Banish the rainbow

Chapter 23

A soft knock on my door.

I growl and hide my head under the pillow.

Another knock, louder this time.

I try to ignore it.

I hear a magical cracking and hooves on the floor.

Hoofsteps getting closer.

"Siren?" I hear Lunas soft voice.

I lift the pillow off of my head, looking at her.

"Are you not feeling well today?" I yawn and sit up, shaking my head.

"Just-" another yawn, "- tired" I look into her eyes, my eyelids droop, "I didn't get any chance to get some sleep last night."

Luna nods, "you won't have to do anything today. But I have to insist that you get up now and follow me into the throne room, your adjuration has to be official" I nod and slowly slip out of the sheets stiffling another yawn.

Luna nods again.

A flash of light blinds me.

We are in the throne room.

Luna before me on her throne, to her left Dream Dancer. To her right Shining Armor and a few other high ranked soldiers.

"Dark Siren Neylitha" Luna speaks softly, I look up to her and slowly bow.

"Yes, your highness."

The adjuration was pretty boring.

Just like the last.

She asks some question, you swear to protect or to kill. It was the same old horseshoe even after almost 2000 years.

Now I stand before Lunas throne, Shining Armor to my left guarding the other side of the stairs.

I'm also wearing a new armour, just like Shinings.

A golden "hey, here I am!" armour.

I mentaly facehoof, the armour was so easy to spot, every archer could take the captains down, blindfolded.

The bandages around my wing and my barrel made the new armour really uncomfortable.

It's kinda strange. Standing there, guarding a god-like creature.

I am used to guard ponies who doesn't really need my protection. First king Solaris, he was one of the strongest unicorns back in his time, Celestia being his daughter was the heir of the same powerful magic, I stiffle a yawn.

The giant stone door, which is already repaired, opens slowly.

Slowly walking in was Rainbow Dash, hobbling on three legs, her wounded leg bandaged.

Amortheyf still on her wings.

I don't know about the protocols but I know that ponies which aren't guards are not supposed to carry weapons when they meet a king, a queen or anything compared to that.

Rainbow hobbles closer and closer.

She stops around fifteen steps away from the throne and lowers her head.

"Rainbow Dash" Rainbow raises her head and looks up to Luna.

"Yes princess."

"You are here today because of your crimes against Equestria" Lunas voice was harsh and stern, "you are accused to have done the following things" she pulls out a list, "treachery against the crown, attempted murder, mayhem, robbery, insulting royalty, carrying weapons without permission..." Luna goes on pointing out some minor things like spitting in the castle and breaking the castles windows, Luna puts the scroll down, looking down at Rainbow, "you know the punishment for these crimes?"

Rainbow shakes her head.

"Death" Luna states coldly.

Rainbow gulps.

Luna sighs, "during the circumstances that you were piqued by wrong informations the punishment will be lowered" Luna rises from the throne and slowly walks down the stairs.

My eyes widen.

Every step echoes through the hall with a loud boom, stardust bursts away from her hooves every step she takes, a layer of shadows covers the floor.

Things start to whisper in my ears, I can't understand the whispers, but I know they are not telling bad things.

Atleast not me.

Rainbow recoils, falling on her haunches she covers her ears, fear reflecting in her eyes.

Luna stands right before her, her eyes radiate light, her horn sprays sparks as it also gets surrounded by white light, a heptagramm appears on the floor around Rainbow Dash.

"Rainbow Dash" Lunas voice booms through the hall, shaking the windows with the power of her voice.

"For your crimes against the crown you are banished from Equestria" Rainbows eyes widen even more as tears start to stream out of her eyes, "your banishment will last fivehundred years and you will be banished to the stars, living among them as one of them. Any last words before I execute the banishment?" the heptagramm grows brighter and brighter and starts to buzz loudly.

I see Rainbows lips move but I am not able to hear anything, she was still crying.

"Your wish is granted" Luna answers.

And with that the heptagramm starts to shrink, smaller and smaller.

Rainbow doesn't shrink.

I turn away as the walls of the inner heptagramm reaches Rainbows skin.

But even through the massive buzzing I can hear Rainbows screams as she get's crushed, comprimated into something fitting to a star.

I look back to where Rainbow was standing.

A bright opalescent orb, not bigger than a pinhead, was hovering in the air.

Amortheyf was lying on the floor.

Luna sighs as she walks closer to the orb, slowly raising a hoof the star lands in her hoof, the star changes it's colour, from blue to green.

I gulp.

It changes from green to red.

Lunas horn emitts more magic as she lowers the orb to the floor.

Red to yellow.

And crushes it under her hoof.

I gasp.

I open my mouth to say something, anything, but Shining steps in front of me, a sad but also stern expression on his face, he shakes his head.

"That's the price of treachery" he whispers, "don't worry, Luna didn't kill her. She only destroyed the corporeal form so the light can move out into the night."

"Captains" Shining turns around and looks at Luna, my eyes wander over to her, "follow me" she orders as she walks down the carpet, picking up Amortheyf on her way.

"Yes princess" Shining nods and follows her.

I just stand there looking at the point where Rainbow was once standing.

I furrow my brows.

Luna was carrying Amortheyf.

Carrying.

I follow Luna.

Walking behind her we follow Luna through the castles hallways, a staircase upwards, more stairs up, through a black, heavy door.

A spiral staircase up.

Another black door.

I look around, I don't know the room we are in right now. The room is dark, the furniture almost black, the curtains a dark purple, the ceiling a night blue with many white dots.

My eyes widen.

We are in Lunas private chambers.

Luna turns around to look at Shining and me.

She frowns.

"Do you think I overdid it?" her voice was sad.

I think about it for a second.

I shake my head, "No. You did what was necessary. And I think you did the right thing, not to execute, but to banish her. "

'Even though, crushing her was too harsh' I think.

Shining nods, "I think so too princess."

Her frown slowly disappears, her expression still anything else than happy but atleast she doesn't look heartbroken anymore.

"Siren" I nod, "I guess you want to have a look at this?" her magic envelopes Amortheyf and lowers it to the floor before me.

"Yes princess" I walk closer and look at the weapon, the strange sensation which appeared before was gone, the anger, the rage which was present when I took a look at the weapon before was missing.

"What happened to the weapon?" I pick the weapon up, it was as easy as wingblades should be.

"It's not Amortheyf" Luna speas quietly, I look up to her, "it's a copy made out of real dragotharium and-"

"Anvil made it" I finish her sentence, Luna nods.

"Apparently he found a mare during the years he was missing" Luna sits down on the fluffy purple carpet, "she gave birth to twins and he forged this weapon for her and her heirs. Rainbow explained that this weapon was only able to be used by the mares of the dark clan" my eyes widen.

Luna nods, sadness reappearing on her face.

"I'm sorry" she turns around and walks to the balcony door.

She opens it and walks out.

She pokes her head back in, "you want to see this?" I furrow my brows in confusion, "how I put Rainbow up into the night sky" she explains quickly.

I nod slowly and walk after Luna.

Luna looks at me as I walk out on the balcony, "stay quiet and don't move" she orders me, "it's not an easy task and every disruption of my concentration might banish me and you too" I gulp.

Luna turns around, her horn emitting a white light.

I start to hear whispers again as the floor get's covered in shadows again, a heptagramm appearing under our hooves.

Luna points her horn at the sky, the bright blue day sky, and shoots a ray of white light up.

The sky darkens as the sun turns from yellow to white and the sky itself to a dark blue.

The stars could be seen.

My eyes widen as Luna turns around, she was gasping and sweat was rolling down her forehead.

"It's" she gasps, "pretty hard.... to summon the nightsky over the day sky. We... are the only ponies who can... see it... right now" her breathing was pretty heavy, she turns back around and points at the nightsky.

"There" my ears perk as I hear the words, I follow Lunas hoof.

The opalescent star was brighter than any other star, glinting and dazzling.

"It's beautiful" I whisper.

Luna nods.
