Hey there, fellow contestant!
This was a fun action piece. A lot of the stories for the sci-fi contest can be a bit overly cerebral, so it's nice to have something with big aliens, grungy corporate shenanigans, and interplanetary mining with cool gadgets. I don't know the source material, but it looks like it didn't slow me down any.
Fun story!
