Batman hunts for one of his feared enemies so he could bring him to justice in Gotham City. However, he enters a place that unexpectedly transports him in an unknown world of which he has no clue what it is. While he struggles to complete his mission, an evil rises up in Equestria that would require not only his tactics, strength, and resources but also the assistance of the ponies. How will the Dark Knight react to them for who they are? Will they accept this dark being who is somewhat unlike them? Will they understand him? The more the Caped Crusader associates with them, the more he’ll realize that it will be like Gotham all over again.
Note: This happens after the events of Batman Begins and the season 3 premiere. This also takes place during season 3 of MLP: FIM.
Yep. There's definitely some potential here...

Poor Batsy...
The idea of a deeply mentally disturbed billionaire man who wants to solve crime by dressing up as a bat every night to play peekaboo and wrestle with dangerous criminals, instead of donating money to rehabilitation centres, execution squads (for Joker, who just simply cannot be allowed to live) and the police force, ending up in a bright and colourful world full of pastel ponies and (generally) light and happy and sugar-sweet atmospheres is very bizarre yet somehow quite compelling.
They don't match in the slightest! Yet, depending on the writer's ability and the plot, it can work regardless!
I thought only Discord could make oil and water mix...so much for that!
Nope.
Apparently Celestia knows about human cities and mythology, even way back when her own settlements were first being founded; almost all of her nation's cities and towns are equine puns of human cities. Not sure how that works, considering she's been shown with only one portal, to a world with multicoloured humans that also inexplicably uses equine puns (did she influence that too?); a super-secret second portal?
Putting Batman in his home is a big mistake. He's probably already learned a lot about Sombra.

That was one awesome story, and I'm glad to see more love being given to the Dark Knight Trilogy, as they're awesome films, and seeing this being a sequel of sorts to Batman Begins is even more awesome!
