Meeting the Apples
In the skies of Equestria...
A bright golden chariot has been pulled by two Pegasus Guard carried one Unicorn mare, one Baby Dragon, and one Lion cub. As the Guard pulled the chariot, Twilight lay draped over the side of the chariot growling lightly while levitating a letter wrapped by a royal seal with her magic been. Spike just laying while closed his eyes, enjoying the sweet ride thanks to Princess Celestia. As for Leo, already switch back to original form. Currently sitting in front of the cart while feeling the breeze of the wind. He turned to his sister, before spoke.
"Are you gonna read it or what?" He asked.
The Lavender mare ignores him completely while turning her head opposite direction of the cub.
"Aw, come on. I just want you to see your friends before we head off." He explained. "I didn't know that we have to do this!"
"Whatever." She replied.
"I'm honest!"
"Yeah, right. First of all, you didn't tell me that your Lightning form can perform a boost to your legs for yourself without my knowledge. Second, you two make me run from the tower to the parties that make me catch my breath! And lastly! You guys embarrassing me in front of my classmates while my mane is messy thanks for that running you know!?" She finished while catching her breath. Did she say all of that with one breath?
Leo swore to himself that the guard loses some little balance because of the shout.
"...sorry?" The cub said while doing a smiling innocent face.
Twilight loud growled before splatting her face to the cart.
"Look, I understand that you want to find out about the Mare in the Moon but sometimes you should get out from that dusty old book." He told his sister with a warm smiled.
"That just what Princess Celestia wrote to the letter, Leo." She said while the letter floating toward Spike.
"Uh...really?"
The drake feels something on his face before using his claw to catch it as he opened his eyes. "You want me to read it?"
Twilight only nodded.
Spike opened it before he read. "My dearest most faithful Twilight, you know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely but you must simply stop reading those dusty old books..."
"Whoa..." Leo said, surprised to hear the same word.
Spike's read on. "My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life and study. So I'm sending you and your brothers to supervise preparation for the Summer Sun celebration in this year's location..." He read while Leo could see a little town clearly for here. "Ponyville!"
"...and I have an even more essential task for you to complete; make some friends." The drake dash to the Unicorn mare before returning to his place and with that, Twilight sighed.
"Pawesome! We can make some friends! It's that good!" The Lion Cub excited.
"Pretty sure the Princess wants TWILIGHT to make some friends, bro." Spike chimed to his brother. "But sure, you can do that too."
"Aw, yeah!"
"Ugh... This day would be interesting for sure." The Lavender mare growled.
"Well, look on the bright side Twilight, the Princess has arraigned for us to stay at a library." Spike tried to cheer his older sister. "Doesn't that make you happy?"
Twilight thought a moment before popping up to her hooves.”Yes, yes it does and you know why? Because I'm right, I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can then get back to the library to try and find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return.”
"Well if you say so then we follow you, Sis," Leo declared "I hereby for now on me and my brother will follow you until you are happy!"
Spike nodded. "Yeah, what he said. We're with you all the way." He said while standing next to his brother while smiling.
Twilight chuckled. "Thank, you two." Offers them a hug, which they did. "You guys are the best brothers ever."
They laughed together as the Chariot landed and Leo instantly got off before moved to the front of the chariot to talk with the Guards while Twilight and Spike have a discussion. "Thank you so much, Blue Hope and Nova Wave." Leo thanked the guards.
"My sis told me that we'll be leaving with Princess Celestia tomorrow after the event concludes." The cub remembers before they hop in the chariot, he asked his sister when will they go back. His sister replies tomorrow morning. "So, just part the cart at the place called Golden Oak Library before enjoying the festivities."
"You're welcome Leo and Thank you too." The guards smiled at him before walks down the dirt street, looking for the library.
Twilight quickly say thank you as well as she received a nod from the guards.
She turned her attention to the Lion Cub. "You know their name?" She asked.
"Of course, there are my friends after all." Leo smiled. "Besides, what kinds of friends who don't know their friend's names."
When Leo was a little, there's a time when Leo has his free time, he sometimes comes to the castle to talk to the Canterlot Royal Guard. At first, the guard simply looks at the little cub like a normal guard does. Later on, the guard listens and chat a little bit about their life as the little talk change into a conversation. Leo even gets their name as well and since the guard always switches their shift, the golden lion always stop by or says hello to them. There even that time, he becomes friend with the previous Captain of the Royal Guard before his older brother by coincidence but let's saved this talked later on.
Spike saw his sibling returned as he spoke. "Hey Twilight, maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about." As he sees a pony coming towards them.
"Well, you know what they say, always give them a warm smiled," Leo said smiling at the pony. "If you tried to make a friendly conversation."
Judging by the look of it. Her fur was pink, her hair was a darker shade of pink and curlier than anything the trio had ever seen before. To make it simple, that the mare that almost approached the was clearly a pink would be an understatement. She stopped before them as Spike gestured at her, looking down at him with a smile on her face.
"Come on Twilight just try." The drake gestured at the pink pony while looking at his older sister.
Twilight hesitated for a second before smile and said. "Hello?"
For a moment, there's a silence before the mare suddenly burst out! Her eyes went wide, her blue eyes shrink to pinpricks. She sucked in a great deal of air, jumped straight up in the air legs akimbo and darted off in a streak, tearing down the road like a shot, her hooves not even seeming to touch the ground until she was out of sight.
The trio now looking at the direction of the pink mare ran... Or flight? Maybe she hovers. Anyway, the silence went on until Twilight broke the awkward zone.
"Well, that was interesting alright." She sparked.
"I scent something weird about that pink pony" Leo half eyes.
Twilight mixed with curious and interesting felling for just see a mad pony doing something that almost defined Equestria top scientist law. "I think I-"
"Need to ask permission before doing something that might explode twice?" The lion cub glared at his sister.
"Oh... Yeah, rights. What you say, hehe." The Unicorn mare smiled sheepishly. Remember the last time doing secretly to her brothers. It did not end nicely.
"Anyway... "Spike rolls his eyes as he opens another parchment to observe.
"Hmm, Summer Sun celebration official overseers checklist." He smiled while reading the first things on the list.
"Number one, banquets preparation sweet; Sweet Apple Acres..." The drake said as he walked off while pointing towards the location as his siblings followed.
The trio not noticed of ponies who stare at the cub and the dragon while letting the road take them to the location.
Later that, at Sweet Apple Acres...
"Aha! We found it."
The entrance has an apple sign with some apple and leaves on a side of the pole as a decoration maybe? Don't know don't care. There's Well on the left with some corpse planting on the ground while on right have a chicken coop. In front on them was a large red farmhouse for the apple family with a flower for each of the window putting in the flower holder. There's also another barn not far from here that are more concentrating on a carrot. Know of the vegetable name, 'cause there is a huge carrot on top of the building.
After they have crossed the entrance, the siblings hear a shout.
"YAAHAA!"
The siblings blinked watching as an orange Earth pony galloped over towards a tree, her head lowered, a brown stetson planted firmly on it. There are a number of buckets under the apple tree as she lashing out with her back legs striking the tree. As the tree shook, all of the apples that had been on the tree, save a few small green ones, fell from the tree, landing perfectly in the buckets around it. Leo and Spike were impressed too though Twilight seemed less than thrilled while The freckled mare glanced at the buckets smiled adopting a rather proud looking pose.
"Pawesome! just one kick could make that apples drop!" The golden cub amazed by the powerful buck from the mare.
The Orange mare hears the cub voice as she turned around.
"Well howdy do uh..." The Earth pony winced to see a non-ponies in front of her. "Can I help ya'll?"
Twilight come forward to introduce herself. "Good afternoon, my name is Twilight Sparkle and I'm here to supervise preparation for Summer Sun celebration."
The purple drake joined in while tapping the number first thing to-do list. "And for our first on the list are food preparation."
The farmer pony nodded. But then realised about these two creatures. "The name's Applejack, and if y'all don't mind me asking, who are you fellers?"
She points at the Dragon before the Lion, who's now looking at the bucket fill with apples with her right hoof.
"Oh, these are my brother, this one is Spike Sparkle and the one over there's is Leo Sparkle." She forgets about her brothers as she pointed at the drake and the cub.
"A baby dragon and a lion cub? Are they adopted?" Applejack asked while glancing her head a little looking at Leo who right now, smelling the bucket of apple.
"Yes, there are." Twilight wants to go on with it but immediately forgot about the preparation. "Anyway, you're in charge of the food?"
Applejack realises the change of subjects but decided to reply. "We sure sugar are. Would you care for some samples some?"
"I DO!!"
Shout a voice as they turned to look at the golden cub who returned with his smile on his face. "Can we, Sis!"
The unicorn mare thought about it, then look back to her brother, then looks at the sun, then though again before nodding.
"Well, as long as it doesn't take too long..." She began as Applejack dashed off.
"Whoa... How did they keep running off like that?" Leo asked watching the mare ran. " Oh! you guys think that I can outrun her?"
"Of course, the lightning speed can easily win against her," Spike explained.
"Yeah... The move that makes Sis run until her mane gone messy."
"Pretty sure somepony snapped some pictures just for moments her enter the courtyard."
The boys laughed, while they sister growled. "Can't believe they, my brothers..."
The ringing of a bell drew the trio's attention towards the farm as they heard Applejack yelling.
"SOUPS ON EVERYPONY!” Applejack cried.
Then suddenly, a stampede of ponies rush out of nowhere, the trio was caught up in the herd and dragged along through the dust and mayhem. Before they could say something, they feel being sat down as the dusty of dirt clear to reveal that they were at a fair-sized table out in the field.
"W-What just happen" Spike confused.
"Ponies are weird..." Leo muttered.
Applejack didn't reply any of word they speak while popped out of nowhere.
“Now, why don't I introduce ya'll to the Apple family?” She waved a hoof and the trio noticed they were surrounded by rather expectant looking ponies.
“Thanks but we really need to..” Twilight began and was completely ignored.
“This here's Apple Fritter, Apple Bumpkin, Red Gala, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp,” Applejack paused taking a deep breath.”.... Big Macintosh, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith.”
During the introduction dishes full of food were piled higher and higher on the table make Leo started to drool a little bit for a delicious feast. Spike tried to hold his drool, don't want to show some bad behaviour to them. Not only that, but Applejack also shoved an apple in Twilight mouth when she about to protest again as the purple mare looks at her brothers who were more focused on deciding what to eat first.
'So much for helping me, boys...' She sighed.
“UP AN ATTUM GRANNY SMITH, we got guests.” Applejack called to an elderly green pony asleep in a rocking chair.
The wrinkled mare slowly rose with a grumble and shifted forward, as she blathered some incomprehensible complaints or another with her bones pop and crack even from behind the piled food.
"Huh? never thought I see some Lion here on our farm." Granny Smith said. "And since when they eating pie as there food."
Twilight coughed out the remains of the apple, taking a moment to breathe. "Well, he's already got used to it but don't worry, They with me, Miss Granny Smith."
"Ahh, you don't say." She chimed. "Well then, I hope you and the boys enjoyed our family reunion then."
"Say no more, Granny Smith." Applejack put her hoof on Twilight neck. "Twi, I say, you're already part of the family!"
“Well, that's umm, very nice and all. I see things are in order here, so we're just going to go check on the next thing...” She about to call her siblings went a soft child voice.
“Aren't ya gonna stay for brunch?” Twilight looked over to the little yellow filly with the biggest most watery sad eyes they had ever seen. Her coat is yellow with the red hair and pink bow that was nearly the size of her head.
She used the most dangerous move that makes all the adult have a heart attack that comes from the child... Her big adorable filly eyes.
THUD.
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
Leo and Spike move their head a bit from the pile of Apple treat with some crispy of Apple on the boy's mouth to see their sister who's now laying upside down with her hooves on her chest while the legs twice.
"She's down, Leo." The baby dragon sighed as he looked at his brother. Sigh as well.
“Sorry...” Apple bloom apologized.
"It's alright, Apple Bloom." Applejack sigh before grumbled. "But next time, don't do it again alright."
The filly nodded sheepishly while looking over the collapsed Twilight. "What about her now?"
"Don't worry, I'm on it!"
The golden cub got out of the table as he ran towards his sister while concentrating energy from his body to generate a spark of lightning pattern flow onto his both paw.
ELEMENT LIGHTNING!!!
Bolt to his sister side, while gaining a surprising voice from the Apple family. The lion generated electricity on his paws while looking at the fainted sister on the ground.
"This will hurt."
A song begins to play. Just as the cub put he paws to Twilight stomach for a shocking moment. Some kind of pointer came straight to from left as it stops next to the cub as the song dropped.
