After reading this chapter, while enjoying the premise, I am a bit leary about the RGRE aspects.
Male gender roles are quite complex, but most previous RGRE stories I have read have just plastered a veneer of toxic masculinity over their characters. What you end up with is an entire society of incels and misogynist.
I really love your writing so I hope there's more to the personalities than, "Hey good looking. Make me a sandwich."
On reflection, it must be hard to reverse gender roles for a society that, in practice, already does away with most of them.
11869677 Just give the next chapter or two a chance My take was sort of like 1940s-1950s USA - not overtly sexist, although traditional™ roles are definitely a thing
11869690 the 40's and 50's were pretty lousy with overt sexism in their own ways, a lot of working class women who worked in factories during the war getting the boot so that the men could come back in, the enforcement of the nuclear family model which would see a lot of middle class women hooked on drugs, and of course the 'good ol' lobotomies that were advertised to men as means of controlling 'hysterical' women.
that said yeah in terms of sexisim it wasn't overt enslavement, more so social structures that encouraged specific things.
which in a 'reversed gender roles' context... ill be interested in seeing what ya do with that, even if im guessing your going for a less extreme version of that stuff.
11869648 Some Leech has multiple quiet good none or minimal porn stories. Here are a couple I could grab fairly quickly, probably missed more than a few
11869677 I feel it’s also important here that the mare seems to think she made a sex-bot of sorts, a boyfriend golem. She really doesn’t understand what she’s done
11868768 This is a travesty! How bitterly short this sweet story will be!
It’s only been two chapters and I already know that im really liking this Sapphire and Nimbus pair. That first chapter felt pretty romantic. Also her character seems super familiar for some reason? Maybe it’s just the cover art, idk.
Also I think it could have been kinda neat to have the foremare and Nimbus get into more of an argument/altercation from his earth gender role clashing with her pony one. Maybe a verbal threat or some other irate rebuke? Maybe he could’ve shoved her away or made physical contact? Ehh… just a thought, I’m not sure how that may have affected the rest of the plot.
11869677 The Long and Short of It does a good job of handling it, imho. Really the tricky part is balancing the sexism and misandry with the various forms it takes, (since it’s not only possible but realistic for someone to be dapper and polite and a “gentlemare” but then just expect the stallion to be subservient, not have career aspirations, or otherwise “stay in their place,” because if an RGRE fic isn’t obliquely analyzing, critiquing, or deconstructing gender norms, roles, and expectations then it’s doing it wrong) the other societal stuff that comes with it.
11869690 I mean, there was pretty overt sexism. I’m pretty sure it was next to impossible to take friggin’ calculus and other advanced mathematics, many colleges weren’t co-ed, and women’s colleges usually didn’t offer STEM degrees. Hiring and pay discrimination was legal, married women couldn’t take loans or do almost anything financially significant on their own, without their husband’s approval, and it was REALLY hard to get divorced, even if it was an abusive relationship. Things were better than before WW2, but the women who decided that they liked their greater autonomy and agency had an uphill battle, to say the least.
Not to be hostile or anything, just clarifying what things were actually like in the US.
This a proof that you can write stories that are less than 20% porn.
Love the approach though.. also I almost expected think with portals.

Maybe we'll get some insight from other stallions on the matter!
Yo, I'm usually here for the porn. But this story is awesome Leech! Well done! I can't wait to see how this turns out!
This definitely has me interested. Can't wait for more.
Edit: Oh. There's a new chapter up now. Welp. Time to read it I guess!
