Pinkie Pie was leaning on her desk and Twilight was reading a book when Fluttershy came into their office crying. "What's wrong Fluttershy?" Twilight asked. "Scramble and Sunny are missing." the yellow mare cried. Pinkie Pie gasped. "Not Scramble and Sunny! They still owe me five bucks!" the pink pony yelled. Twilight raised an eyebrow. "You gambled with chickens?" "And a pig, Angel, and also Rainbow Dash." Twilight and Fluttershy just looked at her. "Show us the crime scene." Twilight told Fluttershy.
"Hmmm." Pinkie Pie said. The two detectives were at the yellow pegasus's chicken coop. The wire that made the fence had a hole in it which could've easily let the chickens run away. However, when Twilight pointed this out to Pinkie Pie, she was too busy looking at the footprints that she didn't even listen to Twilight. "I said." "I know were they are!" Twilight and Fluttershy looked at Pinkie Pie in confusion. "How?" the unicorn asked. "Easy. The footprints lead to Sweet Apple Acres silly." Pinkie Pie said cheerfully.
The two detectives followed the footprints to the CMC's clubhouse. Twilight knocked on the door and Sweetie Bell answered it. "Hi Twilight and Pinkie. What can I do for you?" The filly asked. Suddenly, the two detectives heard clucking noises and peered over the filly's shoulder to see Scootalo and Apple Bloom chasing the missing chickens.
"Okay girls. What are you doing with Fluttershy's chickens?" Twilight asked.
Twilight had the CMC sit down for questioning while Pinkie Pie put the chickens in a crate she pulled from her mane. "Are you gambling with them too? Because if you are be careful. Scramble is a wizard at black jack." Pinkie Pie said. Twilight hit Pinkie on the head. "What's gambling?" Apple Bloom asked. "And what's black jack?" Scootalo questioned. "Never mind girls. Just answer the first question." The purple unicorn answered. The CMC sighed. "We wanted to try and get our cutie marks in chicken sitting." Apple Bloom explained. "So we put a trail of sunflower seeds that leads to our clubhouse." Scootalo added. "We were just borrowing them. Honest!" Sweetie Bell said. The two detectives sighed and shook their heads. Then Twilight scolded the fillies and the pink pony carried the crate out side. Then the two detectives went to their friend's house to return the chickens.
"Thank you." Fluttershy smiled. Pinkie Pie and Twilight smiled, waved goodbye to the mare, and headed back to their office.
Pinkie Pie and Twilight were eating at Sugar Cube Corners when Rainbow Dash dive bombed next to them. "What was that for?" the unicorn asked. "I need your help! Somepony stole my Daring Do book collection!" Rainbow Dash yelled. Pinkie Pie gasped. "This is serious! We'll take the case!" Twilight rolled her eyes. Sure she loved books. However, she's seen Rainbow Dash's bedroom. Not one of the cleanest places. However, she did like a good mystery. That's the only reason she took the job. "Let me cast the cloud walking spell then you can show us the crime scene." Twilight informed Rainbow Dash.
"Wow." Twilight said. They were in Rainbow Dash's room and it was messier then she remembered. Clothes were covering the floor and her desk made Twilight want to cry. It was covered in papers, trash, and pencils. "Let's get started." Twilight sighed.
After about hours of searching(and cleaning) the ponies still couldn't find the book or clues that showed were Rainbow Dash's books were. Maybe somepony really did steel a whole book series? Twilight wondered to herself. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and Rainbow Dash answered the door. "Found it!" Pinkie Pie yelled. Twilight looked behind her. What the? The unicorn was certain that the pink pony was behind her. However, she just shook her head and walked up to the door. "Were did you find the Daring Do book series?" Twilight asked. Pinkie Pie smiled. "Well, I was bored of looking in Rainbow Dash's room so I went outside and started to bounce on the clouds. Then I saw Sorien caring a bunch of books. I asked him what he's doing with them and he said to give these to Rainbow Dash and that he is really sorry." Pinkie explained.
Rainbow Dash made a mental note to have a chit chat with Sorien. However she was so happy to have her books back. So maybe she'll go easy on him.
Rainbow Dash waved goodbye as her friends headed back to Ponyville. Time to finally finish this series for the 20th time. She thought.
Apple Jack opened the barn door and went into the far back to check on the apple cider that she was aging. However, when she wen to were she stored it, the barrels containing the cider was gone!
Twilight and Pinkie Pie walked up to Sweet Apple Acres.
"There ya are!" Apple Jack shouted. The detectives walked up to the earth pony. "What's wrong Apple Jack?" Twilight asked. "I'll show ya." The detectives followed the cowgirl into her barn. "Somepony stole my barrels full of apple cider that I was aging." Apple Jack informed. "Why are you aging cider?" Twilight asked. "So that the whiskey I put into the cider becomes more flavorful." Twilight gulped. "You put whiskey in your cider!" Apple Jack rolled her eyes. "It's okay sugar cube. You are of age remember." "Yeah! Plus it makes the cider taste supper doper yummy." Pinkie Pie said. Twilight shook her head. "But I gave Spike some of the cider! What if he dies!" Twilight started to hyperventilate. Apple Jack gulped. "Twi, when did you give him this cider?" "Two months ago. "How much?" "Probably just some teaspoons." "Then he's find. I only put a cup of that stuff into the apple cider anyway." After Twilight calmed down, the two detectives got down to businesses. They examined the crime scene and only managed to find a dirty feather. Man this thief is good. So Twilight looked outside while Pinkie Pie was asking the animals if they've seen anything. Suddenly, Pinkie Pie bounced towards Twilight and Apple Jack. "Bessy said that she saw three ponies enter the barn and took the barrels of cider." she chimed. "Uh...my prized cow told ya that?" Apple Jack asked. "I know. She did lie to me about the moon. She said that it's made out of rock. However, I know it's made out of swiss cheese." Pinkie explained.
"Let's go into town." Twilight sighed.
When the two detectives entered town, they gasped. There was Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Apple Bloom selling the cider!
"Hay! Apple Jack's been wondering were that cider was." Pinkie chimed.
So they walked up the Apple family and explained to them that Apple Jack was looking for the cider.
Once they finished, Granny Smith shook her head.
"It's been three years we had this cider." Smith explained.
'So we decided to sell it to pay off the dept of ten bucks that we owe." Apple Bloom informed.
"Yep." Big Mac said.
Pinkie Pie beamed. "Well in that case, I want ten cups."
Apple Jack was pacing back and forth when Twilight came with a drunk Pinkie floating above her.
"What happened to you all?" The country mare asked.
Twilight explained what happened to the cider and Apple Jack sighed. "Well thanks for letting me know."
Twilight nodded and walked away with Pinkie Pie floating above her.
Twilight and Pinkie Pie walked into the Carasol Boutique only to see Rarity wearing a mask. "Rarity? Why are you wearing a mask?" Twilight asked.
"Because somepony stole my moisturizing cream! Now my face is hideous!" Rarity cried. Pinkie Pie gasped. "We need to find this culprit and we need to find him/ her now!"
Twilight sighed. It's probably just missed placed. She thought.
Pinkie Pie and Twilight searched around the boutique but came empty hoofed.
"This just doesn't make any sense!" Twilight groaned.
"Yes it does darling. It means that somepony took my moisturizing cream." Rarity said through her mask.
Pinkie nodded and bounced out the door. Followed by a very confused Twilight.
The detectives soon came to downtown Ponyville and Pinkie took out her megaphone.
"Has anypony seen Rarity's moisturizing cream!" the pink pony shouted.
A bunch of ponies looked at Pinkie but shook their heads and continued their business. Pinkie was about to try again when suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Twilight saw Sweetie Bell running into the Carasol Boutique.
"Let's go back into the boutique." Twilight whispered to Pinkie.
"YOU WHAT!!!" The two detectives galloped into the boutique when they saw Sweetie Bell crying.
"I thought it was toothpaste!" Sweetie cried.
Rarity tried to be angry at her little sister. However, the very thought of Sweetie Bell brushing her teeth with moisturizing cream was enough for the unicorn to fall on the ground laughing.
"You're not mad?" the filly asked.
Rarity got up and whipped a tear from her eye.
"I think you got your punishment." she replied.
Pinkie Pie looked at a flower vase and laughed.
"Can You believe that she thought the cream was toothpaste?" she laughed.
Twilight looked at Pinkie in confustion. "Who are you talking too?" she asked.
The pink mare looked at the alicorn and gave a toothy grin.
"The person reading this." Twilight shook her head and the two detectives left the two sisters.
