I NEED AN AFTERMATH THING FOR THIS! THIS WAS SO GOOD AND THE MYSTERY WAS SO TENSE!

I'm glad you liked it. This story took a lot out of me to get done in time, but I may release a short epilogue sometime in the future following up on events.

I just hope Apple Fritter is getting some help.
I liked this story.
We get to spend enough time with the characters to build a rapport with them. I think this is critical for a good mystery. Likewise, there are also other things happening in the background that helps muddy things.
In that sense, there isn't just one mystery, there are several; and you have to piece together what is important and what isn't.
This was delightful! The mystery was interesting and very clever, and the character writing was on point. My only complaint is that this really needed an editing pass; I encountered frequent mistakes that kept throwing me off, mainly where it looked like you had perhaps started a sentence one way and finished it another. But other than that, wonderful work!
