When Twilight Sparkle becomes aware of the newfound existence of seven orbs in Equestria, which, when brought together, will grant anypony three wishes, she reacts in the manner to be expected: extreme panic. Now, she and her friends must journey across the land, searching far and wide for the seven Dragon Balls before those who would abuse their power can get their hooves on them.

Note: This story was written for this contest, which demands any entered story be incomplete. I'm probably never actually going to find the time to write more of this epic tale, and I likely wouldn't have even bothered to start it were it not for the contest, but that doesn't stop this sole chapter from being good for a few quick laughs.

It was supposed to be a fun day. Simple, really. All Fluttershy wanted was to help shepherd adorable baby turtles into the sea, and eat a nice lunch on the beach with Angel afterwards.

She was not expecting to be scared out her mind by an orange-purple cube thing that seemed to distort reality with its very presence.

The pony known today as Ponyville's resident nutjob wasn't always 'barking mad', as it were. Screwy was once a stallion with a big ego and an intellect to match. Then, he ripped a hole in reality and stuff got weird. Like, alternate-dimension-versions-of-him-who-had-formed-their-own-government weird.

Name Rater has always had a very unique skill: the ability to gauge the talents of others at a glance. And once this became known, everypony began to depend on his guidance, much to his chagrin. This is his story, a tale of great self-sacrifice and even greater grumpiness.

And no, this has nothing to do with Pokémon, the name is just fitting.

One day, Catbug, of Bravest Warriors fame, 'jumps' to Equestria. He quickly befriends the Mane Six, as he is very, very lovable. But how will they each react to his unique blend of feline curiosity and childlike innocence?

A series of mysterious events leads Twilight to throw a party in Canterlot, one where everypony is invited. But the arrival of an unparalleled evil, older than the world itself, irreversibly alters Equestria's fate.

"Do the innocent pay for the crimes of the guilty? Of course they do. That's the fate of the weak."

Author's Note: This should be an enjoyable read even if you are unfamiliar with Magic: The Gathering. Oh, and the first chapter is the Slice of Life one. S**t gets real after that.
