“If I have to so I can defend what I stand for, I will make a country.” I said as the reporter looks shocked
“What your just gonna go off and make a country,” the reporter says while writing down everything, “even though you have no idea where to go?”
“Of course not, right now.” I laugh and head to the drink bar, “I can’t attract to much trouble.” I think to myself. As I take a drink I taste that it's slightly spicy and see some other pony drinking from fanning her tongue making me laugh a bit, and chug down the rest of my drink. I then turn around to see a white unicorn pony walk up to me and tap me on the shoulder, “Can I help you?”
“Yes you can my dear I need to see what this material is made of, it’s simply unique.” The unicorn says to me.
“Well it’s half nylon and half cotton, then it’s resistant to flames but mine is a specially made to regulate its temperature.” I say proud of my knowledge of my uniform, and slightly tipsy.
“How interesting do you have a spare I can use to study it?”
“Well sure but I’ll need it back” I then go towards the couch where my rucksack lay and pull out my spare uniform and hand it to her. As I do so I notice my computer and decide to pull it out.
Pulling out the computer and booting it up I’m shocked to find out that the computer still works and then I start to play Back in Black to see the room look at me in surprise, “What this is music.” I then start to feel the drink I had start affecting me. Though as alcohol normally does I start acting like a fool, doing the guitar solo. As I start to feel embarrassed I see Pinkie jump in doing the drums, and the crowd goes wild as I do the finally, which was me doing a electric slide across the floor towards the crowd only to be tripped and fall flat on my face causing laughter across the room before I black out.
“Umm… Ensis can you wake up, Ensis please wake up.” I hear Fluttershy say to me almost unable to be heard even with my hangover
As I start stirring from my drunken slumber, “where am I?”
“Well you’re in my bed”
“Oh I’m sorry what happened?”
“Well after you fell you started to have a drinking contest with Berry Punch and we counted it as a tie since you both ran out of drinks, then you ran around shouting things about how you think this all a dream and how you will find your old base, oh and then you and Lyra well…”
“Fluttershy what did I do, and who is Lyra?” I say grabbing her softly
“Well she is the unicorn who wanted to do research on the ruins with you, and when you were drunk you agreed on going to a trip to the arctic circle to look at a human ruin.”
“Fluttershy.”
“What Ensis?”
“Don’t ever scare me like that again.” I give her a stern look which almost brings her to tears, “Wait don’t cry no tears Ok no tears.”
“Ok then” she sniffles and wipes her tears, “Well Lyra said the trip will happen in five days so be ready.”
I sigh, “Fine but how far is the arctic circle from here?”
“About one month if you’re lucky”
“Great”
I decide to take a walk and I head over to Twilight's library. Walking toward the library I see Lyra, and she runs up to me with a face of utmost joy, "Oh my gosh thank you so much since you joined in I got some sponsors for the trip, but there is on problem." As she says this she looks to the ground slightly.
"This can't be good, what is it?" I say sighing.
"They want to have a press conference."
"That's not so bad."
"You would think that but there is gonna be diplomats from all around, also since you are a new species to them so they will want to know about you, and then they are gonna want a piece of the findings."
"How is that so bad, that just means I have to talk a bit, and if you are going to a human ruin I will know what's valuable and what's not."
"So you are fine with talking to the press for me then?" She says with sudden confidence.
"Sure I don't mind." As I finish saying this she levitates me with her magic and runs off with me behind me, "Where are we going" I say shocked by being levitated.
"To the conference silly filly" She laughs after saying this.
"Great I didn't think you meant now Lyra, but fine." I sigh as she takes me to a large building in the center of town and puts me down in front of a pedestal. Looking from the pedestal I see what looks like around 60 ponies all with microphones and cameras looking at me. "Hello my name is, Ensis, Do you have any questions?" Saying that I am bombarded by questions. I try my best to find one pony in the crowd and I see a small group in the back jumping up and down waving there hand, "You there in the back jumping around." as I say this the crowd lets the small group through and I see it's three young ponies
The group of ponies walks up to the front, "Mister I was wondering people said you were gonna make your own country, is that why you are going to the ruins?"
This idea makes me laugh slightly, since the reason is that I was drunk and joined it, "Well I'm going there to find out what happened to my people."
"Thanks mister," The group seems to nod there head and run off, "Maybe this is how we can get our cutie marks" they all cheer.
The rest of the conference I'm forced to talk about the culture of humans, and just as I was about to walk of stage, due to frustration of being asked the same thing over and over again, I see Lyra running at me. As she gets closer she lands on top of me saying that we are late and teleports us to the train. We appear before a small gryphon, with soft brown gold eyes, light gray feathers, and fur the color of the night sky, and a light brown unicorn with a golden mane, and a symbol of a old book on his flank.
"Hey this is Ms.Steel and Archive" Lyra says as she smiles sheepishly since they got on the train just in time so they won't be left behind. Though the two of the ignore her and focus on me as they stare at me intensely, and then Steel takes out a sketch book drawing me.
"Sorry about her she likes to draw things she finds interesting," Archive says this getting a short mad glance from Steel, "anyway do you mind teaching me some things about your kind?" Surprised by the fact he is so forward about this I agree and he pulls out three satellite phones, "Can we first start with these, I been wondering how they work since they are far beyond what we have created so far." As I talk about my kind, and point out the many things about how the phones work and how they just need to be charged light converter or a charger so they can work, I notice Steel looking back and forth at me every now and then avoiding eye contact.
"This is gonna be some trip, hey Lyra what are we calling this expedition anyway?"
She gives me a slight smile, "The Rediscovery, Ensis."
