It's up to Twilight, Sunset, Golden, and Piercing to stop the upcoming war before all hope is lost.
Following the events after A Sunlight Story. Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer face off against the Griffon Kingdom. Now Equestria is in danger and it's up to Twilight, Sunset, Golden Arrow, and Piercing Dart to stop the upcoming war and bring everlasting peace once again to Equestria.
Golden Arrow a new rookie to the Special Forces teams up with Piercing Dart to protect Twilight and Sunset from dangers they will face. Will they succeed or fail.
Chapter 1 - Golden Arrow (Edited By: Knight N Gale)
In the peaceful land of Equestria, there lived many animals and cultures that share diversity and equality amongst one another, and in this very land resides some of the most powerful and gifted of all the known lands that touch the horizon. We now go to Ponyville, home to two Alicorn Princesses, Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer. The two Alicorns share a castle known as the Castle of Friendship. Currently the two are a couple sharing and expressing their love for one another in any way they can. In addition to this they also have guards who are sworn to protect and serve them. One of their personal guards, Flash Sentry, stays by their side day in and day out with his sword held high waiting for anypony to attack.
Being this personal guard grants him the honor of Captain of their entire command at the castle. In the past Flash Sentry developed feelings for Twilight Sparkle and tried numerous times to win her heart but it was Sunset Shimmer who was the most successful. Upon knowing this he stopped pursuing Twilight and met a young mare who loved him.
However there was another guard that both Sunset and Twilight had that was always hidden in the shadows never revealing who he really is. The unknown guard communicates with the Alicorns through telepathy, giving them any information they wanted or eliminating any pony they targeted. So far the guard hasn’t killed anypony but only stunned or paralyzed them in order for the castle guards to capture the pony. Using only darts to take down his targets Twilight gave him the name Piercing Dart, since they didn’t know his name at all.
Inside the castle the two Alicorns were in the throne room talking to each talking about current royal duties that needed to be completed.
“So what’s next Sunset?” Twilight asked levitating a clipboard with her magic.
“Well we have the potential suitors…You still haven’t told anyone that we’re dating?” Sunset threw a small fit with this news.
Twilight placed a hoof on her shoulder, “Don’t worry we’ll just ward them off like it’s nothing or like Flash Sentry when we want our privacy.” Sunset raised an eyebrow.
“So we use a blowtorch?” Twilight hit her on the head for that one.
“Ow…”
“No, we don’t torch them alive, we just kindly say we decline your offer.” Sunset knew that Twilight was only being kind out of respect and that’s one of the things that just makes her adorable to Sunset.
Still staying cool and collective, Sunset became denser as the conversation took its toll.
“So we just be kind to the ponies that want to marry you for your power and wealth. I mean their driven edge is that royalty can only marry rich and other royals.” Sunset leaned back against the throne seat which made her more calm and comfortable.
“Well aren’t you royalty?” Twilight countered.
Twilight was right about one thing though, Sunset Shimmer is royalty seeing as she was raised in royalty under the care of Princess Celestia, the most powerful of all the beings of Equestria and the ruler at that.
“Touché Twilight Sparkle.” Sunset closed her eyes and took a small nap a few minutes later.
Twilight stared down at the mare of her dreams for a moment. She was a beautiful sight to behold. A yellowish-gold and red mane and tail like the sun and the orange glow of a shimmering sunset. The mare before her only snorted a small bit and was all but mute when she slept but Twilight didn’t mind it at all.
Flash Sentry walked into the throne room with the potential suitors walking in behind him.
“Right this way, come on, come on now!” Flash ordered the suitors as they piled in one by one.
There was 12 in total that came today. Twilight woke up Sunset from her peaceful slumber so she can stay punctual while they were here.
Sunset then groaned. “You sure we can’t use the blowtorch on them just at least like, I don’t know. HALF OF THEM!”
Twilight from this point until the end of the suitors became increasingly more assertive.
“No! You will not use any type of instrument of torture on these ponies, now be on your best behavior and maybe I’ll give you a reward when this is over. Celestia you can act like a kid sometimes.” Twilight could go on and on but she stopped there.
“Says the mare that screams over a small book that’s in distress.” Sunset countered under her breath.
“What was that?” Twilight asked looking back at Sunset.
“Nothing mistress…” Sunset quickly said.
Twilight made a small glance at Sunset who showed a cheeky smile to outshine her nervousness. Twilight then faced the suitors who were murmuring to themselves. Some were arguing over who will win who. Twilight then cleared her throat silencing any noise within the throne room.
She spoke loud and clear to where everyone can hear. “Thank you all for coming. Me and Princess Sunset Shimmer will now hear your cases, and if any of us feel that you’re a threat to me or Sunset you will be dealing with Piercing Dart.”
From the shadows came a dart that came right between the suitors to show that not only was Twilight serious, but the guard that was hidden in the shadows of the castle ceiling was serious too.
When the suitors saw the dart come from the ceiling without any trace of a source from sight 10 of them ran out of the castle in absolute horror fearing for their lives.
The remaining 2 suitors didn’t seem to fear the dart that came in front of them in, fact one of them grabbed the dart and examined it.
The suitor who grabbed it tossed it back to Twilight who caught it with her magic.
He then spoke fluently but there was no trace of being fancy at all in his voice.
“Good weapon of choice with the paralysis ladies. Your guard must know his weapons by heart.
Twilight and Sunset nodded in unison.
“Now then, I can stand here and ‘convince’ you girls to marry me but I’m not here to do that.”
Twilight looked at him questioningly. “Then what are you here for?”
“I would like to join your Special Forces along with Piercing Dart.”
Twilight and Sunset exchanged looks then turned back to the suitor.
“Might we have for your name sir?”
He then bow respectfully, “Why of course, my name is Golden Arrow.”
Sunset stepped down from her throne and walked up to the stallion. “Were you ever in any way, shape, or form a royal guard?” Sunset asked.
“No, my father however was, a Captain you can say.” He said.
“Well I’ll tell you what, if you can defeat me we’ll let you join the Special Forces with Piercing. However if you fail then you must leave this place.” Sunset said looking back at Twilight who was getting nervous.
He stepped back to gain some ground. “Challenge Accepted Princess Sunset Shimmer. When you are ready you may attack me. I always give my opponents the first strike.” He said summoning armor that covered his body.
Golden’s armor was all black with grey streaks, on the center of his armor plate was his cutie mark which was indeed a Golden Bow and Arrow. He summoned a bow which he levitated next to him ready for an attack.
Sunset charged her horn at maximum power. Surrounding her was a mix of fire and her own aqua aura. She jumped up and unloaded a fire blast heading straight for Golden Arrow.
Golden Arrow shot the ground next to him and the ceiling above, the two arrows then merged into a wall shield that stopped Sunset’s attack.
Surprised by the action, she was confused on how he can do such magic. Giving him the advantage here he shot three arrows that disappeared.
Twilight was watching this encounter unfold. He was a highly skilled Unicorn who knew such advanced magic then channeled magic into the arrows. It’s smart, very smart.
Twilight looked up and saw the arrows in front and on the sides of Sunset Shimmer. The middle arrow in front of Sunset burst into three smaller arrows which hit Sunset directly to the chest. She fell unconscious making Golden the victor.
Twilight rushed to her aid then looked at Golden who returned to his normal state, his armor depleted. He walked up to the pair then looked down at Sunset who was ‘out of it’ at this point. He chuckled. “Don’t worry Princess Twilight she’s not in any way harmed. I merely just stunned her and knocked her unconscious. She’ll come to in a few hours so just lay her in bed until she comes to.” Twilight levitated Sunset onto her back and walked off to the bedroom. She looked back and smiled.
“A deals a deal Golden Arrow. Welcome to the Special Forces. Introduce yourself to Piercing Dart.” Twilight left Golden alone with the shadow guard.
Golden looked around the throne room. All there was, was silence, complete silence. Golden sat down in the middle of the throne room, waiting for Dart to come out of hiding, but he didn’t.
Golden chuckled to himself. “I know you’re here Piercing… Come out and greet your fellow squad mate.”
No response.
Golden saw a figure standing on a column. It was very hard to see since he was blending so well with the darkness of the ceiling.
“I know you’re there Piercing Dart, come out and let’s be friends.”
Piercing stood where he was in the shadows observing Golden Arrow. Finally some words came out of Dart’s mouth. “If you are my squad mate Golden Arrow, then I guess I have no reason to hide."
The guard who was known as ‘Piercing Dart’ descended from the shadows of the ceiling revealing his true identity to Golden Arrow, his new squad mate. Golden examined him as he stood where he was. Piercing Dart was wearing a translucent armor that changed color with every light that hit it, his cutie mark was a dart piercing through a wall, Golden can see that he was a Unicorn also so at least they shared something in common. Dart’s coat was silver and his mane was black with silver streaks. He was the same height as Golden so that’s another aspect they shared.
Golden walked up to Piercing no words were spoken for a while, just complete silence filled the room. Golden cleared his throat being the first one to speak.
“So you are the Piercing Dart, is that your real name or are you just going with it.” Golden asked sitting down on Sunset’s throne.
“I wouldn’t be on there if I was you Golden Arrow and yes that IS my real name ironically the Princess of Friendship, the brains on that mare is astonishing but she guessed my name correctly.” Piercing found his missing Dart next to Twilight’s throne, levitated the item, then made it vanish.
“I know I shouldn’t be on this throne but our Princesses are busy at the moment so I don’t think they will care as much as you think Piercing. In addition to our Princesses I can say that was a good shot on Flash Sentry poor guy didn’t see it coming.” Golden made the arrows left from his battle with Sunset disappear from sight.
Piercing raised a brow, “How did you find out about that?” he asked.
“I know some guards that saw the whole thing and I know the guy but I’m pretty sure he’s down for the count right now still.” Golden looked in the direction of the hallway where Piercing took down Flash.
Piercing gave out a laugh, “Honestly I thought it will take more to bring him down, by what Princess Twilight said he’s a pretty hard stallion to bring down. I mean, I put about 20 darts into Bulk Biceps before he went down.”
Golden and Piercing shared their stories about their lives and got to know each other as best friends. Piercing showed Golden how to be hidden like he does so nopony can spot you but you can see everything around you. Golden tried that out when Sunset and Twilight returned. The two Princesses were talking while both Golden and Piercing were hidden in the shadows of the ceiling. They’re conversation however could make them be discovered because Golden was chuckling but held in most of it.
“All I’m saying if Pinkie Pie was ‘fixed’ maybe she can use her ‘logical’ powers for more useful things.” Sunset said sitting on her throne. Twilight didn’t seem to buy into it.
“Sunset you and I both know that Pinkie is Pinkie so to actually ‘fix’ her is impossible in more ways than one.” Twilight made a tea cup appear and began to sip on it.
“Well we could always send her to the therapist.” Sunset suggested.
Twilight hit her on the head for that. “No! Bad Sunset!”
“Ow!”
Golden couldn’t take it that was funny he burst out laughing. Piercing then silenced him by surrounding him in a magic translucent bubble.
Twilight and Sunset looked around for the source of the sounds of laugher as they were quickly silenced. Twilight shined a light source across the ceiling but found nopony in sight.
While the girls were searching both Golden and Piercing were in the same spot as they were before they didn’t move at all. Golden tapped Piercing once then whispered.
“Maybe we should reveal ourselves, I mean we do protect them.” Golden suggested about to jump down to the floor in front of the girls but Piercing stopped him.
Golden looked behind him and saw Piercing make a motion gesture to follow him. Golden and Piercing were right above Sunset, she was sitting on her throne and looked like she was bored out of her mind. Twilight was next to her laying against Sunset’s side.
Piercing then whispered. “Follow my lead.”
Golden nodded and followed him down to the floor behind the thrones. Piercing huddled against Sunset’s throne silently unheard by the mares. Golden hid behind Twilight’s throne, Piercing poked Sunset on the wing. She looked to Twilight who was embracing her on her side so she kissed her on the forehead and nuzzled her head.
Piercing then plucked a feather from Sunset which caused her to yelp in pain. Sunset then looked at Twilight, “Did you just pluck one of my feathers Twi?” Sunset asked as Twilight sat up to speak clearly.
“No I didn’t I think you just pinched yourself against the armrest of the chair is all.”
“No she didn’t” Piercing said coming out from behind Sunset’s throne holding one of her feathers.
Since Twilight and Sunset have never seen Piercing Dart they didn’t know who he was.
“Why hello who are you?” Twilight asked noticing that he wasn’t bowing respectfully.
“Pleasure to finally make your acquaintance Princess Twilight and Princess Sunset. My name is Piercing Dart, your Special Forces Squad Leader and your hidden guard.” Piercing stated bowing.
Both Sunset and Twilight froze in place. This guard was Piercing Dart their hidden protector, the one who took out Flash in just three hits.
Twilight stepped down from her throne and walked to Piercing. “Why did you paralyze Flash Sentry?”
“Princess Sunset’s orders.”
Twilight looked to Sunset, “I already explained this to you my love.” Sunset said shrugging.
Piercing then tapped on Twilight to get her attention. “Look Princess the reason why I didn’t show, well me is because that’s how I was trained.”
Twilight didn’t have a choice to believe him or not so she just went with it. “At least let me or Sunset know when you and or Golden are going to ‘blend’ in.” Twilight stated raising her hoof up.
“Of course…Golden did you get that?” He yelled out behind Twilight’s throne where Golden Arrow came out of.
“Yeah I got it Piercing I’ll be hidden so…” He teleported back to the shadows.
“So I have a question for you two actually.” Piercing said walking to Sunset who was now paying attention, Twilight followed him eager to know this question.
“Okay shoot.” Sunset said motioning him to say the question.
“Princess Luna my mentor always used a special phrase or word to call us for an assault or a stealth takedown. For an example, Princess Luna will say “Silent Strike” which means assault with stealth.” Twilight nodded in understanding along with Sunset.
“So you two will decide of what is our ‘special’ phrase or word to attack in a specific way. Don’t worry about Golden he’s listening.” Piercing said waiting for the mares to give him his order phrases.
Sunset stood up and said them clearly. “Keep “Silent Strike” as a Stealth Assault, “Mute” means Silent Takedown, “Hunt” means Kill Target, “Capture” means Hold down Target.”
Piercing was writing the phrases down, “Understood!” He saluted then disappeared.
Piercing was next to Golden this time. “Got all that rookie?” Golden looked at him as if he has gone insane.
“Yeah… I got it”
Sunset and Twilight began to walk outside to Ponyville. Piercing and Golden exchanged looks.
“Come on let’s move.” Golden said pursuing the mares.
Chapter 3 - Some Alone Time (Edited and Verified by: Knight N Gale)
Ponyville is as peaceful as it was during their previous adventure. Twilight and Sunset ventured into the main street of Ponyville where it’s the most populated. Following behind them on rooftops camouflaged by the elements of the environment and nature was Piercing Dart and Golden Arrow.
However, they were alerted when they spotted a certain pink pony quickly making her way towards Twilight and Sunset.
“TWILIGHT SPARKLE AND SUNSET SHIMMER!!!” Pinkie yelled rushing towards them.
Without time to react Golden shot an arrow at the pink pony. Pinkie didn’t see it coming it and it struck her on her left foreleg completely incapacitating the mare. The arrow, while straight through was a standard flint tip arrow. However when the arrow hit Pinkie it pierced through her foreleg ripping skin and cutting the veins, arteries, and muscles of her leg only leaving a trail of blood and some tissue extracting from the wound.
Piercing Dart looked at Golden Arrow, Golden had his bow drawn ready for the second shot but he lowered it once Pinkie went down.
“Amazing shot rookie, but I think you did more than just incapacitate her.” Piercing squinted his eyes to see the scene at hoof. Golden definitely destroyed her leg with that arrow.
Sunset and Twilight rushed to her aid, Sunset surrounding her in a medical bubble similar to the one she put Rainbow in when she broke her wing when they officially met.
Twilight tried her best to remove the arrow but no luck the only pony to do that is Golden.
She then turned to Sunset her expression was nothing but anger, “Bring them here now!” Sunset nodded looking for Piercing and Golden.
Golden looked at Sunset trying to scope them out. “I think they’re looking for us.”
“You guessed right rookie.” Piercing exclaimed walking towards Sunset. Golden followed him bow drawn.
Once Sunset spotted them she ran over to them giving them a heads up before they faced Twilight. “Just letting you know you took down an element bearer. That was the Element of Laughter. Her name is Pinkie Pie but you both sort of took the initiative of she was trying to attack us. While I thank you two for doing what you did, Twilight doesn’t find that the slightest bit of amusing.” Both nodded in understanding.
They went to Twilight who looked at them as if she was trying to harm them with her eyes but they weren’t fazed since Sunset gave them the warning.
“Do you know what you two did!?” Golden made the arrow disappear then spoke.
“We only did what we are tasked to do, which is to protect you and Princess Sunset. We thought that she was going to attack you the way she was running towards you. We are sorry for attacking an Element Bearer, but again we serve to protect you two so it was in defense.” Piercing said.
“Well, I’m glad to see that you two can defend us from such a distance but bear in mind that there are 6 Element Bearers. She is one of them as am I. So unless we call for you then don’t proceed with an attack okay?” Twilight was calming down.
“Yes ma’am…” They said in unison.
Once Sunset and Twilight healed Pinkie Pie of all wounds they looked behind them to see if both Piercing and Golden were there but just like before they were gone the instant they turned their backs. Twilight facehoofed. “Those two will be the death of me.” Sunset laughed at Twilight’s sorrow.
“They did me a favor.” Sunset commented receiving yet another slap to the back of the head.
“Bad Sunset.” Twilight said annoyed.
“That felt good Twilight hit me again.” Sunset said seductively.
Twilight’s wings sprouted out and a tinted red blush appeared on her face. “No…” is all she could mutter out.
Pinkie got up from the ground that the bubble dropped her off at. She wiggled her left front hoof to make sure she was okay. She had the biggest smile on her face that was both funny and sadistic at the same time. Both Twilight and Sunset backed up slowly walking away from the Pink Pony who had the smile still on her face.
Sunset glanced at Twilight then back to the path where they left Pinkie. “I stand corrected Twi, she's 100x more worse than I originally observed.”
Twilight gave a laugh as they went back to the castle. “This is one of those moments that Pinkie is just insane for the sake of being insane. It’ll pass…Whenever it does.”
Inside the castle, Golden and Piercing were already there sitting on both of their thrones. This didn’t anger the two mares, well not sunset, she found it funny but Twilight was annoyed beyond reasoning.
“Off you two and go back into the shadows. I’m going to take a nap from all of this. Wake me when it’s dinnertime or if Princess Celestia needs us.” Twilight said.
Sunset was about to tell them an order but she was being pulled by Twilight’s magic. “Twi. Twi. Twilight! You’re pulling me. Twilight! TWILIGHT!!!” Sunset was practically shrieking from being pulled along with Twilight by force.
“Guys a little help here.” She called out to Piercing and Golden who didn’t respond to her cries.
Golden answered for both of them. “We’re conflicted here. We will be going against our oath if we attack just one of you.” Sunset knew that they were right.
Twilight entered the room and put Sunset on the bed while she followed suit. Sunset wasn’t sure why she wanted her in the room but she didn’t bother arguing as she saw Twilight get under the covers and turn away from her.
Sunset slipped under the covers with her, embracing her while she slept. Sunset herself wasn’t tired but she didn’t like to see Twilight mad either. Twilight was still awake but her mind was somewhere else. She began to recall today’s events in a nutshell: Golden is the new Special Forces squad mate, Pinkie gets hit with an Arrow from Golden, and now she’s here laying with Sunset who was kissing her on her cheek and neck softly trying to ease her stress.
Twilight allowed her to do whatever she wanted to her. Sunset took that initiative and began to kiss down from her neck to the upper part of her wing. Sunset could easily tell that Twilight was really in deep thought because she would’ve reacted to what she was doing by now. But still Sunset took advantage of the situation and continued her work on Twilight. Planting each kiss on a very specific spot along her body, tracing further down unknowing that she was reaching Twilight’s ‘Special’ place. But Sunset didn’t seem to notice and even if she did she wouldn’t care.
With Twilight however it was like a walk on Cloud 9. Feeling Sunset kiss down her body excited her but she held all of it in, not wanting to show off. Fighting these feelings proved to be most difficult as Twilight was clenching the bed sheets when Sunset had gotten lower and lower by the second. The last kiss she felt on her body was just above her flank where her cutie mark sits. Twilight couldn’t take it anymore and was about to turn around and kiss Sunset to continue but she felt something soft and wet against her flank: Sunset’s tongue. It traced along the outer part of her cutie mark which caused the Princess of Friendship’s wings to spread out, causing the bed sheets to fling off the bed. Sunset backed up just in time to evade the wing. Twilight laid on her back and let her wings spread out completely which was a relief for her.
Sunset gave her a soft kiss on the lips and deepened the small gesture allowing each other to explore one another as they had their small make out session. But this session ended rather quickly as Sunset continued where she left off.
Sunset traced each white star on Twilight’s Cutie Mark on her flank with her tongue while Twilight let out a somewhat loud moan in pleasure. Sunset was really close to her marehood now.
Unaware that both Piercing and Golden were listening in behind the door. “Are they under attack or something?” Golden asked getting ready to breach.
Piercing stopped him. “They’re not under attack, they are simply doing what couples do when they love each other.”
“You mean sex?” Golden asked, Piercing nodded.
“Then why are we here? Let’s give them some privacy.” Golden left the location of the door with Piercing following him. They went to go prank spike.
The two lovers were soon at a stalemate. Sunset was pleasuring Twilight in more ways than one. Finally Twilight had enough teasing. Twilight lifted up Sunset’s chin so they were eye-eye. “Sunset Shimmer, I trust you, I love with all my heart and I want you and only you.” Twilight’s words were sincere.
Taking the proper course of action, Sunset gave Twilight a tender kiss before trailing down Twilight’s body, more quickly, to her goal at hand. As soon as she reached Twilight’s flank she began to spread out her hind legs revealing Twilight’s marehood which was practically soaking in its own juices. Even though Sunset was already nervous as it is, she couldn’t help but joke around to both ease the tension and ease her mind even though she herself was heated.
“Well somepony is excited aren’t they?” Sunset asked giving a somewhat obvious nervous smile.
Twilight just stared at Sunset with both excitement and anger, the burning red blush she had on her cheeks defeated her anger. Seeing this she placed her hoof just above her marehood, this caused Twilight to jolt up from her position then back down onto the pillow where her head was.
Sunset couldn’t help it. She was beautiful, everything about her was. Twilight just gave her permission to take her virginity even though she herself is a virgin also.
Sunset began to trace her hoof down Twilight’s marehood doing a ‘check’, however Twilight was moaning rather loudly from this simple action. Sunset looked up to see that she was waiting for the true moment.
Twilight looked down at Sunset who was still nervous at this entire ordeal. Sunset looked at Twilight who had an expression that said: “Go ahead.”
Sunset gave a big sigh and proceeded with it all. She began to trace her tongue from the starting point of her thigh all the way down to the tip of Twilight’s marehood. Sunset now blushing violently, lightly licked the outer wall of Twilight’s slit, giving Twilight a taste. She liked it, it was sweet, very sweet. Piercing, Golden and Spike were in the kitchen just down the hallway of the room when they all heard this.
They all looked into the direction of the room.
“Uh, what was that?” Spike asked cooking some hay burgers.
“If we told you, you wouldn’t look at Twilight or Sunset the same way again.” Piercing said sipping some juice.
Flash walked into the room with the guys. “Looks like Sunset is dominating Twilight.”
“Yeah, but how long she can keep that up is beyond us.” Golden said.
In the room of the two lovers, Sunset was eating out Twilight, licking her in and out giving Twilight a double-edged experience. She was moaning and groaning with every sexual pulse that was sent through her body. Twilight couldn’t help herself as she grabbed Sunset with her hoof and pushed her further inside, deepening the sensation. To Sunset though, she was enjoying Twilight’s taste, but she wanted to add a sort of style to her work. “OH MY GOSH SUNSET YOU ARE SO GOOD!!! KEEP GOING I’M SO CLOSE!!!” Twilight yelled out.
Piercing, Golden and Flash were now taking bets on it all. “50 bits says that Twilight breaks in 2 minutes.” Flash said.
“75 says in 5 minutes.” Piercing exclaimed.
“1 minute and 30 seconds on 100 down.” Golden said.

So if you wish to punish us then go ahead.” Piercing spoke truth and nothing but truth. They did hear them all the way from the kitchen.
Twilight looked at the three stallions, they did agree with Piercing so she came to a conclusion. “There will be no punishment just knock on the door 3 times if we get to loud.” Piercing nodded it off and went back to the group.
Flash walked over to Sunset and nudged her. “You win Sunny, you actually got some and by the sounds of it you were slaying it. Nicely done.” Flash congratulated the mare on her first time. Sunset knew that he was right, Flash Sentry was gone. She looked to Twilight who was trying all her best to revive him but the situation was useless. She was crying over his dead body. It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. She should’ve known that the darts will kill him the closeness of both Piercing and Flash were to compact for it to just be a simple takedown. “It’ll be okay Twilight it was an accident no one knew that this will happen.” Both Twilight and Sunset never have seen death before in such a manor so it was only acceptable to act this way especially if the pony was close to you.
Sunset took Twilight to the throne room she asked Piercing and Golden to leave them alone for a while.
Piercing saluted and walked back to Golden who was examining Flash Sentry’s body from where he sat. “You do know you could’ve subdued him by hitting his flank 3 times. The paralysis potion within each dart wouldn’t took effect through the same means but just more slower.” Golden commented as he sat down.
Piercing looked back to the body. “I could’ve but that wasn’t how I was trained. I was trained to hit the neck, body and flank at once.”
“Understandable.”
Suddenly rushing into the kitchen came a standard royal guard of both Sunset and Twilight. Golden stopped him before he could enter the throne room.
“What’s your business?” Golden simply asked but the guard was trying to get passed him without answering or even speaking at all. Golden tripped him then pinned him to the floor with his bow drawn, the guard froze in place fearing the worst to come. “Listen here you little shit! You will answer my question until I reach some satisfactory results out of you do I make myself clear?” Golden pulled the bow back more to show that he was serious.
The guard got up and spoke firmly. “Sorry Major but I have to deliver this letter to Princess Sunset and Princess Twilight.” Piercing levitated the letter to him.
The guard tried to stop him but failed. “Major Piercing sir you can’t read that it’s extremely confidential and can only be read by the Princess to whom it was designated to.” The guard rushed at him to grab the letter but Golden tripped him once more.
“You will leave this area and resume your post we will deliver the letter ourselves.” The guard bowed to them and ran off not wanting to deal with them both.
Piercing opened the letter and read it to himself. “So Golden?” Piercing asked looking at him.
“Hmm?”
“How do you feel about traveling to the Griffon Empire?”
Piercing and Golden went to the throne room. They searched for Sunset and Twilight but they couldn’t be found. Golden sat on Sunset’s throne in defeat.
“Okay I give where are they?” Golden asked still looking around from where he sat.
Piercing was starting to get annoyed. “I don’t know but we better find them soon it’s our job to watch them and so far we’re failing at it.”
“True…”
Unaware that both Sunset and Twilight arrived back at the castle with some Ice Cream Sundaes. The girls watched both Golden and Piercing searching and practically turn the castle upside down. Twilight sighed and put them both in a magic bubble and levitated them to her.
“Oh.” Is all Piercing said, “Well we found them.”
“Yes you did found us good work you two and for that you can help us take these bags to the kitchen.” Sunset said dropping the bags on their backs.
“Since went did we become slaves here?” Piercing asked putting the bags on the dining table.
“I Thought Spike was the slave.” Golden suggested watching the young drake scrub the floors of the castle.
Spike didn’t pay attention to them at all he was lost in his own world within his mind. Twilight however wasn’t pleased by hearing that. “Spike’s not a slave he’s my number one assistant.”
“Oh Princess Twilight this letter came in for you.” Piercing tossed the letter to Twilight who caught it with her magic and began to read it over.
“Princess Celestia requests us to go to the Griffon Kingdom? Sunset the letter says that you can read the rest.” Twilight levitated the letter to Sunset who read her part of it.
“Piercing and Golden I need to you be guarding us 34/7 for this journey I don’t know what the Griffon King wants but I can tell it’s something very serious.” Twilight ordered.
Piercing and Golden summoned their Combat Armor and prepared for the road the lies ahead, sharpening their weapons and adding some extra items to give them an boost to eliminate a threat more quickly. Sunset put the letter on the table and spoke shortly after. “Twilight do you remember what happened to Discord?”
Twilight nodded, “Yes he was destroyed by Celestia’s magic blast not too long ago.”
Sunset put her hoof to her chin. “She’s stating to us that Discord survived and the blast directly hit the griffon kingdom’s outer wall. Discord managed to mind control the Griffon king to go to war with Equestria.” Piercing and Golden came out of the other room battle ready after hearing this.
Twilight gasped at what Sunset said. “How is that possible?” She asked.
“I don’t know but if we don’t act now there won’t be another opportunity like this.” Sunset grabbed Twilight and rushed her to their room to get ready.
Piercing just realized when the girls left that Flash Sentry’s body was still in the kitchen. They went over to the corpse the picked him up using their magic equally. They went outside and created a large hole and dumped the body inside then sealing it afterwards.
“You want to say some words?” Golden asked.
“No, I think he this was going to happen.” Piercing said leaving the burial site. Twilight and Sunset got out the castle with their saddle bags full of various items ranging from bits to a map for traveling.
Spike ran out of the castle as they began to walk. “Can I come with you Twilight you never know when you’ll need your ‘Number 1’ assistant?”
Twilight looked back at the drake then back to Sunset and their guards. “I don’t think it’s safe for you to come with us Spike, you’re better off here.” She concluded.
Spike hanged low in sadness and went back into the castle. As they were walking Sunset looked over to Twilight. “You know we could’ve brought him along.” She said.
Twilight waved it off. “Yes I know, but it seems that this is too dangerous to something for Spike to get involved in and I don’t know what I would do to myself if something horrible were to happen.”
“He’s not a baby dragon anymore Twi.”
Sunset had a point he was now up to her height and his voice has gotten deeper, but still she left him behind and they can’t turn back now.
Twilight, Sunset, Piercing and Golden arrived at the Ponyville Train Station, as they got their tickets the rest of the Mane 6 arrived as well.
Piercing and Golden got into defensive stance in front of the two Princesses blocking any contact from them to any of their friends.
“Princess give us the word and we’ll deal with them.” Golden said bow drawn ready to fire.
Twilight rolled her eyes and put her hoof out in front of both Piercing and Golden so they will lower their weapons. “These are my friends and also the rest of the Element Bearers.” Twilight stated standing next to them.
“So what are you guys doing here?” Twilight asked as Rarity grabbed a letter out of her saddle bag.
“Well Darling, we’re coming with you on your journey to the Griffon Kingdom!”
Twilight’s jaw hung low as she saw nods from the rest of them.
“And plus we will never leave our Friend behind.” Rainbow Dash said doing a flip in the air.
“Rarity looked around Twilight and noticed that Flash Sentry wasn’t with her or Sunset. “Where’s Flash Sentry Twilight?”
Twilight looked away and huddled against Sunset who comfort her by padding her back. Piercing stepped in front and explain his current situation.
“Flash Sentry is not with us anymore.” He said calmly.
Rarity looked confused, but Apple spoke next. “What do you mean ‘not with us anymore’?”
Piercing sighed, “He’s dead.”
Silence, complete and total silence came from that train station from that group of ponies. Words weren’t spoke at all for the next minutes until the train arrived. The rest of the Mane 6 were in shock of how he said it so calm and have no sympathetic emotion to it.
“I can’t believe it…” Fluttershy said tears now forming from her eye.
“Well I can, maybe if he wasn’t so persistent with Twilight and all maybe he be still alive, I mean like come on he deserved it to an extent but seriously-“ Piercing put Pinkie to sleep with one of his darts to her neck.
“Shut the buck up already!!!” He barked while the Pink Pony was out cold. The Rest of the Mane 6, Sunset, Piercing, and Golden were on their way to the Griffon Kingdom unaware of the true dangers that they will face along their path.
Pinkie Pie came to an hour later while the train was stopped at Canterlot. The rest of the Mane 6 and Sunset were waiting for the train to proceed to the Griffon Empire 2 stops ahead. The girls seemed bored so Piercing and Golden took advantage of the situation and decided to go see Princess Celestia. The train won’t be moving for another 2 hours so the two only went to go see her while the rest stayed behind.
When Piercing and Golden arrived they were greeted and saluted by the Royal Guards that were currently outside the front of the castle.
“Greetings Majors!” They saluted.
Golden entered the throne room where Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were sitting on their thrones, they were chatting with Princess Cadence. Piercing and Golden waited for them to finish, however Celestia saw them then told Cadence to hold on for a second.
“Greetings Piercing Dart and Golden Arrow!” They both bowed before her out of respect.
She bowed back but only slightly. “What brings you two to Canterlot I thought you were assigned to Twilight and Sunset?”
“We are your highness but our train has been delayed at the Canterlot stop for 2 more hours so we decided to stop by.” Golden stated pointed out the window towards the broken down train. Celestia put her hoof to her chin in thought.
“Follow me.” She simply said.
Both Guards followed Celestia to the train station the conductor and the engineer were looking over the blueprints of the train’s engine, they didn’t notice Celestia or the guards get on the train, not even the girls noticed. However they did hear Pinkie Pie ramble on and on about Cotton Candy.
“Lemon Cotton Candy is the best, I made come on all the lemony goodness of it and it’s so yellow and and…” Pinkie fell back unconscious.
The girls looked to the direction of the dart that hit her and it was Piercing who was in a throwing stance while behind him was Golden and Princess Celestia. The girls gasped when they all saw the three came onto the train cart.
Princess Celestia examined Pinkie Pie for a minute and waved it off, she looked back at Piercing. “You know that was uncalled for.” She said acknowledging their mistake.
Piercing bowed once more, “Sorry your highness but there’s only so much you can take of that Pony before you just have to put her down.”
“Noted…” Celestia said, “Now girls I must tell you about the Griffon Empire before you proceed forward on your quest.” They all gathered around the While Alicorn awaiting the story.
“The Griffon Empire is not just a happy-go place there is famine, war, and terrible things that happen within their own grounds of territory. Manifest Destiny is their Number 1 priority and what I did when I hit their wall with that blast I called a global war that can effectively eradicate all of Pony-kind. Remember they are ruthless and relentless creatures who put their pride above their own safety. If you really need to deadly force is authorized.” Celestia looked to Piercing and Golden when she stated that comment.
“However you won’t really need to use such force as they invited you for peace, however there are rebels who oppose against the king and will do anything to kill him and take his place. You will notice them in a Red, Yellow and Black colored armor type. The Royal guards who protect the king and his kingdom alone are marked with just straight blue armor. Remember only attack if your life is threaten. You will have to get off the next stop as the Griffon Empire’s station is completely destroyed from the rebels.” They all nodded understanding the mission.
“You are there to let the king know that we meant no harm or intent of war when we shot at his wall. This is just simple peacemaking and shouldn’t escalate into any more conflict.”
“If the king is harmed or killed during this mission you are to get out of the Empire as quickly as possible. Do you understand the task at hoof that I’m now ask upon you?” They all nodded.
Twilight got up and spoke for all of them. “Princess you can count on us to complete this mission we will return safely.” Celestia nodded off and left the train cart. She looked back before the train began to leave.
“Good luck my little ponies.” Celestia teleported away. “You’ll need it…”
The train made its way past the Canterlot stop and onward to the next stop from there on they will have to walk the path to the Griffon Kingdom unsure of the current situation they went with it as they won’t be completely alone. They have each other for comfort and Golden and Piercing for protection while themselves and defend each other. The perfect crew for the most dangerous quest.
The train ride, similar to how it was broken down at Canterlot was long and boring to its next destination. However what was suspicious to Piercing and Golden was how they were the only ponies in the train as a passenger. Piercing got up to make an announcement the rest starred at him while he spoke with no interruptions.
“Okay everypony, don’t you find it odd that WE are the only ponies aboard this train?” Piercing asked getting some mixed answers within the crowd. He rolled his eyes in frustration.
“Never mind I’ll go talk to the conductor.” Piercing left the train cart leaving the rest alone Golden didn’t bother following him.
“So ladies...”
“NO!!!” They all yelled at him.
“You all don’t even know what I was going to say.” Golden pouted.
“Fine, we’ll hear your request.” Twilight said putting down a book.
“Truth or Dare?” Golden asked.
“NO!!!” They repeated in unison.
“Never-I-Ever?” Golden requested again
“NO!!!”
“Pony-Hunt?” Golden was running out of games to play.
“NO!!!” They repeated once more.
“Would you consider to just sit in a circle and talk about our daily lives?” Golden’s ‘Final Solution’.
“You mean our personal secrets that won’t leave this train cart?” Sunset asked.
“Yes.” Golden stated motioning the girls to get in the circle with him.
So after some force and some pressuring the girls formed a circle and the one to tell the secrets would be in the middle of the circle similar to a spotlight being paced upon them. Sunset went first… (What can go wrong?)
“Okay Sunbutt is first.” Yelled Rainbow Dash practically bouncing out of her seat similar to Pinkie Pie’s hyperactive self.
Sunset being put in the middle of the circle didn’t help her situation however being surrounded by friends and her loved one made it seem as if they were at a party and they were just talking casually.
“Okay deep secret… Let’s see… Sunset pondered at her thoughts but some were TOO PERSONAL to be discussed however Golden can tell that see was trying to avoid what happened this morning. He gave out a sly smirk as he poked the bear in it cage, roughening it up.
“So Sunset care to explain a secret that I and Piercing know about that you don’t want to talk about?” Golden was going into wrong territory but he didn’t seem to care, he was having too much fun with this.
Sunset’s body turned white from hearing this she knew that he and Piercing knew about her and Twilight’s ‘moment’ together. This made the current situation overwhelming for her as she was caught in a trap set by Golden. “No words eh? Fine I guess I’ll say it if you won’t Princess.” Golden offered but she put her hoof out.
“I’ll say it since you are so eager to know Golden Arrow.” Sunset said in the most firm voice she can deliver out but in reality she was both scared and nervous at the same time. She looked to Twilight who didn’t seem to be paying attention so she took to opportunity to tell them before she could make sense of the conversation.
Sunset gave a big sigh then spoke clear and monotone, “Twilight and I engaged in some ‘activities’ this morning. It was very… Wonderful, I cannot express or begin to explain the situation but all I know is that even though I did literally most of the ‘work’ in the ‘activity’ It was special to both me and Twilight.”
There she said it but she smiled as if relieving a large weight off of her shoulders she just needed to branch it out to somepony a clear mind for Sunset was joyous in her own favor. However it was short lived when she got confusing looks from each and every pony in that room excluding Golden who was laughing at how she explained it.
Rainbow sat up and spoke for the group. “So you two courted?”
Sunset’s jaw hung open, ‘How did she know what courting means?’
Sunset was about to speak out loud in a frantic manner but kept her composure; calm and collected. “Yes.” Was the only word she muttered out respectfully while she wanted to speak other words but they were too ‘explicit’ for this type of conversation.
Twilight over heard the conversation and hid her blush from the girls and guy in her book burying her face in the book she was reading.
Rainbow Dash put a hoof on Sunset’s shoulder, smiling, “Biggest milestone that any of us could reach right now good job the both of you and congrats on your next level of your relationship.”
Again it was now Twilight’s turn to drop her jaw… Rainbow spoke perfectly calm and collected, no dumb response, no vulgar word to be found in any word that she said just now, it was as if she wasn’t Rainbow Dash at all.
Pinkie jumped in front of both Twilight and Sunset as Sunset returned next to her mate. “So Sunset, how was she in bed? Was she good and tight?”
Silence if there was one word to describe what happened after that was complete silence. Golden looked down at himself and saw something that he didn’t want the others to see he covered himself with a nearby pillow. The girls were confused but then they turned their attention to Pinkie Pie who was on the ground next to Twilight with a stun Arrow to her neck, sending pulse after pulse of electricity through her body paralyzing her.
“Thank you.” Twilight said examining the unconscious Pinkie before her. She was alright for the most part.
Piercing came back from the front of the train shortly after. He examined the scene that was before him. Golden hiding his ‘member’ with a pillow, Pinkie unconscious next to Twilight with an arrow in her neck pumping electricity into her, and the rest of the girls confused and attempting to get the arrow out of Pinkie Pie. He sighed and sat on the corner of the room watching the scene unfold. Piercing was about to speak went he notice a few griffons flying next to the train. The rest of them observed them as they flew closer and closer to the train cart.
Piercing then remembered what Celestia said during the briefing.
“Yellow and Black represent rebels, they are a threat to you, use deadly force if nessecery. Blue are Royal Guards they are good, they will protect you with their life if you show no harm to them.
He looked at their markings and armor color. Yellow and Back… Piercing drew out his dart ready to attack he disappeared from the train cart unknown to his location by the griffons outside and the ponies inside. Golden saw how Piercing disappeared, these Griffons opposed as a threat. He summoned his combat armor and disappeared along with Piercing following his magic source. Once found Piercing told Golden to get down and wait for them to do something.
Just how Piercing awaiting for them to attack they did on cue. They began to ram the cart with such force that caused the entire train to derail of the tracks. The girls inside were screaming bloody murder as the train flipped to its side and skidded along the dirt. There was an explosion at the front of the train, the engine room, the girls were panicking around the lopsided train cart the rebel griffons were about to attack the girls until a few darts stopped the griffons in their tracks. They looked around but saw no source of the weapons jabbed into the dirt in front of them.
Three more darts came this time they didn’t see it coming from the left side. One dart began to rotate rapidly mid-air, when it hit one of the griffons it completely destroyed his wing entirely, shredding the bones within. When it hit the skin that was the fatality. The dart, stilling rotating, within his body teared through the tissue with ease and ripped through the bones, and any vital organ that was in its path. The death of the griffon that was hit was instantaneous.
Golden shot three arrows in the air above them. They dropped at high speeds then each split into three more making 9 arrows rain down hitting the rest of them causing both lethal and severe damage to each griffon their death was longer and more painful as they tried to remove the arrows from their bodies.
The girls exited from the wrecked but was stopped by one last griffon who was determined to kill the two Princesses. As he was about to lunge the girls braced for the worst but they each took a peak and saw a more larger dart through his neck, the blood exiting the griffon’s body was similar to a small geyser sprouting out. The griffon fell to his side dead. Golden and Piercing re-appeared in front of the girls combat ready.
“We need to keep moving I’m not sure that’s the last time we’ll be meeting their kind.”
The girls didn’t argue and follow closely behind Golden and Piercing weapons drawn, acting as mobile sentries to protect the girls on their path to the Griffon Kingdom.
The dirt road wasn’t all that bad however it would’ve been more peaceful if Rarity didn’t complain as much. She was complaining about usual stuff, her hooves hurting, she needs more attention, so on and so forth. Piercing was about to hit her with a stun dart, pulling the dart out in full view ready to strike but Twilight put a hoof on his arm and gently lowering it pretty much saying: “No, it’s just how she acts.” Piercing sighed and put away the weapon. He looked ahead and saw a large mountain a few miles ahead.
“I’m guessing we need to climb that?” Piercing asked. Not that he cared but he needed to know so he can prepare from ambushes or any other threats along the way.
“Hey Piercing come here and check this out.” Golden called out causing everypony to stop in their tracks to look in his direction. Piercing walked over to him and saw the dead griffon.
“Yeah so he’s dead.” Piercing was getting more annoyed.
“Yes I understand that Piercing but check this out.” Golden pulled a glove off the griffon and put it on. When he put it on a seemingly large dagger appeared out of the glove’s palm then it retracted back into the glove. Golden tossed him one which Piercing put it on and tested the newly found weapon. He looked at Golden impressed at his survivalist skills.
“I can brush them off a bit and paint them if anypony here has some can I can make it almost hidden it’s like a CQC type of combat but it will deal lethal damage at an instant without us using distance to attack.” Golden began to walk ahead. Piercing following suit examining the new weapon they now had.
Sunset observed the two. They’re almost like brothers in arms, they protect each other while protecting us. They do everything in perfect sync as if they were meant to be a team.
Filler:
Spike was sitting on the main entrance stairs of the castle he saw something poke out of the dirt nearby so he decided to investigate. He began to dig up what was poking out and found Flash Sentry, or what was left of him.
Spike screamed bloody murder and ran inside the castle closing the main doors and locking them tight. He began to suck his thumb and rock back and forth in a cradling position trying to forget the horrific event that just occurred.
Piercing was behind Twilight and Sunset and decided to have some fun he vanished from their view and hid amongst the environment that surrounded them. He threw a small pebble at Sunset’s head but angled the impact to make where it seemed like Twilight threw it.
Sunset looked to Twilight and rubbed her head. “Twilight what did I do this time?”
Twilight was confused, “What do you mean?”
“You just hit me.” Sunset retorted back.
“Sunset I’ve been walking by your side this entire time I think you would’ve known if I were to hit you or not.” Twilight was getting angry.
Twilight moved Sunset’s hoof and see where she was hit. It was indeed a bruise, it was medium sized. Twilight kissed it which calmed down Sunset’s small fit.
‘Calm and Collected.’ Sunset kept repeating in her mind.
“Calm and Collected.” Twilight spoke to her with the same tone as before. They shared a tender kiss then parted soon afterwards continuing the walk up the mountain.
Twilight looked around and didn’t see Piercing at all, so she spoke to the sky knowing that Piercing and just blending nearby. “To answer your question before Piercing the Capital of the Griffon Empire IS up that mountains, that is where the king is.” Twilight shouted out the girls who looked confused until Piercing showed up unamused by the statement.
“So why can’t we just long distance teleport over there I mean the majority of us are Unicorns and Alicorns alike.” His solution was failing.
“No, and plus how we going to get the others up there Rarity doesn’t know long distance teleporting.” Twilight continued on the path up the mountain but Piercing wasn’t happy about it.
-3 Hours Later-
The gang decided to make a small campsite in a small cave in the mountain hallway up. They brought out some food (curiosity of Applejack) and they all ate happily sharing stories with one another talking about certain topics that will be boring too go more in depth with in this story.
Twilight and Sunset were sitting off the edge of the small Cliffside of the mountain at the entrance of the cave. They were chatting amongst each other while the rest of the Mane 6 didn’t seem to pay no mind to. Most of them didn’t notice that they were even gone from the group circle they formed.
“So you still don’t know your own role of being a princess?” Twilight asked Sunset in a hushed tone.
“Yeah, I always thought that I can be the Princess of Friendship but you have that role so I don’t know to be honest… I can be Hope, Peace, or Prosperity.” Sunset had more to list in her head but they were mostly negative aspects that Twilight will immediately dismiss.
Twilight wrapped a hoof around her side bringing Sunset closer to her. “I’m sure you’ll discover what you’ve meant to be in no time but even some Destinies take their time to be revealed.” Sunset nodded in agreement slowly taking in the warm embrace.
“Maybe I can ask Golden and Piercing to train us on how to use some weapons so we can defend ourselves instead of relying on them to do it constantly. I mean we can use some pretty lethal magic on our own but still some self-defense would be nice to learn don’t you think?” Sunset asked watch both Piercing and Golden spar with each other with their new weapons, clashing in sync with each other.
Twilight looked at them also they were going at it aggressively but limited their attacks with each other practicing their skills and efficiency in CQC. It’s amazing how they can adapt to such events so quickly especially Golden, he just joined by beating Sunset in a small battle, he stated before they fought that his father was a Captain of Celestia’s Royal Guard… ‘I wonder…’ Twilight thought bringing some ideas in her head.
“Sunset?” Twilight asked getting her attention.
“Hmmm?” Sunset raised an eyebrow giving Twilight her undivided attention.
“Golden Arrow, he stated that his father was a Captain of Celestia’s Royal Guard.”
“Yeah so?” Sunset didn’t know where Twilight was steering this conversation.
“Who do you think IS his father?” Twilight questioned looking at Golden, he pushed Piercing into a wall of the cave and lunged at him tackling him to the ground. Twilight couldn’t help but smile at the sight they acted like brothers. She looked back to Sunset who was still in thought of the question she asked her.
“I don’t know could be a lot of ponies. But then again I don’t know any current Royal Guard Captains.”
Twilight giggled at the answer she knew a few but from what they could tell that they didn’t have any children. So she dropped the conversation about it.
“I wish we weren’t sent on this mission…” Sunset said after a long silence.
She looked at Sunset with wide-eyed. “Why?” Twilight asked, it was the only word she could mutter out.
“I mean to converse peace for something that SHE caused that was on her OWN accord for her. That doesn’t raise a red flag? I mean by what you’ve been telling me about all these stories of your adventures. She’s been sending you to them instead of doing it herself. I mean I get that she’s the ruler but her power in terms of magic is severely weak if she can’t even solve a simple conflict that she started.”
Twilight had no words to describe on what Sunset just said but it got her thinking about Celestia. ‘This is coming from her daughter, Sunset. Sunset wouldn’t steer me wrong… but neither would Celestia… Oh the conflicts arising now.’ Twilight was having a debate battle in her mind that never seemed to end.
Sunset looked at the evening sky, seeing the sun set (Hehehe, Bad pun I know…) It was gleaming through the cave showing off the crystals and mineralized rocks a reflective glow that was a beautiful sight to behold. She grabbed Twilight’s hoof in her own and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. They embraced more deeply into each other as the sun lowered and the sky turned into its dark blue sky the signified the night has begun.
The next day was a usual morning for the Mane 6, expect they were in a small cave in the middle of a mountain, they began to pack up their supplies and resumed their journey up the mountain to the Griffon Empire Capital. The mountain itself wasn’t all that hard to climb, in fact there was a path leading up the Capital. Being as straightforward as possible with it all it seemed too easy for just a way up the mountain.
Piercing and Golden held up their guard at all times while the girls kept trying to loosen them up. Their efforts to do so were a complete failure.
Golden however saw three figures up ahead, Pony-like from what he can summarize, the clear sky soon became a dense gray fog that surrounded them. This is where Piercing spoke softly but firmly.
“Everypony behind us, Golden on me.” Golden nodded following him, bow drawn ready for a lethal attack.
The fog cleared some so they can see the figures ahead, it was indeed a few ponies however they were mangled up. Their guts and blood everywhere, swords stabbed through them, limbs detached and several feet away from them.
‘Poor bastards were murdered but by what?’ Piercing thought looking around trying to find the source of this horrific scene. He spotted a shadow moving quickly in the dense fog. It was coming for him, with little time to react Piercing shot out several darts at the shadow and saw that they indeed hit their target. The black figure fell from where he was hovering into the surface below the mountain.
Piercing looked back to Golden. “Make sure the girls are okay, ask Rainbow Dash if it’s possible to clear this fog ASAP, I don’t think I can predict when another being like that will come for us, nor I want to find out what it was.”
Golden didn’t argue with him he ran back to the girls who were sitting around waiting for the all clear signal to continue. He stopped by Rainbow Dash and explained the situation. She agreed to help out and flew up in the sky, flapping furiously against the fog she blew away most of it, it was enough to see at least a good 50 feet ahead.
She flew down and stuck the landing perfectly in front of Golden who was quite impressed. “Done!” is all Rainbow exclaimed out loud acting sly and cocky.
“Well then, good work Rainbow Dash… Let’s keep moving.” Golden said motioning them to follow him.
Piercing was waiting for them to catch up to him. When they did he continued with them up the mountain. Twilight estimated that they were almost to the top, which was a good thing because Piercing, like Sunset, had enough of this ‘mission’. Twilight was right they all can see the top of the mountain and the city walls came into view; they finally made it to the Capital.
Upon entering through the walls they were met with some resistance, not the rebels but the Royal Guards of the city. They drew their swords and bows aimed only at the gang as the girls hid behind both Golden and Piercing. Sunset came out of the small useless hiding spot and confronted one of the Guards.
“We are here to see the king in regards of peace between Equestria and the Griffon Empire.” Sunset stated boldly as the Royal Guards lowered their weapons. From what they can assume is the Captain of this squad came into view greeting them.
“Forgive our harsh actions we are on lockdown due to… Well you know already you’ve might have encountered a few rebels already.” Piercing nodded to him.
“Anyways, welcome to the Capital of the Griffon Empire we’ll take you to see the king now. Follow us and stick together as a group, for future reference my name is Colonel Snapshot.” The colonel motioned them to follow him, a few guards were in front and some were in the back forming a box around them while they walked.
The Capital was a lively place it wasn’t destroyed in any way. Griffons in all sizes, large to small, enjoyed themselves to food and entertainment. Similar to Canterlot’s architecture they had a large community that was all friendly. The castle of the king wasn’t like Celestia’s castle at all it was all stone with marble flooring upon entry. There was red carpet pathways everywhere but that is assumed to be in most castles. The king however was in his throne room which was guarded with some major security. 35 guards in the throne room lined up from wall to wall swords at rest.
The king looked at the gang with an expression that read: “I’m watching you…”
But he showed a friendly gesture, “Greetings ponies of Equestria how may I help you today?”
Twilight and Sunset stepped forward with Golden and Piercing right behind them. “Good afternoon your highness, my name is Twilight Sparkle and this is Sunset Shimmer we are both Princesses of Equestria and would like to discuss peace with your Empire due to an incident that recently happened. The two guards behind us are our Special Forces, Major Golden Arrow and Major Piercing Dart.” Twilight, Sunset, Piercing, and Golden bowed before the king who was more delighted to resolve this issue with Equestria.
“It is nice to meet you Princess Twilight and Princess Sunset. If you would follow me we will discuss this issue and hopefully have it resolved in a short amount of time. I don’t like keeping allied rulers waiting.” Twilight and Sunset followed the king to a meeting room where the rest of the gang including Piercing and Golden stood outside in the throne room surrounded by the Griffon Royal Guards. Piercing sat on the floor and began to meditate speaking some gibberish to himself that wasn’t comprehensive or audible to anypony. Golden looked to his right and saw that the Colonel was trying to get their attention, he walked towards him which he motioned to speak in private.
Golden and Snapshot were in a small room where they couldn’t be interrupted.
“Okay you have my attention speak.” Golden spat out.
The Colonel could tell that he wasn’t in a good mood. “Forgive me from separating you for your group but you do know about the rebel army correct?”
Golden nodded, “They wear a Yellow and Black armor color type and harm anything in their wake. We killed a few of them that derailed our train here.”
Snapshot didn’t speak for a while after that. “I must ask you why and how you acquired a Royal Guard Palm Dagger, you and your partner, Major Piercing Dart.” The Colonel leaned back awaiting Golden’s answer.
Golden showed the Palm Dagger to him, “We got these from some dead griffons below the mountain. It was a rebel Griffon that I got the gear from I didn’t know that they were Royal Guard Combat Gear.”
Snapshot nodded to him intrigued, “Well I can say that your survival skills are top notch.”
“That they are Colonel.”
They spent more time talking about certain topics, earning each other’s trust even inviting Piercing to the conversation, Piercing shed more insight on more general subjects that were related to the Princesses or Combat tactics overall.
As for our two star-struck lovers in the meeting room with the king the conversations were more ‘conflicting’.
“Your Ruler, Princess Celestia, shot a high beam of magic at our wall nearly destroying it almost letting the rebels penetrate through.” The king wasn’t at ease any more.
“Yes, we understand this your highness but we still want allied peace between our two nations. We don’t want to have a war with you if you’re currently in a war now. It will be overwhelming sir and we only recommend the best course of action is for peace and maybe we can send some of our troops here to help your Empire fight off the rebels.” Twilight was trying to get out of here with her head but the king wasn’t having it but he calmed down a few minutes into thought.
“I want you to deliver a message to me I’ll read it out loud while I write it so you know what I will propose and if your Ruler declines this offer I will see to it that we will have a war with Equestria.”
The king gathered a pen and quill and began to write:
Dear Princess Celestia,
I will show you peace and keep our existing treaty as how it should. However your actions will not be just passed by with an “I’m sorry” I request that you send some troops here to assist us in fighting off the rebels. If your troops and my own defeat them our peace will be as it was before. However failure to agree with this and we will be at a never ending war. I don’t need to recall The Great Equestrian War, you and I do not need another genocide of that caliber. So sign this saying that you’ll agree then send it to me so I know that we are at amends.

Twilight grabbed the letter from the King once he was done writing. They were about to leave when the King stopped them.
“The journey back to Equestria will be very dangerous, too dangerous for your Special Forces to even handle I know because I’ve lost countless men coming her and back to their posts. I’ll get your all geared up with armor and some weapons so you can fend for yourselves if the situation seems overwhelming for your Majors.” They both nodded off to him accepting the offer. He told them to follow him once more and to tell the gang to follow him as well as Golden and Piercing.
Once in a small room that was too small to fit everypony, he pushed on several blocks in to the wall and opened a special door. They all stepped in and saw a variety of armor and weapons.
“Take what you can handle and hold onto. Major Piercing and Major Golden upgrade your scavenged weaponry so you can have a more of a fighting chance. Both nodded in understanding.
-An Hour Later-
The Mane 6 and Sunset were decked out in Golden armor and equipped each with bows and swords, each examining each other to make sure that they had enough to live and enough to survive.
Piercing and Golden were in front of them watching each pony carefully as they all exited the main gates of the city and on the path down the mountain. Before they could step ahead Gold and Piercing stopped them all and told each of them to line up so they can brief them on the current situation.
“Now ladies, this journey back will be extremely dangerous to where death is inevitable. Just now to use your weapons for in the most extreme of conditions I and Major Golden will protect you with our lives. Just know that if one of us doesn’t make it to keep going. DO NOT look back and try to help, keep running and don’t stop running, do you understand what I’m asking out of all of you?” They all nodded.
Both began walking as the rest following.
‘Our lives depend on our survivability’ Both Golden and Piercing thought in unison.
Going down the mountain was much more ‘safer’ then going up it. There was no sign of any rebels to be found, this was either a good thing or a bad thing to the gang, but they took advantage of the situation while it lasted.
Piercing kept observing the mountain above them as they walked down it.
“This momentary peaceful environment is suspicious enough for an ambush.” He stated finally breaking the silence as they all walked.
When they reached the bottom they walked along the train tracks all the way back to Equestria. However the peacefulness was short lived as they were indeed ambushed by 3 rebels. With little time to react Piercing shot out three darts at them as they flew up. Piercing’s horn glowed and the darts split into 10 others for each one that was launched. Each Griffon suffered before their deaths as they were attacked from above by the shower of darts. Their backs full of darts and blood that trickled down to the ground where they flew above. They all fell to the surface dead before the impact.
The girls looked at Piercing who continued to walk ahead. He looked back, “Keep moving!” He ordered as they didn’t want to argue with him.
Twilight tried something, she put her horn to the ground and sent a magic pulse. This wasn’t just for the lights and scenery she was trying to find out if there were any more rebels around and there was more than they can count surrounding them. As Twilight looked up she was face to face with a rebel that came at them with blinding speeds. With an instinct kicking in she shot him with a magic bean launching him several meters away. He got up and lunged back at her blade drawn ready to kill, but Sunset was quicker than him stabbing a sword straight through his back, his blood gushing out all over the sword and Sunset’s hoof as she dug into him, killing him.
She removed the sword from the carcass and rushed to Twilight who was terrified. She embraced her.
“I didn’t even see him and was about to…” Sunset shushed her trying to calm her down.
“Shh… It’s okay you’re safe now...”
“I would be too sure about that…” Golden said with his bow drawn to 10 other rebels in front of them.
The girls were ready to fight back with everything they got. Applejack was about to buck kick one of them until she was stabbed in the hind leg, shrieking in pain and reacting just in time she swung her sword and sliced a Griffon’s throat killing him before he could cause any more damage. She examined her leg and yelled to Golden.
“Golden help!”
Golden rushed over to her shooting arrows at 2 more rebel Griffons. He levitated her on his back and he ran off yelling to the rest of the girls to follow him and fast.
Piercing was on his own at they made their escape. Twilight looked back and yelled at him to run but he refused.
“GO! RUN GET OUT OF HERE!” He yelled back fighting off 5 other rebels in front of him. 3 more came from behind, he was surrounded unable to run. Twilight continued to look back as she ran with the group. Piercing was fighting them off not for his life but for theirs.
Piercing punched a Griffon the ground and he stabbed him to the neck with the hidden dagger. The others pounced on him as they tried to get a good hit on him but failed. He teleported away from the scuffle and drew out 5 darts. However instead of hitting the Griffons they hit the ground around them forming a circle. They were confused by the action examining each dart that they were surrounded by. With the glow of his horn Piercing made each dart explode at once the resulting blast was seen by the group who stopped for a minute and watched the small mushroom cloud form from the blast.
More Griffons showed up but without Piercing’s knowledge, taking advantage one stabbed him on the hind leg another shot him with an arrow to his body break several ribs, and the last one punched him in the face cracking his jaw. He grunted in extreme pain from the sudden ambush. He grabbed one of his darts and hacked and slashed at them, he killed one this way and threw the dart at another one to his legs crippling him to walk but flying however not. The one who wasn’t harmed in any way lunged at him with speeds that not even Rainbow Dash can keep up with. With a bit of energy and strength Piercing had left he swung his sword upwards and split his face in two. The remaining Griffon who was struggling to fly up was tackled to the ground by Piercing and during the heat of the moment Piercing removed the dart from his leg and stabbed at his side, repeating the gesture until he was tired.
Golden motioned them to follow but Twilight teleported in front of him stopping him in his tracks. “We have to go back and help him!” She barked at him but he wasn’t fazed by it.
“No you heard what we said we continue on, we serve to protect you Princess Twilight if you die then we not only failed our task but we fail Equestria entirely. Now I don’t want to hear it we will keep moving, he will be fine.” He put a hoof to her cheek. “Trust me…” She became water-eyed as she looked back at the disassembling mushroom cloud. Sunset patted her back as they continued walking. She embraced her.
“I don’t want to lose anyone none of my friends… Even if they were ordered to protect me with their life. I’d rather die than to lose any of my friends…”
Sunset didn’t know how to respond, Twilight being the Princess of Friendship she can understand that she didn’t want to lose any friend but the fact that she will want to sacrifice herself for her friends is something else.
She decided not to push her to explain, when Twilight is good and ready to tell her she will. Right now they just have to survive this together. Sunset gave Twilight a peck on the cheek and whisper in her ear.
“I won’t let any being harm you.” She looked to at Sunset who then tighten their embrace as they walked along trying to clear her mind of Piercing.
As for Piercing himself it was a skirmish of the ages. Before him was countless bodies of rebel Griffons, he was panted roughly from exhaustion and didn’t have any more feeling within him to fight off any more rebels but lucky for him they stopped coming in fact they ran off when that explosion happened. Piercing gave out a harsh laugh then muttered something out.
“Keep running…”
He passed out in the middle of the fallen Rebels he killed, smiling to himself knowing that he completed his mission.
The group made it to a small train station that they were supposed to stop at, it was small, very small to be a train station at all. They stepped on the platform where Golden took Applejack off his back so he can rest off from the weight put upon him. Golden saw a pony behind a small ticket booth he didn’t seem to notice them until he tapped on the glass to get his attention.
“Hello… My name is Golden Arrow, Major of the Royal Guard and I request to know when the next train will come?”
The pony looked to a train schedule and looked back at him a few seconds later.
“Well sir the next train will arrive in 20 minutes.”
Golden looked back at the gang who was tired and panting from running. He had to keep in mind that they didn’t have the endurance to continue like him so he sighed.
“How much is, one, two, three, four… Eight tickets?”
The pony gathered eight tickets and put them on the small counter for Golden to take.
“Normally it’s 24 bits but for you no charge I can see that you’re on an escort.” He gave out a small salute which Golden saluted back and thanked him for the tickets.
-20 Minutes Later-
Twilight and Sunset were huddled against a wall of the station alone separated from the group entirely. They were embracing each other giving equal comfort, though Sunset was more comfortable then Twilight who was curled up in a ball rocking back and forth while.
“He’ll be fine Twilight.” Twilight stopped and stared at her.
“Don’t ever leave my side.” Is all Twilight muttered out under her breath. Sunset gave her a small kiss on the head.
“That will never happen, I will always be with you to the end.” She held Twilight close to her giving as much love as she can give.
The train arrived as expected and everypony got aboard. Golden gave the conductor the tickets which he hole punched. The train left several minutes later from the station back to Canterlot the next stop.
The train ride was nice and peaceful. This is what they wanted during this entire quest. Peace, and they finally had it. The train stopped at Canterlot and stood still for 20 minutes. While that was happening they went to the castle and gave Princess Celestia the letter. She read it over and smiled. She signed it and sent it back the king and yelled out for some guards to show. As they did they bowed before her as she spoke.
“I want 10 squads deployed to the Griffon Empire to assist them in their war efforts, I want a casualty report after it’s done.” They saluted and ran off to gather the squads for the assigned task.
She then turned her head to the bunch who were standing patiently for her. She walked to them and noticed that Piercing wasn’t with them.
“What happened to Piercing Dart?” Twilight looked away.
Golden spoke out, “He told us to leave him behind as he was being attacked by some rebels though I believe that he’s still alive out there somewhere.” Celestia nodded off to Golden’s statement.
“Very well excellent work from you and Piercing I hereby promote you both to the next rank and as for you girls’ thank you for completing this task for me I understand how hard it was. Now go back home and rest it off I’m sure you all need it.” She went back to sitting down as they all left.
The guards behind the door as they left saluted to Golden, “Congrats on your Promotion Lieutenant Colonel Golden Arrow sir!” They yelled in unison. He saluted back and left with the girls back to Ponyville.
-In Ponyville-
Twilight and Sunset exchanged their goodbyes to the rest of the Mane 6 as they left to their homes. Both Princesses stepped into the castle and saw Spike cleaning up. Spike ran to them and embraced them tightly, then noticed that Sunset’s front hooves were soaked on blood in fact he noticed that both Twilight and Sunset were in some type of armor.
“Where did you guys go and what did you guys do?” Spike asked Twilight and Sunset who were too exhausted to talk. Golden waved him off
“I’ll explain later, for now Twilight and Sunset go get some rest if you need me just yell.” They both nodded and walked to their bedroom.
Once inside their room both Twilight and Sunset laid in bed in each other’s arms, too tired to do anything else. So they both fell asleep.
Spike and Golden were sitting in the dining room, Golden was telling him the entire mission in a nutshell.
“And so that’s how we completed the mission.” Golden concluded.
Spike was amazed and sad at the same time. “Sorry about Piercing he was a good guy.”
Golden looked out the window nearest to him where the sun shined through. “Yeah he was.”
-The Next Day-
Twilight awoke from her slumber with Sunset. She left the embrace they shared while they slept peacefully. She looked to a clock it read ’11:34am’.
‘We’ve been asleep for 16 hours…’ she thought looking at Sunset’s sleeping form. She lightly nudged her and after a few seconds Sunset’s eyes were in view. They shared a small look at each other before getting up from the bed and walking to the throne room. Golden and Spike were waiting for them.
As they enter Golden and Spike walked to them. Golden spoke first.
“Well look who woke up, you’ve been asleep for quite a while now. WE were almost going to pronounce you dead.” Golden laughed but Sunset wasn’t in the mood as she was disturbed from her slumber.
“Bite me…” Is all she muttered to him as she leaned back on her throne
Golden showed off a cocky smile. “Ohhh, so the Princess is getting all huffy how cute.”
“Shut up.” Sunset barked back.
Golden was having too much fun with it. “Oh and now to vulgar language really this must be the day.”
“I will bucking kill you if you don’t shut up.” Sunset stood up from her throne and charged up her horn.
Twilight stepped in between them both. “Enough! Golden Arrow stop acting like Jackass and Sunset go take a nap.”
Silence filled the room. The only thing that made noise was the main doors opening. When they opened nopony was seen coming in as if they opened on their own. Curious to the door, Twilight walked outside of it and looked around, everypony didn’t pay no mind as they walked to different shops and houses. She closed to door behind her and went back to the Spike and Golden.

“You know it takes a lot to kill me. Griffons however, they can pack a punch.” Golden began to laugh, Twilight looked at them two as if she was in a different world.
“Welcome back you son of a bitch, so you survived after all.” Golden hugged then hoofbumped him but he grunted in pain from the contact.
“Yeah Golden, still very hurt here and I can bleed out. I might ask you Twilight if I can get some medical attention here?” Piercing asked kneeling to the ground to ease the pain.
Twilight nodded and took out a quail and some paper and sent a letter to the Ponyville hospital to send a few nurses. She walked over to him to examine the wounds.
“You’re bleeding pretty bad Piercing you sure you don’t need to lie down anywhere? Here let me get you some~” Twilight was stopped short when Piercing put his hoof on her shoulder.
“I’m good just leave me here with my squadmate.” Twilight smiled at him for his small words.
“I’ll let Sunset know that you’re okay, just don’t die on me.” Is all Twilight stated before leaving him alone with Golden.
They sat around for a few minutes until the nurses came and went to work on him, they began to remove the weapons off of him first then weapons stuck in him second.
While the nurses were doing what they did Golden looked at him.
