Chapter Two: A Brother's Secret

Applejack was in the room next to Big McIntosh, and she planned on getting answers for his very strange behavior earlier today in the orchard, so she exited her room.
KNOCK KNOCK. Applejack knocked on his door, hoping he wasn't asleep, and to her surprise, he wasn't.
Big Mac answered from his bed, " Eeyup, who is it?"
Applejack replied in stern voice, "It's Applejack, can ah come in? We need to talk."
"Eeyup," answered Big Mac as he got up from his bed to open the door to let Applejack in.
"Howdy sis, what's up with you?" asked Big Mac, not noticing his sister's tone of voice when she knocked.
"WHAT'S UP WITH ME, NO WHAT'S UP WITH YA'LL?!?!" yelled Applejack, but then she remembered she's not angry at him; she was more worried than anything.
"Whoa, hey what's wrong with you?" asked Big Mac, shocked by his sister's sudden uproar.
"Nothing, sorry, ah didn't mean to yell at ya'll like that. Ah'm just worried about ya'll is all," replied Applejack in a apologetic voice with a hint of worry, while not looking at him to hide her embarrassment for yelling at him.
Big Mac looked at his sister, feigning wonder about why she was worried about him, as if he had forgotten all about what happened earlier, but he hadn't. He just wanted to avoid talking about it.
"Why are you worried about me, AJ? "asked Big Mac.
Applejack walked over to Big Mac and sat next to him on the floor. "Ah'm worried about ya'll because of yer strange behavior lately."
"Heh Heh, what strange behavior?" asked Big Mac nervously with shifty eyes, hoping Applejack wasn't talking about earlier.
"What strange behavior?" Applejack repeated, mocking Big Mac, "How about you constantly staring into the sky for hours and hours, and not tah mention your random breakdown in the orchard earlier."
Hearing that caused Big Mac to hang his head in embarrassment, which caused his mane to cover his face, which was a bright shade of red, barely noticeable given his already red fur color.
"Well.. Umm.. I've just been thinking a lot about Ma and Pa is all," said Big Mac, not really wanting to tell his sister why he's been acting like how he's been acting lately.
"Come on Mac, I know how you act when you're thinking about Ma and Pa, and that is not it. Now come on, you can tell me whatever is troubling you. Ah'm your sister, and you can trust me," said Applejack while having her foreleg around her brother, letting him know that he can trust her.
"Ah know ah can trust you, AJ," said Big Mac while hugging Applejack and rustling some of her mane, knocking her hat off.
"Hey, watch the Hat," Applejack told Big Mac, giving him a glare that let him know not to touch her hat.
"Sorry bout that, AJ," replied Big Mac.
"So are ya'll gonna tell me what's bothering you or not?" Applejack asked with frustration.
Reluctantly, Big Mac felt it was time to tell his sister what was going on. "Well... Umm... Applejack I'm in l....
"You're in what, speak up, I can't hear a thing ya'll sayin," said Applejack because the last part of Big Mac's sentence went below a whisper.
"Well... I'm in l..." Not able to build up enough courage, That was all Big Mac could say once again.
"Spit it out already, Big Mac," Applejack said as she started to get frustrated with him.
OK, you can do this Big Mac, he said to himself and then finally, building up all of his courage, "I'M IN LOVE WITH FLUTTERSHY!"
After telling Applejack that, he hid his face behind his hooves, and Applejack just sat there with her mouth hanging open, but after taking a moment to process that, Applejack finally said, "So ya'll telling me the whole reason ya'll was acting strange is because of your love for Fluttershy?"
"Eeyup," said Big Mac in a low, embarrassed voice while still covering his face.
"Well why didn't ya'll just tell me from start?" asked Applejack.
"Well ah didn't think ya'll would appreciate me liking one of your friends to be honest, and I've been in love with her for a while noW," said Big Mac, hoping he hadn't upset his sister.
"To be honest Big Mac, ah would rather you like one of my friends instead of some strange pony that ah don't know," replied Applejack.
"So you're not mad at me then?" asked Big Mac.
"Of course ah'm not mad at you. You're my brother and ah love you, but also ah trust you to make good decisions," said Applejack before hugging her brother and getting up to leave his room, but before she could, Big Mac stopped her.
"Thanks, AJ," said Big Mac, giving his sister a big smile.
"Of course," said Applejack before finally leaving Big Mac's room.
