The Melody Within

Prolouge

Once upon a time, there was a lonely chimera who fell in love with a princess. The princess of the day to be exact. But because of his appearance, she was disgusted and turned him away. Desperate, he tried anything and everything to woo her until finally, at the end of his rope, he caused all sort of chaos and eventually took over Equestria. The princess and her sister decided to turn him into stone to get rid of him using six powerful objects: The Elements of Harmony. But instead of turning him to stone, he escaped, one of his wings injured and deemed unlikely for him to fly again and was forced to flee into the Everfree, never to be seen again.

"Is that the end of the story?" A white unicorn filly with a pink and purple mane asked with a frown on her face.
"I'm afraid so, girls." A pegasus with flowing pink hair and a buttery yellow coat replied, closing the book and putting it back on the shelf.
"Is the story true, Fluttershy?" A yellow earth pony filly with a red mane and pink bow asked their foal-sitter.
"Yeah! Is it?" An orange pegasus filly with a purple mane replied, her wings buzzing in suspense.
Fluttershy smiled as she turned off the light. "I don't know. Maybe." With that, she said, "But now it's time to go to bed." As she began to tuck the fillies in, sh couldn't help but giggle at their faces of disappointment at having to go to bed.
"Goodnight, Sweetie Belle. Goodnight, Applebloom. Goodnight Scootaloo."
"Goodnight Fluttershy."
As she closed the door, she went back downstairs and began to ponder. What if the story is real? She thought to herself.

Meanwhile in Canterlot, a pearly white alicorn with a fluorescent, green, pink, and blue mane was tossing back and forth in her bed, her mind in torment as a nightmare raged in her head.

It was dark and all of Equestria was in ruins. Pigs were flying, cotton candy clouds rained chocolate milk, the streets were turned into soap and their crops were growing legs and running away. It was pure chaos. Suddenly, she heard a low cackle. "Oh Celestia," The voice said in a sickening sweet voice, "You should've accepted me when you had the chance. Now, I will make all of Equestria suffer and then you'll know what it feels like to be alone! He opened his jaws and rushed at her, his razor sharp teeth glistening

Celestia woke up with a start.
"What is it, dear sister?" A smaller, blue alicorn asked, a concerned frown on her muzzle.
"Oh Luna! I had an awful dream and I think it's a sign."
"I've seen your dream, and this figure seems so familiar."
Celestia paled. She then called for a paper and pen. " I need to warn Twilight and the others. They need to be ready at all costs."
"You don't mean-"
"Yes, I do. He's back."

Deep in the Everfree, a creature with a limp wing began to practice his chaos magic, snapping his talons to make the trees turn into candy canes and cause cotton candy clouds to appear and rain down chocolate milk.
"Look out Equestria," The chimera cackled, "Discord's coming."
