A Hospital Visit

Breaking Rules

Laying down the Daring Do book for a few moments, Rainbow Blitz let out a content sigh. At least now, he wasn’t bored and had something interesting to keep him occupied. An awesome book with an awesome character. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the fact that he knew his friends and the weather team would make playful jabs about how Daring Do was the ideal girl for him. As much as he was repulsed at even telling them he was reading, he knew full well that their claims would be silly. He already had the perfect mare.

Daring Do, awesome as she was, from what he was reading, could not hold a candle to his special pony.

Earlier on, he'd objected to reading, knowing it would make him an egghead. And just about ruining his reputation as a whole. But now, at least with nopony around, he could do so freely.

He chuckled again, taking a look around the dark hospital room. Only the lamp on his bedside table was lit, while the rest of the room and window to the outside and beyond were cast in darkness and shadows. It was quiet, so quiet.

Taking a breather from doing something as fun as reading felt quite odd. Yet, all his life, he was used to quiet moments. Even if he tried to protest against them. He glanced around again, looked down at his book, and then looked up at the ceiling. Maybe it was time to get some shut-eye, even if he didn’t feel tired right then.

A small sound was heard, his ears perked, ready incase the sound appeared again. Silence followed.

“Must’ve been hearing things,” he muttered dryly to himself.

The sound came again, this time coming from the window. Turning, Blitz could see a flying form of a pony, draped in shadows, attempting to lift up the window frame. The form slowly opened the window and coming in, quiet as a mouse. It was still a bit too dark to make out the pony properly, but it was obviously a pegasus...with a lot of hair. The perpetrator sneezed gently, like a kitten, and then came into the light.

“Hello, Rainbow...” Came a soft, sweet voice.

The wounded athlete grinned like a silly young colt. “Hello Fluttershy. Never thought I’d catch you sneaking into places.”

Giggling, Fluttershy stepped into the light a bit more to reveal her face. “Well...I never thought I would have to see you in hospital. I thought my mighty Rainbow told me he was invincible.” Her happiness faded as she continued her approach.
“Today was so tense when we were here, I didn’t even get to really see you. I’m sorry... And I’m so sorry I couldn’t even be there to see your tricks...” Her cute face took on a look of apologetic shame.

“Don’t apologize to me about that, Flutters. You did what you had to do. You’re still the coolest mare I could ever dream about. Now come here before anypony catches you.” He shifted across, hiding his reading material under the covers as he moved.

Beaming at his words, as well as the invitation, Fluttershy quietly trotted over and climbed into bed with him. On his good side, so she would avoid jostling his injured wing. “How is your wing doing?”

“Okay, nurse Fluttershy!” He grinned back happily. “But is there anything you can do to make it better.” His cheeky smile grew as he wrapped a foreleg around his mare.

“Ooh, of course...” Fluttershy cooed, snuggling close and kissing his cheek. “I’ll do what I can to make you and your wing feel better, my love.” She nuzzled him sweetly.

“Awesome...” The one, unwounded wing wrapped around the cuddling pegasus, holding her tight. He let a few moments of snuggling pass before he planted a kiss on her muzzle, breathing in the sweet scent of the pony he loved. “You just made my day cooler. Keep it up...” A contented sigh escaped the multi-coloured stallion and he sunk deeper into the loving embrace of his caretaker.

“Yay!” Fluttershy giggled in a squee, melting into the embrace with a beaming, blushy smile. “I was beginning to think you didn’t want us around...or me around...especially after what happened with Battle Clouds...”

“No way... Well... maybe sometimes not the others sometimes... but I can always allow my special somepony... I need my cheerer.” He giggled cheekily. “Helps make me show everypony who’s the best!”

Looking to her beloved, the creamy yellow pegasus giggled and nuzzled their noses. “Awww...and I’m always glad to be your cheerleader, my handsome rainbow...” She planted butterfly kisses along his muzzle and cheeks, very much in tune to when she’d do so as children.

Slowly shifting around, he did his best to push the now unwanted book away without attracting attention while continuing the snuggle. “You’re the one with the good looks here Fluttershy. I’m just awesome and cool!”

Fluttershy nodded in agreement, kissing his temple. “Yes, you are awesome and cool. Always have been. Not to mention your good looks.”

“That’s because you’ve never looked at another stallion... Because... you already had me.” You could almost see his head expanding with his ego as he caressed her back, tickling her sides.

“True,” she conceded, smiling. “But you’re still handsome to me. And your wonderful rainbow mane goes beautifully with your cyan coat... But I digress.” She giggled, and then felt something hard on his side. “Rainbow, what’s that under the sheets?”

“Nothing!...” He briskly shoved the object away, causing it to fall off the bed, hitting the floor with a soft thud. At the sound, his heart rate picked it up a few notches, he felt paralyzed, unable to retrieve the fallen item but also unwilling to let his mare see he had been reading.

Curious, Fluttershy managed to peer over the bed and onto the floor to see what had fallen there. Much to her surprise, it was a book. The same Daring Do book that Twilight had given him earlier on. Why was he hiding it, and why was it still here? If he really didn’t want to read it, why had he been so freaked out about her finding it?

It dawned on her then. She looked at him curiously, wide-eyed.

“Rainbow...you’ve been reading the book?”

“N-no...” The blushing stallion managed. “Of course I haven’t... that would be totally uncool.”

Hurt, for more reasons than one, Fluttershy sat up a bit. “Yes you have. If it were just sitting there, you wouldn’t have cared. You would have no reason to hide it. But because you think reading is uncool, you’re embarrassed that I caught you. Rainbow...what makes you think I would ever laugh at you or make you feel stupid? I’ve been coaxing you to read for years. You never did. And now that you have, don’t you think I would be thrilled? ….I can’t believe you would think that.”

“Allright... Fine... You caught me reading... I’m an egghead now... Just don’t tell the other’s, I don’t want any jokes about how Daring Do would be perfect for me...” He pulled the dejected mare into his forehooves, lying her on his tummy. “There... now you have a Rainbow Blitz to sleep on... please calm down. I promise I won’t hide stuff from you again...” His normally brash and daring persona was gone now, replaced by a pleading look. Now was one of the rare times he felt he had to ask forgiveness and as hard as it was to do, he knew he had to.

Sniffling a bit, Fluttershy melted as her heart soared, her worries and hurt washing away. She snuggled against him, reassured about the situation. Especially in how she had not thought of it that way, either. She felt her breathing settle, her heart pound gently, and her smile grow.

“Because... you're a great gal for me,” he cooed softly, stroking her mane, enjoying the feel of her warm coat against his belly.

“Oh, Rainbow...” Fluttershy whispered softly, feeling relieved and flattered all at once. Her cheeks flushed with an adorable pink tint, her eyes glistened with adoration, and she smiled lovingly.

“So it’s a deal then...? You don’t tell the others and we get more snuggle time?” He grinned hopefully up at the lovable ball of pink and yellow plush on his tummy.

Giggling a bit, the creamy yellow mare nodded. “It’s a deal, Rainbow. I won’t tell anypony about it, I promise.”

“Good.” He slowly lent up, grinning all the way before touching her cheek with a thankful kiss. “I knew all along I could count on you.”

“Hee...” Fluttershy giggled, and then kissed his cheek as well. “Well, it also isn’t my place to tell, either. That would be up to you. While I know it’s no big deal if you enjoy reading, it would still be better if you went about this on your own terms. And...” She smiled cheekily, leaning in closer. “You know I would never pass up any chance to snuggle."

“Then maybe I might have to get my pretty pony to read to me one day. Then... I get the best of both worlds... snuggle time... and reading time.” Blitz continued to grin up at her as he stroked her mane, slowly, gently, before making his way down to her delicate wings.

A trembled gasp escaped the timid pony, to which she giggled and melted into the contact. “You always did like it when I read to you, Rainbow... Back when we were young... I’d be happy to do that again.”

“Well... how about now?” Blitz asked, “ever read a Daring Doo book before?”

Fluttershy’s brow knitted in contemplation. She thought for a few moments before shaking her head. “Not that I can recall, actually.”

“It’s a really cool book...surprisingly. Can my dear Flutters read it to me?” He did his best to look appealingly up at her, petting her softly, encouragingly, hoping for a good response.

Smiling brightly, Fluttershy nodded. She leaned over his body and reached down to the floor, picking up the book. Returning to her spot on the bed against him, she held the book open in order to see it at the particular angle, all while snuggling into her coltfriend. The blankets were pulled over them a bit, the book situated where she could see the words clearly, both of them snuggled up... It was perfect.

“I’d be happy to, sweetheart,” Fluttershy beamed, turning to the page that was marked.

Rainbow Blitz grinned up at her, gently stroking her mane, gazing at her face as she concentrated on the reading material. “I was somewhere near the top of the page. But you can start from the beginning of the chapter if you like.” Not that it mattered where she started from, the sound of her voice was so soothing, it made him forget all his troubles, including his broken wing.

“Sure!” Fluttershy said agreeably, turning to the first page. “All right, so...Daring Do and the Sapphire Stone. Here we go!” She cleared her throat, then began to read out loud.

As Daring Do trekked through the tropical jungle, the wet heat sapped her energy and slowed her every step. If only she could escape this oppressive atmosphere and fly up into the cool blue sky. But her crash landing in the jungle had injured her wing and she was grounded for a few days. Few days... it might as well be a few months, or a few years! The mosquitoes buzzed loudly. The macaws cried from the high trees. Yet all of these distracting noises were not enough to cover the sound of the predators following her every step...

Rainbow Blitz did his best to suppress a sigh of contentment. Here he was, with the best partner he could imagine, cuddled up in bed reading a book. One of the best parts was that he didn’t even need to read! He snuggled closer, closing his eyes, happy to remain this way forever.

For a while, Fluttershy kept on reading aloud, actually finding herself interested in the story. Scary as it might have been, she had to appreciate that it also took the time to showcase that Daring Do had to use her ingenuity and wits to get over the obstacles, despite having a broken wing. Already there was some relatable instances, it was no wonder he seemed to like it now. And she understood why their friends or anypony else would crack jokes about how Daring Do seemed like his perfect kind of girl. But it made her heart flutter with joy at how he assured her she had nothing to worry about in that sense.

After having read a bit, Fluttershy could see that her beloved was laying against her with his eyes closed. Was he sleeping? She couldn’t tell, but it was getting late. She closed the book after marking it, and placed it aside. With a smile, she kissed his forehead and snuggled against him more.

“Goodnight, my handsome Rainbow Blitz. I love you,” she whispered into his ear. “And I’m happy you got into reading.”

“After that, I’m happy I got into reading! Love you too, Flutters,” Although his eyes remained shut, a satisfied smile played across the proud stallion’s face. He wrapped a wing around his mare, careful to stay off his wounded one and allowed himself to slowly pass from the realm of the day. All the sleepy pegasus could feel was the touch of the warm pony on top as she cuddled him.

“Mmm...” Fluttershy murmured, closing her eyes and resting against him. She barely even realized that she should get out of there before the doctors would come in, but by then, she was too tired to care. Not to mention way too comfortable in Blitz’s embrace. Her favourite place in the world, it was even better than being surrounded by nature with her animal friends. “Yay...”

The two pegasi fell asleep in each other’s warmth and embrace, happily allowing the realm of dreams to cocoon them.

Warmth.

Loving warmth.

It was the greatest feeling Rainbow Blitz could ever hope to feel, waking up, refreshed after a perfect nights rest. As he slowly came to, he realised that the usual event had occurred during the night, he was now part of his mare’s bed. This caused him to grin, completely lovestruck as an eye cracked open to reveal the sight he loved to see. It didn’t matter that his fillyfriend had been using him as a pillow, her warm steady breath causing life to flood through his system. Blinking rapidly to erase the sense of sleep still gripping him, he blew softly back. His heart skipped a beat as the yellow nose twitched in a totally adorable way.

“Hey Fluttershy... Wake up... Snuggly...?” He giggled softly, not that he would ever be caught dead calling her pet names in public, but in the cocoon of love on this wonderful morning, he saw no harm in having some fun.

Fluttershy stirred slightly, but didn’t wake. Instead, she snuggled more against him as her sweet smile grew.

With the pretty creamy muzzle pressed up against his own, the bold stallion couldn’t resist licking the soft fur, hoping for a further response from her.

This made her brows furrow slightly, but she giggled. Yawning, Fluttershy stretched lightly as she opened her eyes and blinked the sleep away. When her eyes set upon the gleaming cerise eyes of her coltfriend, it made her smile even more. “Oh...good morning, Rainbow,” She cooed sweetly, nuzzling their noses. “Did you sleep well?”

“Yes. I hope you did too, getting to use the coolest colt in Equestria as your bed,” he giggled shamelessly, stretching a little to sort out the morning kinks.

Sudden pain racked his left wing reminding him of his crash. A pained cry escaped him before he had time to shut it off.

Almost immediately, Fluttershy rose up a bit to comfort him, concerned. “Rainbow, are you okay? Oh...it was your wing, wasn’t it?” She gently stroked his side to comfort his pain, whispering soothingly into his ear.

“Stupid wing... I guess I forgot about it,” A blush spread across his face as he realised he was not in his fillyfriend’s cottage. He quickly glanced about, desperate to check that nopony else had heard what he had uttered to his lover. Seeing nopony else around, he relaxed, pulling his mare into a hug, reseating her on his strong chest.

All too happily, Fluttershy nestled against him, her mane tickling his chin a bit. “I’m sorry...but don’t you worry, you’re going to be just fine, Rainbow... And I’ll be right here, still.” She promised, kissing his coat lightly.

“Good. Don’t move, I like my cuddly pony right where she is. And if anypony tells you to get out then they can just get lost. You’re staying with me. I need somepony who can help this wing get better.”

“Hee....well, you will need the help of doctors, bandages and medicine for your wing...but I’d be happy to stay with you!” Fluttershy giggled, happily snuggling into his strong, well-defined chest.

It occurred to her then that it probably wouldn’t help much, would it? The benefits of being married, or at least common law married, included hospital visits. But because she wasn’t family nor married to him, it was likely she was going to be told to leave. And probably wouldn’t let her back in after she had broken the rules. Fluttershy clung to her stallion tightly, unwilling to let go. She knew this was wrong, and inwardly berated herself for it. But turning her back on her beloved when he needed her; when she wanted to care for him in his plight, and then being forced to remain away from him if caught. She didn’t look forward to that.

Unwittingly, a little sniffle escaped her as she closed her eyes, trying not to think about it.

A warm wet tongue whipped out, wiping the shy pegasus’s face as if to cleanse her fears. “What’s up? You don’t want to say here with me?” Although he could feel her clinging on for dear life, he was at a loss as to why she was doing so.

Realizing he’d seen her fear, Fluttershy felt a stab of guilt and shook her head. “No, not at all, Rainbow. I want nothing more than to be here with you. I just... Wish that I could be... Even though we’re not family or married... And now if I’m caught... I probably won’t even be able to come see you. But I don’t want to leave you.”

“Well then don’t leave. You might as well be married to me Flutters. I’m sure they can’t say no to my awesomeness.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want you to get into trouble....”

With a small laugh, and a tightening of his own hold he nuzzled noses with her. “As long as we don’t get carried away in here... I’m sure it will be okay.”

A little smile overcame Fluttershy’s face, alongside a blush. “Well, that much is easier said than done....” Her voice was a bit of a suggestive purr. But she managed to try to hold it back as best as she could. She kissed his neck, gently, while her hoof gently stroked his mane.

“True... How about... you help me get this wing back... then I’ll take you sightseeing, we'll do all kinds of fun things together."

“Oooh...okay...” Fluttershy brightened at the prospect of that. “I’ll do everything in my power to help you feel better, Rainbow.”

“That’s my mare...” He whispered back, kissing her nose.

Giggling, she kissed his nose back. “Do you need something, my handsome rainbow?” She cooed, batting her eyelashes.

“Well... what does doctor ‘Shy recommend?” The cheeky weather pony asked, caressing a delicate yellow wing while wearing a grin upon his face.

The creamy yellow pegasus giggled in pleasure, a shiver coursing up her spine. “Well, I recommend you get plenty of rest...and a lot of snuggles. Mmm...and kisses...” She winked.

“Oh, really?" Feeling butterflies invade his tummy, he giggled, kissing her sweetly on her lips. “How about that one for starters?”

Letting out a happy squee, Fluttershy responded by giving him a kiss of her own. She nestled along his body a bit more, bringing her forehooves to his mane and neck, applying gentle caresses and strokes. Pulling away, the two snickered at each other.

The bold speedster brought his mare’s head in range once more, nosing his way through her soft mane and gently nibbled a protruding ear.

“Oh, nibbly..” Fluttershy cooed in affectionate appreciation, giggling.

“You want to start that again do you, snuggly?” He grinned, laying kisses and nibble along her soft muzzle, eliciting soft giggles all the way.

“You know me too well, Rainbow...” She giggled, blushing more.

“Okay then. Continue," He giggled before laying into her once more, relishing the soft touch of the equally lovestruck pegasus.

Nodding, Fluttershy snuggled into her coltfriend more and then applied sweet butterfly kisses along his muzzle and neck. Her hooves ran along his sides, gently, before going back up to his shoulders, while her lips worked their sweet magic along his coat.

He stretched out under her touch, euphoria washing over him as his mare continued her work. If kisses could heal his broken wing, then he would be flying out the door, mare in his forehooves by now. Deciding to repay his mare, he quickly shifted, bringing his muzzle into the path of her own. He quickly lost himself in the kiss, once more forgetting his pains as all his senses became alive with the touch and scent of his mare.

Giggling between kisses, Fluttershy returned them with fervency, her hooves entrapped within his luscious rainbow mane. Little moans came from the back of her throat, their bodies entwining as she shifted slightly, adding to the heavenly feel.

He rolled onto his good side, taking Fluttershy with him, locking her in a kiss the whole time. This made his lover gasp lightly, but soon she relaxed into it.

Gently hiking her hind leg along his flank, Fluttershy deepened the kiss and brought herself closer.

Wrapping all hooves around his mare, Blitz welcomed her advances, continuing to kiss her back the whole time before darting his tongue out to request entrance into familiar territory.

Moaning in pleasure between their mouths, the pink-maned pony’s tongue responded in kind. Gently darting around, exploring the familiar territory, and overall enjoying his unique flavour. Her hind leg continued its own ministrations along his hip and flank, enticingly.

Unleashing a sensual moan, delighted by the intoxicating tastes he was rediscovering he continued to trace the inner walls of Fluttershy’s mouth, relishing every passing moment. His hooves moved down to tease yellow wings, pushing aside the blankets to allow for expansion.

Sure enough, Fluttershy’s left wing rose up. Her right was trying to, but was smooshed against her weight on the mattress until a strong cyan hoof lifted it out, allowing it to flutter free.

Feeling excitement arise inside him, the strong stallion fought to keep himself in check as he was still pressed right up to his mare, tummy to tummy. All the while he continued his gentle sweeps through his mare’s wings, enjoying the soft play against his hooves.

Realizing how close they were, how easy it would have been... Fluttershy tried to hold herself back. Despite just how tempting it was, how tempting it would be to just apply the right pressure in a certain area. But she had to resist, now was not the time or the place. No matter how much she desired him... She slowed the kiss, with the passion remaining a few moments longer.

Pulling out of the wonderful kiss, Blitz licked the quickly disappearing mare’s muzzle. “Getting rather close there, Flutters... enjoying it?” By the tone in his voice, he made it clear he was enjoying the slight bend in boundaries.

Eyes wide, cheeks flushed, Fluttershy buried her face in his neck. “Sorry...”

“Don’t be... I’m just having fun pushing some boundaries. I said we can go there when I’m all better... but till then, I don’t mind getting close.” His suggestive grin lingered, as did his position against her. He leaned in slowly, nuzzling her reassuringly the whole time. “Don’t worry Flutters... I would never do anything to you without your permission first... even if you can feel how close we are...”

Raising her head a bit, Fluttershy couldn’t help but smile at his sweet thoughtfulness. Her heart warmed over and her body trembled with delight, especially with her wings gently fluttering. “Oh, Rainbow... I know you wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. I just don't want to pressure you, no matter how much I may want to when we're so close.” She snuggled her head under his chin.

“You... pressure me...?” He giggled softly, nuzzling her more and laying a string of kisses along her cheek, pulling her out from under her cover. “You have no idea...” He grinned mischievously at her, stroking her mane once more with a hoof in an attempt to calm her. Keeping her nervous disposition in mind, he decided to try something to take her mind off the matter. He planted a final kiss on her nose. “Now... what can my doctor prescribe the wounded Rainbow?”

Ears perking slightly, Fluttershy rose her head again, and smiled ruefully. “Well... Perhaps more reading would be nice?” She suggested, her eyes gleaming.

“Sure... You do the reading and I’ll do the snuggling.” The wounded pegasus grinned at his fillyfriend, elated that his plan had worked so easily.

Nodding, the timid mare shifted her position as she reached for the book. She then settled next to him, snuggled up against his toned form. Fluttershy turned to the page where they’d left off, clearing her throat as she proceeded to continue reading out loud.

Rainbow Blitz closed his eyes as the soft words of his fillyfriend reached his ears. He quickly settled down, nuzzling the shy pegasus, encouraging her to continue.

The warmth and peace between them was then broken upon the entrance of Nurse Redheart, bringing in a tray of breakfast food. Given that she wasn’t gazing in their direction, she hadn’t quite caught on to what was happening at the moment.

“All right, Mr. Blitz, I have your breakfast for you. How did you sleep? Any pains? The doctor should be coming around in about-” This was when the light pink nurse pony looked up with surprise at seeing Fluttershy in bed with him.

“What?” The defensive tone rang out as Blitz glared up at the intruder. “She’s allowed to be in here.” He wrapped a protective forehoof around his fillyfriend.

Fluttershy let out a frightened squeak before burying her face in his shoulder.

Nurse Redheart sighed a bit, shaking her head. She knew full well what this was about. A young couple, really in love, not married yet, and wanted to remain by each other’s side when one of them ended up in the hospital. It was no different than usual, the worried fillyfriend or coltfriend just wanted to be there for their partner. She’d seen this many times, and knew it was not out of any malicious intent of breaking the rules.

As well as that, considering Rainbow Blitz’s very extrovert reputation around Ponyville, and that it was pretty much known to all the stallions (and mares!) that Fluttershy was his...it didn’t take too long to figure out what was going on here.

“I don’t have anything wrong with her being here personally,” she said, “But I’m afraid that unless she’s family, she can’t be here before visiting hours. And that’s not for another hour.”

“But she’s more than just family. So therefore, she stays,” He poked out his tongue, cheekily challenging the nurse, hoping to instil the same courage he felt in his partner.

“Kid, I’ve seen this kind of thing dozens of times.” Nurse Redheart said in a firm tone. “Believe me, I know exactly what you’re trying to say. The sentiment is really sweet, and it’s nice you have her here for support. But I’m afraid she has to leave.”

Grim determination overtook the shy mare’s face as she locked gazes with the nurse as she petted her stallion’s mane protectively. “But Rainbow Blitz needs somepony to look after him and I do how to care for injured creatures, he will be well cared for. I want to stay with him. If ...if that’s okay...?” Realizing that what she was asking of the nurse was probably against the rules, she ‘eeped’ softly, voice fading into complete silence.

Rainbow Blitz rolled his eyes, so much for Fluttershy putting her hoof down.

Nurse Redheart shook her head, smiling. “No, dear. It’s not a choice, you just have to leave because it’s the rules.”

Unable to hold herself back, a tiny whimper came from Fluttershy. Regardless, she knew what she had to do. Without responding, she slowly began to untangle herself from the cyan pegasus, despite that she clearly didn’t want to.

A cyan hoof restrained further movement. “Look. Either she stays or we both go.” The proud pegasus was determined to win.

“You’re not being released yet, you can’t just leave. It’s either she goes or she goes.”

“Well if she goes... then I’m sure Fluttershy can still take care of me. She’s much cooler than any of your doctors.” Blitz cuddled up against his companion, openly showing his affection, in a bid to win over the invading nurse.

Groaning with frustration, Nurse Redheart facehoofed. Oh, she knew of his determination and stubbornness to the point of hard-headedness, all right. “Might I remind you that your fillyfriend is the one paying your medical bill?”

“Then she should be the one who decides to stay or go then!” Blitz rose up, releasing his hold on his mare to allow her to make her own move. “Go on Fluttershy...” He gently nuzzled her. “Do you want to stay?”

“I’m afraid you don’t have that choice, hon.” Nurse Redheart said in apology to Fluttershy. “You’re going to have to leave, either by yourself or I’ll get security.”

“I want to stay.” Fluttershy said softly, her gaze lowering. “But I’ll leave. I’m sorry, Nurse Redheart. I didn’t want to break any rules.” She got off the bed, sadly, yet resolutely gazing down at the floor.

Nurse Redheart patted her shoulder. “I know, hon. I’ve seen this kind of thing a million times. But it’s just the rules. Otherwise, nopony minds at all. It’s just safety precautions.”

“Oh come on! It’s not like she’s hurting me. She’s helping me feel better!” Rainbow Blitz followed his mare out of the bed, boldly standing beside her.

Fluttershy nuzzled him sweetly, appreciative of his gesture, even if she knew it wouldn’t do any good in the long run.

“Get back into bed, mister.” Nurse Redheart instructed. “You still have recovering to do. Besides, visiting hours are in an hour. She can come back then and then you two can do whatever the hay you choose until nine tonight when visiting hours are over. You know that.”

Rainbow Blitz scowled at Nurse Redheart, releasing his hold on his loved one. “Fine then... I guess this means Fluttershy can get breakfast while she waits anyway.” Defeated, he plonked himself down on his bed, folding his forelegs in a sulk.

For a moment, Nurse Redheart allowed her remorse to show. She didn’t want to be the Wicked Witch who dared come between two lovers, but rules were rules. Clearing her throat, she headed to the door. “Tell you what. You can have a few minutes to say some goodbyes. I’ll leave you two alone.” Nodding to them, she headed out of the room and shut the door.

“I'd better go,” Fluttershy said, heading toward the door. “I'll come back when visiting hours start again, okay? I'll just be in the cafeteria, getting some breakfast for now.”

A small smile crossed Blitz's face. “Yeah, okay. See you later, Flutters.”

With a cute flutter of her wings, she left the room, trotting out the door quickly to prevent the temptation of climbing back into bed with her lover.

With a loud sigh, Blitz slapped a hoof down upon the blankets. “Well this sucks...” He picked up his book, paging listlessly through it for a few moments before settling down. Although he allowed himself to be drawn into the epic tale of Daring Doo, his mind continued to drift back to the pony who’s warm presence he was already missing.

Time ticked by slowly, as if at snail’s pace.

Tap Tap Tap

Rainbow Blitz’s head snapped up, instantly alerted. Book forgotten, he gazed around, hoping to find Fluttershy someplace.

Sure enough, Fluttershy was at the window again, tapping on the pane to get his attention. She opened it up, came inside, closing it partway. Hovering, Fluttershy made her way over to his bed, and slowly lowered herself onto it. Before Rainbow Blitz could say anything, she was already upon him and locking their lips in a sweet kiss.

The bold stallion’s one working wing flapped excitedly as he lost himself in the kiss. He moaned with pleasure, sinking into a loving embrace with his fillyfriend.

Prolonging the kiss a few more moments-or minutes-, Fluttershy melted all the more against her beloved. She pulled away, nuzzling their noses before laying their foreheads together.

“Wow Fluttershy... Never thought you were one to break rules like this...” He giggled softly, stroking her mane.

“Visiting hours just started again, silly. I just wanted to make a different entrance!” The creamy yellow pegasus giggled, kissing his nose and stroking his mane in kind. “But other than that,well...they say...you do crazy things when you’re in love.”

“They do...” Blitz softly kissed his mare’s cheek. “I like this!" He grinned triumphantly.

Fluttershy beamed. “I just want to be with you,” she snuggled more into him, nuzzling his coat.

Rainbow Blitz buzzed with happy energy, totally elated by what his sweet partner was saying. “And I don’t want to be kept from you.” He let out a contented sigh, stretching out on the bed. “And now everything is cool again...”

Fluttershy opened her mouth to say something else, but was interrupted by a knocking at the door. She got off the bed and remained standing next to it so that whoever was there wouldn't catch them in the middle of a private moment. Right when the doctor entered the room with the chart, oblivious to what had been going on.

With as much speed as he could, Blitz pulled the book into position, pretending to read it. He acted as if there were no other pony in the room, ignoring the newcomer all together.

“Well good morning, Rainbow Blitz and Fluttershy,” said the doctor. “How are you two this morning?”

“Awesome!” Blitz replied without looking up, he grinned happily to himself, everything was going to work out better than he had imagined.

“I'm fine too, thank you.” Fluttershy sat on her haunches next to the bed, smiling happily at the newcomer.

The doctor chuckled and nodded, “Well that’s good, sport. I’m glad you’re hanging in there. So, after looking at some test results and your latest X-Rays, it seems that you should be good to go home tomorrow! Your wing is doing better, from the looks of it. How’s it feel?”

“Fine. I just can’t move it. That part sucks.” Finally dumping the book, the bedridden stallion glanced up at the attending pony.

“It should be better and ready to move in time, sport.” The doctor said, overlooking the chart once more. “In the meantime, you just keep on settling in. I’ll be back later this afternoon, of course.” He glanced at Fluttershy and grinned. “Pretty nice of your fillyfriend to come visit you!”

This made Rainbow Blitz grin widely. “You got it, Doc!”

Fluttershy giggled. “Well, I just want to help in taking care of him, too.”

The doctor laughed before heading to the door. “That's great you have such good friends, sport. I'll see you this afternoon.”

He headed out, closing the door behind him.

Fluttershy giggled and nuzzled her stallion. “Is there still room for one more?”

“Yep. Come snuggle with an upcoming Wonderbolt.” Blitz patted the spot next to him, unnecessarily welcoming his mare in with him once more.

“Okay,” she climbed back onto it, snuggling into him happily, sighing with bliss. The beating of his heart against her coat stilled her swirling emotions, calming her, helping her rest safe within his love. “Oh, Rainbow...of course you’ll always be a Wonderbolt in my heart.”

“Thanks. But I’ll be Wonderbolt soon enough.” There was no deflating his ego now that his lover had him started.

“Just you be careful once your wing is better. But I don’t doubt you’ll be soaring the skies with amazing grace and skill, my love...” Fluttershy cooed, nuzzling his neck. “If anypony in all of Equestria could become a Wonderbolt, that’s you. And I...well...as I promised, I’ll be right there to cheer you on every step of the way.”

“You sure will be! And I might even get to show you some of my moves! We could do some totally awesome duo work!” The thought of getting to fly with his mare in front of an audience sent a thrill down the speedy stallion’s spine.

While it wasn’t the first time they talked about this, far from it, the thought did still worry Fluttershy. As amazing as it sounded on paper, she couldn’t help but think of the dreadful consequences of it. “I...I...I do think...it would be lovely, Rainbow... But I would only slow you down... I don’t have the skill or grace that you do. I wouldn’t want to make you look bad...”

“Nonsense... you would be just as cool as me! But never mind. Your support is just as cool.” Blitz nuzzled up with his snuggly mare, relishing the soft touch.

“Rainbow....what did I ever do...to deserve you? I know how much this means to you, and how much you would want it... But the fact I keep backing away from it. I just...don’t want to disappoint you... I wish I could be as amazing and wonderful as you... And have no problem flying together like that.”

“But you are awesome and cool like me. I’m okay if you don’t want to fly with me. I’m allowed to hope.” He grinned at her as he rolled onto his back, pulling her on top before nuzzling noses with her. “And you do deserve me.”

A little sniffle came from the creamy yellow mare as her teary aquamarine eyes gazed into his own. Her worried look melted into a sweet, loving smile. Gently stroking his mane with a hoof, she lay their foreheads together once more. “I love you, Rainbow... Thank you.”

“And I love you, Flutters. You’re welcome,” The stallion giggled like a naughty colt. “You be careful up there or you might feel something down south.” He gave her a quick kiss on her muzzle before pulling her into a full body hug.

“O-Oh...” Fluttershy blushed deeply at this, but her smile didn’t fade. She giggled, returning the full body hug and nuzzling his cheek. “I don’t mind."

In his delight, he brought her into a soft kiss, prolonging it. Giggling, Fluttershy kissed back sweetly as she snuggled more over his toned body. Her hooves yet again ran through his mane, before one descended along his shoulders and side.

The bold stallion reciprocated his lover’s actions, playing with soft yellow feathers on the way down.

Fluttershy’s wings eagerly rose to the occasion, fluttering gently in response. Along with the savoured wonder of their kiss, her mind drifted back to those memories. The old days in Flight School. One would say they were young and innocent then, and maybe it was true. Yet, even their thoughts and hormones back then had moments of rearing their heads. Right now, they increased tenfold, despite their efforts of control.

Creamy yellow hooves caressed the cyan stallion’s sides, all while her wings joined the fun, flittering above them as a sign of how wonderful she felt inside. She held the kiss, her heart afloat, swirling in a sea of passion, steered by her true love.

Rainbow deepened the kiss, placing thoughts of control aside as pleasure racked his system. He could feel something building and despite his wounded wing, he felt determined to make his lover feel special. Feeling confident that he could stop himself from going too far, Rainbow moved to slip a row of kisses along his mare’s muzzle.

Pleasured moans arose from the pegasus on top, her body trembling slightly. Her hind legs were situated along his, their limbs intertwining. Their bodies had not an inch between them, in a perfect attached alignment.

Control was sapping away, Fluttershy felt her desires for her best friend and lover escalate yet again, clouding her mind with all the colors of the rainbow.

The cocky stallion’s kisses once again reached it’s final destination and his tongue brushed against his lover’s asking for entrance. He felt a wonderful burning within, egging him onwards, burning for Fluttershy.

Opening her mouth in response, Fluttershy moaned again and pressed closer. She too felt an intense heat burning in her stomach, traveling along her body. Shivers coursed up her spine, her heart pounded vigorously, and she could feel a strange sensation akin to a tightening feeling down below. Her tongue responded in kind, meeting with his in an intricate dance.

Nothing else mattered at this moment. Not the fact they were in a hospital room, not the fact they could get caught, not even the fact he had an injured wing.

Separating their mouths, she lowered her lips to his neck, kissing him feverishly along there.

The injured pegasus did his best, kissing her forehead in return as his hooves traced their way around her form. He could feel himself going into a Fluttershy-induced state of euphoria. He wondered if they could get away with any daring acts of passion in a hospital. As his mare’s kisses continued, rising in passion all the while he felt his heart rate increase as if he himself were in a race. Suddenly he grinned, ‘This can be an awesome challenge!’ He was ready to take it on!

Or, he would have, if not for the knock on the door. But not just that, oh no. The door opened, revealing the faces of Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Spike!

“Hi, Rainbow! We decided to come early, just as visiting hours started!” Twilight exclaimed, walking into the room alongside her friends. “How are you-oh!!”

“Whoa!” Spike gaped, wide-eyed.

“Hi guys!” Blitz quickly rolled his lover off him, shielding Fluttershy with his good wing.

“What in Equestria were you doing?!” Rarity near-shouted, appalled. “Honestly Rainbow Blitz, I would think you had better control than that!”

“Than what!?!” The bold pegasus continued his defensive position.

“You know very well what! I mean, really! Honestly! In the hospital?!”

“Nothing was going to happen! We were just snuggling!” Blitz insisted, folding his erect wing around the red-faced pegasus who lay beside him.

“Don’t you lie to me.” The unicorn advanced upon the flushed stallion. “I know what two ponies who are caught looks like.”

Fluttershy spoke up then. “There's nothing to worry about, Rarity. What was going on was completely mutual, even if thoughtless on our parts.”

“Thoughtless indeed.” Rarity said, shaking her head.

“Anyway!” Applejack stepped in, clearing her throat. “How ya doin’, RB? Feelin’ better now?”

“Yea! I have Flutters here with me.” The stallion suddenly fell into a sulk, dragging his embarrassed partner with him.

“What’s wrong, Rainbow?” Twilight asked curiously.

“Don’t tell me you’re super-duper saddy-waddy now!” Pinkie came up to the foot of the bed, looking to the couple with wide, happy eyes.

“No. It’s great to see you girls. Just don’t say that Flutters and me were doing stuff when we weren’t.” He turned to face the bouncy mare, slowly dropping the scowl as he felt his companion snuggle against him for support.

Pinkie blinked, tilting her head in confusion. “But why do you guys smell of hormones, all fired up for fun time then?”

“Um...” Fluttershy blushed heavily, unsure of how to respond to that.

“Only a little bit... but it’s not like we would actually do...that...” A cheeky look crossed his face. “That’s for later...” He flipped around to plant a kiss on his special somepony’s muzzle.

“Hee...” Fluttershy giggled.

“Well I certainly hope so. Why, had we not come when we did, who knows what could have happened!” Rarity said, shaking her head.

“Don’t ya worry none, Rare. It’s awright now.” Applejack assured her.

“So, what WAS going on?” Spike wanted to know.

“Fluttershy snuck in because she was worried. I guess I needed somepony who takes good care of me.” Rainbow Blitz did his best to shy away from any talk of naughtiness.

Applejack snickered, rolling her eyes playfully. “Ain’t nothin’ surprisin’ there, y’all...”

“Exactly!” Blitz grinned back. “Just two cool pegasi enjoying some snuggle time.”

“Awwwww!! Now that’s so awesomely adorable and so cute!” Pinkie gushed, giggling madly. “You can be such a romantic, Blitzy!”

“No. I’m not. I’m awesome and cool and nopony can stop me. Except maybe Flutters here.”

“Oh, come off it, Blitzy, you know you’re sooooo romantic ‘cause you’re soooooo in love!” Pinkie cooed, winking at them.

“With the most awesome and cool mare I’ve ever met.” He winked back, then pulled a blushing Fluttershy into a quick, passionate kiss.

Applejack laughed, Pinkie squealed with joy, Rarity simply looked on with a smile, Twilight smiled and giggled, while Spike made fake gagging noises. Although a charmer himself, the young dragon also found the two to be really cute together.

Hearing the gag, Rarity rounded on the cheeky dragon. “I know my Spikie-wikey can be worse.” She quickly walked across before planting a kiss on his cheek.

Spike laughed and blushed, grinning. “Oh, gee...come on...”

“No really. You do try to be quite the charmer sometimes.” She smiled genuinely at the flushed baby dragon. “You never know... one day it might work.” The alabaster unicorn contentedly placed herself down upon the ground beside him.

Twilight laughed in amusement, turning back to the injured pegasus. “Well I’m glad you’re feeling better, Rainbow. Did you see the doctor yet?”

“Yep! Says I can be out tomorrow! Then I’ll be flying soon too.” The confident pegasus rose eagerly in bed.

“Now Rainbow, he didn’t say anything about getting to fly just yet.” Fluttershy gently reprimanded him, snuggling up against him.

“He didn’t?” Twilight frowned thoughtfully, then raised a brow. “How did you know, Fluttershy? You were here, too?”

“Yes, I was,” the yellow pegasus nodded.

“Yep. She’s allowed in with her awesome coltfriend.” Blitz ruffled his mare’s mane affectionately. He then fluffed up the pillows and plonked himself upon them beside his lover, now elevated enough to meet his friends gazes.

“Stiiiiiiiiill romantic, Blitzy!” Pinkie now appeared next to them, grinning widely.

Blitz rolled his eyes in mock despair. “Whatever, Pinks. Go cuddle your own colt.” Grinning, he pushed her away with a hoof, giving her a final bonk on the nose.

“Nopey-dopey-lopey!” Pinkie shook her head, and came up beside Twilight in a zipping flash, cuddling her.

“Right...so...” Applejack cleared her throat again. “We brought ya somethin’, Rainbow!”

“Awesome! What is it?” He could barely contain his excitement, carrying Fluttershy up with him.

Twilight produced a few things from her saddlebags, placing them onto the bed. “Well, I figured if you didn’t want to read a book...you could try these! Comic books! They’re graphic, so they have drawn illustrations with the action and dialogue! I even have some Daring Do comic books here.”

“What makes you think that I would want to read?” Blitz folded his forehooves together, doing his best to put together a convincing scowl.

“Oooh!!” Fluttershy grabbed one, eagerly. “I read these before! I always liked some of the super hero comics, and some others, too! Oh, Twilight, this was a good idea!”

“You could always read them to me Fluttershy. But reading is for eggheads.” He defended his stance, waving a lofty hoof to dismiss Twilight’s delivery, despite knowing that his fillyfriend now knew he did in fact read.

A few collective eye rolls came from their friends, as well as Twilight shaking her head.

“Why do I bother...” She sighed. “Well, suit yourself.”

Fluttershy accidentally let out a little giggle, unable to help herself. She of course knew that her coltfriend was lying. The proof lay on the floor where his page was still marked.

“Somethin’ funny?” Applejack turned to the creamy yellow mare, curious.

“Oh, no...I was just thinking of something, that’s all...” Fluttershy giggled.

“Okay...” The farmer grinned, continuing to wonder what the joke was despite accepting her friend’s dodge.

The disappointed purple unicorn approached the couple. “Well I guess I’ll just take my Daring Do book back then...”

Fluttershy tensed, and then shook her head. “Um, Twilight...if it’s okay....Rainbow doesn’t want to read it, but I do. Would you mind...if I borrowed it, instead?”

This suprised the libarian, she stopped dead in her tracks to stare at the shy pegasus. “Okay... I guess. I’m not sure Daring Doo is the kind of thing that you would enjoy though Fluttershy. But maybe you can get your coltfriend onto it.” She sighed before reaching the bedside. “Hang on... Where is the book? It was right here.”

“Here it is!” Spike picked it up off the floor, holding it up. “It fell to the floor!”

“Thank you Spike!” The unicorn plucked the item out of the air with her magic, summoning to her side. “Hang on.” She carefully examined it, suprised to find one of the pages had been noticed. “What’s this...?”

Fluttershy gasped, realizing they were about to be caught. “Um...mine! I mean...I was reading it...and...it’s good!”

“You... read it...? But I thought you and Rainbow here were just snuggling...” Twilight felt thoroughly confused. It didn’t seem like the sort of material the shy mare would just pick up and read.

Fluttershy’s ears drooped. It was moments like this she wished she weren’t such a bad liar. “We...we were! I just...um...read on the side...hee...”

Applejack raised an eyebrow, “Awful lot ta read in a about an hour... I’m sure Rainbow would have been mighty jealous fer your attention...”

“I read fast! I can do both at once!”

“Sure ya can, gal! Care to tell ya friends what’s going on here?” Applejack, as element of honesty could sense something was amiss and hoped that after Twilight’s failing, she might discover the truth.

“But it’s true!” Fluttershy protested, trying hard not to break their cover, despite her guilt for lying. “I was reading it, honest. I came back yesterday after you guys left! And I started reading it while we chatted and snuggled and stuff.... So I read yesterday and today too!”

“And she was reading to me. It turns out it’s an nice book. But I’m sure the sound of her cool voice helped.” Blitz grinned, confident.

“Reading to you?” Rarity blinked. “Well, Fluttershy, how nice of you!”

“Wow, so you don’t like to read, but you let Fluttershy read to you.” Twilight surmised. “...Isn’t that something you would find even lamer, childish, even?”

“She’s gotta point...” Applejack admitted. “Didn’t think ya liked bein’ read to, sugarcube.”

“Only by Fluttershy. She used to do it when we were young. Seeing the book sitting there discarded, we decided to give it another go. Okay...?” The bold stallion had begun to get rather annoyed at this point and was hoping that he could steer the conversation away from the sensitive topic.

“Yes, that’s what happened.” Fluttershy mumbled, biting her lip.

Twilight could see that there was something neither of them were telling them, but decided not to press for now. “All right, we get it. We’ll drop it.” It was clear that they were at least telling a large part of the truth, maybe Rainbow would share what the secret was later on.

“I still think it’s rather cute that the tough old Rainbow Blitz allows himself to be read to by his fillyfriend.” Rarity commented, smiling happily, glad that they were at least able to get half the story out of the couple.

“Ah gotta agree, it is mighty cute.” Applejack grinned.

Twilight giggled, smiling too. “Yes, it’s really sweet.”

“What can I say....it’s fun...” Fluttershy giggled, snuggling her lover and nuzzling their cheeks.

“Yea. This way... I get to not be an egghead.” Blitz added, smugly as he reciprocated his partner.

“Oh hush.” Twilight rolled her eyes at that.

“What? Afraid that being an egghead makes you not cool enough?”

“Twi-Twi is cool Blitzy!” Pinkie came to her friend’s defense, playing her forehooves over the unicorn’s ears. “Don’t you listen to him Twilight... He’s just being a meanie!”

Smiling, Twilight gently pried her hooves away. “It’s okay, Pinkie. He’s just being facetious as always. Besides, if he really had a problem with ‘eggheads’, I think we’d know. Besides, Fluttershy loves reading.”

“Yes I do!” Fluttershy smiled.

“But Fluttershy’s the one and only cool egghead.” The cocky stallion grinned from the cover of his mare, carefully caressing her mane as he looked at the bookworm.

Twilight stuck her tongue out playfully. “Of course. The awesome fillyfriend of the ever-mighty pony that is you gets to be cool. And not your friends? I’m hurt.”

“Don’t worry Twilight. You girls are cool and my friends and all... But Fluttershy’s always been the best mare.”

They all laughed at this, even Spike, who fist/hoof bumped the confident pegasus.

“Cain’t argue with that!” Applejack snickered.

“No, we sure can't.” Even Twilight had to giggle.

“And he’s all mine, you know,” Fluttershy cooed, nuzzling her head into his shoulder.

The cocky pegasus laughed lightly, holding his lover tight then grinning triumphantly. “That’s right... And when I get out... I’m taking Flutters here on an adventure... if she likes it or not.”

“So long as your definition of an adventure does not entail overstepping Fluttershy’s boundaries, young man.” Rarity chided like a mother.

“Now why would I ever do that? I know her better than anypony else!” The bold pegasus defended, still hopeful that he would get his adventure, despite the opposition he was already facing.

Fluttershy giggled, looking curious and yet anxious at the idea of an adventure. “Well...what exactly did you have in mind, Rainbow?”

Rainbow Blitz smirked and nuzzled her nose. “You’ll find out Fluttershy. I just know you’ll love it. It’s some places only pegasi can go. But our other friend’s can meet us at the end if they like...that part is earth pony friendly.”

“Ooooh!” Their friends chorused.

“Well....okay! I like the sound of it already!” Said the creamy yellow pony.

“How romantic, Blitzy!” Pinkie squealed happily, clapping her hooves. “You really know how to show your lady a good time, you romantic charmer you!”

“Only because she’s my special pegasus...” Blitz snuggled his mare happily, loosening up a little. “I’ll let you girls know where the place to go is before we leave.”

“Hey, can I come too? I want to see this place!” Spike said eagerly.

“Yep. Only if Rarity or Twilight will go with you though.” Blitz grinned suggestively at his fellow male.

“I’m a big dragon! But, I suppose it would be just fine if a gentledragon like myself were to escort my two important ladies.” Spike grinned.

Twilight laughed, ruffling his head affectionately. “That’s very sweet of you, Spike.”

“Yes. You are becoming a real gentledragon, Spike!” Rarity praised, offering a quick nuzzle to the young dragon.

Spike grinned widely at the praise, looking pretty pleased.

“Well, anyway, so we’re glad you’re doing better. We’ll get going, I have a lot to do today, anyway.” Twilight said, taking her saddlebags from the floor. “Will you guys be all right?”

Fluttershy nodded. “Oh, we’ll be fine. But if something comes up, of course we’ll let you know.”

“We sure will.” Rainbow Blitz confirmed, grinning widely. “I’ll just keep her here if you girls don’t mind. I’m going to need her.”

“Our spa date isn’t until the day after tomorrow, darling.” Rarity winked, giggling. “You need not worry.”

“Awesome! See you girls later.” He waved to them, very eagerly as they slowly exited the room.

“See ya gals!”

“Bye, Rainbow! Get better soon!”

“Goodbye Blitzy and Flutters!”

“See you girls later!”

“Ta-ta, darlings! I'll see you at the spa later on, Fluttershy.”

“Of course, Rarity! I'll be out in a couple of hours.”

The door closed after the final mare and Rainbow Blitz breathed a sigh of relief. “Alone at last...” His tone was almost a purr as he rubbed against his fillyfriend.

Fluttershy giggled, gently climbing on top of him. “You’re all mine now, my handsome rainbow.”

“I’ll take you up on some of... that... action later. For now... how about we avoid that and just snuggle...?” He asked grinning up at her.

“Hee, of course. I was thinking the same thing.” Fluttershy assured, nuzzling their noses.

“Oh good.” Taking action, he rolled onto his side, taking his mare with him. He licked the surprised pegasus’s nose giggling. “I think it’ll be quite a few hours before they come to throw you out. Think we can do something before then?”

Giggling, the pink-maned pegasus nodded with a bright smile. “Oh, I think we can, Rainbow.”

“Awesome. Then let’s start with some food I’m starving.” His tummy added its voice to the mix causing them both to giggle. “I guess my belly agrees with me, honey.” He smirked lightly at the use of what was for him, an unusual pet name for his fillyfriend.

Of course, Fluttershy was not about to let that just sink by. She giggled with glee and proceeded to plant butterfly kisses along his face. “Oh Rainbow...” She cooed lovingly.

“Oh Flutters...” He started a kissing battle, exchanging a rapid series of kisses with his mare as they attempted to cover each other’s faces with the affectionate gestures.

Eventually they settled, simply snuggled up on the bed together. For a while, neither of them spoke a word. They just gazed at each other, eyes locked, smiles never wavering. At times their hooves would caress each other’s cheeks or weave through their manes.

“I felt lonely without you last night, Rainbow...” Fluttershy confessed. “That is a part of why I came in. I just...well, really love to spend the night in your hooves...”

“I’m glad you did. It was really boring without anypony else...without you...your warm snuggly self....somepony to be my little spoon...” He giggled softly at this. With that he slowly flipped his mare over, positioning her between his forelegs. He wriggled up against her, positioning her close under his tummy, seating her deep within his loving embrace. The grinning stallion nuzzled up to his snuggly pegasus, softly laying his head upon hers and giving her a sweet lingering kiss. “Hows that Flutters?”

If not for still being awake, Fluttershy was in heaven. She giggled, allowing the warmth and wonderful feelings to wash over her. “I feel wonderful, Rainbow.”

“And I feel 20% cooler already. I would add my wing...but... it’s out for now...” The cyan pegasus planted a kiss on her forehead, holding the moment for all it was worth. “Hey, here's an idea. How about... you leave at the end of visiting hours... and bring your nice coltfriend here nice meal and we can share...” He grinned in anticipation of non-hospital food.

Giggling, Fluttershy nodded and closed her eyes as she settled against him more. “Sure...it’s a date.”

“Thanks, Fluttershy. I knew I could count on you.” The stallion happily nuzzled up against his snuggly partner, relishing the butterflies of love that were going crazy in his system.

The heavenly warmth of their embrace, their friendship, and their love continued to wash over the creamy yellow pegasus. “And I know I can count on you. Mmmm...I love you....” She whispered.

“Love you too, Fluttershy. My super awesome pretty pegasus...” Blitz then lost his train of thought in the deep aquamarine eyes of his lover. It was pretty obvious that the lovestruck stallion was unable to think of any other cool things to say and so he simply compensated for it with one final sweet kiss, locking lips for one last time before his nap.
