Strange Happening

Getting Her Settled (Kinda)

"Grandpa and grandma are gone and so is dad, so its just you, me and your sister till they get back." My mom said on the way up to the house.

"Is that why you came down? And you forgot to mention some one..."

"Oh right sorry. Yep. So Applejack how did you get here?"

"Ah don't rightly know ma'am. Ah was out bucking trees and the next thing ah know, ah'm waking up in yer woods."

"Bucking trees?"

"She's an apple farmer." I said.

"I see. And that's your job?"

"Yes ma'am."

"She has a farm and everything to."

"Sure do!"

"Huh. A talking pony with her own farm."

"Yeah I know right?"

Our conversion ended there and we arrived at the house. We got off of the golf cart and went into the house. I noticed Applejack taking a good look around at everything as she made her way into the living room. The dogs ran up to both my mom and I, wagging their tails and the normal dog stuff. Dakota saw Applejack and went up to her and sniffed her while Jade went to go get a shoe (We have no idea why she does it). Dakota led Applejack pet him and went to lay down somewhere and Jade went somewhere else after I got the shoe away from her and put it away.

Applejack spoke suddenly. "Wow. Yer house is huge!"

I chuckled. "Maybe by pony standards. It's just a normal two story house for humans."

"Well still, it is pretty big. So uh, where will ah be stayin'?"

"Hmm....What do you think ma? Up in my room or in Cat's (my sister's nickname)?"

"Well she already shares her room with her cats and there's not much room anywhere else" She paused in thought. "Yeah I suppose that will work."

"Alright. Follow me Applejack, let me show you where you'll be staying." She nodded and followed me upstairs and through the make shift door I have set up. My room use to be a craft room so yeah. "It might bet a little cramped but we'll make it work."

"Ah'm sure this will be just fine. Ah'm not sleeping on the floor am ah?"

"Nah you'll be sleeping on the pull out bed, just let me move somethings around and show you." I then move everything I had sitting on it off and the pulled out the bed. "There, that's where you're going to sleep."

"Why thank you sugar cube."

"No problem. Now let's go get some food."

"Oh thank Celestia Ah am hungry!"

Celestia?

===-===-===

I made my self a PB&J sandwich and because my signature sandwich has meat in it and I didn't want to bother her again. She wanted a salad with some apples and I was happy to make her that, I even had her try some ranch dressing and she asked if I could put it on her salad. Why not have a conversation while eating, right?

"So Applejack, What or who is Celestia?"

"She's our Princess. Her and her sister Luna are the leaders of Equestria."

"Is she like a Goddess or something?"

"Sun Goddess. She raises and lowers it every day and night."

"And Luna?"

"She's a moon goddess. Same thing as Celestia just with the moon."

"Interesting. And there kind rulers?"

"Sure as sugar are! Well Celestia is, not to sure about Luna she hasn't really been in the public eye to much."

"I see. Maybe she's just shy? I don't know."

"Well she's intimating with being in control of the night and all."

"I can understand that. The night time has scary things, I should know."

"The woods?"

"Yep."

"Ah see."

We spent the rest of the time just eating. And when we were done I turned on some video games. I started playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops: Zombies, Applejack didn't look to thrilled. I would have chose something different and less violent but I don't have any games like that. I apologized to Applejack about the game but kept playing anyways, she just shook her head.

+===+===+===

"Urgh! This is worst vodka I ever taste!"

"Alright let's try not to die." I had just gotten Juggernog, and I am playing on Der Riese. "Ok so powers on, got red drink....so now I just need to play the Box." I went over to it, bought it and it opened and give me "A Specter....wonderful. This does not go well" And it didn't.

"Zombies! We gotta move!" I manage to take a few of the down. "FUCK! They're between me and my vodka!" I manage to take down a few more and then I got surrounded and went down.

"Well shit, that could have gone better."

"Ah don't get the point in that game."

"Just something to do for fun, I mean there's multi-player but I die alot on there and then there's the campaign mode but I already beat that."

"Don'tcha have anything less violent?"

"No those are all in a box somewhere in storage."

"So is this all ya do?"

"Well it's playing video games, player computer games or cutting trees out in the woods."

"Why don't we do that instead of this then? It's better than sittin' around all day."

"Sure I don't care, got nothing else to do until Friday so....alright." I put my shoes on and we went outside and started walking.

+++=+++=+++

We were about half way down and Applejack and I were having a conversation more or less about the video game I just played.

"So what were those things?"

"Zombies, you heard the guy say it a few times..."

"Yeah ah know but what are zombies?"

"Living dead people, reanimated corpses." She had a weird look on her face couldn't tell what it meant. "How it would happen really depends on the scenario, like Resident Evil type would be caused by a corporation trying to invent some sort of virus and succeeding but it somehow going to hell quick. Uh...a Left 4 Dead type would be caused by some unknown virus or flu that no one knows where it came from. And then the Nazi Zombies type where it was a mad scientist doing experiment on people. That's just to name a few."

"So they were once but now dead but living again?"

"And killing the living, yep."

"Ah see...."

"Yeah I don't see anything like that happening anytime soon so it's a 'whatever' thing you know?"

"And what were those things you had in your hands?"

"What do you mean?"

"They were like the small metal thing you had last night."

"Oh you mean guns!"

"Guns?"

"Yeah don't even get me started, I love guns! Though I don't hunt but still I love 'em."

"So what do they do?"

"Well that depends on who you talk to." I had a look of slight disgust on my face. "To some they're for killing, for others they're for protecting, but for me and many others they're for sport."

"Ah see."

"Do you know? because you mighty confused." I said slightly mocking her accent.

"Well ah don't know. There's nothing like them in Equestria."

"Probably for the better actually. Do you have wars Applejack?"

"Equestria hasn't had one in a thousand years, disagreements maybe but those have always been solved peacefully."

"Alright well imagine having one of those disagreements but with guns involved." It seems she was having difficulty. "Let me help you out here. Say you have pony A doing something pony B didn't like which I'm sure happens, right?" She nodded yes. "Alright let's say it's about money or something and pony B has a gun." She seems to be following so far. "So pony A has pony B's money and pony B is mad about it because I don't know, whatever reason. So in frustration and anger pony B point's the gun at pony A and demands the money but pony A says he doesn't have it. This goes on for about probably about another minute or two and pony B finally gets pissed and shoots pony A. Now whether or not something like that would happen in Equestria, I don't know but you get the point right?"

"Ah think so?"

"Now just imagine two or more countries with guns, having disagreements." I paused. We were at the gate to the pasture you had to go through to get to the woods. I opened the gate and let her through, closed it and continued. "One country gets tired of it and fires the first shot. Then you got war, you understand?"

"Yeah Ah think so." This time it looked like she did.

"Good, well we're here. What are you going to do?"

"Well Ah reckon ah can buck down the smaller trees."

"Sounds good to me. Look for the the trees with white dots on them those are the ones that need to go."

"Alright."

I had brought my iPod down with me and selected one of my favorite songs by The Gorillaz and went to work.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

It's been about an hour and a half since we started working on the trees. I had the music playing through the speaker on my iPod so we both could hear it. She had asked who the band was when I was still playing The Gorillaz, needless to say I had to explain that they weren't actually gorillas playing music, and that our worlds aren't that different and she seemed to agree for the most part. She did say something about it sounding similar to a pony named DJ-Pon3's music, I shrugged and continued to chop and cut.

We were almost done after about another hour of woods work (as I tend to call it) and all we needed to do now was haul the small trees and chopped bits to the 'Wood Work Station' so we can finish with it tomorrow. I checked my phone and it was almost dinner time, so I told Applejack that we needed to hurry up or we'll miss dinner.

"Hey uh sugar cube ah would love to hurry but ah don't have any way to haul these over there."

"Hold on I think I know where some rope is."

I walked over to the barn and sure enough there was rope hanging in the shop. I returned to Applejack with the rope and proceeded to think about how I was going do this. After about fifteen minutes I finally thought of something.

"Alright Applejack Here's I'm going to do. I'm going to tie this loosely around your neck and then tie the opposite side of the rope to all the trees you kicked down. That way you'll be able to haul them over, sound good?"

"Worth a shot."

"Ok." I went over to her and tie the rope around her neck closer to her shoulders then the middle of her neck and then tied together the trees. "Alright your good to go." She stared moving and the the trees started to go side ways. "Hmm....I'm gonna need more rope. Hold on." I went back to the barn and got two ropes of different length and then walked back. "Ok that's try this again."

"What are those for?"

I held up the longer one. "I'm going to tie this one past where this rope is," I held up the shorter rope. "And I'll tie this one more towards you. If I tie them tight enough it might work." I proceeded to tie the ropes in their places being sure to tie them as tight as I can so they would actually stabilize the trees. "Alright I'm still not sure this will work but that's give a shot." She started moving again and for the most part the trees stayed straight. Seeing it pretty much working I went ahead and started hauling the chopped bits over, helping her when she needed it. When she got the trees over to the 'Wood Work Station' I still had another load to deliver. When that was done we started to make our way back up to the house, looking up the drive I could see my dad and grandpa were home.

"Hmm....how do you feel about meeting a few new people?"

"If their like yer mother ah wouldn't mind much."

"Good because you're going to."

"That's fine with me ah suppose."

"Ok then."

I wonder how this will turn out?
