Chapter 8: My Calling

A couple of days have gone by since I started living in Ponyville. I've meet wonderful new friends not to mention finally getting the peace and harmony I've been desiring for years.
As days have gone by I started reading the books Twilight let me borrow. As I read them any chance I could get I have gained alot of information about Equestria.
As I finally finished the last book I have finally learned all I wanted to know. So I packed up all the books and started to head towards Twilights place and give them back to her.
As I walked into her house Twilight was already expecting me. "Ah Cody. I see you've finished my books." Said Twilight. "Yes yes i did. Thanks again for letting me borrow them." I replied.
"No problem Cody. So did you find what you were looking for?" Twilight said to me while feeding Owlicious. "Yeah I did. Your history is just so amazing I felt like my brain was going to expload from the information!" I said while I was putting away the last of the books.
I waved goodbye to her and started heading to my favorite place in Ponyville. As I sat on the bench while trying to relax I pulled out my ipod and started to listen to some tunes. I played my full album of BTR and closed my eyes while listening to the music.
As I was listening to BTR I didn't notice that there was a very special somepony watching me rock out. As my last song ended I opened my eyes back up. And as I was about to get up and walk around some more I was confronted by none other than Vinyl Scratch *aka* DJ Pon-3.
"Mind if I can listen to those tunes?" She asked me while I was in awe. "Uh...Sure." I replied while being in shock. So I gave her one my my earbuds and replayed "Windows Down".
We were both gently headbanging to the beat at the same time. The song finished "Not bad. Not bad at all. But it could've used more dubstep." Said Vinyl.
"Names Vinyl Scratch. But I'm also referred to as Dj Pon-3." Said Vinyl. "Cody. Please to meet you Vinyl." I replied to her.
"So Cody I could tell that you love music am I right?" She asked me. "Yeah I like music why?" I replied in confussion. "Well I was wondering would you be interseted in becoming a peformer?" Said Vinyl.
"Wait me a performer?" I said in shock. I thought to myself for a moment. (Hmm me becoming a performer? Well I do like to entertain people. But I'm not one to have a *good singing voice*.)
"Well I would but I not one to have a-" She stopped me "Listen if your having problems with your voice then come with me before you give me an answer." I nodded.
So i went with her to an Aromal Herb store. As we entered a lightly brown-tinted pony with a goatee and a beret came up to the front desk. "Ah Ms. Viynl how've ya been lassy?" Said the owner pony in a scottish accent.
"I'm good Mr. Herbsen." Said Vinyl. (Looks like they know each other well.) I thought to myself. "So what can I do ya for lassy?" Mr. Herbsen asked her.
"Well I would like to see what type of aroma therapy we could use to help my friend here." Vinly asked him.
"Sure thing Vinyl." He looked at me for a second. "Say Ahh sonny." I opened my mouth and said well "AHHH!" He looked at my throat.
"Hmm.. Seems like he's a Lv 4." Mr. Herbsen replied. "Lv 4?" I said in confussion. Vinyl giggled at me. "Yes Lv 4. You see there are 5 Levels of Aroma Therapy for singers." She replied.
"Lv 1 are the singers whos voice are near perfect pitch so they barely need it. Lv 2 are the ones who've been singing there entire life so they need to it take once and awhile.
Lv 3 are the ones who have trained they're voices to the point where they crack a bit where they need to take it once a week. Lv 4 are the ones who have damaged vocal chords due by too much singing, or asthma, or even screaming. They need to take it twice per day.
And Finally are Lv 5. These are the ones whos vocal chords have been damaged beyond repair. But since you have a Lv 4 and if you take it as recommended you can sing without worrying about slipping up." Said Vinyl.
Mr Herbsen came back with a bag full of herbs. "So which one will he be taking and for how long?" Vinyl asked him. "Well since he's a Lv 4 due to asthma but since he's been working on his voice for some time now he'll be taking "Angel's Bell" twice per day. And If he keeps going at it as recommended he'll be able to sing like a god in no time." Said Mr. Herbsen.
He handed me the bag. We waved him goodbye. "Goodluck sonny." He said as we left his shop. "So let's get back to my place for some practice." Vinyl said to me in a joyful toned voice.
As we walked towards Vinyl's place we chated a bit mostly about our types of musical tastes and such. Even for a couple of times I pulled out my ipod and put on some tunes for us to listen to. She really started to like my favorites bands which were BTR, Tetra-Fang, Astronauts, All American Rejects, and Three Days Grace.
We finally arriaved at Vinyl's place. As I entered her house the inside was really cool. It had both Vinyl's and Octavia's color schemes mixed and painted together across the walls. There were alot of pictures on them too. Mostly showing the awards they recieved and meeting some other celebrites.
And of course there was one picture that stood out it was a Vinyl and Octavia pic that showed them that they were *together*. "So what do ya think?" Vinyl asked me. "Not bad." I replied. "Well let's go to the music room and start practicing." Said Vinyl.
We headed towards her music room so that we can test to see how well the herbs worked for me. As we set up the mic i started follow the instructions on how to make Angels Bell. I mixed the herbs together while pouring a half of cup of hot water in the bowl. Then I inhailed the aroma. It smelled like a botanical garden with a bit of sweetness to it.
"Ready?" Vinyl asked me. "Ready." I replied. I spent hours singing as much as i could. After it it 6:00 PM Vinyl let me go so I could get some rest.
Months have now gone by. I've helped out alot of ponies, Bucked my way with AJ and Big Mac at the farm, Talked with Twilight more about our worlds and such, Hell I even went out of my way and went to the spa. It was different?
I even went to the school a couple of times to hang and play with the classmates. I even gave them some classes about my world's animal population and history. I also went back to Vinyl's place and had some more singing lessons. I was dertermind to have my voice picture perfect.
But today was gonna be awesome! Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash asked me to pull a couple of pranks on some of the other girls well except Fluttershy of course.
Oh I was so in! We spent a little time to figure out what to do for each of them? Finally we all came to agreement. But we had to see who goes first. So we drew straws. I lost So I had to go first then it would be Pinkie's turn then RD. We went to AppleJack's place first.
I got the prank all set up now we waited. AJ woke up from her nap. She was then about to go back outside and get ready to head into town. But she had not idea that I'd replaced her hat with a sombrero. We had to follow her.
As she started walking through town she already noticed that the towns ponies her chuckling at her she thought that it was her bedhead. We waited just for the right moment. And when she got to the bean stand I yelled "Ai señorita! Those jumping beans can be real tricky!"
As she turned around in confussion I held up a mirror to show her what had happened. "WHAT IN TARNATION?!" Yelled AppleJack. I sat the mirror down and started running for my life.
"YA'LL GET BACK HERE YA VARMINTS!" AppleJack yelled at us while we tried to avoid her. We finally lost AJ when we turned a corner. We were giggling like school girls. "That was awesome!" I quietly said to them.
Next was Rarity. This time it was Pinkie Pie who had to do it. She crept in the house with her Pinkie Pie powers. Next thing we know Pinkie rushed out of the house with Rarity screaming "YOU'RE ALL SOOOO DEAD!"
"What did you do?" I asked while panting. "I changed Rarity's shampoo with Green Hair Dye." Pinkie replys while jumping up and down. (Fuck me)
We almost got caught. We decided to take a breather before going to Twilights for the last prank. "Well Dashie Your up." I said to Dash while giving her my best troll face.
Dash snuck into Twilight's room. Me and Pinkie where just giggling on what Dash was going to do. Then all of a sudden *CRASH*! Rainbow bolted out of there with Twilight giving such a bloodraged face. I didn't even wanted to know what she did.
We all ran. After 5 minutes of running we finally stopped to laugh our asses off. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! That was so epic! I have never done a prank this extreme before!" I said while recovering from the laughter.
As we rested the rest of the girls got together to think of something. "So how in the hay are we gonna get back at them?" AppleJack asks. "Why Don't we grab them all and throw green dye on them!?" Rarity replied in her insane toned voice. "Good point Rairty. Let's fight fire with fire." Twilight said while writing down a strategy.
As we were resting at the park we had a chat about the funniest thing we have ever seen or done. "And when she turned around I pulled up my mask and I said *Welcome! May I take your head?* Her face was priceless!" Said Rainbow as she just finished an interesting story. We all laughed.
Just as I was about to tell them mine I heard a snap. "Oh Cody, Rainbow, Pinkie? Where are youuuu?" (Shit it's Twilight!) As we were about to back up until we heard her. "FOUND YOU!" It was Rairty with her baby puke green hair. "PAYBACK TIME EVERYPONY!" Said the insane Rarity. We screamed.
We all scattered in different directions. As I was running from the others I heard Rainbow and Pinkie both scream. "Great they got caught." I said while panting as I got to the town square.
I looked around as fast as I could so that I can find a decient spot to hid. A cellular storage drain perfect! As I crawled into it I was gladly thinking (Thank Celestia and God for giving me such a skinny body!)
I hid deep in the storage drain while consealing myself so that they couldn't see me. Then I saw it! Aj, Rarity, and Twilight were all together with RD And Pinkie tied up beside them. "Where is he?" Asked Rarity.
"I thought i saw him run this way?" Replied Twilight. "Dang It he got away!" Said AppleJack. *phew* Thank God. "So how are we gonna find him? He did say everytime somthing like this happened nopony ever found him." Said AppleJack
"It just so happens I learned a new spell today BEFORE SOMPONY CAME IN AND GAVE ME POISON JOKE!" Twilight said furiously while looking at Rainbow. (Shit that's what she did? Well your screwed Dashie) I said to myself.
"So what does this spell do?" Rarity asked. "Well It's supposed to locate any heartbeats in a 5 mile radius. And If my calculatons are correct Cody's heart is beating extremly fast." Said Twilight in a boast full voice. (Fuck!)
"So what are ya waiting for Twilight cast it!" Said the joyful AppleJack. Twilight's horn began to glow. Then it sent out a wave of vibrations through out Ponyville. (Fuck Me Sideways With A Chainsaw!) "Ah Ha! Got something." Said Twilight.
As I was paniking I just remmebered one of my meditaing techniques! So I started to do some breath exercises to slow my heart rate down. As they were getting closer to me my heart finally slowed down to the point it looked like I was dead.
"Wait a sec girls!" Said Twilight. "What? What's going on?" Asked Rarity. "The heart rate i saw from here just stopped." Twilight replied. "Wait what do ya mean it stopped? Hearts can't stop unless the critter's dead." Said AppleJack.
"Exactly! My guess it was probably a small animal just died in there. Well have to tell Flutterhsy later so that she can prepair it for a funeral." Replied Twilight. "But right now we need to find Cody." Said Twilight. They started to walk away. *PHEW* I finally let go of my breath.
I crawled out from the drainage pipe. "Hehehe. Suckers." I said. As I started to head to SugarCube Corner I thought to myself how RD and Pinkie are gonna be when the girls give them there own taste of revenge? I just shivered at the thought of it.
Then that tingling sensation came back. "There You Are!" Said Rarity. "Shit! Gotta Run!" I said outloud but I couldn't run. (Damn It! Caught In Twilight's Spell Again!) I thought."Well Well. Looks like we caught you Cody. Any last requests?" Twilight said to me. "Actually yes I do Twilight." I replied while doing another troll face. I grab my special item I made while at Twilight's Lab.
It was a Flash Bang Ball I created for somthing like this. And I threw it to the ground as hard as I could. It let out a flash of sound and lights that made Twilight drop me to cover her ears. "Better luck next time girls!" I said while running.
It was starting to get dark so I decide to head home after having a fun day I got to my room and just passed out. Morning came. As I woke up I saw that I was strapped to the chair next to Rainbow Dash And Pinkie Pie. "AAHH! They got Fluttershy in on this while I was asleep didn't they?" I asked them. They nodded.
"Well Cody you were one tough person to get. BUT you should've seen this ahead in time." Said Twilight. "Well let's begin shall we girls?" Fluttershy asks them. They all shouted "YEAH!" "Well I had a good run" I said...............
