Eventually, the day of the Summer Sun Celebration drew near, and ponies all throughout Equestria were getting ready to celebrate. Ponyville especially was a bustling hub of ponies decorating, shopping, and mingling while getting ready for the big party held at the Wonderbolt mansion.
In the large backyard of the mansion, where the party was going to be held, Blaze was flying around the yard inpecting the decorations, food, music, and even the seating arrangements to make sure they were perfect, as her mother ordered.
She eventually landed on the stage set up on the patio where a Unicorn with an electric blue mane and a pair of stylish purple shades was setting up her DJ booth.
"Are you all set......Vinyl? Was it?" Blaze asked. The DJ just turned to her and nodded then began to use the turntable and music with a deep bass started to play.
"Great! Music, Check." Blaze said as she held up the checklist her mother gave her. She looked over the yard from her position on the patio, decorations were up, the landscaping had been done by a group of Earth Ponies earlier in the week, and the tables and chairs were all set up for the refreshments and food. Everything looked set. Blaze finished checking the list when Rainbow Dash walked onto the patio.
"Hey Blaze." Rainbow said, less enthusiastic than usual. Blaze noticed this.
"Who pissed in your cereal?" Blaze asked. Rainbow Dash groaned.
"Fire Streak. He's been trying way too hard to get me to dance with him tonight." Rainbow said annoyed. Rainbow has had to put up with Fire's flirting over a year, ever since she became an official Wonderbolt. The worst part was that Solar Storm partially encouraged Fire Streak to pursue Rainbow, much to her annoyance.
"I really wish he would just take the hint that I don't like him. He's a douche, he's arrogant, he's rude and inconsiderate, and I just want him to leave me alone." Rainbow said angrily.
"Don't be a hypocrite Dash. You have to admit, you have your arrogant moments." Blaze said. Rainbow rolled her eyes.
"Yes, I know I can sometimes over hype myself, but Fire Streak is worse, he's a borderline Narcissist!" Dash argued. Blaze thought of an argument, but Dash was right.
"Look Dash, just stay by me, Fluttershy, and Scootaloo tonight and you'll be fine. I know Lightning is gonna try to get me to dance with him tonight." Blaze said reassuringly. Dash nodded.
"He hasn't asked you yet?" Dash asked.
"Not yet today, unlike the past month." Blaze said. She then noticed that Rainbow had brushed down her hair, but was still not dressed for the party. "Aren't you dressing for the party? It's starting in just a few hours." Blaze asked.
"I refuse to wear a dress, I'll wear a mask, but that's it, I hate dresses." Rainbow said shaking her head. Blaze smirked as she walked past her to go inside.
"Good, so do I." Blaze said as she walked inside.
Rainbow Dash lingered a bit longer on the patio. She was not looking forward to the party. She just knew that the Streak brothers were gonna be bothering her and Blaze all night, and thus ruin it. Despite what some ponies thought, the reason Dash didn't reciprocate Fire Streaks advances wasn't because of her sexual orientation, she really did fins him and ass of a stallion. She longed for a day when she could meet a Pegasus stallion that was actually a decent pony. The Wonderbolts were full of the most loathsome stallions in Equestria. If Rainbow ever had a stallion, she wanted one that was nice, fast, athletic, and actually treated her with respect. Rather than seeing her as another notch in their belt.
"Who knows, maybe tonight will be the night...." Rainbow thought to herself before going back inside the mansion.
