Seventh Sunday of Pascha: Scripture Readings

During our priest's sermon yesterday (with his timing constraints, he comes Saturday, then heads to his own church to do the service there on Sunday), he mentioned the death of St John Chrysostom. Specifically, his last words. On a death march towards his place of exile, a place he never reached, his last recorded words were, "Glory be to God, for all things." This is a pretty big line, that he

Fifth Sunday of Pascha: Scripture Readings

Today's Epistle is from the Book of Acts, 11: 19-26 and 29-30 (oca.org skips verses 27 and 28. Not sure why.)

    19. "Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.

State of the Author: The Burial, and Moving Forward · 1:15am February 26th

So, I'd like to talk to you guys a little here.

I'm doing well enough, all things considered. We held the funeral service at the church on the 24th, but the burial service is happening at Dad's place of birth. Which is in a different state, so I'll be in town for several days. I went ahead and posted the next chapter of Everfree, as I'll be out of town this Wednesday. Given the main point of that fic, which was written almost entirely before my father's death, I figured I'd do my damndest to get it posted quickly.

Moving forward is its own struggle, but thankfully I'm handling the IRL stuff pretty well. Regardless, that stuff doesn't really need to be talked about here, so I'll just say: Thank you guys for your patience with me as a writer, and for any well-wishes and prayers you sent. God bless you!

That stuff aside, writing to me is more than the job I'm trying to make it into: It's also my pass-time and hobby. I don't want to give that up just yet, but I won't be able to consistently write things for you guys. The answer came to me when I thought about some of the 500K word fics on this site. I have a few that I've started on once or twice, but not written a whole lot for. But this would be a pretty good way to keep giving you guys content even when I can only post a chapter maybe once a month or, potentially, once every two or three.

Everfree will still be posted every Wednesday, but do note that you got this week's post today bc of IRL timing stuff. After that, though, I'll post the chapters I've written for the new fic once a week on Wednesdays until I run out of completed ones. After that, it'll be whenever they come, so you'll have to be patient. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience--God and the rest of you all know that this is NOT how I wanted my fanfic writing to go. But it is what it is, at this point. Well wishes to all!
