Chapter 14: A Stroll In Canterlot [Part 2]

Morning came and every one was awake, over night we had reached Canterlot while me and Twilight were discussing our little experiment she wanted to try out on me and decided to hold off on it until we had the time.

I rose in my bed stretched and yawned a little. "Wow, that was a good night's sleep!," I said energized. I felt something fluffy when I stretched my arms out. "Huh...something soft is in my bed...," I said poking it again, but I was sure it wasn't a pillow.

I unraveled the sheets and found that it was poor Fluttershy, who had a rather flustered expression on her face. "...F-F-F-Fluttershy!?," I said, surprised.

"Oh...," Fluttershy couldn't say much with her embarrassed expression.

"I'm BEYOND SORRY, I didn't see you...I-I mean...I...," I kept panicking as Fluttershy settled down.

"I felt something touching my wing and I thought it was Angel, I'm so sorry for thinking you were him.," Fluttershy said fidgeting both of her front hooves together.

"Uh...," I replied with slightly less shuddering, then I smiled and patted Fluttershy on the head. "It's not like I was...that much of that...sweet...bunny of yours.," I said trying to force the words to come out as caring as I could to comfort her.

"I WILL NEVER EVER WANT TO BE THAT DEMONIC BRUTE OF A BUNNY..!"

Fluttershy gave a refreshing smile.

"BOO!," said a loud voice out of nowhere.

"Aaaaah!," Me and Fluttershy reacted as both of us fell off the top bed.

After pain was gone and Fluttershy got off of me, we encountered Mia laughing mischievously at what seemed to be her way of a good morning. "Haha, you should've seen the looks on your faces, you two are so cute being scared together!~," She said as she sat up in my bed still half asleep.

"Come on Mia, can't you give Fluttershy a break at least?," I pleaded.

Mia stopped her laughing then got out of her bed. The moment she got up, one of her arm strings of her sleeping gown was slightly slipping off.

"M-Mia!," I said aiming for the arm string.

"Uwah!?," She responded with a blushed face.

I pulled up her arm string and approached her face accidentally. "Um...awkward situation..." I said laughing

"Um...mhm...," Mia said trying to adjust to the situation we were in.

"Are you two okay?," said a voice from behind Fluttershy.

"What the...Spike!?," I said, turning to him and averting my situation with Mia.

Spike looked at me weird and shook his head. "Twilight told me to come and tell you that we're at Canterlot station!," He replied eagerly.

"Oh, sweet! Let's go check this place out!," I said.

Mia looked at me with a pouting expression.

"Wonder what's gotten into her?"

Pinkie Pie and Applejack both zoomed off the train in excitement. "Ah'd better get to sellin' these apples while ah still can!," Applejack said heading off into town.

"And there's soooooo many royal ponies to have fun parties with, it's gonna be so...," Pinkie let in a huge gasp. "AMAZIIIIIIIIING!," She shouted zooming off.

"Wow those two seem in a rush, how about you three Twilight, Spike, and Fluttershy?," I asked looking at them.

"Well I'm heading over to the library, I have much to look over that I don't know yet...just hope I have access to the royal archives still.," Twilight said.

"And I'll be accompanying her!," Spike said with glee.

"I'll be playing with all the critters in the Canterlot gardens of Princess Celestia's castle...I mean... with her permission of course...," Fluttershy said while flying.

"Care to join!?," All of them asked.

"Haha...sorry, I'm kinda here to meet Rarity's friend first so... I'll think about it.," I said shifting my eyes the other way.

They all seemed a bit down to hear that, but continued on to their destinations and I was left with a sleepy Mia and "getting dolled-up" Rarity. After a while, Rarity came out of her cart carrying a little luggage.

"Wait a second...where's the rest of it?," I asked, confused.

"Pardon?Oh, why the carrier's handling it for me.~," Rarity replied walking off the train.

"The carrier...?," I said once I spotted an orange stallion trying hard to get Rarity's belongings out of the train. "Oh geez...," I said face-palming.

I spotted Mia heading out of the train as I followed behind. "So this is Canterlot, what a great place!,"She said admiring the shining city.

"Wow...you're right, I think this is like the Beverly Hills of Equestria, don't ya think!," I said laughing along with Mia.

"What's a Beverly Hills?," Rarity asked with a puzzled look on her face

Mia and I explained to Rarity about a place called Beverly Hills and she started to laugh a little. "Well that place does sound awfully fancy and exquisite as Canterlot, though this IS the region where most of our royals live.," She said with glitter in her eyes.

I looked around the Canterlot scenery with Rarity, hauling a few designs in a small carrier bag, and Mia who was clinging to my arm because of her sleepy disposition. Every pony looked at us as if we were a bunch of odd balls.

"Wow, feels like that stare I got from Nichole on her first day she met me...," I said while supporting Mia.

"Pardon me, Alex, but who's this Nichole you speak of?," Rarity asked.

"Oh, she's another girls I know who is usually compassionate and above all...wealthy, but she's doesn't brag about it! She's pretty wonderful if you get to know her better!," I replied with a smile.

"My, you have some interesting friends from your world.," Rarity said, stopping and putting her hoof to her mouth. "Aha, this is the place!," She said pointing her left hoof to a building that seemed to be made out of marble and other rare gemstones.

"holy shimmering goodness...!," I said in awe.

Mia had wiped her eyes and mumbled about something shining in her eyes, then she woke up. "The sun's extra shiny today...w-w-whoa!?," Mia said as she let go of my arm and clasped her hands together and stared in sight of the magnificent structure.

I laughed at her then I saw Rarity heading up to the entrance to the glowing place. "Ah, Marble's Boutique does look absolutely fabulous, if I do say so myself.," She said, knocking on the door.

"Fabulous...fabulous...fabulous? IT'S TOTALLY AMAZING!"

The door opened and saw a joyful pony bouncing up and down. She was a brown coated mare with brown and light brown highlights in her name and tail, and had a cinnamon bun as her cutie mark.

"Huh...I can't believe it...c-could she be an edible pony..?," I said under my breath.

"Oh, you must be Rarity!," said the hyperactive pony.

"Yup, that's me, I'm here to see miss Marble if she's in.," Rarity said with a very content look.

"Aw...sorry Rarity, but you juuuuuuust missed her, she headed towards Celestia's castle a while ago!," She stated with a smile.

" I see, well I guess I'll...wait...Princess Celestia wanted her!?," Rarity replied with a piercing stare to the frightened mare.

"U-Uhuh...," replied the pony.

"I see...alrighty then, to the castle we go!," Rarity said trotting off to the direction of the castle.

"Hmm, wonder what's gotten stuck into Rarity's hoof.," I said snickering.

*****

Mai and I headed in the direction Rarity went in, then something caught Mia's interest. I stared at her walking into a crowd of ponies where there was lights coming from something in front of them.

"Huh, what's going on over there, Mia!?," I yelled.

Most of the other ponies and unicorns glared at me and said "Sssssshhhuuush!,"

I had been silenced by every pony, including Mia, then they returned their attention forward. I walked over to a clear opening in the crowd where Mia was, and she stood there in awe looking at flashing lights.

"Mia...what's got you so...," I stopped whispering for the moment and stared at a stagecoach that looked to be morphed into a stage that had lots of exploding fireworks and sound effects that you could compare to a movie theater. "Whoa, what is this?," I asked in awe.

Just in a moment's notice, a huge cloud of purple explosion popped up on stage, as the smoke started to settle, I saw a shadow castes within it's mist. The entire crowd of ponies were dazzled and silent, me and Mia were also taken in by this phenomenon. After the smoke was completely gone, there stood a pony I thought I'd never see, she looked clothed in a cape with stars on it, had a blue covered mane and coat, and sported a very benevolent look onto the audience. The blue unicorn opened up her cape and swished it to make room for her hind legs to show, giving a sparkling glow afterwards.

"Wow, that's one unlikely unicorn I've seen ever since I've came to Equestria...," I said staring at the stunning mare.

"It is I, the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie who has appeared before you!," said the blue unicorn as fireworks went off from behind her. "Witness my spectacular magic that has been performed throughout all of Equestria, magic that you've never seen!," said the showboating unicorn, releasing more flashes of fireworks for the crowd.

"Wow, she's pretty amazing!," Mia said as she was pulled into Trixie's entertaining grasp.

"Haha, yea she is!," I agreed.

Trixie started out an act where she used her horn to create sparkling figures resembling somewhat animal-like figures with their natural actions, the crowd was turning from "oohs" to "aahs". She ended with some giant figure of what looked like a blue bears.

"She's so talented!," Mia eagerly said.

I nodded in agreements as I watched Trixie's performance, but then I noticed something was wrong with her after the figure she cast started to attack her out of will.

"Waaaah!," Trixie reacted as she slipped and fell off her cape and landed so heavily on her face.

"I'd imagine an Ursa Minor would make anyone react like that...," said one of the royal ponies.

"Indeed, but to be afraid of your own act, it's not what some pony "great and powerful" would do...is it not?," asked another one of the royal ponies.

The audience of royals all left with a few sporting disappointed faces, with Mia looking every way at them walking from the scene. Trixie had poofed out of her sorrowful disposition back onto the center of the stage, the moment she got her act together, she noticed that the entire audience had left.

"Ah, how dare you leave the GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE, I PROMISE YOU I'll ," Trixie stopped her angry speech once she caught presence of Mia and me.

"Those were some fantastic magic tricks, Trixie!," Mia said clapping and putting up her hands in excitement.

Trixie gave a small grin then gave a startling look. "Trixie doesn't believe she's seen such creatures such as yourselves in this world of Equestria.," She said as she bowed her head from Mia's love of her performance.

"Oh...well that's because we're humans, I guess Princess Celestia never told every pony, huh?," I said laughing.

"Are you saying Trixie is too stupid to not know what you are...?," Trixie said with an attitude.

"W-What, no way...I was just saying.," I replied whistling.

Trixie glared at me with some insightful hate in her eyes. "ANYWAYS, Trixie hopes you were dazzled by her performance!," She said spreading her cape with sparkles flying out.

"I did like it! Especially the part where you fell down, it was funny!," I replied laughing.

Trixie poofed from off the stage and right in front of me. "That...WASN'T...PART...OF...TRIXIE'S PERFORMANCE!," She said, staring me dead in the face.

"Uh..." I responded uncomfortably.

"Man, I shouldn't get on this mare's bad side....better come up with something to break the ice!"

I scratched the back of my head. "Hahaha... it wasn't... part of ,"

"NO, IT WASN'T!," Trixie shouted.

"Geez...um...sorry...," I said as I tilted my head down.

"Well it matters not, if you'll excuse me, Trixie will be moving on to her next town!," Trixie said as she started for her stagecoach.

Once she was almost about to put the stage away, something hit the top and the entire set started to collapse on Trixie.

"Oh my goodness, Trixie!," Mia cried out.

The moment I heard creaking, I lifted my head out of disappointment and saw defenseless Trixie about to be flattened. "Trixie!," I screamed as I ran for her.

Trixie remained still in fears until I picked her up and ran out of the stage's dropping distance...barely. The stage collapsed with lots of dust coming from the ground impact, then Mia saw me carrying Trixie in my arms. Trixie's traumatized self fadded and she realized I was carrying her, she looked at me with somewhat adoring eyes.

"I wouldn't expect this kind of look from her..."

"You...saved Trixie's...I mean...my life...," Trixie said looking at me a little more.

"Hey, you can hate me all you want, but I can't just let any pony get injured now can I?," I said smiling at Trixie.

Trixie blushed a bit, then her horn began to glow and poofed out of my hands and ported close to Mia. "Please DON'T touch Trixie!," She said, dusting herself off.

I looked at Trixie and apologized, then she turned her head the other way. "T-Trixie is grateful for what you've done, but never again will Trixie be in a state of endangerment anymore!," She said levitating the tilted stage of hers and packing it away magically.

"Some unicorns are pretty powerful with their magic...," I said looking at the potential unicorn.

"What even made the stage fall over in the first place?," Mia asked without a thought of what it could it have been.

We all looked up and spotted a pegasus that was flying and removing what appeared to be a bag of some sort.

"Is that...Derpy Hooves?," I asked confused.

"D-Derpy Hooves?," Mia said, looking at me with an angered face.

"Hey, hey, it's her name!," I said trying to redirect Mia's attention to Derpy.

"Oh...hehe, MY BAD!," Derpy shouted aloud and left in a haste with her mail carrier bag.

"That pegasus is gonna hurt someone with that bag of hers beside me...I can tell!"

"The GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie shall bid you farewell!," Trixie had said giving her final bow for me and Mia.

"Take cares GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie!," Mia said with excitement.

The beloved pony gave a benevolent smile once again, then she looked at me. "Trixie will then be seeing you...," Trixie said walking inside her stagecoach with a yet content facial expression. Her stagecoach then started moving on it's on and wheeled off the scene.

"I...think she still hates me.," I said with a blunt expression.

"Aw, don't think like that Alex, she loved you!," Mia said with a smile.

"Who wouldn't love their savior from certain doom, huh, huh?," Mia said nudging me with her arm.

"Well...I don't know...," I said looking off to the distance that Trixie trailed off to.

Mia clung to my arm and I flinched a little. "This is such a beautiful place...I still wonder how we got stuck in a world such as Equestria, Alex...," Mia said as she was hugging up to me.

"Yea, I wonder about that too... w-wait, we'd better go find Rarity!," I said trying to get some distance from Mia.

*****

We rushed towards the same direction Rarity was headed in and came across a huge palace.

"*pant* I think that's the...*pant*...castle that Rarity went to!," I said pacing ahead of Mia.

"How can you tell?," She asked as she kept up with me.

I turned my head a little backwards to give Mia a "oh come on" look.

"What?," She reacted hastily.

"A giant castle...bigger than all the rest...has guards...yea, it's like MANY other structures for princesses to live in...," I replied as I turned back to the castle me and Mia were approaching ahead.

"I was just wondering...," Mia said pouting.

"We made it to the castle entrance, and yes, we were tired the moment we got there. The guards who were at the entrance looked at us with slight suspicion and curiosity.

"Just *pant* let *pant* me *pant* catch my *pant* breathe! *pant*," I said, panting constantly.

"You really need to work out more, Alex!~," Mia said giggling.

The guards starting putting their hooves up to their mouths and started grinning as well.

I caught sight of their selfish snickering. " Hey, if you had the legs like mine you'd be worn out too!," I said regaining my stamina.

The guards had stopped their laughing and commenced to their regal, protective state. "No authorized species is allowed to pass without Princess Celestia's orders!," said one of the guards.

"Oh boy, these ponies are serious, Alex.," Mia said hiding behind me.

"Don't worry, Mia, I've got a plan...," I said as I approached one of the guards.

"Say...could we um...you know get it to see the princess...," I said secretly passing an item to the guard.

The guard just stared at the item then back at me, then gave a deadpanned look.

"So, what do ya say, huh, huh?," I said shrugging my shoulders with a slight show of arrogance.

The guard threw the item on the ground then Mia looked at it. "You...tried to bribe the guard...with a cookie...," Mia said with a humored and troublesome look.

The other guards facehooved themselves at my fail.

"Aw come on! Pinkie Pie can do it and get away with it, but I CAN'T!?," I stated.

The guards looked at us more feisty than before.

"Oooh...please, please, pleeeeease let us in!?," Mia and I asked in unison.

The guards stepped forwards, looking as if they'd retaliate against us soon. Suddenly a voice came from behind me and Mia.

"Can't you guards tell that all they want to do is go inside and see the princess!?," said the voice.

"Ah...why should we allow them too miss Marble?," asked one of the guards.

"Because they're with me!," said the voice with much willingness.

"Wait a minute...Marble, didn't I hear that name before?"

I looked around and spotted a pony that had Rarity's marshmallow-like coat, but instead it was a little light blue and had a very well tied bow in her mane.

"M-M-M...," I kept repeating.

Mia finished for me. "Marble?," She said.

"Marshmallow number two!," I said, pointing at Marble.

Marble looked at me odd in the face and lightly trotted towards the entrance.

Once the guards had let us through the gate and we reached inside the castle, Mia, Marble, and I were recovering from our almost violent incident.

"Phew...was THAT close!," I said rustling my fair wildly.

"Mhm, if it wasn't for Marble...we would've seen how violent some ponies could get...," Mia said clinging to me once again.

"Trust me, I've seen just half of how vicious some ponies could be...just ask Pinkie Pie!"

I tried to escape Mia's grasp until suddenly I was pounced on. "W-Whoa!," I said as I was slammed down to the ground with a slight head injury. "Who in the ...,"

Soon I saw Marble upon me with a huge smile. "Oh my world of Equestria, you're...you're..." Marble kept giving me eyes of adornment. "A HUMAN!," She screamed, clinging to my other arm.

"Uh...," I said, traumitized from the position I was in. Mia and Marble were too forceful to let me go and then I had gone silent.

"Mmm..Alex?," Mia asked.

"Human...are you okay?," Marble asked leaning over to see my face.

Mia and Marble noticed I was passed out and started to panic. "I...I think we overdid it...," Marble said.

Mia shook her head.

It was clear that I had passed out because of exhaustion and started to sleep.
