were doing the fighting. But Once they got the last element Spin was tackled by a shadow. He dropped the elements and two of them landed safely on the ground but the third one… the blue one… His element of valor hit a pickaxe and shattered into millions of pieces. He gasped and saw the magic that was stored inside the crystal escape it and flew towards him. He felt how the magic went into his body and sent out huge shivers of pain. But all the sudden it stopped. He didn’t feel any pain and felt okay. He looked up and saw Thunderlane fighting two shadows he was over powered and the crystals that he had went flying. Spin quickly tried to catch them all but one hit the floor and shattered into pieces… Thunderlane’s red element of strength… the magic flew towards Thunderlane and went into his body. He cried out in pain as the magic was inside him but he also soon felt okay. Two of them looked around each other and saw that the shadows were gone. They looked at each other and saw a faint orange glow in each others eyes they didn’t know why but they all the sudden realised that they could trust each other more than the rest of the stallions… after all they were the real stallions of the family the rest was there just to admire them… or at leats that’s what they thought all the sudden.
“Thunderlane.” Spin said and gave him and devilish smile.
“Spin.” Thunderlane said and gave him a similar smile.
“Let’s go you know what to do.” Spin simply said. He didn’t know why but he knew that Thunderlane knew what they had to do…
“Blizzard!” Night Comet yelled into the Darkness of the room. He took out his sword and was ready to strike him if he showed up.
“Night Comet!” He yelled and strike hi to the back of his head from behind. Night Comet was throng off his balance and fell to the floor of the mine.
“You bitch!” Night Comet said and jumped back at him. He tackled him to the floor and started to pound his face in with stiff strikes. As he pounded his face he saw that he was just smiling and laughing. But his eyes were not glowing orange… It wasn’t Blizzard… Night Comet quickly stopped beating him and turned around to see Blizzard with a sword.
“Hi.” He simply said and put the sword right through Night Comet’s chest. Night Comet saw the orange glow in his eyes as he showed the sword deep in to his chest and through his body. He felt the pain and the blood coming out of the wound. The Blizzard twisted the sword and pulled it out. It felt like his heart was pulled out and Night Comet quickly collapsed to the floor. He coughed out blood as he saw Spin and Thunderlane walk in to the room. Night Comet fought the pain and stayed awake.
“Ahh you are here.” Blizzard said as they walked in front of him. Night Comet saw that faint orange glow in their eyes too… this was it wasn’t it. “Well I think that you should now proclaim your loyalty to me.” Blizzard said and smiled victoriously.
“Sorry but the empress of the night does not need your services anymore.” Spin said and drove his sword through Blizzards body. Night Comet just watched as Spin pulled out his sword and then Thunderlane made a huge swing with his sword that cut Blizzard throat open. Blizzard quickly collapsed and stopped breathing as the blood form the large cut in his neck was spilling out. Then Thunderlane and Spin turned to face Night Comet Who was bearly awake and alive. They walked over to him and looked at him with their orange glowing eyes.
“Should we finish him?” Thunderlane asked Spin.
“I don’t think we need to.” And after that Night Comet felt the world around him turn dark and cold… there was no sound, no light, no life…
Night Comet didn’t feel anything but coldness around him. There was nothing in death… except one small glimmer of light. He could see it in the distance. A purple star. He walked towards it and as he got closer to it he could start feel warm and see the light around him.
“Night Comet!” A female voice said as he walked over to the star that was hovering above the darkness.
“Am I dead?” Night Comet asked the hovering purple star.
“Yes… a great darkness has awoken and your brothers Spin and Thunderlane have fallen under its power.” The Star said. He knew that he had seen that star before but where?.
“What are you?” Night Comet asked.
“I’m the one that keeps the balance in this world… harmony.” The voice said. “And I have a mission for you.”
“I’m dead… or something like that i cant do anything about it. By the way where are we.?” Night Comet asked and looked around him. It seemed that they were floating in space but that wouldn’t have made any sense.
“We are in the aether. It’s a space between our reality and the fifth dimension.” The voice told him. “You are here because your journey is not over. You have to help The elements of harmony in their fight against the darkness that has awoken.”
“But I’m dead… Game over.” Night comet said and sat down. He didn’t feel any sadness or pain in being dead.
“Yes but we can ignore that fact.” The voice said.
“How?” Night Comet asked. All the wise stallions of the world always said that death was the great equalizer. You can’t escape it or go around it.
“You are the element of wisdom. You are Luna’s child of the night. You can go to other's dreams like her… Go and give advices to the elements of harmony and to your remaining brothers. But at the moment only thing we can do is watch the great tragedy unfold… We can’t stop it anymore and if your friends don’t succeed in achieving their destinies the world will fall to hands of the night empress or the solar queen. The future is dark and full of misery and death… but at the moment the only thing we can do is wait for our moment.” The voice said.
“He is dead.” Thunderlane said and listened as Night Comet stopped breathing and his heart stopped.
“Good… we will make our next move at his funeral.” Spin said and walked over to Blizzards lifeless body. “You served her imperial glory good but you are useless now…” Spin said and made sure that Blizzard was dead by driving his sword through his body again.
Two of them stayed there looking at the two dead Pegasus stallions until they could hear a group of ponies walk towards them. They quickly put their swords back to their holsters and the slight orange glow from their eyes fainted away.
“Spin, Thunderlane! We took care of the shadows and the girls ar…” Soarin was saying until he saw Night Comet’s lifeless body.
“We weren’t fast enough…” Spin said and looked at Soarin.
“Is he dead?” Flash walked up to them. “Is Blizzard dead?” He said with anger and sadness.
“Don’t worry. we made sure he got what he deserved.” Spin said and pointed at Blizzards body. Everypony were silent for a long time remembering their memories of Night Comet expect Spin and Thunderlane… Only thing they could think of was what they would do at his funeral…
The ponies decide to burn Blizzard’s corpse right there in the mine since nopony really thought that he deserved a funeral. But The Stallions picked up Night Comet’s body and carried all the way back to the castle of the full moon that was close by.
The following days were full of morning and sadness. Night Comet was like a father figure to the small colts and fillies that lived with Luna in the castle now days. Luna wasn’t taking it well either…
“Oh Night Comet…” She cried out as he were looking at his dead body that had been laid on a bed in one of the quest rooms. It was the middle off the night and the moon was shining to the room hitting Night Comets body. Luna was alone in the room and she knew that the little ones and Twilight and her friends were sleep as well. She could finally tell Night Comet something she never told him…
“Night Comet… I’m sorry…” She cried. “I never thought that you would die because of a mission that I gave you… I want you to know this about your family… you weren’t an orphan always… you were my child…” She cried out and looked at the moon.
The funeral of Night Comet was a small. There were no lords or generals attending the funeral. Only his mother, brothers and sisters, the mane six and Princess Celestia were there. They had a short memorial event and then the casket was lowered to the hole that was in the back yard of Luna’s castle.
After the casket was buried all the ponies went to the garden for dinner in memory of Night Comet. Princess Celestia was sitting alone on a table. Spin knew that this was the moment to make his move… The orange shade came to his eyes and he walked over to Thunderlane.
“Go and talk to her… I will take care of Luna.” Spin said to Thunderlane and his eyes too started to glow slightly orange. After that the two went to see the Princesses.
“Mother.” Spin said and kneeled down.
“Spin what is it.” Luna said back in a sad but loving tone. Spin sat down next to her and said.
“What do you think of Blizzards betrayal.”
“He was manipulated by something… We couldn’t have saved him. You did what you had to do.” Luna said and dropped a tear. “Who or what ever manipulated him will pay for it. and we will find the missing crystals” She said not knowing that the crystals were broken since Spin had told her that they were missing...
“I think I know who manipulated him… Celestia.” Spin whispered to Luna.
“Seriously… why would have she done that?” Luna asked back.
“Maybe she was scared that there was another set of powerful elements in this world that could have destroyed her kingdom… She wants to control you with the threat of the elements of harmony. She didn’t want you to have the same kind of power as she had.” Spin said in a serious tone to her.
“No… she couldn’t have.” Luna thought about it… it didn’t make any sense.
“She opposed your decision to live in your own castle even thou Twilight lives in her own one… She didn’t want you forming the Night guard to guard your own palace. She want her guard to guard your palace and turn it in to a prison for you.” Spin told her in an almost manipulating tone. To luna it all made sense now. Her sister had been trying to control her life…
“Look at her talking to Thunderlane… they are plotting against you… She wants to get rid of you and rule alone…” Spin said and Luna looked at Celestia who was speaking with Thunderlane. “If I were you I would recruit more guard to your ranks and prepare for a revolution… She will try to destroy you later or sooner… What will you do?” Spin asked Luna.
“I will not fall again… I won’t let her destroy the life I have achieved for me and my little ones!” Luna said angrily. “Spin I want you to recruit more guards and you will be the new captain for the Knights of night and your new mission is to let me know if Celestia or Twilight starts to prepare for an assault.”
“Yes your majesty.” Spin said and smiled.
“Your royal highness.” Thunderlane said and sat down next to Celestia.
“Hello Thunderlane. She said to him.
“What do you think of the elements of heroism?” He asked her.
“We have seen what they made Blizzard do… I don’t like them.” She said and worried about their magical effects. “But I do trust Luna and her judgement.”
“I don’t like it either… Not that I wouldn’t care about her but the elements of heroism are dangerous and I think I know why she made them…” Thunderlane said to her.
“What do you know Thunderlane.” Celestia asked.
“She plans to do a revolution with them… She wants to use them to destroy the elements of harmony.” Thunderlane said to her.
“She would never do that!” Celestia said angrily.
“And still she has gotten herself a new castle and an army… and now she has the remaining crystal in her vault.” Thnderlane said.
“But you said you didn’t find two of them… they are unusable without two of them.” Celestia tried to reason.
“She has already asked the guard to look for them… She is going to put you through the same pain as you put her through… Thousand years banished… She wants to rule Equestria alone… Look at her plotting with Spin.” Thunderlane said and pointed at Luna. “So are you gonna do nothing and wait for her surprise attack or are you gonna reform the royal army and crush her before she gets the change to do that to you…” Thunderlane said.
“I won’t let her destroy my kingdom… I will reform the royal army… but I need her acceptance to do so. I have to speak to her.” Celestia said and walked over to Luna and Spin.
“Hello sister.” Celestia said coldly.
“What do you need?” Luna said coldly.
“I was thinking that maybe I should reform the royal army… Just in case if another evil magic monster attacks Equestria.” Celestia said.
“I knew it… She is planning to banish me again and rule alone.” Luna though to herself. “Of course but also I think I should get more guards so that we can defend Equestria better.” Luna said. “I knew it! She is planning a revolution… she wants to revenge me.” Celestia thought to herself. “Of course… I should get going before it’s too late…” Celestia said and walked off leaving Spin, Thunderlane and Luna alone.
“Spin you were right. Get me every stallion who is fit to fight and make me an army that will defend this castle and me.” Luna said and walked towards the huge doors that would lead into the throne room.
“Yes your highness.” Spin said and smiled devilishly as the glow in his and Thunderlane’s eyes became a bit brighter…
Celestia walked over to her carriage and said to one of the guards.
“Fly to Canterlot and tell the military high command to prepare for war… Also tell them to reform the royal army and plan an assault to the castle of the full moon.” Clestia commanded coldly.
The mane six and Soarin, Spin, Flash sentry and Thunderlane had decided to stay at the castle of the full moon for a day or two. It was all most middle of the night and Rainbow Dash had some issues getting to sleep. She couldn’t sleep at all without Soarin by her side. Two of them had been getting more and more closer during the events that had unfolded. She turned to her side and saw the empty spot on the bed. Soarin had gone out for some beers with the other guys. Rainbow Dash couldn’t get to sleep and decided to go for a walk around the castle. She got out of bed and walked through the long corridors of the castle until she got to the library.
“Maybe I should read a bit… just a bit it’s not like I’m an egghead if I read once something else than Daring do books.” She thought to herself and walked between the bookshelves.
She didn’t see anything interesting to read but she heard the door that she walked in open and two ponies walked in. It was Spin and Thunderlane but their eyes were glowing orange.
“what the…” She thought for herself as she hid behind a book shelf and listened to them talk.
“So do you think that the princesses will play along?” Thunderlane asked Spin.
“Of course they are blind… they won’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.” Spin said confidently to him.
“What about the elements of harmony… They can still stop us.” Thunderlane said.
“What on Equestria are they planning?” Dash muttered to herself.
“Did you hear that?” Spin said and looked around the library. “My ears must be playing tricks… The elements of harmony are nothing to worry about. We just gotta separate them and they will be useless. Soarin and Flash are idiots since they would never join our cause and betray the elements so we need to do this together.” Spin finished.
“They are idiots for not seeing the greatness of her imperial glory.” Thunderlane said proudly. “And she will reward us greatly once we will release her.”
“Yes. Once we are done Equestria will be ruled by Nightmare Moon in all her imperial glory.” Spin said and the glow in his eyes grew stronger.
“Nightmare Moon… oh nonononononononoooo.” Dash said to herself and tried to sneak away but she clipped a book with her wing and once it hit the floor a loud noise could be heard around the library.
“What was that?” Spin said angrily and looked around. “There is somepony here. let’s find him or her and give a lesson on eavesdropping.” Spin said to Thunderlane angrily and the two of them started to walk between the bookshelves. Thunderlane went ring and Spin went left and slowly walked closer to the self that Dash was hiding behind.
“We know you are here somewhere” Thunderlane said and his voice echoed through the library.
”You know what happens to ponies that spy on others...” Spin said in a threatening tone and continued. “Just come out and we wont hurt you." He said as he walked pass Dash who was hiding between the two shelves. Spin walked right pass her and stopped a couple of meters away from her. Her heart was pounding like crazy. Rainbow Dash thought that Spin didn’t see her since he had walked right pass her but then.
"Hello Rainbow Dash." Spin said and turned to face Dash with an evil grin on his face. ”And why are you here hiding?." He said angrily and walked over to her. Dash was paralyzed and scared for her life He grabbed Dash by the neck and pushed her against the book shelf.
” Bow down to your superiors.” Thunderlane said as he walked over to them.
You know what Dashie..."Spin said and and threw Dash to the ground and pinned her head with his hoof to the floor. He used a lot of force and Dash felt like her head was about to explode.
”We are gonna have some fun.” Thunderlane said and walked followed Spin.
"Maybe we should give you a lesson... and something else." Spin said and smiled devilishly and released Dash’s head. Dash quickly tried to crawl away from him but she backed right down to Thunderlane. She was surrounded by two strong stallions.
"But i'm feeling kind... so i will give you a change to redeem yourself." Spin said and looked at Dash with his eyes glowing more and more orange. Rainbow Dash had never been so scared in her life. She all most felt like crying.
”Bow down! NOW!” Spin yelled at her face and Thunderlane forced her to stand up. She quickly did what Spin had told her to do. Spin and Thunderlane both smiled as she did what they told her to do. Spin Grabbed her head and looked straight down to her eyes.
“Now I want you to promise me that you will do as I say.” Spin said and brought his head as close to Dash’s that he could without them having to touch each others lips.
“I will.” Dash said sounding all most like Fluttershy… She was scared… She was broken… She was being manipulated.
“You will not tell what you heard or saw here and you will be under my command.” Spin said angrily to her.
“I won’t tell what I saw or heard here and I will be under your command.” Rainbow Dash said… She knew that was a huge mistake but she didn’t have any options… If she would have said no who know what the two stallion could have done to her…
“Good… I trust you won’t betray me and Thunderlane… because if you would betray us you would be… Disloyal.” Spin said and smiled devilishly to her.
“I won’t betray you.” Dash said and Spin relised her. She quickly laid down and bowed down and said the unthinkable. “I'm under your command. I promise to be loyal to you.” As she finished saying that he dropped down a single tear realizing what she had done… She wasn’t a element of harmony anymore… She was serving Nightmare Moon and her imperial glory now. She had crossed to the dark side and it felt……. good.
After that Rainbow Dash walked back to her room. She felt terrible. She was holding back tears and her heart was broken… did she just abandon her friends… but Spin said there would be rewards and glory… maybe this wasn’t so bad.
She opened the door and saw Soarin laying in the bed.
“Dashie. Where were you.” Soarin said and looked at her in the eyes. “I was worried that something had happened… Is something wrong?” Soarin asked her as she walked to the bad.
“No… everything is okay… for now.” She said and felt Soarin snuggle up to her from behind.
“You know that you can tell me if there is something wrong.” He said lovingly as he kissed her neck.
“Yeah… I can tell you if something were wrong…” Dash sighed knowing that she couldn’t…
“so do you think she will be loyal to us?” Thunderlane asked.
“She will be loyal to us… after all she is a element of loyalty and we can easily manipulate her with the glory and admiration that will come to us… and if she doesn’t play ball… well we can always just take care of her.” Spin said confidently and laughed.
“Good. So when is Celestia is going to declare the war and try to assault Luna’s castle?” Thunderlane asked.
“Tomorrow. Celestia’s assault to the castle will fail. I ordered the night guard to triple their numbers so Celestia’s army won’t siege the castle. We need to move quickly once the battle is over the night guard has already promised be their support so that once the battle is over we are gonna take Luna in and release her imperial glory.” Spin said and his eyes flashed orange.
“What are we gonna do with the rest of the elements, Flash and Soarin?” Thunderlane asked.
“They will be evacuated before the battle… they won’t stop us… nothing can.” Spin said and laughed.
The next morning Twilight could hear troops marching outside of the castle. She had just awoken and got out of bed and looked at the castles walls and court yard which were full of guards.
“Flash what’s going on outside?” Twilight asked and looked at the bed she had just got up from.
“Who cares just come back here and lets snuggle.” Flash said from the bed. He had just awoken and was still sleepy.
“Flash!” Twilight said angrily and Flash quickly got out of bed.
“Fine. I’ll go and check what’s going on.” Flash said and walked out of the room and saw guards run through the castle.
“Flash what the heck is happening?” Soarin said and ran up to Flash.
“I dunno… Let’s go to Spin and ask him.” Flash said and he and Soarin ran to the throne room where Spin and Thunderlane were looking at some maps and planning an counter attack. Once Soarin and Flash entered the room the mane six walked up to the room behind them.
“What’s happening outside?” Flash asked and walked over to the table that Spin and Thunderlane were planning.
“Celestia and the Royal army have declared war and a going to attack in a couple of hours.” Spin said in a serious tone. Both him and Thunderlane were wearing the Knights of night’s dark combat armour and they were ready to fight.
“What? That’s insane!” Twilight said and walked up to the table. “Why would Celestia want to go to a war with Luna?”
“I dunno and I don’t care.” Spin said and picked up some equipment from the table. “We have already planned out the defense of this castle and a counter attack will be done once the battle ends. Celesti and her army are walking in to a trap.” Spin said proudly and looked at Soarin and Flash. So are you two gonna fight with us?” Spin asked them. They only looked at each other.
“No… I won’t fight against Celestia… I have flown for the wonderbolts for too long to now turn my back on them.” Soarin said and looked at the ground.
“I won’t fight either… I’m a guard for the crystal empire and if they are neutral I will be too.” Flash said and looked at the ground.
“So both of you will turn your backs on our mother… shameful.” Thunderlane said and turned to face the girls. “What about you… will you fight with us… will you be loyal to Luna.”
Loyal… That word hurt Rainbow Dash… she had to… she hadn’t have a choice…
“I will fight with you.” Rainbow Dash said and walked next to Spin with a blank face.
“What… Dashie you can’t…” Soarin said as he saw the love of his life walk to the other side.
“Rainbow Dash are you just gonna leave us?!” Twilight asked her.
“Sorry Twi… sorry Soar...” Rainbow dash said and walked to the armoury room with Spin.
“No… Rainbow Dash… I love you.” Soarin said with tears in his eyes.
“There is a carriage waiting for you outside. It will take you back to ponyville.” Thunderlane said and walked out of the room too.
Soarin was in shock. He couldn’t believe that Rainbow Dash had left him to join Luna’s army… This wasn’t real in his head. His heart was broken… He felt like Spin and Thunderlane had betrayed him by taking Dash away from him… with her his heart was taken away too…
“Soarin! We need to go… We will figure this out later but we need to get away from here.” Flash said to him breaking his thoughts. And with that the mane six, Soarin and Flash got to the carriage and they left for ponyville. The trip was quiet nopony knew what was happening and why it was happening. The silence had been going on for minutes until Twilight broke it.
“We need to do something!” She yelled.
“Yeah but what?” Applejack asked.
“Maybe we should talk to Celestia.” Rarity suggested.
“Yeah. once we get to ponyville I will write to her and we will figure this out.” Twilight said. But Soarin wasn’t hearing her words… only thing he could think was Rainbow Dash and why she would have left him…
“Good I knew you would be loyal Rainbow Dash.” Spin said while smiling as he and Thunderlane circled Rainbow Dash. She felt she had done the wrong decision… she felt terrible… She felt heart broken.
“Now since you are a one of us and a Pegasus I think you deserve this.” Spin said and gave her a suit of armour like he was wearing. It was dark and it had the symbol of the lunar sister on it. He also gave him a sword that was made out of dark crystal like his and Thunderlane’s.
“You are now one of us. You are a knight of night.” Thunderlane said and smiled. “We take care of each other and we serve The lunar sister with loyalty… which I know you will do.” Thunderlane finished.
Dash could see the orange glow in their eyes but it didn’t feel threatening anymore… it felt almost calming… She started to but the armour suit on. Both Thunderlane and Spin were looking at here while she was putting it on. As she put the dark mask on which showed only her eyes she looked into the mirror and saw what she looked like… Dark armour suit with a hood and a cape… a dark sword and a mask… The suit represented authority, strength, glory and loyal service… it made her feel strong… it made her feel good. Better that anything else. She saw Thunderlane and Spin walk up to her from behind as she was loking into the mirror. The walked up to both of her sides and looked to the mirror too.
“I know. it’s looks good right?” Spin said and smiled.
“Yeah… and it feels good too.” Dash said and looked to the mirror. She pulled the mask of her face and saw her face. I didn’t have a look of worry or sadness on it… It had a look of confidence and determination on it. She had awoken… Rainbow Dash was ready to become a real legend now… And with that thought a smile came to her face as she was standing between the two stallions who were smiling too…
As the carriage landed to the front door of Twilight’s castle they saw a couple of royal guards on the front door. The mane six, Soarin and Flash walked in to the castle and saw Celestia standing there with some royal guards.
“Ah Twilight. I was worried that you wouldn’t get out of there before the attack started.” Celestia said as she saw Twilight and her friends walked in.
“What’s going on princess Celestia?” Twilight asked her.
“Luna has tried to get a revolution going but we have decided to strike first and eliminate the threat.” Celestia said.
“Luna wouldn’t have done that.” Twilight said while trying to defend Luna.
“And still she wanted her own castle and her own army and even wanted a bigger army… I have to do this for safety of Equestria.” Celestia said. “I see that you two are still loyal to me.” She said and turned to face Soarin and Flash.
“I stand with the wonderbolts.” Soarin said and bowed down.
“I’m loyal to the crystal empire and their decisions.” Flash said and did the same.
“Both of you will be transferred to Twilight’s personal guard and since your brothers decided to betray us I need you two to be prepared to kill them if you see them again.” Celstia said. “Where is Rainbow Dash?”
“She decided to stand with Luna.” Twilight said and all the others looked down to the ground.
“I see… well any minute now we should have captured the castle and this little conflict should be over.” Celsetia said confidently as a soldier ran in to the room
“Umm your majesty… Our forces have retreated and the Lunar army have pushed us back… they defeated us.” The stallion said.
“What! How!? I want you to organize another attack right now!” Celestia said angrily.
“Umm… half of our forces have gone MIA and the Lunar army had three times more stallions than our intel said… I recommend to retreat and regroup.” The stallion said.
“Fine… Damn you Luna!” Celestia said.
“Captain! The solar army has retreated and we have won.” A member of the night guard said to Spin as he, Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash were walking around the battle field looking at the dead soldiers.
“Good. Get every stallion ready for the phase two and storm the throne room.” Spin said and turned to face Thunderlane and Dash. “You two ready?” Both of them nodded and they walked over to the throne room’s door.
Outside the throne room was about hundred guards and when they were ready Spin opened the door and all of them rushed to the room.
“Captain Spin what is the meaning of this?” Luna asked from her throne as the guards surrounded her.
“I’m sorry Princess Luna but you are not our leader…” Spin said as he, Thunderlane and Dash walked to the throne. “You are a pathetic excuse for a leader.” Spin said and his eyes glow more and more orange.
“Is this treason I’m hearing?” Luna said angrily.
“Luna you are nothing compared to her… just give up the fight. I know that you have tried to suppress the voices in your head… let her control you…” Spin said in a manipulating tone.
“No… you don’t know what you are talking about…” Luna said in shock as she started to hear whispers in her head.
“Give up… there is no reason to fight… become strong and a true leader… release her…” Spin said as Luna grabbed her head and yelled.
“No! Shut up I will not release you ever again!”
“She is who you really are… Luna is just something Celestia always controlled… Nightmare Moon was the one who controlled Celestia!” Spin said and all the sudden a explosion of magic happened and dark smoke was every where.
“Hahahahahahahaha.” A female laughter could be heard. Spin, Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash got to their feet and looked at the pony who was now standing where Luna was a moment ago…
“Your imperial glory.” Thunderlane said and all the guard bowed down. Rainbow Dash could feel this weird feeling inside her… it wasn’t a bad feeling but… it made her feel strong all the sudden.
“Rise my soldiers.” She said as the smoke slowly fainted away revealing Nightmare Moon standing in Luna’s throne. “Captain Spin… or should I say captain Lockhart.” And as Nightmare moon said that name Spin’s eyes went fully orange and it seemed like his body was being controlled.
“Your highness.” A distorted voice came from his mouth.
“And I’m glad to see you too Thunderlane… Or should I say Strickland.” And as Nightmare moon finished that sentence same happened to Thunderlane. Hi eyes glowed orange and a mare voice came out of his mouth.
“Your highness.”
“It’s good to see that you are still alive after being trapped in those crystals for thousand winters. i didn't think that you would survive that spell but here you are... controlling the minds of two stallions.” Nightmare Moon said and turned to Dash. “And what do we have here… Rainbow Dash. The element of loyalty… Well it seems that you have become a knight of night.”
“Yes your highness.” Rainbow Dash said and bowed.
“Strickland, Lockhart. Be careful with those bodies. You can take their bodies over if you think you need to but if there is no need for that just influence their thinking and keep them loyal to me. If you take their bodies over too often for long periods of time I’m afraid their bodies could get broken and you might be destroyed at the same time.” Nightmare Moon said and looked at Spin and Thunderlane.
“We understand you your highness. We will make sure they will be under your service.” And as Spin said that his eyes went back to normal and he fell down to the floor and cried out in pain. Thunderlane did the same too as his eyes went from orange to normal.
“Are you guys okay?” Rainbow Dash asked and helped them up.
“Yeah… Your highness the solar army has ran away and we have already prepared a counter attack.” Spin said as he stood up.
“Good. I want three of you take control of the 501 legion and start to move toward south. We need to take as much land as we can before Celestia and her little pets called the elements of harmony can regroup.” Nightmare Moon mocked Celestia and sat down to her throne. “Captain Spin I trust you know what is out policy on controlling occupied areas?”
“Yes your highness.”
“Good. Now go and expand the borders of the Lunar Empire.” Nightmare moon said and smiled devilishly…
”Dash… why…” Soarin said to himself while crying in his room at the second floor of Twilight’s castle. His heart was broken and the pieces were burned when Dash decided to jump to the other team and leave everything they had… It wasn’t fair. Soarin looked out of the window and saw the retreating solar army. It was only a question of time when the lunar army would reach Ponyville. Soarin knew his brother well… Spin was a military master mind always. Now that he started to think about it he never won Spin in chess… And now Spin too had decided to fight for Luna.
“Soarin!” Flash said and rushed into the room.
“What?” Soarin said and whipped off the tears.
“We are getting evacuated to Canterlot. The Lunar army is here with in two hours. Celestia has ordered us to evacuate Ponyville. Everypony who can should leave before the Lunar army gets here.”
“Its’s been a day since the start of this war how on Luna’s name are they here all ready?” Soarin asked.
“The lunar army has walked right through the royal army… they don’t stand a change against the lunar army. Twilight and the elements have been ordered to go to the Canterlot castle.”
“So we have to move with them too?” Soarin asked Flash.
“yeah… I know its hard for you… you lost your brother and your love for the other side but we need to keep going… maybe someday you can have them back.” Flash said to Soarin and hugged him.
“You are right… let’s go.” Soarin said.
“Spin why are you so blind….” Pinkie said while baking a cake in the sugar cube corner. She couldn’t believe that Spin could not see that he was being manipulated. She only wanted to be with him but now this war was between them and she was afraid that things would only go downhill after the war.
“Pinkie! We have to go now. We are getting evacuated to Canterlot.” Rarity said and walked in.
“Already… Fine let’s just go…” Pinkie said sadly and walked out with her friend.
Twilight was at the train station organizing the evacuation. Celestia had given them one train to use. The train could transport only one third of ponyville’s citizens. Twilight had decided to us the train to transport families with small colt and fillies while rest would have to walk to Chanterlot or to any other town under the control of Celestia. Of course if you wanted to stay you could but the brutal stories about the lunar army were on everyponies mind.
“Is the train full?” Twilight asked Spike.
“There is only the seats for the six of us and for Soarin and Flash left.” Spike said.
“Good get in girls and lets get going.” Twilight said and they left Ponyville. During the train ride they could see the royal army walking towards Canterlot with some civilians. The royal army had only several losses against the Lunar army. Maily because every time things looked good the lunar army surprised them and quickly won. Usually only a few stallions would survive the battle or the lunar army would let go so that they could tell what they had seen… it was always the same story ‘They moved like shadows and were faster than anything I’ve seen before. And those three commanders were unstoppable.’ That was the story every stallion who survived the battles told.
“125.” Thunderlane said proudly while sitting on a table in a pub.
“105 and two commanders.” Spin said proudly.
“137 and four commanders.” Rainbow Dash said proudly and took a sip of her beer.
“How… I guess you are just a natural when it comes to winning.” Spin said and looked at her.
“141 stallions killed by one mare… no wonder they call you the night witch.” Thunderlane said and chuckled.
“Yeah… I guess I’m really the best one of us.” She said in a cocky tone.
“Time to bring your ego down a step newbie.” Spin said and laughed. “This was your first battle and I saved your rainbow tail four times.” Spin said and emptied his beer to his mouth.
“Whatever. What town is next on your path.” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Well we are still waiting on Nightmare Moon’s orders but I think it will be Ponyville.” Spin said.
“Yeah. We finally get to conquer a royal castle.” Thunderlane said in excitement.
“Yeah… a castle…” Rainbow Dash said and her mind started to wonder she remembered the night she spent there with Soarin…
“Dash!” Spin said and cut her out of her day dream. “You okay?”
“Yeah. I just need another beer.” She said hiding her thoughts.
“Okay… well I want you to know that if there is something wrong you can tell us.” Spin said and the orange glow in his eyes went away. Dash had already realised that more the spirit was in control more his eyes glowed... but the spirit in him always made sure he looked after Thunderlane and Dash... maybe it wasn't so bad... The spirits seemmed to give them also times when they weren't in control like now...
“Yeah yeah whatever.” Dash said as a stallion came by the table with a letter.
“Captain Spin. I order you and the 501 legion to attack ponyville and conquer the castle of friendship. After the attack has been successful we believe that the royal army will try to take the town back. Once you have capture the town pillage it and make it an example for the rest of Equestria. After that you and the 501st will be assigned to the Canterlot front so we could take Celestia’s castle and win this war. From Your glorious empress Nightmare Moon. PS. I have approved your request to promote private Dash to the rank of commander and I have assigned her to work under your command as a co-commander with commander Thunderlane.” Spin read the letter out loud.
“Well you heard the orders let’s get moving now.” Thunderlane said and stood up.
“Get the stallions ready to move in to ponyville. We will start attack tomorrow morning.” Spin said to Thunderlane and turned to Dash. “I know it’s hard for you… But Soarin decided to atd with Celestia… he made the wrong decision… he sacrificed everything you two had just to fight with her… you ded the right thing.” Spin said and walked out of the room leaving Dash there to think.
“We both made the wrong decision.” She muttered to herself.
The 501st legion was marching toward Ponyville during the sunrise. Spin, Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash were leading the army and once they entered Ponyville they saw that it was almost abandoned. Only few ponies were still in town and as the army walked in to the town the few ponies left ran inside to hide. They had head the stories. Once the army walked to the door of Twilight’s castle Spin opened the door and walked in.
“Empty… well I guess they ran off to Canterlot.” Spin said and turned to face Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane who were wearing their combat armour.
“What did you expect from royalty. They all ways ran off when the shit hits the fan. That’s why Celestia never stopped any disasters herself. She just ordered the elements of harmony to deal with it.” Thunderlane said and sat down to a Twilight’s seat that was still in there with the cutie mark map.
“I guess you are right… Well let’s get to work. Commander Dash! Order every civilian to be brought here to the castle.” Spin gave out an order to Dash so the she could order the soldiers to go and arrest every civilian left I the town.
“Yes sir.” Dash simply said and walked out of the room.
“I see that she is still loyal to us… do you think she will pass the test?” Thunderlane asked.
“She will pass it… I trust her.” Spin said and sat down to Pinkie pie’s seat. He and Thunderlane just waited until they could hear a lot of noises from the lobby of the castle. They walked out of the room to the huge lobby room to see about 30 civilians and several soldiers there.
“We got them all. Aparantly most of them had been evacuated to nearby towns.” Dash said as she walked over to her captain.
“Good job Dash.” Spin said as the soldiers rounded up the civilians and then Spin walked toward the civilians. At the same time Thunderlane walked next to Dash and just stood there smiling while his eyes started to glow.
“So what do we have here!” Spin said while smiling and looking at the civilians trying to spot his first victim. “You there!” Spin said and picked up an brown earth pony colt from the ground. “What’s your name?” Spin asked in a happy tone.
“Umm… Bu- Button mash…” The small colt said. He was clearly scared for his life but Spin was still just smiling as he held the colt up.
“Why are you here? Why didn’t you ran away from us?” Spin asked him.
“My mom couldn’t afford the trip to Manehattan and we don’t have another place to go.” He said shyly.
“Oh that’s terrible.” Spin said in a sympathetic tone. “But you should have ran away.” He said in a demonic tone and drove his knife to the colt’s belly and pulled it upwards.
“Button!” A female earth pony yelled in horror and tried to run to save her son but Thunderlane stepped in and tackled her and slashed her throat open. Meanwhile Spin was still twisting the knife in the cut he had made to the small colt. The colt was screaming in pain while blood was spilling out of the cut Spin had made to his belly. Then when the colt went unconscious from the pain Spin cut his throat open and threw his lifeless body to the ground next to his mother’s corpse that Thunderlane had sliced up. Both of them were covered in blood and laughing as they turned to Dash. Their eyes were glowing orange as Spin walked over to Dash while Thunderlane went toward the group of civilians who were now scared for their lives and crying in horror. Dash was scared what Spin was going to do to her as he sat down in front of her.
“Dashie…” He said and took a hold of her hoof with his bloody hoof. “To be a real Knight of night you have to see what’s needed to do to keep ponies under Nightmare Moon’s authority…” Spin said while placing his bloody knife to her hoof and closing it making sure she held it strongly. “Make her feel her punishment…” Spin said and Dash could hear a young filly’s scream in the background as Thunderlane was walking towards them dragging a orange filly behind him. She was crying and pegging to him. “She was loyal to Celesia… Give her a punishment that she has to live forever with…” Spin said as Thunderlane threw the orange Pegasus filly to Dash’s feet.
“Rainbow Dash.” She said with hope in her eyes.
“Scootaloo.” Rainbow Dash said in a cold tone.
“I thought I would never see you again big sis.” She said and hugged Dash’s feet not knowing what was about to happen. All the sudden Spin pulled her away from Dash and pinned her against the floor back belly down.
“Do you know what’s the thing Pegasus cares for the most?” Spin asked Dash. “Wings… it’s what makes us different from the earth ponies and unicorns…” Spin said in a calm tone. “Cut them off!” He ordered.
“What?!” Dash said in panic and looked at her little sister who was helpless. She couldn’t do that to her own sister… or to her own kinda sister.
“She is loyal to Celestia! Do it commander Dash!” Thunderlane commanded as he walked behind Dash with his sword drawn. “Unless you are thinking of going against orders which is treason and punishable by the way of death.” Thunderlane said and smiled as his eyes started to glow ever so brightly.
“We aren’t going to kill her if you cut her wings off… sure the pain from that is unthinkable and she wont be flying ever but at least she will be alive to tell the story of the honourable commander Rainbow Dash who was so loyal to Nightmare Moon that she cut her sister’s wings away.” Spin said while smiling. “And if you don’t do it we will kill her and you will be executed for treason.” Spin said in a serious tone. Rainbow Dash couldn’t believe she had to make this decision… Wings are one of the most sensitive parts of the Pegasus body and to go through the pain of having them cut off without any pain medication is unthinkable… But Scootaloo would survive… And if she wasn’t loyal to Nightmare Moon she deserved it. A look of confidence came to Dash’s face as she brought the blade next to scootaloo’s wing joints.
“Please Dash…” Scootaloo cried out before cut off her right wing. The pain that went through her body was so large that she went unconscious immediately after her scream was finished. Blood was coming out of the cut and it flowed to Dash’s hooves… But she didn’t care… Scootaloo deserved this. Spin simply kicked Scootaloo’s face a couple of time so that she would be awoke again. immediately after she was awoken she started to cry. Dash simply grapped her other wing and did the same thing to it with the same reactions… Scootaloo’s wings were on the floor and the small filly was unconscious from the pain laying there bloody.
“Medic! Make sure she survives… but don’t give her any pain medication.” Spin said to the medic that Thunderlane had gotten. “Rest of you finish off these villagers and them burn down this town. We are getting ready to move on canterlot so we are giving this town back to Celestia for free.” Spin said and laughed as the soldiers of the 501st picked up their swords and slaughtered the remaining civilians.
After that the castle’s lobby was a mess. Dead bodies of the innocent on the floor and blood stains on the walls. The floor was covered in blood as the soldirs left the castle and lit ponyville up. The whole twon soon burned away in a hell fire leaving only Twilight’s castle standing since it was made from crystals. As the Lunar army was walking away from the town that was a consumed by fire they knew that the next target was Canterlot.
”Princess Twilight!” A guard yelled and ran through the halls of Canterlot castle.
“Yes what is it.” Twilight asked as the guard stopped in front of her.
“The Lunar army has left ponyville and we have a change to take that town back. What do you want us to do?” The guard said to her.
“We have to take it back.” Soarin said from behind Twilight.
“Yeah this would be the first victory for us in this war.” Flash said.
“Fine we will take the town back. Secure the town and it’s surrounding and wait until me and my friends and commanders Flash and Soarin arrive there.” Twilight ordered and the guard left.
“Why would they give ponyville to us without a fight?” Twilight asked nopony particular but Flash answered.
“I thunk they are moving their forces from the other fronts to the Canterlot front for the large offensive that they are planning. They are about 50 kilometers away from Canterlot and I think our stallions can hold them there for maybe three days.” Flash said to her.
“Well we should get going.” Twilight said. “Get the girls and we are off to Ponyville.”
As the mane six, Flash and Soarin approached Ponyville they could see the rising smoke stacks and the ash that was flying in the wind. As they entered to Ponyville they could not believe what they saw. All of the towns buildings burned down to nothing but memories of happier time… Sweet sugar cube corner… all those parties and dates are now just a pile of ash near the town hall that was still burning. Carousel boutique… All of Rarity’s family’s memories lay down in a pile of ash on the floor. Sweet apple acers could be seen from there and it was gone… The huge barn that the apple family had put up was gone with the old house and most of the apple trees… Fluttershy’s cabin was just a pile of burned flowers and mud filled with ash… all their lives they had lived here and now it was all gone… except the huge crystal castle that stood tall in the middle of the destroyed town. Every pony was holding back tears as they walked trough the destroyed town towards the castle not knowing what would await them there…
Twilight opened the door of the castle and the girls walked in to the dark castle. There was a weird smell in the air and a faint crying could be heard coming from the darkness. Soarin walked towards the light switch but he felt how his hoof touched something cold and wet… He hit the light switch and the lights came on and lit up the room reviling the corpses of their old friends and neighbours. Soarin looked at his hooves and saw that he had hit a young colt’s bloody corpse as he walked in the darkness.
“Oh god…” Twilight said in horror as she saw the bodies inside her castle. “This… is…” She said and turned around to her friends to see that both Rarity and Fluttershy had fainted and Applejack and Pinkie pie were looking at the bodies in horror. Soarin and Flash were walking around the room trying to look if some pony was still somehow alive but both of them saw how the bodies were cut open… they were all dead.
“Soarin? did you hear that?” Flash asked as they turned over the bodies to see if somepony was still alive. But both of them knew this was a lost cause.
“hear what?” Soarin asked.
“It came from here!” Flash said and ran towards the stair case to the second floor and there they saw a little filly crying alone. Her back was bandaged and around her was some bloody medical equipment.
“Twilight! We found somepony alive!” Flash yelled as he and Soarin picked up Scootaloo and Flew to the door where Twilight and her friends were still.
“Scootaloo what happened!” Twilight asked her as the boys brought her to twilight’s arms.
“She took my wings.” Scootaloo cried out in pain and in sadness.
“Who? Scootaloo you must tell me so we can bring justice to these awful ponies.” Twilight said and hugged her.
“Rainbow Dash.” Scootaloo said and cried out even louder. Even she could not believe that Raibow Dash did it but… she did it.
“What? no… I… no.” Twilight could not believe it… Dash would have never done something like this to anypony. “are you sure?” She asked Scootaloo who saw crying.
“yeah.” She simply said. “She and the black stallion from the weather team and the white stallion who was here a couple of days ago with you guys.”
“What! No! Thunderlane and Spin would never do something like this!” Soarin yelled out in disbelief.
“Scootaloo are you sure?” Twilight asked again.
“yes… yes.” she cried out.
Soarin couldn’t take it and flew off the castle to the town’s park or whatever there was left of it. He couldn’t believe this that his brother and his love would have done such a terrible thing… it couldn’t have been.
“Dash…. why?” He cried out as he realised that this had happened and he had to live with this for the rest of his life…
Meanwhile the girls had left the castle taking Scootaloo to a medical tent and ordered the bodies of the innocent to be buried to the back yard of the castle. The stallions of the royal army started on the task but even they could not believe what had happened. Pinkie pie was just looking to the sky where moon was about to rise and the sun was about to set down. She now knew she would never get him back… he was gone for now.
“Spin… You aren’t who I fell in love with any more.” Pinkie said and dropped down a tear.
“The following night was hard. No pony slept well and even thou Twilight was tired and Flash was hugging her she could not sleep very well… until a dream started. A weird dream because she was floating in space.
“What is happening?” She asked herself.
“Twilight. I need you to listen to me. I don’t have much time but you need to make sure that the battle that is about to start in a few day will not be the end for the elements of harmony.” A familiar stallion voice said.
“Night Comet s that you?” Twilight asked and looked around.
“Yes but remember what I said. Don’t let the next battle be the end of the elements of harmony! Remember that friendship and love conquers even the darkest hearts and will turn them in to stars!” Night Comet’s voice said and all the sudden she woke up.
“What’s wrong Twi?” Flash asked her and hugged her tightly.
Rainbow Dash, Thunderlane and Spin were called to the castle of the full moon to meet with empress Nightmare Moon. They knew that she had heard about their victory in ponyville and their successful relocation to the Canterlot front.
As they entered the throne room both Spin’s and Thunderlane’s eyes started to glow. At this point it didn’t bother Dash. They walked towards Nightmare moon who was sitting on her throne and giving orders to other soldiers and generals.
“Ahh Captain Spin and commanders Dash and Thunderlane. I heard about your actions in Ponyville… You did not disappoint me captain.” Nightmare Moon said. She was proud of the trio’s loyalty to her and their accomplishments.
“We are here to serve you your highness.” Spin said and the three of them bowed down.
“Now the next battle will be at Canterlot. I myself will be leading our forces and we will end Celestia’s rule there.” Nightmare Moon said. “I will take care of Celestia while the 501st and the other legions will take care of the royal guard.” She finished.
“What do you need of us then?” Thunderlane asked.
“I need you to destroy the traitors! Kill Soarin and Flash Sentry. They were foolish and chose to stand with Celestia and they deserve death. And also kill off the remaining elements of harmony. Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friend would never join our cause so the need to be killed too.” Nightmare Moon commanded. Spin and Thunderlane saw this as an order and nothing else. The spirits of Strickland and Lockhart were making sure that they would not oppose the order that they were given but Dash on the other hoof weren’t sure… To kill her friends and her love… to kill Soarin… she couldn’t do that… or could she… she already had tortured her sister and had played a part in a war crime… killing her friend and Soarin was nothing compared to those things.
“I assume you too will be ready to kill whoever is needed to be killed commander Dash?” Nightmare Moon asked her.
“Yes your highness.” Dash said confidently. She knew she could kill them… she knew who she was now… a knight of night loyal to Nightmare Moon.
“Good we will start our assault tomorrow at noon. Get back to the canterlot front and prepare our stallions.” Nightmare moon ordered and the trio left.
Soarin was in the great hall of Canterlot castle thinking about his life. He, Flash and the elements were ordered back to Canterlot since Ponyville was gone. Celestia knew that the lunar army would attack sooner or later and she had ordered every division of the royal army to fortify and garrison the Canterlot castle. Celestia had chosen it to be the place for her last stand. It was going to be a brutal fight but Soarin knew that this was going to be either his last battle or the lunar army’s last battle.
“Dashie… I don’t want to kill you.” Soarin muttered to himself as he looked out of the window and saw the lunar army’s camp outside of the castle’s cannons range. The tents were all over the hill surrounding Canterlot castle and Soarin estimated that the lunar army had at least 600 stallions ready to attack and maybe 300 in the reserves. The royal army had lost half of it’s stallions over the fighting and was now only 400 strong. But the lunar forces were trained and they only had victories under their belts and the royal army was demoralized and untrained since most of the veterans were killed in the assault to the Nightmare Moon’s castle.
This fight was going to be the end for one of the armies. But for which one? Soarin didn’t know…
“Twilight!” Celestia said as Twilight entered her throne room.
“Yes what is it?” Twilight asked and walked over to her.
“What are you and your friends gonna do during the battle?” celestia asked.
“Well I don’t think that Fluttershy Pinkie and Rarity are going to be very useful and I have already ordered them to stay safe with Spike in my tower. Me, Applejack, Soarin and Flash are gonna do what we can to help you.” Twilight said.
“Good. Our newest intel says that they will throw everything they got at us. I need you and your friends to protect the grand hall while I will lead my stallions on the field.” Celestia said to Twilight who looked at bit worried.
“Do you think we have a change against them?” Twilight asked.
“I don’t know… only thing we can do is hope.” Celestia said. She didn’t know what was going to happen tomorrow. “You should get some sleep.” She said.
“yeah your right princess.” twilight said and walked out of the throne room.
Pinkie pie was in a huge quest room looking out of the window. She could see the tents and could feel what was about to happen tomorrow thanks to her pinkie sense. She knew Twilight wanted her to stay with Rarity, Fluttershy and Spike but there was somepony who had to be saved… Somepony who she loved… somepony who had become something else.
“Tomorrow I will save you.” Pinkie said to the dark night sky. “Even thou after that I will lose you again…” She said and dropped down a tear.
“But at least we can share one more moment with each other before the inevitable.”
The sun had risen and lunar army was ready to attack. Nightmare Moon herself had arrived during the night and was ready to lead the charge to Canterlot.
“Your highness everything is ready.” Spin said to Nightmare Moon who was looking at canterlot.
“Good. You and commanders Thunderlane and Dash will attack the grand hall of the castle while I take care of Celestia.” Nightmare Moon said.
“I understand.” Spin simply said.
“Start the attack now.” Nightmare Moon said to Spin who then yelled.
“ALL TROOPS FORWARDS!” Spin yelled and 600 strong army took flight and flew towards Canterlot.
Meanwhile in Canterlot Celestia was looking at the lunar army flying towards her castle.
“All ponies take defensive positions!” She yelled and flew to her place on the wall of the castle ready to shoot down the attackers. But then she saw her… Nightmare Moon. She quickly took flight and tried to fly away from the battle. She knew she had to take Nightmare moon away from Canterlot so they could focus on fighting each other.
“Don’t try to run away from me Celestia!” Nightmare Moon said as she chased Celestia towards the valley below the castle. They landed and faced each other. Celestia knew what she had to do… Bannishing her wasn’t enough… She had to die. Celestia shot a beam of her magic towards her but she used her magic to deflect it back at her. She ducked away and tried again but missed.
“You have become weak over the years!” Nighmare Moon said and Shot several beams towards her. She blocked few of them with her magic and flew up from the grassy field. Nightmare Moon tried to hit her while she was flying but missed. Celestia flew above Nightmare Moon and dived towards her. During the dive she shot her magic at Nighmare Moon until she realised that she was going way too fast. She crashed to her and was now on top of Nightmare Moon. She stood up and pierced Nightmare Moon’s cheats with her white horn.
“AHH!” Nightmare Moon yelled in pain as Celestia stabbed her with her horn. She made sure to hit her heart so she would be dead forever. Soon Celestia stopped and looked at Nightmare Moon’s body which was full of small holes made by her horn. Nightmare Moon’s blood was dripping from her horn to her face as she stood there looking at her dead sister.
“It was your fault Luna… it was your fault.” Celestia said to her fallen opponent with hate.
Meanwhile Twilight was in the great hall of the castle Looking at the dog fight going on outside. Several of the royal armys best flyers were dog fighting with the Lunar army and it’s flyers. It was clear that the Lunar army was winning but then the doors flew open and three ponies dressed in dark armour stepped in. Their faces were covered by the combat mask that they were wearing but it was clear who they were. Twilight, Applejack, Flash and Soarin were on the other end of the hall as the trio walked towards them. Two of them had eyes that were glowing fully orange and one of them was a mare that had a confident look in her eyes.
“Captain Spin I expect.” Twilight said coldly and looked at the stallion in the middle.
“Princess Twilight Sparkle. It is good to see you again.” The pony said and removed his mask.
“It is good to see that you won’t hide behind a mask like your friends… Commanders Thunderlane and… Rainbow Dash.” twilight could not believe that she said that. Both Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash took off their masks and looked at her.
“Well I think it’s about time to end this. I’ll take her majesty and the farmer. Thunderlane you dance with Flash and Dashie would you kindly take care of soarin.” Spin said and smiled. Both of them nodded and walked towards their targets.
“Applejack follow me! Soarin and Thunderlane defend the throne room and neutralize them we will lead Spin away from her and them come back to help you two.” Twilight said and them she and Applejack ran off the room. Spin flew after them leaving Thunderlane and Dash alone. Dash and Thunderlane saw that neither Soarin or Flash were wearing any armour. This was going to be easy. Dash and Thunderlane flew toward their targets and tackled them. Thunderlane started to pond Flash’s chest with his fist as Dash tackled Soarin and started to hit him with twelve-to-six elbows to the head causing his fore head to open up. Flash used his wing to block Thunderlane’s strikes and soon got to his hooves and grabbed Thunderlane by his neck and pushed him to the wall. Thunderlane simply gave Flash a kick to the groin which caused him to realise the hold and yell in pain. Thunderlane quickly took you his sword and made a swing towards Flash but he ducked below it and grabbed his hooves pushing the sword towards Thunderlane’s chest but Thunderlane was pushing back hard.
“I’m not gonna let you win this time!” Thunderlane said and pushed the sword close to Flash who was still trying to push it towards Thunderlane.
“I’m sorry.” Flash said and kicked Thunderlane to his groin causing him to lose all focusand allowing Flash to push the sword through his body.
“Ahh!” Thunderlane yelled out in pain as the sword penetrated his chest and came out of his back. Flash pulled the sword out and let Thunderlane fall to his knees. All the sudden a red aura of magick came out of Thunderlane’s chest causing him huge amount of pain. The aura of magic simply vanished soon after leaving Thunderlane’s body. The glow from his eyes were gone and he simply looked at Flash who was holding on to a bloody sword. He felt the pain in his chest and knew this was it…
“I’m sorry Flash…” Thunderlane said and his head dropped to the floor and his heart and lungs stopped moving.
“I know…” Flash simply said and hugged Thunderlane’s body.
Meanwhile Dash was still hitting Soarin who wasn’t doing anything to fight back. Dash stopped her strikes and looked at Soarin who was laying below her with a huge open wound in his fore head. He open his emerald eyes and looked at her magenta eyes and said.
“I love you Dashie and I won’t fight back.” He said and spit put blood. So what if he loved Dash. Dash had already almost killed her sister how was this any different. Just take out your sword and slice open his heart… that he had given to you… slice open the heart that was full of love aimed at you…
“Oh god! What have I done!” The realisation hit Dash and she cried out and collapsed on top of Soarin. She couldn’t believe she had forgotten Soarin’s love to her and did all those terrible things… She cried loudly and Soarin wrapped his hooves around her body and hugged her. Dash had realised what had happened. She had been manipulated, used and betrayed… but ultimately she was the one to be blamed. She had changes to say no but she didn’t… this was her fault…
“It’s okay Dashie… everything is gonna be okay… I promise.” Soarin whispered to her ear as they hugged each other.
Spin entered a darkish library where Twilight and Applejack had ran off to. Only light in the room was the small shades of sun that came from the small windows and the orange glow from Spin’s eyes. He looked around the library and heard somepony sneak behind him. He turned around and hit the pony to her face with his hoof.
“Ah! Twilight help!” Applejack said as Spin knocked her to the ground. All the sudden Twilight jumped down from the sealing but Spin quickly threw her out of the room by picking her up and smashing her body through window. The Spin turned to face Applejack who was laying on the ground.
“Applejack…” Spin smiled devilishly and walked over to her. “I won’t hurt you if you don’t fight it.” Spin said and the glow in his eyes grew stronger.
“W-what are you saying.” Applejack said. she was scared for her life as she looked at Spin who now was right in front of her.
“Don’t scream…” Spin said and turned Applejack to her around so that she was laying on her belly and she wasn’t facing Spin. “Just relax and you will be fine.” Spin said and climbed on top of her.
“No! Please don’t!” She cried out knowing what would happen next.
“I said don’t scream!” Spin said and slapped her.
“That’s not how you should treat mares Spin.” Both of them heard a familiar female voice coming from the door. “At least that wasn’t how you treated me.” The voice said.
“Pinkie…” Spin said and the orange glow fainted a bit and he stepped back from Applejack. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to meet the pony I fell in love with before we would be ripped apart again.” Pinkie said and walked in front of Spin. The glow from his eyes went away completely as they looked at each other but then Spin yelled in pain as the glow returned stringer than ever.
“Spin is dead! I’m in control now!” A voice said as Spin’s body started to shake and sweat. “And I will make him kill you!”
“I know he will not do that.” Pinkie said and walked closer to Spin who was bearly standing. “Because friendship and love conquers even the darkest of hearts. And I won’t let his heart be controlled any longer!” Pinkie said and hugged Spin who yelled in pain. His voice changed constantly as did the colour of his eyes as the spirit and Spin fought for control over his body. “Spin I love you!” Pinkie yelled out and kissed Spin which made a blue aura of magic escape his body through his chest leaving him crying in pain in Pinkie’s arms.
“I’m clad that you had the same dream.” Twilight said as she returned to the room through the window she had gone through.
“Yeah… but I’m still worried about the future… Did Night Comet show it for you?” Pinkie asked.
“No what did you see?” Twilight asked her friend.
“Misery… death… sadness… even thou this is the second last chapter to this story I’m sure there is another story begin from this one’s end… and it’s not a happy one…” Pinkie said and hugged the stallion who was crying in to her shoulder.
Celestia walked in to the grand hall of canterlot castle and saw Flash looking at Thunderlane’s dead body and Soarin hugging Rainbow Dash while bleeding from his fore head.
“What happened here. I thought my orders of killing all of them were clear.” Celestia said angrily while looking at Rainbow Dash.
“She surrendered.” Soarin defended his love.
“Well I guess we shouldn’t kill an element of harmony… after all we might need you still. Where is Twilight?” Celestia asked.
“She ran into the library with Applejack.” Flash said and the four of them walked towards the library. The fighting outside had died down. Celestia was standing right next to them so that had to mean that the royal army had somehow defeated the lunar army. As the four of them walked into the library they could see that Applejack was picking pieces of glass out of Twilight’s body and Spin was crying on the floor while Pinkie was hugging him.
“Princess twilight mind telling me why he is still alive!” Celestia said angrily.
“Princess Celestia. Did we win the fight?” Twilight asked and tried to stear the conversation away from Spin who was defenceless.
“Yes and I killed Nightmare Moon. But that doesn’t answer my question.” Celestia said coldly.
“He surrendered after a magical aura left his body.” Twilight said as a couple of guards ran into the room.
“Fine. But he still has to face justice for what he has done. Guards arrest him!” Celestia said and the guards separated Pinkie and Spin. Both of them had tears in their eyes but the guard dragged Spin away.
“Please let him go! You let Rainbow Dash go free why can’t you let him go free too.” Pinkie begged Celestia but she simply said.
“He was the captain in the enemy’s army we have to punish him! Rainbow Dash is an element of harmony. I will need her later.” Celestia said and left the room. She didn’t seem like she used to be. She was cold.
Spin was laying in a small cold cell as the moon rose high. He knew what was about to happen tomorrow and he wasn’t scared of it but he didn’t want to leave Pinkie again…
“Spin… Spin…” A whisper came from the other side of the jail door.
“Pinkie.” Spin said and ran up to the door. “I’m so sorry about everything… I’m sorry Pinkie.” He said as tears started to flow down his cheeks.
“Spin you know what will happen tomorrow?” Pinkie asked.
“Yeah… please don’t come to see it.” Spin said
“I want to see you before you have to leave me again… even if I have to see you dead. I love you and I will always love you.”
“I do too love you and I will love you even if we will never see each other again.” Spin said and whipped off his tears. “Go now before the guard catch you.” He said and heard how Pinkie sprinted away.
Finally Rainbow Dash was at peace. She could feel the warm body next to hers. She could feel the love between them. She could finally wake up to see Soarin’s loving eyes and his smile. Why did she ever want to leave this behind her? Why did she do the things she did?
“Hey Dashie we should get up and go.” Soarin said as the sun came into the room. “I wanna see Spin before the end.”
“Okay… I love you Soarin and I want you to know that I’m sorry.” Rainbow Dash said and hugged him.
“I know… and I love you too.” Soarin said and kissed her fore head.
Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Flash Sentry and Soarin were all stading in the court yard of the Canterlot castle in a huge crowd of ponies looking at a small wooden stage. On the stage was Celestia and a couple of guards. One of the guard had a huge axe with him and a black hood on. Then he doors of the Castle opened up and two guard walked out with Spin who had changed his outfit from the dark combat armour to the ceremonial armour that Night Comet had given to him. It was just as dark and scary looking. He walked up to the stage and looked at the crowd which yelled at him loudly.
“Today we are gathered here to judge Captain Spin of the Lunar army for his war crimes!” Celestia announced from the stage.
“Off with his head!” Ponies from the crowd yelled.
“I have looked at the evidence and decided that Captain Spin is guilty of crimes against citizens of Equestria and several war crimes.” Celestia said loudly. Pinkie was looking straight to Spin’s eyes and he was looking at hers. Nether of them were afraid of what was about to happen… They were happy that they had spent at least some time together before the end. “And penalty for your crimes is death.” Celestia said and the crowd cheered… well except Twilight and her friends and Soarin who was looking depressed and Flash was scared for Spin. “What do you have to say for yourself captain Spin?” Celestia asked him.
“I love you Pinkie and I will always love you.” He said quietly so only the ponies near the stage like Flash, Soarin, Twilight and her friends and Pinkie could hear it. Then the guards lowered Spin’s head against the headstone and. the judgement of the huge axe came down on his neck… The crowd was quiet… Spin’s headless body fell down to the floor of the stage from the headstone…
“From the moon.” Soarin quietly said looking at his brother’s headless body.
“To the moon.” Flash said and finished the sentence.
The crowd cheered and celebrated while Pinkie was looking at the ground holding tears back.
“Now since the Lunar army escaped and we believe that there is still some ponies who are loyal to Nightmare Moon marshall law will be put on and we will arrest every pony who is suspected of being a supporter of the lunar regime.” Celestia announced. the crowd chanted for celestia and for the victory against the Lunar forces not knowing what was Celestia grand plan…
The following days as the mane six and Soarin and Flash returned to ponyville thousands of ponies were arrested for being a lunar supporter. Even some of their old friend were arrested and sent away to somewhere. No one knew where ponies were sent after they were arrested but rumours weren’t good… some say they were sent to a factory where the colour from their bodies were sucked away to make rainbows… and some say they were sent to work in a mine near the crystal empire… Only thing everypony knew was that Celestia’s forces weren’t arresting ponies who supported Luna or Nightmare moon. They were arresting ponies who Celestia saw as her enemies… this wasn’t the Equestria the mane six used to live… this was a country that was being controlled by one power hungry maniac who used the war as an excuse to make herself a true dictator who ruled with fear like her sister Nightmare Moon.
“Girls… Soarin… Flash… we need to do something this is not the country where I used to live. We live in fear everyday… Celestia arrests every pony who she wants to arrest.” Twilight said and looked at her friend who were sitting around the cutie mark map.
“Yeah but what can we do? Celestia has her army and the Crystal empire is now a puppet government of hers too. We can’t do anything.” Applejack said.
“I don’t know what can we do but I will not be a part of Celestia’s reign of terror!” Twilight said.
“Me neither I’m done with her.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Yeah she is a dictator now days.” Applejack said and Pinkie pie, Fluttershy and Rarity nodded inagreement.
“What about you boys? You with us?” Twilight asked Flash and Soarin.
“You lead we follow. isn’t that your duty.” Soarin said and smiled.
“Great… now we have to figure out how to end Celetia’s rule.” Twilight said and then the Cutie mark map turned on and showed all six curie marks floating over the crystal empire. “And it looks like we will free the crystal empire first!” Twilight said in excitement.
