Princess Filly'tia

Chapter 4 - Shadows in the Day

Celestia was awoken with a whistle. The train had stopped in Ponyville. She could tell because no one else was on the train, and there were a bunch of ponies outside the window. At least that's what she thought, which was disproven when she got picked up and put on a pony's back.

"Sleep well princess?" Twilight Sparkle asked. Celestia could only nod, still half groggy from her slumber. As they left the train, she looked around. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a cloaked figure leave the end of the train, enter into a crowd, and completely disappearout of sight.

"Ugh, thats the last time I dine on midnight cakes." Celestia muttered.

"What's up Tia?" Twilight asked.

"Don't worry about it, let us continue." Celestia said. Twilight smiled. She met up with the rest of the Mane 6.

"Hey girls." Twilight said.

"Oh... Um Hello Twilight." Fluttershy said.

"What took you so long?" Rarity asked.

"Sorry was waiting for little Tia to wake up." Twilight joked. Celestia's face turned red.

"Well, I hafta get back home, Granny Smith needs me." Applejack said.

"How about we all meet at Sugarcube Corner tomorrow? It might help if we all got a good nights sleep." Pinkie Pie stated.

"Good idea, well meet tomorrow at noon?" Rainbow asked. Everyone nodded, and said their goodbyes.

Fluttershy was happy to make it home, she had been away from her little friends for too long, and knew Angel couldn't handle everyone for more than a couple days. On her way back to her cottage, she noticed a cloaked figure running past her through the trees. She smiled and looked at it. It looked at her.

"Hello Shadow." She said. He nodded, then disapeared in the trees. She only smiled.

Twilight walked in, an exhausted Alicorn filly on her back. She sighed. It hadn't taken much to exhaust Celestia, seeing as she had only walked about ¼th of the way to the Library before complaining to Twilight. She shook her head, and sighed even more. Looking around, Spike, her best assistant, had left all of his toys out in the open.

Celestia's eyes widened as she saw all of the toys, the Princess part of her mind fighting the filly part. She climbed off of Twilight's back, looked at the toys one more time, then charged into the pile, hugging a giant teddy bear. Twilight couldn't help but smile at how cute Celestia was.

It was at that point, that Twilight had heard a loud knocking at the door. Curious to who would be bugging her at this point and time, Twilight hastily looked back at Celestia. She too had heard the knocking, and jumped into a pile of stuffed animals, only her eyes peeking out. Then the knocking resumed even louder than before. Twilight went to answer the door, but just as she got it open a crack, a speedy pink blob ran past Twilight. It was none other than Pinkie Pie. The creator of happiness and destroyer of the fourth wall.... whatever a fourth wall was.

"Hi Twilight, I know we promised to meet tomorrow at Sugercube Corner, but I just came over to remind you that tomorrow is a very special day." She said, walking by the pile of stuffed animals. "Hey Tia, you're gonna need to hide better than that to avoid Auntie Pinkie Pie!" She said, without even taking so much of a glance at the pile. Twilight stood there in awe, before she realized the door was still open. She shut it, and made her way to the stuffed animal pile. Celestia was working her way on digging herself out, and Twilight smirked at the attempt. She used her magic to pull her out, collapsing the tower, before finally turning her attention back to the Pink Party Mare.

"Special Day? What are you talking about Pinkie Pie?" Celestia asked, beating Twilight to the question.

"Don't you remember Tia? It's the new year!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.

"The New Year?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, so to celebrate, I'm throwing a NOT Party!" Pinkie Pie announced. Both Twilight and Celestia stared at Pinkie.

"I'm NOT hosting it at Sugarcube Corner so make sure NOT to be there, or I'll have to tie you in a KNOT! You got that? Or do I NOT have to repeat it again?" Pinkie said, staring at her dumbfounded friends. "Okie Dokie, gotta go inform the others, Bye Bye Tia! See you tomorrow!" With that Pinkie Pie hopped out of the Library like a Rabbit on Highly sugared tea. That thought made Twilight giggle, remembering the time when Fluttershy decided to give Angel Bunny tea, and the rabbit snuck in a bunch of sugar cubes. The rabbit was jumping around for hours without end, before Twilight was finally called over to put Angel to sleep with a calming spell. The bunny slept for three days, and Fluttershy was so worried, but Twilight had assured her that Angel would be fine. After three days, Angel woke up with a headache and his old additude issues back. Eeyup, everything was back to normal after that. She chuckled to herself, then looked around. Celestia was nowhere to be found.

"Where in the world did my little Tia go?" Twilight asked, hearing a giggle from behind a bookshelf. Twilight searched around, slowly creeping towards Celestia's hiding spot, behind a bookshelf. As Twilight got closer, Celestia backed up to move to a new hiding spot, when she backed up into something. She looked up, and saw Twilight. She had snuck up on her! "Gotcha!" Twilight said, starting to tickle Celestia.

At that very same moment, a black cloaked figure stood outside the window of the Library, watching what was happening inside. He smiled, and chuckled to himself, before vanishing into thin air, leaving nothing but his mark of where he had been. A small black pegasi feather.

The pony appeared out of nowhere, into an abandoned house's living room, lighting the fire place as he materialized. he removed his cloak, laid it neatly on the couch, then relaxed. enjoying himself by the fire, in his magically cloaked house. He had been living in the house since his parents passed on, using magic to keep it cloaked, making it look abandoned, when in fact, it was quite habitable. His cute mark showed a quill and parchment, announcing his skill of writing to the world. It etched into his dark blue skin like a night light standing out in the middle of a forest. But even the color of his body seemed bright compared to the darkness of his mane and tail, for both were so pitch black, if somepony were to stare off into them, they could possibly go insane. It's one of the many reasons He liked to keep to himself. He pulled out his journal and his quill, using his magic to retrieve them from the fireplace mantle. If anyone did happen to stumble upon his house while he was away, they could have never found the journal, secretly disguised as a brick in the fireplace mantle. He opened it, and began to write.

Week 191, Day 1337:

There are reasons why I have not written in days. I have been visiting a very old friend of mine in Caterlot, also keeping a close eye on Fluttershy. ever since she found me in the Everfree forest, and helped heal me, I have made it my duty to protect her. It just so happened that at the same time I was visiting Canterlot, Vinyl Scratch, the local DJ, was having another one of her Raves. She is not bad at it, but the music is just not my style of music. But, the interesting part of it, other than learning more about my Great Grandmother, Princess Celestia turned into a mere filly by some unknown force. I couldn't take it upon myself to see so much sorrow, so at the same time as devoting my careful eye to watching over the lovely and kind Fluttershy, I will keep my eyes on Celestia, and attempt to help guide Twilight Sparkle and the rest of her friends to a cure, as much as I can, while keeping hidden. The world is just not ready for me, not yet.

~ Shadow Spark

Shadow closed the book, and replaced it in the mantlepiece. Smiling at the feats he had seen, and the information he had attained in the past three days, he was exausted, and happy to be in his own home again. He hadn't even realized how tired he had been before falling asleep to the slow pitter pattering of rain outside on his roof. The sweet melody of nature. Grandmother's Tears.
