That portal in the park

Boredom Walk

"UUGHHH!"
I had been sitting on the sofa for almost 2 hours, with nothing to do. I had flicked through every channel, numerous times, but there was nothing on,-well, nothing I liked was on anyway. Flipping to a different channel, I groaned when I saw what it was.

The BBC is everywhere!'

I sighed and slowly got up, very carefully moving Lola, my cuddly black and white dog, of my lap.

Ugh, my leg went to sleep again.

I hobbled upstairs uncomfortably due to my pins and needles, and made my way to my room. Jumping on my bed, I let my mind wonder as I stared at my mlp posters. Eventually, I decided to go for a walk with the two dogs. I went downstairs and got the dog lead, I didn't even have to call for them as their super-sonic hearing heard me grabbing the lead. I clipped them up and shouted to my mum I was going for a walk, I heard her reply from upstairs.

"Okay honey! But be safe! And take your phone! Careful when crossing the road!" And so on. I ignored most of it.

Once I reached the park, I was about to release the hounds when the girls started barking at a German Shepard. It was snarling at them like a cougar and pawing the ground slightly.

"OK... how about no" I mumbled.

I backed away from the growling dog, and went to the back of the park. It's usually to muddy down there, but I might as well switch it up. It became creepily dark and something didn't feel to right, yet I walked on anyways. Amongst the crunching of leaves and squelching of mud, the dogs were sniffing like mad, while tugging on the lead and gently grumbling.

Probably a squirrel, I mentally shrugged and let them lead.

Suddenly a bright light stung my eyes. The dogs were barking viscously so I slowly opened my eyes, to see a perfect oval of light. I quickly turned away before I was blinded. With my eyes still closed I leaned down and grabbed the closest twig. I opened my eyes and quickly threw it into the oval of light. It disappeared.

"Is this... some kind of prank? Why would they set this up here?"

I forced my self closer, tugging the dogs lead as well, and slowly put my pinkie finger in the oval.

"Huh!" I gasped.

"It's... lukewarm? Huh," I let more of myself in, the dogs went silent and were shivering so much it was like a massaging dog lead.

"This is an awful idea. This is how people die in horror movies"

I looked down at the dogs

"Come on girls," I whispered tugging them.

"Before I go blind, and change my mind!"
