In this alternate ending to School Raze- Part Two, Cozy Glow absorbs all of the magic in Equestria and turns into an all-powerful Alicorn. In response, the Tree of Harmony powers up the Student Six so that they can fight Cozy Glow and take back the stolen magic. It will be the most epic battle Equestria has ever seen, and the fate of the entire world hangs in the balance. Can the six young creatures pull it off?

Of course they can, but that doesn't make the epic battle any less fun to watch.

"Look out!" Sandbar shouted, "It looks like some kind of homing shot!"

*ANNOYED FLASHBACKS TO SONIC GENERATIONS*

Are you aware you mixed up Sandbar, Smolder, and Ocellus' elements?
Sandbar was engulfed in yellow, he was Kindness.
Smolder was engulfed in blue, she was Loyalty.
Ocellus was engulfed in white, she was Generosity.

Cozy Glow even did Eggman's irritating "Get a load of this" catchphrase :raritydespair:

Heh, went into this already playing "Open Your Heart," totally ready to comment that this fic could use a bit of it playing in the background, only to find that's already first on the list of recommended music to play with it. :rainbowlaugh:

"No way! I can't believe this!" Cozy shouted, clearly frustrated by the students' persistence.

That final boss fight WAS pretty much the one underwhelming part of that game... :ajbemused:

Seeing this is more or less AU already, I'm not so sure it really matters.

Besides, I've been thinking it over myself, and I'm not so sure it'll be that straightforward as the Young Six inheriting specifically the Mane 6's iteration of the elements. After all, the Pillars version of the "elements" (per se) were similar to that of the Mane 6's...but not perfect duplicates. After all, Somnambula's Element of Hope, while certainly still conveying optimism, isn't really the same as Pinkie's Element of Laughter, and Rockhoof's Element of Strength isn't comparable to Applejack's Element of Honesty at all. They're reflections of the same ideals, sure, but not one hundred percent the same. This, to me, suggests the elements "evolve" with the times and for the given set of users. I suspect that it'll be a similar case for the Young 6, and any elements they represent are reflections of the Mane 6's, but not the precise same (meaning there's wiggle room for who represents what).

I further suspect this, because the colors the Young 6 glowed with in the finale reflect the base colors of the Mane 6 themselves...but not necessarily the actual elements. For example, the actual Element of Loyalty is red--red was not one of the colors the Young 6 glowed with. And that's, to me, significant, because in looking back through the show's run, it's actually been quite consistent in showing whatever magic associated with that element remains that set color (e.g. Loyalty's magic is consistently red). The fact that this is the first time this trend is broken in so noteworthy a manner, suggests to me that there may be more going on than meets the eye.

Besides...if it is a simple transfer of the Mane 6's elements straight to the Young 6, then that means Gallus is the Element of Magic...and, c'mon...no offense to the griffon, but magic not only isn't his forte, he's not really even shown much interest in it, so I can't really see it. :raritywink:

Let's see here....This is without reading this fic or watching the episode(s).....

Context, then. You need some. :ajsmug:

......Remind me to never piss Sandbar off.

Well, one thing to consider is the tagline of the show. Friendship is Magic. Gallus has made a huge effort to keep and stay with his friends, just look at The Hearth's Warming Club.

True. Buuuuuuuuut it still seems to be a bit of a stretch to me. :applejackunsure:

Either way, it seems clear to me the show's crew has a game plan for this already, so I'm thinking we'll know for certain next season.

I tried to find this to include in my first response, but it took me forever to do so. This Equestria Daily post I found a couple days ago explains it better than me.

I'm aware you're unlikely to change your opinion. I just wanted to provide some food for thought.

9278496
I've seen theorizing like that before. I'm not necessarily against it, of course--if that's really the way the show goes, I'll quite happily still roll with it, no problem --I just wouldn't also rule out alternatives just yet as well. In all honesty, it could be too soon to tell.

It's really because while all of these descriptions of each of the Young 6 as a respective Mane 6 element do certainly work, a lot of it is through more subtle means...and that's probably what gives me pause, because the show's never really done subtle before, or at least not very well. If it's going to hint towards something, it's usually rather upfront about it, leaving it hard to miss or dispute the clues. Just look at Cozy Glow's arc.

But as I said, if that proves to be the case anyway, I'd roll with it, if not praise it, because it is subtle and thoughtful, not beat-it-down-your-throat obvious like what the show typically does. :pinkiehappy:

So we'll see.

This was a fun read.

I'm glad that I started this really great discussion, but I have to be honest and say that I just gave the characters the Elements I personally felt fit their personalities best. You're free to disagree, it's just my opinion.
(I gave Gallus magic because he needs friends the most)

Thank you for posting this. It's a really good story!

"Woah, I'm super cute !" Smolder said gleefully as she admired the marking on her arms and legs. Then her eyes widened and she blushed at what she just said. "Er, I mean, how do you guys feel?" she asked quickly.

:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh: This was brilliant.

Gallus blushed a little, but didn't object to the gesture.

🚢

Yona struck the enormous orb horn first, and she pushed up against it with all her might. Sure enough, and much to the amazement of her friends, the orb quickly began losing speed. Yona let out a tremendous yak roar as she brought the orb to a complete stop. Then she rapidly began hitting it with her forehooves, right before she spun around and bucked it with both hind hooves, sending it flying right back at Cozy Glow.

YONA SMASH! Oh boy, that's so awesome. :rainbowkiss:

Sandbar shrugged in said, "What? I love you guys. Anyway, I think we've worn her down enough. It's time for her to taste the rainbow!"

:pinkiegasp::pinkiehappy:

Cozy Glow put on her cutest smile and said, "Hey, neighbor." She then switched a devious smile and asked ominously as she gripped the bars of the cage, "Wanna be friends?"

Yeah, the fact that she can still be that way after the beat down she just got actually makes this part even creepier than what we got in canon. :fluttershyouch:

Woo-wee! This was some ride! :pinkiehappy:

I really wish the Crusaders could have been witness to this attack. I bet they would have been even more pissed off.

who thought Sndbar's battle cry was this:ORA,ORA,ORA,ORA,ORA

*Applause* This was indeed an epic alternate ending. Very enjoyable and certainly a great read.

I think you played it just as the show would have if this were the option. Each character getting in their fair share of action and remarks. Sand Bar certainly would take this very personally, too.

Thanks for sharing such a great tale. The way it starts with the actual episode and ends with the actual episode is great. :)

I actually noticed Sonic references throughout the fight proper. Besides the tracks themselves, I noticed most of the attacks and quotes had referenced various boss battles throughout the franchise from Adventure to Generations.

Heh. Well there was a prediction in this story. :ajsmug: Cozy Glow in this AU became a Alicorn, then in the show's main canon, aka the Season 9 finale, Cozy Glow became a Alicorn from Grogar's Bell.

What are the odds though? :ajsmug:

That is a pretty epic battle I will love to see that in the show
