During a long night run in Gotham City, a mysterious black figure comes across a portal that leads to a world that he has never met before. He was in a for a very big, yet colorful surprise.
During a long night of crime in the infamous Gotham City, the caped crusader of crime known as Batman stumbles into an unknown portal that leads to another universe. Batman must now find his way back to Gotham City but, it won't be easy getting back if he can't survive any of the challenges that he will overcome in the world known as Equestria.
Author's Note: This is a crossover of My Little Pony, and Batman. Feel free to tell me any problems or mistakes, that I made in my fan fiction. Any concerns/questions tell me, immediately.
Falling through the portal, landing on the soft green grass blowing in the wind. The brisk night moon shining down on the ground while all of the citizens of Ponyville are sleeping safe and sound in their homes. The dark mysterious figure with a black suit emerged from the ground, looking around the center of Ponyville with all of the lights shining on the sidewalk.
Trotting over to the flickering lights from the library, looking up to the library where the unicorn known as Twilight Sparkle was sleeping soundly in her bed. Twilight swaying her arms back and forth uncomfortably, pushing her pillow over her two ears trying to ignore the ruckus outside caused by a mysterious pony with a black suit and long black cape. This must be a mistake. I was not expecting any company late at night, at this hour. She let out a high pitched yell, so loud that even a tiny decibel of noise could wake up anypony that is sleeping tonight. However, she felt that investigating the noise outside could finally lead to some peace tonight.
'' Well, I guess I'll investigate the noise while Spike is sleeping.'' Sneaking past Spike on her four hooves silently tip-toeing, trotting down the stairs quickly reaching the front door. Opening up the front door, looking out in front of the door as the dark mysterious figure known as Batman showed Twilight his presence.
'' Who are you?!'' Twilight's horn shines a purple aura, glowing a bright purple light in front of the door. The purple light circled around Batman standing in front of the door, not showing any response to her question nor her magic.
He looked over at Twilight Sparkle, rolling his eyes to the side not even caring about what she just did. I am so not amused by, what this magical talking purple horse is doing to me. Bruce thought to himself, clearing his throat ready to reveal to the very curious unicorn on who he is. '' I am Bruce Wayne, also known as the caped protector of Gotham City. I'm the vengeance of the night, the protector of good, I am the jar for your pickle. I..am..Batman!'' Thunder starts to erupt in the clouds with a huge bolt of lightning, Twilight looking very astonished at Bruce's introduction.
'' Well, then. I think that I just discovered a new species in Equestria. I'd better tell, Princess Celestia! Skipping around on her four hooves in joy, running into the house. Taking Bruce into the house by grabbing his hoof, dragging him into her humble library house with the wind blowing outside the library.
As Twilight finishes her random rambling about their princess, Bruce covers her mouth with his hoof. '' If you value your life, do not tell any of your friends or family that I'm Batman. If you do, my entire reputation will be disgraceful.'' Looking over at him, her eyes start to grow bigger with his mention of his reputation in Gotham City. ''I..promise.''
'' Twilight Sparkle, can you let me stay with you since I'm new to this mysterious world that you live in?'' A concerned grin formed on Bruce's face, taking off his mask putting it on Twilight's desk. A mysterious fog forms outside of Twilight's library, with the moon reflecting off of the night lights downstairs in the library.
'' Sure, why not. Introducing you to a lot of wonderful friends here in Ponyville, could do you some good.'' Twilight Sparkle uttered to Bruce. ''But first, we might need to hide your identity a little. You know, to keep your identity a secret.''
Bruce looked at Twilight with a very expressionless look on his face, rolling his eyes in a very nonchalant fashion. '' I'll be okay with that Twilight, but we need to find a way to make the portal that brought me here return again!''
Twilight Sparkle looking at Bruce, scratching the back of her head with her hoof confused. ''Bruce, there is just one problem. I do not know how to bring back this mysterious portal yet until, I read more books to know more about this portal. So until I find something in my library or any book that refers to the portal that your mentioning, you will have to lay low.''
''Fair enough, Twilight. But, how will I be able to live by the standards of a mysterious world that I know nothing about? Bruce stated to Twilight, sweat dripping from his forehead from being too nervous about not being able to learn about living a new lifestyle that he is not used to. ''Plus, I don't have a reception connection from Alfred or Robin from Gotham City.''
The brisk autumn leaves blowing in the wind, the moon shining down on all of Ponyville with all of the citizens sleeping everypony except Bruce Wayne and Twilight Sparkle still trying to resolve Bruce's problem.
Feeling a bit disgruntled, Bruce walks over to the sink getting ready to wash his face. Placing his hooves under the sink water, the water dripping down on his hooves with Twilight rummaging through her books to find a solution to the mysterious portal that brought Bruce Wayne here in the first place. ''So, how's the solution to bringing me back to Gotham City coming along Twilight?'' Trotting down the stairs, walking up behind Twilight while she is searching through the books.
''I haven't exactly found any solution yet but, I'll teach you on how to make friends.'' Twilight smirked, with a huge smile on her face. She rubbed her hooves together with glee, sparkling stars start to form in her eyes. ''So tell me about yourself, Bruce.''
''My parents are dead.... Bruce sighed, looking out the window in disgust. ''I know it sounds depressing, but my parents were shot down in an alley after we left a play that showed my fear of bats.'' The dark and luminous sky flourished with glowing white stars signifying a huge black bat in the sky. Wiping away the tears in his eyes, looking up at the stars showing his bat symbol. Twilight Sparkle hovered a hanky above her horn, wiping away Bruce's tears. A new knight would soon be born...''Everything is going to be okay, Bruce.'' Trotting over to Twilight, wrapping his arms around her, hugging her very tightly.
A beautiful new morning starts in the glorious place known as Ponyville, birds chirping, a nice smell of morning coffee, and leaves falling from the bright morning autumn trees. With a new day starting, Twilight Sparkle is determined to help Bruce Wayne fit in Ponyville even if he doesn't want to fit in yet. She was able to make friends when she first discovered the five friends that she would soon befriend. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rarity are all willing to help Twilight on her quest to help Bruce make friends.
Smelling the freshly brewed morning coffee, Twilight trotted downstairs turning her head in disbelief at Spike preparing her delicious morning breakfast that she is most accustomed to eating on a very great morning. ''Thank you for the delicious morning breakfast, Spike!'' Twilight hugging Spike, wrapping his arms around him. Sitting down at the kitchen table, munching down a delicious spread of dandelion sandwiches, apples, and hay bacon strips.
''How are you enjoying this breakfast, Twilight?'' Spike asked Twilight. Frying up some more hay bacon strips in a frying pan, smiling over at Twilight. Watching Owliscious flying around the library looking for something to do, sighing very hard in a spirit of complete boredom. ''It's a good thing, that this owl and I were able to let bygones be bygones.
Bruce trotted down the stairs clumsy, rubbing his tired eyes which were covered mostly by crust. ''Twilight, who is this dragon?'' Looking suspiciously at the purple dragon known as Spike who has been by Twilight's side ever since they first met, squinting his eyes menacingly at Spike. I do not trust this dragon at all. I should know since I've fought Joker, Two Face, Penguin, Poison Ivy, and other famous villains. Walking over to the kitchen table, throwing a hay bacon strip in his mouth. Munching down on the bacon strip, looking over at Twilight wondering. ''I also, wonder why this tastes like hay.''
''I think it's because, your used to whatever you eat. So anyway, I invited my five friends to meet you and try to teach you the way on how to accept friendship into your life!'' Walking over to Bruce, putting her arm over him. Swaying him back and forth in a very comfortable motion, patting him on the back. ''Time for you to meet the other five Elements of Harmony, Bruce!''
Walking into the library were the five ponies that helped Twilight actually care about friendship. Applejack: The Element of Honesty, Rarity: The Element of Generosity, Rainbow Dash: The Element of Loyalty, Pinkie Pie: The Element of Laughter, and finally... Fluttershy: The Element of Kindness! Bruce looking shocked at the five graceful ponies, who represent the five Elements of Harmony while Twilight Sparkle represents the sixth element known as Magic.
''Howdy, Bruce! My name is Applejack, a very humble pleasure to meet ya' sir!'' Applejack kneels down on her four legs, tipping her hat down in a matter of respect to Bruce. Chuckling a little at Applejack's sudden introduction to him, Bruce starts clapping his hooves together but not in a amused, happy matter. Flying above Bruce's head rapidly, flying down with her wings spread out in a very impressive fashion was the pegasus known as Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash grabs a cup of water, throwing the water into the air, jumping up in the air. Spreading her wings out, flying around the water in an orderly fashion, the water evaporates forming a very colorful rainbow.
''I'm basically the best flyer in all of Equestria! My one and only dream, is to join my idols known as the Wonderbolts so I can impress everypony with my amazing skills! I'm pretty loyal to my friends whenever that they are in danger, I can do my best to help Twilight. Also, look amazing while I'm performing my amazing stunts!'' She whips her tail over at Bruce, sending a huge whiplash from the impact of her tail. Bruce falling back on his flank, his flank revealed a black bat symbol from the classic TV show Batman: The Animated Series.
Pinkie Pie brings out her party cannon, the cannon starts shooting out balloons, cake, and party decorations for Bruce's first day here in Ponyville. ''You know, what it's time for? A party! Bruce, you should listen to Twilight since she was never into making friends when she first came to Ponyville. We're here to help her accomplish what you were never interested in the first place, friendship!'' She said, giving Bruce a big welcome hug by wrapping her arms around him. Pushing Pinkie Pie away from him, sending her crashing into a huge vanilla frosted cake.
''I don't need any friends! I'd rather be alone than, be with you crazy colored ponies. If I were you, I would not follow me anywhere because I do not consider you guys as my friends! Slamming the door behind him in a huff, trotting away to the dangerous forbidden forest known as the Everfree Forest. Twilight and her friends gaze in awe, shedding tears as their friend runs away to the forest. Wiping away their tears, trotting out of the library following his hoof prints.
''Come on, girls! Let's go get, Bruce back! Twilight shouted, running to the Everfree Forest with her friends.
The sun starts to set in the horizon of Ponyville, where Bruce Wayne went off into the Everfree Forest. The Cutie Mark Crusaders just so happen to be wandering around the Everfree Forest as well, but they were in search of a rare gem that would guarantee their cutie marks will appear if they wish hard enough for them to appear. The stars start to form another huge bat signal in the sky, as the sun starts to go down completely with the addition of Luna's moon rising up in the sky.
''It's finally time that we get our cutie marks, Crusaders!'' Apple Bloom said, jumping up in the air with excitement. Walking into the dangerous forest where mysterious creatures reside in the forest, not only that but she is going into the Everfree Forest with her two fellow crusaders. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, walking side-by-side with Apple Bloom as they enter the most dangerous part of the forest. The owls causing ruckus in the forest, bats hanging upside down in the caves, with the dark atmosphere of the forest means that the three fillies were in for a big surprise.
''I am so ready to get my cutie mark, I hope that it's a burning scooter wheel! I'm so ready to take this forest to the extreme!'' Scootaloo said, fluttering her wings, lifting herself off the ground slightly.
''I can't wait to find that rare gem, to get a cutie mark that resembles a microphone since I do have a good talent of singing!'' Sweetie Belle said, with a high pitched squeaky voice. Her horn starts to spark a little with a light blue aura, gazing over at her horn's aura shining over to the right, where the rare gem for cutie marks is revealed.
Meanwhile, the Mane 6 are still on the hunt to show Bruce the true meaning of friendship to guide him in the right direction to bring him back to where he belongs in Gotham City. Twilight stops at a dead trail, where Bruce's hoof prints stopped near the bat cave where all of the bats hang upside down to sleep at night.''Well, this is where the trail ends. This can not be, Bruce's trail can not just stop right here at a bat cave and simply vanish without a trace!'' A huge purple aura sparks from Twilight's horn, the long trail of Bruce's hoof prints continue to where the Cutie Mark Crusaders found the rare gem.
Applejack gulping down her saliva in her throat, worried about where her beloved Apple Bloom went. Sweating very heavily in a very nervous fashion, she starts pacing around in a circle, tapping Twilight on her back. ''Twilight! We need to go find my dear, sweet little sister Apple Bloom. I keep trying to tell her that the Everfree Forest is dangerous, but she never listens to me!''
Fluttershy becomes startled at the owls and other animals causing disturbances, hiding in a bush nearby scared to death by all of the noises and events going on around her. ''Oh my, this forest is way too dangerous for any pony to be in or just hang around with the animals. This forest is just not natural, it has creepy animals, creepy trees, and even though it has Zecora living here it is still not safe for anyone to just be safe in this forest!'' She screamed to the top of her lungs, bats start flying out of the caves, owls flew off of the tree branches.
Twilight and her friends bump into the three young fillies, knocking the three fillies on their backs. ''Twilight, we found a gem that can magically get our cutie marks in no time! Apple Bloom said, waving the red magical gem in Twilight's face.
''Well Twilight, I am back. I've thought about it after hanging upside down in the cave for a while, and I'm willing to accept your friendship if you can find a portal spell in your books.'' Bruce hovers down from the bat cave, landing next to Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
''Let's go home, ya'll!''The Cutie Mark Crusaders along with the Mane Six trot away from the Everfree Forest, with the addition of bringing Bruce Wayne back to Ponyville. They may be able to bring the portal that he arrived in, but first they may have to regain his strength back in a trial of battle and wits.
Twilight and her friends return Bruce Wayne back to the library, they have to introduce Bruce to the difficult trials that he must first conquer to finally learn the true meaning of friendship. Just like his demon trials with Ra's Al Ghul, but these trials require heart, determination, and possibly friendship.
The first trial is fighting his inner demons, the very sickening memory of his parents shot dead, right in front of his eyes after a play of his worst psychological fear of bats. The Mane Six would have to dig deep into Bruce's psyche, to figure out why he's been acting so depressed lately, even in a universe filled with friendly colorful ponies!
Bruce trotted back into the library, putting his black bat mask, and strapping his long resilient black cape on his back. ''Time for me, to finally conquer my parents death after years of psychological depression.'' The rain smacking off of the library windows, the loud sounds of thunder echoing in the dark, luminous, and gloomy clouds. Rain drops pattered against the glass windows, the gloomy skies were luminescent with dark, and stormy clouds.
Trotting out of the library silently, drenched out in the rain, reminiscing the tragic day when his parents were gunned down by Joe Chill, the disturbing images in Bruce's head showed his own mom and dad mugged by the unknown assailant, Joe Chill. Joe pulled the trigger of his pistol, shooting both of Bruce's parents down with the bullets. Traumatized by the events of that day, Bruce opened his eyes in shock. Crouching down on his hooves, lifting his arms up to the sky in anger, still drenched by all of the rain pouring all around him.
Twilight walks out from the library, kneeling down to Bruce on one hoof. ''Bruce, you have passed the first trial. You have only two trials left to defeat, then you will finally find peace in your life. I know it is hard for you to let your parents death go, but we're going to do this together.'' She said, comforting Bruce under her long, and broad arms.
One trial down, two trials remain. Bruce was able to conquer his fears for now, he must now find the determination to take on one of the Mane Six. He has the opportunity to pick the pony that he gets to face. Let's begin! The clouds start to open a small ray of flourishing sunlight, the animals all start cowering in fear as Bruce Wayne picks his opponent, Twilight Sparkle!
The two stand across from one another, looking into each others eyes with high levels of determination. The fiery burning passion in Twilight's eyes start to spread all throughout her body, rushing out to Bruce, jumping over his head.
Twilight's horn starts sparkling with a light purple aura, her horn shoots out a huge burst of magic out at Bruce, sending Bruce crashing into a huge row of trees. The sky starts to darken, along with the sun descending away for the night, Bruce hangs upside down from a weakened tree, sneaking up behind Twilight Sparkle undetected. Covering her muzzle slowly, covering her mouth to keep her quiet, wrapping both of his arms around her head and neck, putting her to sleep silently.
Twilight falling out of Bruce's mighty grip, laying out unconscious on the cold, hard grass. Splashing a bucket of water on her face, waking up off of the grass, and trotting up to Bruce dazed. ''You have now, defeated the second trial. Only one trial left to go! Then, we will finally be able to get that portal open for you.''
With the progression rapidly going well, only one trial remains until Bruce is finally able to go back to Gotham City to protect the innocent civilians who get robbed on a daily basis. It all comes down to this, Bruce must now defeat a manticore all by himself to proceed on to the true meaning of friendship.
Walking into the Everfree Forest, approaching the Manticore attacking the innocent animals in the forest by lashing out with it's ferocious claws, ready to claw them into pieces. Pouncing behind the ferocious Manticore getting ready to attack, Bruce sneaks up behind the Manticore silently, knocking out the beast by hitting it across the skull with a huge punch.
Twilight appears behind Bruce, tapping him on the shoulder. ''The last trial has been completed, Bruce. Time for us, to head back to the library to find the portal resurrection spell.'' Twilight and Bruce start heading back to the library, the Manticore lays on the grass, knocked out.
Crowds of excited ponies, start filling the front of library anxiously waiting for Bruce to emerge from the Twilight's library after the Mane Six were able to bring him back in one piece. Meanwhile, Twilight is trying to find the portal resurrection spell in one of her books but to no avail.
The strong winds blow all around Ponyville; Bruce begins putting on his mask and cape, nodding his head at Twilight with a cunning grin on his face. ''I'm ready, Twilight.'' Bruce said, confidently.
She starts rummaging with a huge pile of spell books, locating the portal resurrection spell book. ''Okay, Bruce. I found the spell book that will return the mysterious portal that you came to Ponyville in. Any last words, before you go?
Bruce turns around, acknowledging the six ponies. ''I would like to say, thank you. You ponies are the only good thing that has ever happened to my life. I really don't want to go back to Gotham City, but I must protect the citizens of Gotham!''
''We can honestly say, that we will miss you too Bruce. We hope that you learned the power of friendship, it may not always work out but it's always worth fighting for.'' Twilight exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Bruce, hugging him.
Focusing all of her magic from studying the spell, the enlarged portal appears in the bookcase of the library where all of Twilight's spell books start to fall into the portal. ''Next Destination: Gotham City'' The portal opens a little wider, sucking Bruce into the portal. ''Farewell my friends, until we meet again!''
The portal closes completely, leaving the six ponies distraught by the lost memory of their beloved friend. Bruce Wayne will forever live in their memories, and in their hearts.
Reminder: Folks, it has been a wonderful ride. But, this is the last and final chapter of A New Knight Rises. So if you enjoyed it, there may be a sequel to this in the near future. For now, enjoy the final chapter!
Falling out of the portal once again, landing on his coveted batmobile in the Batcave. Alfred looks over at Bruce, surprised that he returned after a few days. ''Welcome back, Master Bruce.'' Still polishing Bruce's golden trophies, that he won in a bachelor auction at the Iceberg Lounge.
''Sorry, about being gone for so long Alfred. I probably missed a lot, since I was fighting the Joker with Nightwing and Robin until, I disappeared into this mysterious portal with magical talking, colorful ponies.''
Alfred raises a questionable eyebrow at Bruce, confused. ''Sir, I have no idea what your talking about. Colorful ponies, Magic, and Friendship?'' The cylinders that hold Bruce's bat suits slide open, the bat signal shining up in the night sky.
The cave entrance opens up, Bruce drives the batmobile out of the batcave. A huge pattern of stars start shining in the sky, forming the words known as: Friendship is Magic. Bruce's journey for friendship has now closed it's final chapter, but the future may hold another ending to this book on weird disturbances. For now, the Dark Knight of Gotham City rises again!
