Its the day...
The day of Spikes 18th Birthday...
The day...
Where Spike Leaves...
For good...
At Twilight Sparkles house, Spike was having the best party of his life, not only was the Mane 6 there, but all the citizens Spike knew of in Ponyville were there!
As a matter of fact, Spike was given gifts, but everyone laid off on giving him to many gifts, just in case. But by the time it was 7 O' Clock it was time for Spike to make his big speech...
"Ahem, may I have everypony's attention?" said Spike tapping his wine glass with his claw. Everypony gave Spike the attention he wanted and stopped their chatting.
Spike started his speech,
"Well uh, gosh, I don't know what to say. Thank you everypony for the wonderful 18th birthday party, I mean seriously! Thanks! And... Well... As you know, I won't be here tomorrow, er, or any other day, because everypony knows when a dragon has reached 18, he has to leave his current residence to make a family of his own...So...I can't stay in Ponyville any longer."
Sudden chatter began as everybody was wondering about why Spike couldn't stay, so he continued,
"I-I know it will be hard to live with me being gone, but just keep your heads up and your spirits high, and just remember that I'm happy that I met each and everyone of you...And I mean it."
A sudden silence started as glum and teary faces looked up at Spike, but then as Pinkie pie was crying her last tear, she then gave a smile. And began to clap for her friend, then the rest of the Pony's began to clap as well...
Spike released a small grin and he began to tear up at the fact of all the Pony's were clapping for him... And he knew... He was loved...
Spike Began to cry and said,
"*sniff* T-Thank you all...Now, lets have one last group cheers before this party ends. Cheers?"
The Pony's Quickly answered with a loud, "Cheers!" as they clinked there glasses together with one another...

By it was 9 o' clock it was the end of Spike's party and everypony has headed home except for the mane 6...
"Well gals...Its time for me to go..." explained Spike.
"S-So soon?" Asked Fluttershy.
"Yeah. I shouldn't waste anymore time..." replied Spike.
And it was time for the Mane 6 to say their final goodbyes...
First came Applejack to walk up to Spike saying, "Well Spike, I have to admit it was a pretty nice time havin' ya'll 'round, but, I guess some friends just can't stay forever..."
Applejack started to shed tears as she gave him a hug, Spike replied,
"Thanks Applejack, I'll miss you..." Applejack released Spike and stood out of the way for the next goodbye.
Pinkie Pie Came next, immediately she gave him a hug hug and started sobbing.
"I-I-I'll m-miss youuu...."
Spike hugged back and said "I'll miss you too Pinkie pie."
Applejack had to forcefully remove Pinkie Pie from Spike, because she knew Pinkie could hug Spike and not let go for a while.
Next came Fluttershy already crying giving Spike a hug,
"I'm going too miss you Spikey..." said Fluttershy squeezing Spike as hard as she could.
"Hehe! I-I miss you too Fluttershy!" said Spike hardly being able to breath from Fluttershys huge hug, She let go and moved out of the way for the next Pony.
It was Rainbow Dash next, Spike let out his fist for a bro-hoof, but instead Rainbow Dash lunged forward to hug Spike.
"*sniff* I-I'm going to miss you Spike!" said Rainbow sobbing,
"I'll miss you too Rainbow." said Spike.
Rainbow Dash (who has never cried over anyone this much before) flew out of the way with the other ponies for the next goodbye...
It was Twilight...
Spike was first to hug Twilight before she could hug him.
Spike bursted out crying with the biggest hug he could give and said...
"T-Twilight, you were like the sister I never had...I....I love you! I-I'm g-gunna miss you so much!"
Spike could barely finish that sentence because he was crying so much.
Twilight hugged him back saying,
"Oh Spike, you grew so much, I'm so thankful you came into my life, I'll miss you more then anything in the world...I love you too...Number one assistant..."
Twilight shut her eyes and began to cry too...
After a long moment Spike finally decided to let go of Twilight... But there was one last Pony to say goodbye...
It was Rarity...
...
His lifelong crush...
...
Spike just stared at Rarity...Speechless...He built up his guts and began to say,
"Well Rarity, t-this is it..." Rarity gave Spike a sudden hug and began to cry. She's never cried this much over any Stallion before...
"S-Spike!" she cried out...
Rarity was so sad, she remembered all the help Spike has done for her, he made her laugh, he made her cry at times...But then she had one more thought...
She remembered the fire ruby Spike had given her...And him admitting...He had a crush on her.....
Spike felt light headed with love and sad due to leaving all at the same time...
Rarity Knew she couldn't stop him from leaving...So she gave him one last kiss...On the lips...
Spike found himself blushing and crying all at the same times...Though the kiss wasn't long, she finally knew who she loved...
Rarity couldn't stay any longer, she galloped away back to her house without any warning...
Spike assumed the kiss was her goodbye, so he didn't think of her not saying goodbye...But...His heart sunk... Spike knew... She would never see Rarity.
...Ever...Again...
Spike eventually waved goodbye as the other Pony's waved as well...And with his new wings flew away to who-knows-where...
To never return...

2 1/2 months later...
It was raining heavily, and in Carousel Boutique, though it usually isn't quiet. It was mainly because Spike was usually helping with Rarity...
But, things just changed so suddenly since Spike left Ponyville...
Rarity was sowing again, but even her job wasn't the same without her faithful dragon helper.
Rarity felt sorrow, a sorrow she's never really felt before.
It was like somebody ripped her heart right out of her chest, and its causing he blood to slowly deplete.
Could this mean something? She couldn't put her hoof on it.
But there was something about that dragon that she she missed the most...
Was it the fact that he admitted a crush to her? Was it the Fire Ruby? What was it?
But then there was a knock on the door, "I'm coming!" she said walking to the door with her head hung low.
She opened the door...
It....
Was Spike...
"H-hey Rarity!" Spike said with a big yet corny smile.
Rarity was astonished...
She couldn't believe it was Spike!
She was so overfilled with joy she immediately jumped out of the house onto Spike with her arms wide open for a hug!
She cried tears of sorrow mixed with tears of true happiness.
"R-Rarity I uh--?" Spike Started.
Rarity didn't even let him finish his sentence because he began to kiss him on the lips as hard as she could.
It was a long kiss, her hair was soaking wet from the rainfall, and Spike was loving it from the way he was blushing with his eyes closed.
Rarity then finally released him from her lips and began to wonder...
Why did he come back?
She then stuttered "W-Why Did you r-return to Ponyville? S-Shouldn't you be finding your self a f-female dragon to be your true love?"
Spike Replied,
"I realized that I found my true home was here in Ponyville and that everypony that lives here was my true family. And also I don't need a true love because..."
He got onto his knees and said.
"Rarity....
...
your my true love..."
She was speechless... Her heart pounding like a gong just rang, releasing chips and cracks with such a hard ring.
"S-Spike...I dunno what to s-"
"I know, its very sudden, and you would never love me because I'm a dragon and all, and-"
"Spike! Stop it!"
She hollered, Causing Spike's Eyes to widen.
"You don't need to worry about any of that...." She Started. "Because I've realized that...I love you too Spike."
Spike's heart skyrocketed like it was launched to the moon!
She locked lips with him again...This time longer...
After releasing she said, "Come on Spike, you look cold, come on inside and I'll get you something nice and warm to drink."
Spike nodded and followed her inside.
And Rarity finally found why she missed Spike the most...
It Was Because She loved him...
