Canterlot University- A Silver Belle Story

by GhostInAJar

Not all Tiaras are Diamond, but I am.

The next morning, a magenta earth pony with a lilac and white mane got up, bleary eyed and yawning. Her feathery hooves touched a carpet she hadn't known, and the mare almost recoiled in shock. Just before she emitted a gasp, however, she realised the coarse fabric of the carpet was one of the university she had moved into the day prior. Diamond Tiara's gasp of horror was replaced by a chuckle.

Her embarassed smile did not last long, however, as her room-mate stirred. The other earth pony was not one Diamond would have liked to see the minute she woke, but sadly she was unable to switch room-mates at the time. It was, in short, extremely annoying.

However, she was ready to take on Apple Bloom and her annoying ways. Of course, she had stopped taunting her long ago, but that didn't mean she could at all stand the farm pony. The rich mare shook her head as she thought about her best friend and the insufferable unicorn together. She pitied Silver Spoon, being stuck with that over-emotional dictionary. Still, at least the unicorn's singing was a useful talent. So what if Apple Bloom could build and craft? Big deal. Loads of ponies out there could. Not as many would be able to go on to be successful singers.

Herself, she grinned, had a wonderful talent. On her way to the vanity table, grabbing her hairbrush, Diamond looked at her own cutie mark. A tiara. It represented leadership, she had no doubt. Silver's.. well, she had never told anypony. Even so, it had to be better than the former 'Cutie Mark Crusaders' as they had anointed themselves.

Once her mane was as pristine as her tiara, Diamond finally turned to her room-mate, who had still not stirred past the groan she gave earlier. The magenta mare groaned herself, moving to Apple Bloom's bed.
"Get up."She told the cream pony."Get Up!"
Diamond gave up after a while, her calls getting more urgent as she tried to awaken the farm pony. Tiara huffed."I'd have thought she'd be up with the sun, considering she grew up on a farm." The lilac-maned mare snorted, walking away from Bloom so that she could sort out her make-up.

Around the same time, Silver Spoon had also awoken. Sweetie Belle was already up, but judging from her sluggish movements, it had only been a couple of minutes before Silver had. The unicorn's two-tone curls were messy and her fur was ruffled, like she had been writing about in her sleep. A nightmare, perhaps? Silver mused, before pulling back the covers and sliding out of her own bed.

"You okay, Sweetie Belle? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Silver began, only to recoil as Sweetie jumped, clearly having been lost in her thoughts.
"N-no, Silver. I-I was just thinking." The ivory unicorn replied, her voice almost monotone." I mean.. I'm in university, and not to be rude, but I'm stuck with a pony who bullied me since primary!" Sweetie spat." I don't know if I'm going to be able to take it! Promise me, promise now, that you will never taunt me again. Ever!" The unicorn said, her body trembling, almost in hysterics. Silver seemed to understand. When she was bullied in school, at least home was a safe haven, a place to hide from her troubles. Now she was here, with the bully and there was nothing she could do about it. The grey mare nodded, picking up her glasses, her sight now one-hundred-percent.

The lilac and rose maned mare nodded, visibly calmer now. Soon her demeanor was back to the cheeriness that was displayed most every day. Silver gave a small half smile as Sweetie Belle began to chatter a bit about how excited she was for classes to start. In all honesty, though she'd never admit it to anypony, so was Silver Spoon.

Perhaps this could work out.
