The five mares that use to be human walked through the bustling city streets. "Should we split up?"
Rainbow Dash suggested. She trotted along on the cobble stone streets.

"We can probably figure out where Sunset is easier if we have more eyes and ears in more places." Rarity replied, enjoying the slight clop of her hooves on the stone.

"Alright girls, spread out!" Applejack commanded. "We’ll meet back here an hour and a half, and meet MnL."

"MnL?" Pinkie Pie was in Applejack’s face now.

"Yeah, a nickname I came up with. Y’all like it?" She tipped her cowboy hat slightly.

"I LOVE IT!" Pinkie Pie shot into the air.

"Pinkie, quite!" Rainbow hissed.

The pink pony stopped abruptly, levitating in the air. "OOOH, that's a new one!" Pinkie giggled before bouncing away from the group.

"Bye girls." Rarity waved at the three ponies.

"See y'all later." Applejack waved as she galloped down the street.

Fluttershy nudged Rainbow slightly. "If you don't mind Rainbow, I think I'll just stay with you."
Rainbow slapped Fluttershy with her wing, grinning as she said, "Flutters you can always stay with me."

RARITY

The white unicorn calmly waved awkwardly as she walked down the path. "Rarity." A stallion trotted up and hugged her slightly.

"Oh, hello..." Rarity stuttered.

The stallion was half an inch taller than her and was wearing a simple black coat. "Hello." The stallion dipped his head and kissed her left front hoof. "How goes business?" The two started to walk towards a simple fruit stall.

Rarity raced through all the memories she had of Twilight, trying to figure out which business the stallion was referring to. "Rarity, are you feeling well?"

Rarity cursed inwardly before saying quickly, "Yeah, I'm fine."

The stallion eyed Rarity with trepidation. "So, where's Spike?"

'Spike the puppy?' Rarity's mind raced "Probably with Twilight." She replied.

The stallion stopped, he eyed the mare strangely. "Rarity, I have to get going." The stallion waved as he walked away. 'Something's wrong' He thought.

APPLEJACK

Applejack was in awe at city and for the first time taking in the entirely new senses she had gained from becoming a pony. Fresh bread, cheerful songs, and freshly clipped grasses assaulted her senses. Applejack’s tail twitched, but instantly snapped between her legs 'Careful' She scolded herself for the near social taboo.

"Hey, darling." Applejack didn't have time to react before she was dragged into a deep kiss. Her eyes widened as he deepened the kiss. "I thought you and your friends were going to see Princess Celestia." He was a caramel coloured stallion with a short brown tail and a brown mane under a dark brown leather hat.

"Why?"

"You didn't hear? When I saw Twilight she said it had something to do with," he kneeled close to Applejack’s ear and whispered, "Princess Celestia's ex-student.

"Sunset Shimmer!" Applejack gasped.

"She didn't find you then?"

"Yeah." Applejack looked at the stallion in the eye and nearly faltered.

"Who are you?" His eyes where hard as granite.

"I'm Applejack." Applejack replied squaring herself up to the larger stallion.

"You may look like her, talk like, tartarus even smell like her!" He glared down on Applejack. "But you're not MY Applejack!"

"I AM APPLEJACK!" Ponies stopped and looked at the two earth ponies screaming at one another.
"Then say my name!" He snarled viciously.

"What!?" AJ took two steps back.

"My fiancé!" He bared his teeth while standing over Applejack. "Would know my name!"

PINKIE PIE

Pinkie giggled as she helped a unicorn hammer into a fence. "Thanks for your help, Pinkie." The unicorn mare hugged Pinkie gently.

"No problem." Pinkie bounced down the road.

"Hi, Pinkie Pie!"

Pinkie waved. "Oh hello!"

"Pinkie, let’s play a game of hoofy sack!" A colt yelled as she bounced by.

"Sure!" He kicked a bean ball at Pinkie. Instantly, she bounced from left back leg, to right, bounced it off her head, before finally bucking it back to the colt. "Have fun." She waved at colt.

"Will do!" The tiny colt laughed.

Pinkie's nose twitched, instantly she looked up at a two movers struggling to move a large furnace out onto a balcony. "Need some help!?"

"No thanks, Pinkie Pie." The two stallions waved slightly.

"Ok!" She waved at the two before bouncing away.

"Oh, hi Pinkie Pie!"

RAINBOW DASH/FLUTTERS

The two flew lazily over the streets. Well, Rainbow flew. Fluttershy mostly glided from roof to roof.
"Fluttershy, Rainbow!" A mare greeted the two.

Rainbow turned around, instantly recognizing the voice. "Spitfire!" Rainbow Dash greeted.

Spitfire glided next to Rainbow Dash. "So, Dash, have you changed your mind about joining the Wonder Bolts?" Spitfire questioned. Rainbow saw the glint of anger in her eyes.

"Nope." Rainbow replied, having no clue what the Wonder Bolts were. The yellow mare turned and started to fly away "Hey Spitfire?"

Spitefire replied with, "Yeah, Rainbow Dash?"

"Where would they take a prisoner?"

Spitefire eyed the mare strangely. Her golden eyes doing nothing to hide her anger. "The Castle, Captain."

She flew away from the two mares in a huff. "Was it something I said?" Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy questioningly.

"I think the other Rainbow Dash offended her." Fluttershy replied helpfully.

MnL

The brothers were snoring underneath a tree. "Pizza…" Mario mumbled. "Ravolli…" he continued.
"Cake…" With a jump Luigi got to his feet.

"Mario!" Mario jumped to his feet.

"Time to go?"

"Time to go." Luigi confirmed.

RARITY

The white mare calmly took a sip of tea. "How nice, giving me tea on the house." Rarity sighed as the tea's warmth spread through her.

A young mare waitress walked up to her. "Anything else, Ms. Rarity?"

"Actually, darling, I have a question." Rarity replied with a friendly smile.

"Ok, what is it?" The waitress looked nervously at her counterpart.

"I'm just wondering where they would take a recently arrested pony." Rarity asked smoothly.

"Well, probably to the castle."

"Thank you." Rarity stood up. "I'm sorry I don't have any bits on me right now. But I'll come back and give you a tip Ms-" She looked down at the waitresses name tag "-Ms. Blue Skies."
"Oh, thank you." Rarity trotted off with a smile.

APPLEJACK

Applejack and her counterpart’s fiancé glared at one another. "What are you, changeling?" He growled.

"I'm Applejack." AJ hissed fury.

"You're not." The stallion countered.

"I went to live with the oranges, but realized that my family on the farm was where I wanted to live." She was praying that this world’s Applejack did something similar.

"Everyone knows AJ’s cutie mark story."

"Pinkie Pie is a distant cousin."

"Pinkie doesn't make that a secret"

"What do I need to do to prove I'm Applejack!"

"Say my name!"

Applejack dug through mind. Trying to find any indicator for who he was, she didn't recognize the voice nor his hairstyle and fur colour. Her mind was bringing up nothing. And then it hit her like a flash. "Caramel!" The stallion faltered. 'Caramel!' Caramel was Applejack’s first crush back in the seventh grade, he was in high school. Her face became a deeper shade of red as a realization donned on her. 'I kissed Caramel', she squealed like a 7th grade child with her first crush.

"Apples." He kneeled over her.

"Got to go!" In a flash Applejack was around the corner, galloping so fast her legs became a blur. 'I kissed Caramel!' She repeated that quote in her mind over and over.

The two plumbers walked down the dirt path. "Ok bro, go for the rafters." Mario spoke rapidly in Italian.

"Go under the cart." Luigi suggested as they eyed a merchant cart being inspected by the guards.

"Ok, be careful." Mario replied.

"You to." Luigi looked at his big bro and high fives him.

"The rooftops; makes it harder for ponies and unicorns. We'll need to deal with Pegasus though." Mario could feel his heart beginning to pump faster.

"Let's a go!" Adrenaline coursed through their bodies.

"Hold!" A soldier called to the two bipeds racing towards the gate. Time slowed for the two brothers, instinct began to kick in. Mario dove into a roll, underneath the merchant’s cart. Spells being fired exploded on either side of him as he rolled towards the city. As he rolled out from underneath the cart the red plumber long jumped unto a wall, kicked off the wall and landed on the roof with a soft thump.

As this was happening Luigi jumped high into air and bounced off the top of the merchants cart. He flew straight into the open rafters and jumped from rafter to rafter, avoiding spell fired at him. As he reached the end of the rafters he long jumped into a flutter jump.

Time stopped as he raced towards the earth. He watched as Mario wall jumped onto the roof. "Bro!" Luigi cried out. Mario instantly turned around, the two reached out for one another as spells shot around the green cap. They met hands and Mario dragged Luigi onto the roof, just as a gutter exploded.

"Move!" Mario and Luigi raced across the roofs. A rainbow of spells fired at the two. They started sprinting in unison as the two causally crossed a gap. "Look for the girls!" Luigi stammered.
Mario did a twist as they flew over an ally. Luigi did a back flip over the next gap. "Show off." Luigi grinned at his big brothers comments.

Suddenly a yellow blur slammed Luigi into the roof. "Pegasus!" He gasped as the mare tried to choke him. Mario pounce the yellow Pegasus away, flinging her off the side of the roof.

"Keep going!" Mario stopped for a second, watching as the yellow mare managed to regain her flight in time to not crash into the ground. As the two bounced across the gap four shadows where cast over their heads. "We don't want to hurt you!" Mario tried to persuade the group.

Suddenly, the group was knocked out of formation by a rainbow blur. "Rainbow!" Luigi waved.

"Where is she?" Mario asked leaping over a small gap as he did.

"The Castle." Rainbow pointed at the massive white marble structure in the center of the city.

"Ok. Attack us, now!" Mario ordered quickly.

"What why?"

"You can't come into the castle, if you get hurt it will be on us." Luigi stated as he dodged a bright red spell.
Rainbow grumbled. "Ok, I guess." Rainbow dove straight at Mario. Mario caught her and sent the pony flying down to the road below.

"Castle, now." Mario said calmly.

SUNSET

Sunset had just done telling the full story about the fall of the Crystal Empire. She was looking away from Twilight Sparkle shamefully the entire time. "So, Bowser, he can alter gravity if he has those stars with him?" Twilight looked at Sunset for confirmation.

"Yes, as much as I can tell from the stories Mario and Luigi told us as we traveled." Sunset looked down.

"He was able to survive a full blast of the Crystal Heart?" Applejack looked worried.

"Apparently, he and his army."

"Sombra was utterly decimated by that blast though." Rarity was eyeing the unicorn with unbidden doubt at her story.

"I doubt Sombra could survive a star blowing up in his face though." Sunsets eyes shot up. It was Twilight Sparkle defending her story. She had a soothing smile on her face “Mario and Luigi, they're just outside of the city right now?"

Sunset face hoofed before groaning. "We need to go stop my friends before they try to storm Canterlot!"

MnL

The two laughed as they flew across the roof tops, the castle growing larger and larger as they got closer to it. Mario swore he heard a finger snap, and suddenly, all the shingle became banana peels. "OH NO!" Luigi screamed as they flew off the side of building. "Mama Mia!" Mario hollered as they fell towards the cement.
