I think Celestia is just a bit of a freak. Keeping Twilights original corpse about as a maid. Molestia lives.
This could get dangerous. What if some Unicorn, say Rarity made a clone of herself and then found a way to put it in stasis. And when she dies the clone wakes up from stasis as a new younger Rarity? The natural balance of the Universe will be broken!

Also, Celestia creeps me out just a little bit and this didn't answer any of the questions raised by the previous fic.
No it isn't...It specifically states why she needed a clone in the prequel!
I'm pretty sure I've heard people say things along the line of "If you get yourself killed, I'm going to kill you. That is now doable.

I think the point was that Celestia had a clone backup ready, in case Twi killed her or something.
Creating sapient beings as “mandatory donors” is problematic. Also, bodies wear out but the MirrorPool copies them, elderly ponies will discover that they escaped a body that died from old age to awaken in a body dying from old age.
In the story “Down and out in the Magic Kingdom” by Cory Doctorow (free to read licensed CC-By-SA) human grow clones to puberty without consciousness (not only not sapient but not even sentient) and backup their memories every now than them. If anything happens to their current bodies, their memories are baked into clones. They are young and healthy again. Those clones can be cybernetically and genetically enhanced and some people just upload themselves to computers permanently.
