Chapter one: The Breakup

Twilight sat up in her bedroom of her new library. She was just finishing up the book she got from Rainbow Dash, "Daring Do and Somepony Named Rainbow Dash." It was the second Daring Do book that Rainbow had been in it. As she finished the sixth chapter, Spike ran up the spiral staircase. He was banging his chest, like he was chocking on something.

"Spike, are you alright?" Twilight asked. The baby dragon coughed and nodded yes, lifting his pointer finger up as a "wait a minute" sign. Twilight looked confused as he kept coughing. "Uh....Spike?"

He finally burped up a long letter-from Princess Celestia herself! Twilight grabbed it and read the long letter very quickly.

Then she gasped. "The Princess needs me, immediately!!!"

The huge palace in Canterlot loomed overhead as the trio of the Mane Six galloped down the cobblestone road. The dodged cabs and citizens, swiftly trying to avoid a crash. Then they reached the castle. Twilight Sparkle knocked on the big gold and marble door. Princess Celestia opened it in a royal matter.

She frowned when she saw the Mane Six.

"Twilight, I understand your friendships are important but this is something you'll need to do all alone. Your friends can go shopping or whatever until I tell you the news."

The Mane Six made worried glances at each other.

"It's okay, Twi! I kinda wanted to eat that cupcake that I saw... when we were running," Pinkie Pie reassured.

Twilight gave a faint smile and walked into the long hallway leading to the throne room. The selfish Prince Blueblood sat on the other side of the throne, next to his mother, Princess Luna.

"What's going on...?" Twilight asked. Luna made a gesture to have Twilight walk forward to her adopted son.

"Twilight, there needs to be something made... and agreement, really," Celestia explained, "Um... To keep the Pony Dome safe... there needs to be an arranged marriage...."

"WHAT?!?" Twilight exclaimed. Her voice echoed through the empty throne room. Prince Blueblood rolled his eyes.

"Is this the 'royal princess' I am to marry, mother?" Prince Blueblood asked Luna. Luna's face turned bright red at her son's unexpected question.

"Him...?" Twilight asked. Prince Blueblood made a crumbled-up face and brushed off the princess.

"Why? WHY? I'm already dating!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Good for you!! Mother, now may I go do do something else? She's already in a working relationship! Certiantly doesn't need me..." Prince Blueblood exclaimed.

"Yeah! Listen to the snobby prince!" Twilight said, "For once I agree with him!"

Celestia rolled her eyes.

"Enough, you two! It is what needs to be done," Celestia opened a small box, and withdrew to small rings. She placed them on Prince Blueblood's and Twilight's horn.

"You may go. I want you to tell Flash immediately," Celestia ordered. Twilight felt the sting of tears fill her eyes. She made an angry face and ran out.

"I'm sorry Flash," Twilight explained. She gave her new ex-coltfriend a warm hug.

"This-this isn't fair," Flash Sentry grumbled. "Why couldn't the old 1,000 year-old princess find herself a husband, huh?"

"I know, but, this how things are 'ment to be.'" Twilight rolled her eyes.

"Have you told your friends yet?" Flash asked. Twilight nodded.

"And my family... and Derpy. She gave me a muffin," Twilight lifted the muffin from her saddle.

"A pear muffin...?" Flash looked over the odd snack.

"Yeah... she said Dr. Whooves didn't want it..." Twiligth put it back in her saddle.

"We'll always be friends, Flash," it hurt so much to see tears fill Flash's eyes.

"Yeah, I guess so," Flash wiped away a tear.

"And, besides Pinkie's throwing a huge "I'm Sorry You Broke Up, I Hope You Have A Good Marriage," party. Man, that pony has a party planned for every occasion," Twilight stated. Flash chuckled at her little note. They walked out of the palace gates, to Ponyville, into the party

The cold evening air brushed onto Twilight's mane as she walked the cold dirt road to Ponyville with Flash Sentry by her side. Lights glowed and shone onto the road from Sugar Cube Corner's attic, Pinkie Pie's home. The sun was setting, and Luna was raising the moon slowly.

Ponies were trying to fit their way into the door, and they yelled telling ponies to "Move outta my way!!!"

They all parted aside, bowing to Twilight as she walked through the door. Everything was crazy.

"I thought Pinkie Pie said, 'A small get-together,'" Flash Sentry whispered. Twilight smiled and waved as photographers tried to snap a photo of her wedding ring on her horn. Twilight slipped it off and hid it in her mane, also trying to distract the ponies by saying, "Oh, look! A, um, a chocolate fudge filled cupcake!"

Pinkie's pink hoof popped through the door, motioning Flash and Twilight to walk upstairs. The two crept away from he crowd, and swiftly ran up. Everyone Twilight knew, or mostly had an acquaintance, was there.

Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Spike, Rarity, of course, Pinkie Pie, Cheese Sandwich, Soarin, Big Mac. They where drinking apple cider and laughing at stupid Big Mac jokes. Rainbow Dash was bragging to Soarin that he was a loser and that she should be in his place. Yep. They are all drunk.

Flash looked around with a disproving stare. He looked at Twilight with a disgusted face. Applejack ran up and shoved a big glass of cider into Flash's face. He took the cup and drank it. Twilight was shocked. she didn't know he drank.

Sooner or later everyone was complete idiots. Twilight refused to have even one sip. Pinkie Pie shot herself out of a canon... Rainbow Dash was singing My Heart Will Go On, and all the boys, too drunken to notice the totally high-pitched, or low key of Rainbow's scratchy voice, was moved to tears.

Twilight saw Fluttershy sitting in the corner. She was curled up into a ball. Twilight walked over to see what happened.

"EVERYONE IS COMPLETE IDIOTS RIGHT NOW," Fluttershy whispered in a scared tone. Twilight nodded and went to sit in the corner, too. She talked to Fluttershy for a moment. The two girls decided to go downstairs to get ice cream.

Twilight forgot something. Her ring. She left it on the seat.

"You go on down, Fluttershy. I'll be right there," Twilight reassured. Fluttershy nodded and left. Twilight heard Flash's voice coming from the hallway. She heard Rainbow Dash's sly chuckle. She got curious.

She peeked down the hallway and saw Rainbow Dash and Flash Sentry kissing. They laughed and kissed. Twilight covered her mouth, trying to conceal the scream about to escape her lips. She flew downstairs, clutching the ring in her hoof.

Twilight looked across the Table at her ex.

"Admit it. You and Rainbow Dash are an item now, aren't you two?" Twilight asked. Flash looked down at the cafe floor. A waitress came by and refilled his cup of coffee.

"Well, I was drunk, she was drunk, so yeah..." Flash rubbed the back of his mane, "Some other things also happened..."

"Oh. My. Gosh, Flash! You and Rainbow did the thing?" Twilight had a shocked and horrified face. Flash nodded and looked at the ground.

"I hope there won't be anything more serious," Flash said. Twilight sipped her coffee slowly and was overtaken by this news. She bid he farewell and left the cafe.

The cold, overcast air whipped Twilight's face as Rainbow Dash's house loomed and grew closer. Twilight wondered what really happened. Boys don't tell the whole truth.

Twilight was finally on the step of Rainbow's house. She knocked in a royal matter, not in a banging crash. Rainbow slowly opened the door, her crystal blue eyes and bright colors of hair shone just a bit.

"Twilight?" Rainbow asked, "What are you doing here?" Twilight sighed.

"Just let me in."

Rainbow opened the door to her friend. The purple mare walked into the comfortable cloud home. Posters of Wonderbolts hung on the walls, and a TV sat in the corner near a blue beanbag chair. A staircase went upstairs, and you could faintly see Rainbow's rainbow bed.

"What do you need to talk about, Twi?" Rainbow asked. She rubbed her hoof through her unruly rainbow locks.

"About what happened last night. You and Flash had sex, didn't you?" Twilight asked. Rainbow nodded sheepishly and looked at the ground. A small tear flew down her face.

"I also decided to name our filly Rainbow Brite," Rainbow Dash squeeked. Twilight gasped. Was she...?

"Rainbow, I'm sorry, I didn't know..." Twilight rubbed her friend's back. Rainbow Dash burst into a fit of tears.

"Let's go tell Flash," Twilight stated. Rainbow nodded and walked out the door with Twi.

Flash's huge mansion sat ontop of a cloud. Rainbow slowly dragged on next to Twilight.

"Flash, Rainbow needs to talk to you," she pushed the Rainbow mare toward Flash.

"I'll be back."
