A change in fate (rewritten)
So, Spike will be using the dead bone pulse and Mokuton....as for personality, he won't change that much. He'll be able to become serious quicker, but he is only a teenager. In years, Twilight will be around 18, and Spike would be around 16. Spike will have wings....but like in the show, his personality will flex between child and adult due to him being well, a dragon. He has unstable emotions in the story. He'll be overconfident one moment, and doubt himself the next. His constant companion (besides PeeWee later on) will be the snake he saved, named Doku. Fun fact: Doku is Japanese for "Venom".
And before I forget, Doku will be based on a real snake species....The Cottonmouth!
Inside a bush, curled up tightly, laid a snake. This one was unlike the other Equestrian snakes, as his fangs folded up in his mouth instead of jutting out like the wild snakes. He was also a mottled brown and black color, instead of green.
His name was Doku, and he was one of the Snake Summon's many scouts in the different dimensions.
Since the summoning technique was a Time-Space Technique that teleported something from one location to another, the snakes had used advanced reverse-summonings to send scouts to different dimensions and seek out potential allies.
However, very few had anything close to chakra, and those who did did not ally themselves with them. Their only summoners had been Orochimaru, Anko Mitarashi, Kabuto Yakushi, and Sasuke Uchiha.
Yet, as he waited in the cold, watching the humanoid....ponies..literally clear away the cold weather, Doku thought fondly of his home in the Ryuchi Caves. He thought of the Snake Sage and of the statues of dragons in his home.
Dragons....oh to be a reptile that could breathe fire!, he thought. To be able to just exhale a flame and warm oneself up in the cold
Doku was broken from his thoughts when the bush he was in was battered by a rake. He was thrown out of it, stunned by the impact, and landed in a nearby pond.
The cold water shocked him and Doku felt his strength leaving him, sapped by the cold water as his body temperature further dropped to dangerously low degrees.
I am...done for... Doku thought, I failed to pay attention to my surroundings and it...cost me.. Most of his body was underwater at this point, and he felt the cold water rising up to his head, helpless to stop himself from sinking into the water.
Right before he did, a purple, scaled hand grabbed onto him and pulled him out of the frigid water.
"Oh man, that was close. Good thing I was nearby." The voice was odd for the one who spoke it. The snake looked at his purple savior. A small, but powerful snout jutted from where a 'mouth' would be. Slanted irises, almost like a cat's or snake's showed concern for the slithering reptile. The emerald green orbs travels over Doku's scale covered body, giving a worried look. Doku's eyes travels down, seeing two four clawed hands, sharpened to a killing edge. His eyes traveled down more to see a three toed foot, the claws gripping at the cold ground. Something waving behind the strange creature caught his attention: a spaded tail, raised above the ground. Sharp, green spikes jutted from the top of his head to the tip of his tail, but one thought ran through Doku's mind:A dragon?!
"You're freezing cold." The figure said, as he ran to a tree holding Doku close to his body...his nice...warm...body. To Doku's surprise, there was a shelter built into a living tree, complete with a fireplace.
The figure set Doku down next to the unlit fireplace and took a deep breath before literally exhaling a plume of green flames, much to Doku's shock.
However, Doku, much to his chagrin, did not have enough strength to talk, so he just sat there, warming himself by the fire as the figure went back outside, leaving Doku with one thought.
Why did he save a snake?
A shrill scream broke Doku from his nap-not that he had noticed falling asleep near the warm fire-and he turned and hissed at the figure, revealing the inside of his white mouth and baring his fangs.
The figure was a purple unicorn wearing what Doku could describe as a librarian's clothes, with the figure who saved him right next to her. She had a white button-up blouse with red reading glasses folded in a pocket. She had a long, grey skirt that went down below her knees and had an image of a pink star with a white star behind it with six white stars around it on the left side. His savior was wearing a simple black leather jacket and tan shorts.
"Spike? Why is there a SNAKE in the library?! You know I'm afraid of snakes!" She yelled out.
"Sorry Twilight, I honestly forgot about him. I fished him out of the freezing cold lake and had him warming up." The figure-Spike-said, scratching his head in a sheepish manner.
"And I musssst thank you for that." Doku hissed out, making both of them stiffen and look at him in shock.
"Did he....just talk?!" Twilight said, getting an annoyed look from Doku.
You are talking, are you not? What'ssss ssso sssstrange about other creaturesss talking? Doku spat out, before slithering up to Spike and opening his mouth.
Much to Twilight and Spike's shock and disgust, Doku coughed out a scroll and flicked it open with his tail. "Thisss isss the sssnake sssumoning contract. I musssst admit, we ssssnakessss have never had a sssummoner who was not once human, but sssince you did sssave me, we can make an exception to that."
In dried blood, there were-in Japanese-were four names with fingerprints underneath them in dried blood. There were the names "Orochimaru", "Anko Mitarashi", "Kabuto Yakushi", and "Sasuke Uchiha".
"Blood?" Twilight asked.
"Relax. The blood is only from them biting their fingerssss. Easssily healed and not much blood lossst. After he ssssignsss the ssssumoning contract, I will take him to my home in the Ryuchi Cavesss to properly learn how to harnessss hisss power."
"NO! I WON'T LET HIM SIGN!" Twilight shouted.
"Pleassse let him ssssign the contract. It issss the only thing I can do to sssstart repaying the debt I owe him." The snake said, "He hassss a great potential within him. He can be ssssooo much....more."
"I can be...more than what I am?" Spike asked, "I can actually help....instead of getting in the way?"
"Indeed" The snake said.
Spike cautiously approached the scroll, biting his thumb hard enough to draw blood, and slowly used his bleeding thumb to write his name. Tapping his thumb on each finger enough to get blood on the fingertips, he then tapped his fingerprints under his name.
Doku flicked the scroll shut with his tail and the scroll vanished in a cloud of smoke.
"IF I let Spike go with you" Twilight said, stressing the 'if', "I need your word that Spike will come back...I....I can't lose him...." She finished, voice trailing off.
"I promisssse he will return when he hassss reached a sssatisssfactory level with hisss training. He will at leassst be ssstrong enough to sssurvive on hisss own. Now...Reverssse Sssummoning Technique!"
With that, Spike and Dosu vanished in two clouds of smoke.
The two reappeared in a cloud of smoke in a cave system in front of a gigantic stone chair with an even larger dragon statue behind it. On the chair was a giant white snake with a narrow pipe that ended in a white segment in it's mouth.
The white snake's eyes widened when he saw the figure next to Doku. "A dragon?!" It shouted in shock.
"He sssaved my life when I wasss ssstuck in freezing water...he doesss have to return home after the training...but...he could...represssent usss in hisss home..." Doku explained.
"You think he hasss potential for...ssssage training?" The white snake hissed out before staring into Spike's eyes.
"He isss untrained in the waysss of Chakra...but that may work in our favor. A blank ssslate." The white snake said, blowing out some smoke from his pipe. "Deep withinuyou there ssshould be a well of power. It ssshould feel different than our fire, yet sssimilar at the same time. Draw it out."
Spike closed his eyes and focused.
The snakes waited....and waited....and waited.
Just as they were going to give up, a green wisp surrounded him, before growing a flowing off him like a wild wind. The ground underneath him cracked open and saplings grew out of the he ground.
Wood Release?! Both snakes thought in shock. The first person who had the wood release became a legend...And now someone who had that rare ability was their summoner!
They were not done with surprises, as the scales on his elbows shifted and two long spikes of bone protruded from them.
"Umm..." Spike said, tapping a bone spike with a clawed finger, "Is that supposed to hurt?"
Both snakes had one thought.....
JACKPOT!!!!
