It was a cold night. Cody was stood by Starlights cot, looking down at her. He smiled. She looked so peaceful when she slept. She was purple with blue hair, almost like her mother. He noticed the window open so he trotted over and closed it. The cold wind had stopped coming in. Cody took one last look at Starlight and kissed her. Then, he crept out the room and into his own room.
He didn't bother to wear a night gown to keep himself warm. He wasn't afraid of the cold. He had Bright blue skin and red hair with a blue streak in it. He crept over to the mirror and studied himself for a moment, then crawled into bed. Twilight was sleeping softly beside him. He kissed her, then drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Twilight got up. Cody was still asleep. She trotted over to the mirror and levitated the brush. She gently brushed her hair until it was neat, then put the brush down. She trotted out the room carefully.
After this, she went to check on Starlight. She looked into the room from the hallway. Starlight was still there, sleeping. Twilight smiled and crept downstairs. She went into the kitchen and opened the cupboard. She decided to have Crunchy Nut. She levitated the box out of the cupboard and put it on the counter. Then, she closed the cupboard with her hoof. She opened another cupboard which had bowls in. She levitated it out and put it next to the cereal. Finally, she opened the fridge and got out some milk. She poured the milk into the bowl, then put the cereal in. She then got a spoon from another cupboard, and sat down at the table.
Instantly, she heard trotting on the stairs. It was Cody. "Good morning." He said, as he kissed her.
"Good morning. Did you just wake up?" Asked Twilight.
"Yes. Are we going to the store later?" Asked Cody.
"Actually, I'm going to stay here with Starlight, just to make sure she's safe." Twilight replied. Cody nodded and began making his breakfast. Cody was a unicorn too, so it was easy for him.
Once Twilight and Cody had finished their breakfast,
Twilight washed the bowls, while Cody turned on the TV. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Both ponies looked at each other. It came again, but louder.

Cody trotted to the door. He gently put his hoof on the handle and opened it...
It was Rainbow Dash! Cody let out a sigh of relief. "Hey Cody! I just wanna let you know that tonight it is going to be freezing! It's the coldest night in Equestria, so make sure you stay at home, ok?" She said.
"Ok Rainbow. Thanks for telling us." Thanked Cody.
"No problem! Seeya around!" And with that, she flew off. Cody closed the door. "Twilight! Tonight is going to be the coldest night in Equestria, so don't go outside, ok?" He shouted.
"Ok!" Shouted Twilight. Cody trotted up the stairs and into the bedroom. He opened his wardrobe and looked inside. He grabbed his coat and put it on. After this, he closed the wardrobe and headed downstairs. "Twilight! I'm going to the shop now!" He shouted.
"Ok! Be back soon!" She said. Cody opened the door and headed out into the sunlight.
He walked down the pavement. He didn't bother to say hi to anypony. He didn't want to get caught up in the cold. He came to a crossroad, and he couldn't remember the way. Luckily, there was a pony nearby who he could ask. He trotted up to the pony. "Excuse me! Could you please tell me the way to the shops?" He asked. The pony looked at him. "The shops? Sure. Go down the right path." He said.
"Thank you!" He said, and trotted off to the right side of the path. After a while of walking, he arrived in a forest. "Where am I?" He asked himself. "That pony must have got his directions messed up." He turned around, and walked back. When he arrived back at the crossroads, the pony had vanished. Cody ignored it, and went left instead. He finally arrived at the shops. He looked around at them all. He trotted over to the food shop.
Inside, their was lots of ponies buying things. He made his way over to the section everypony was looking at. There was a sale going on. He grabbed a basket and began grabbing food. Soup, salad and some baby food for Starlight. He trotted to the queue and waited. After a while of waiting, he finally paid for his things. The mare running the checkout gave him a plastic bag, and he began putting his food into the bag.

When he finished, he trotted out the store. He must have been in long, because already he felt a bit cold. He needed to get home. While walking home, he saw a family of ponies. A dad, a mum and two fillies. They were sat on the path with a bit of cardboard saying "Please give money". The fillies had been crying and were shaking. Cody felt sorry for them. They had to survive the cold night ahead. He got out 10 bits and put it in a tin can next to the sign. "T-thank you mister." Said one of the fillies. "It's ok. You keep safe now, ok?" Cody asked. The family nodded and thanked Cody again. After this, he made his way home.
He arrived at the door and opened it. He smelled curry. Cody loved curry. He came inside and hung his coat up. He went into the kitchen and noticed Starlight bashing her plastic fork against the high chair. "Hi sweetie." Cody said. Starlight stared at Cody for a moment and continued bashing the high chair. "I'm making chicken curry. Starlights having the usual." Said Twilight, not taking her eyes off the curry. Cody smiled and went into the living room. It was cold, so he went to close all the windows in the house.

Twilight finally finished her chicken curry. She got out four knives and forks and two plates. She gave Starlight her food and poured the curry onto each plate. "Cody!" She shouted.
Cody closed the last window and headed downstairs. There was his delicious chicken curry waiting for him at the table. He sat down and took a bite. "This is great!" Cody tried to say, while eating his food. "Don't talk with your mouth full Cody!" Said Twilight, sitting down at the table. Starlight was eating her food quietly. There's a cold night ahead...
